The room was large and the view was great but the property is dated and the condition is poorer than what I expect from a luxury resort. Also, buffet breakfast failed to impress. The variety and quality of the food served was probably only a notch higher than the breakfast served in 2-star hotels which include breakfast in their room rates.

Place was very mid. Lots of silverfish (look like little roaches) come out of the bathtub drain. No pack and play available for our baby which ruined our sleep arrangement. Rooms are dated in Bayshore. Road leading to hotel is also in need of repair.

We did not have any kitchen just a very small fridge , no microwave. But room was nice. Easter weekend fun zone was not as good as last year, our daughter went last year and thought it was great , lots of inflatables etc. So we had a family get together this year but fun zone was disappointing. Loved the Superdogs!

The property itself was nice, however having a pet with you makes it difficult to enjoy the amenities the resort offers ie, meals, breakfast buffet, gym, etc. we ended up ordering take away each day for all of our meals as we could not leave our dog unattended. For the price and type of rooms we had, we would’ve preferred to stay elsewhere with easier access to local amenities. If we go again, we would not bring a pet with us as it makes it difficult to access amenities. Our room in the pavilion building seems quite dated for a 4 star resort and we were surprised by this. There is a very small fridge in the room but no other appliances, again we did not expect this as most places offer a full mini fridge. Overall the staff were lovely but we did not make use of any dining or extras due to having a pet.

The property was pretty great. Lots of outdoor space, the pool was nice and big, the Pavillion had many activities for the kids.

The hotel room in Bayshore was nice, although we could have used a larger mini-fridge.

The shuttle service was amazing. Made it so easy to go back and forth from the Pavillion to our room.

Came up with my son for March Break expecting a higher-end experience for the price. Instead, it felt like a blatant cash grab. If this is the level of experience, I would have stayed in Toronto.

The “kids zone” was embarrassing. A conference room with broken bouncy castles and unusable games. Calling that a March Break activity is misleading at best.

The worst part was the food and service. We ordered a simple takeout meal from the Maple Pub that somehow cost $86. We were told 10 to 15 minutes. It took 45 with zero communication. Staff were dismissive and made me feel like I was bothering them just for asking about my order.

When the food finally came, items were missing including drinks and desserts. My son was starving and at that point I had no energy left to deal with it.

This is the kind of experience that feels completely wrong. Overpriced, understaffed, and poor quality across the board. For a place like Deerhurst, this is honestly unacceptable. Running a business like this and charging premium prices is part of a bigger problem. People deserve better than this.

We will not be back and I would strongly recommend avoiding this place if you are expecting anything close to quality or value.

Lots to do, we had a great family trip as we started this tradition last year with our baby. Our room could have been cleaned better, we killed a spider and noticed cob webs, stains on chair and sheets. We also could have benefited from a microwave in the room but none in the building we stayed in. The staff was all very helpful and friendly! Our meals at the main buffet were delicious!

It may be the time of year but the resort was packed with young children, which was unexpected. Couldn’t use the pool or hot tub when getting a spa service because they were full of kids. The rooms could use an upgrade and you can hear everything through the walls, which doesn’t help when the aforementioned children running rampant like its great wolf lodge. We enjoyed the snowshoe trails, and renting gear was easy. Staff were all very nice.

Room was clean but dated. Furniture chipped, bathtub finish was compromised/damaged in spots exposing underlying material.
All but one restaurant at the hotel was closed during our stay, which would have been helpful if we had been made aware upon booking or checkin.
Service in the one open restaurant was slow to put it nicely despite it being empty.
The one positive was the staff at check in was very friendly.

We where very disappointed that the coffee shop and gift shop where closed for are entire stay also not one outdoor fire pit was lit and only one restaurant was open we come every February for my wife's birthday and may not be returning

Spacious room. Great view. Lots of unique guest services like winter sports equipment and a shuttle. Only one tiny hot tub for such a huge resort, not very hygienic. No fan in the bathroom. Rooms not cleaned or anything for a short stay, which is fine, but no way to get dry towels or coffee without going to the main building (which in extreme cold is more annoying). Beautiful resort, just a bit quirky for the price.

Will 10/10 come back. My 5 year old daughter and I stayed 1 night during the week. It was on the quieter side. We would have stayed an extra night but they were fully booked.

I recently returned from at Deerhurst Resort, and it was exactly what I needed to recharge. The staff were courteous, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the guest experience without being intrusive.

The cleanliness of the entire property was impeccable. Whether it was the rooms, the fitness center and pool, or the common lounge areas, everything was spotless and well-maintained, which made it very easy to relax and feel at home.

I was impressed by the quality of the resort dining. The menus offered everything from fresh, locally sourced Mediterranean-style dishes to more indulgent fare, all prepared with obvious skill.

Lastly, the activity options are fantastic, even for winter. There’s a perfect balance here—you can find high-energy activities such as cross country skiiing and skating and excursions, or quiet, serene spaces if you just need to unplug. I left feeling significantly better than when I arrived. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone needing a top-tier getaway.

My entire experience with Expedia was horrible. Will not book through them again. We booked to stay at deerhurst, my family came down with a flu bug and we’re not able to travel. I called Deerhurst who said I had to go through Expedia.

I spoke to a representative and asked if we could get a refund or a credit to switch our stay. The representative made it seem as though this would not be an issue, told me not to contact Expedia they would take care of it and i would hear in 24 hours. I received multiple emails from different reps, over 3 days that they were working on this and to not contact them. They reported no one at deerhurst was answering. I find this hard to believe. By this time my stay had come and gone. I received an email yesterday saying sorry nothing could be done. I could tell from the email the representatives did not know my situation, they had suggested I call deerhurst resort to see about changing my booking. My scheduled stay had already passed- I didn’t contact deerhurst, as they directed me not to. I understood when calling there may have been anything they could do, they let me on to believe they could assist with this one time issue. We’ve booked through Expedia before I was surprised at the total lack of customer service/poor management of this situation. Do better Expedia. I will take my money elsewhere thanks!

Deerhurst has a beautiful vibe. Pool amenities dirty. Pool changerooms unhygienic. This was our main issue. The pavillion rooms need updating. The ambiance and experience is far to beautiful to let go and not renovate. This place is truly special, this company should take more pride in it. My son loved his experience. Family friendly!

The best part of our stay was the Drift Kitchen & Bar where we had dinner and breakfast. The food was amazing, and so were the staff; in particular Christine who was with us through dinner.

The staff on the front desk were not helpful at all. In fact two people we spoke with were snarky. We had booked our room through Expedia to save a bit of money, and truthfully felt punished by your staff. Our travel plans changed, bringing us to Huntsville one day early so we called to ask for a second night. We were told that because we booked through Expedia. they weren't allowed to change our reservation (understandable), but when we asked to add on a night and pay for it separately we were told to do it online ourselves. When we tried to do so, the system would not allow us because the online booking system is hard-wired to force a 2-night stay on Friday's and Saturdays. We called back one more time and a different person answered the phone, and was just as unhelpful. Given the hotel was empty (and 2 staff told us that people had been laid off due to low bookings), we would have thought you would have appreciated the revenue.

Despite the hotel being empty, we were placed in the first room off the foyer where we could hear staff talking and music playing. There were people on other floors (we learned while checking out at the same time). In our room there were big dust balls in multiple spots on the ceiling and floor, and our bed skirt was ripped. Also, the tub was not clean.

Went for a girls weekend and had a great time. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcomed and answered any questions that we had. The room was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the dining options too! Our only concern was that there was a hockey tournament, so the pool and hot tub were full of kids, so we didn’t get to enjoy that amenity, no fault of the resort. Definitely going back next year to make this an annual tradition.

Overall staff were courteous but the resort is way past its better days back some 20yrs ago when it was hanging by a thread as a 4 star resort.

The room was clean but overall properties and amenities were old and tired. It seems like it was running on a budget maintenance mode not unlike a Niagara motel. I gave it 7.3 only because the staff were friendly.

Staff were very friendly. My kids made use of the indoor rock wall and the operator was extremely friendly and very helpful. Great pool area and lots of activities to keep us busy. The only thing I don’t like is the lack of daily room touch ups - coffee pods not refilled or anything touched up during a nearly 5 day stay. Overall though I would highly recommend the resort.

The room was spacious and relatively clean but the mirror and windows were very dirty. There’s nothing to do and the food options are bad that I had to drive to a nearby restaurant to eat there. It was sad to see the buffet only run on saturdays, I wish there was a way to have more food options for guests during off season times.

We had fun but were very disappointed as my sister spent a lot of money getting a suite for her family based on having fireplaces so everyone could get cozy at night and watch movies. Neither fire place worked and after calling for maintenance and fixing one were told the other would be fixed next morning. No one came and no one updated, she followed up and they said actually someone was coming days later (after we were leaving). It changed the plans and also we wouldn’t have paid so much for that room as we wanted it for the fireplace and ambience. They wouldn’t comp anything and weren’t very helpful. The did offer to move rooms but by the time we followed up after no one coming or updating the kids were totally unpacked and would be such a hassle to love the whole family. Surprises the staff cared so little and didn’t comp anything as for many things in a room not to work is very odd and not as advertised.

Everything was great except the fact that I woke up in the morning with bites on my ankle. After searching it up it would appear to be bed bug bites. I am very disappointed with this as the rest of the visit was great. But it is unacceptable to have bed bugs.
