Very good hotel by the south coast of Athens in Voula upscale neighborhood and next to trendy Glyfada. Great location across the street from the tramway final station and the beach 30 minutes from the airport with a taxi. Friendly staff, great service, home atmosphere. Nice and affordable hotel away from the crowds of Athens in à very safe neighborhood.

property was very old , the rooms smelled bad , the bathroom was dingy and old , shower curtain was so old and dirty i couldn't even close it to shower . limited hot water , the 2 twin beds were these thin rails you were unable to sleep in . our other two guests left because it wa so uncomfortable. the description and location was not accurate . would not recommend

I was a little scared when the taxi dropped me off at this hotel. It was a bit outdated outside and also in the room. The room was tiny all around. However, what I did like was that the breakfast was decent, the staff was a bit reserved but friendly enough, and that the walk over to the Bloom Project Beach Club was a few minutes. There were no restaurants or shopping nearby, but the taxi ride to Glyfada was a short trip.

Such a nice, clean, friendly place. The people were so helpful. Our vacation ended with a hospital stay for my Mother and we had yo stay three extra nights in Athens before we could fly. This was the perfect place. Highly recommend it.

This a family owned cute beach house style hotel. Staff are so lovely and super close to the beach!
Rooms are on a smaller end but it’s cozy.
The beach is so clean with amazing restaurants.

Too many ants!!!!!!!! Hundreds of ants in our room. I complained and the receptionist came up with a chlorine spray and a mop, he sprayed everywhere and swapped the floor. Of course ants were gone but I needed to enhale the chlorine fume. But the next day, ants came back. Also the room's description says this family room accompdates five people. but it's only for two people. Very small room with too many beds.

Small family run resort!

The hotel is great, it's in an awesome location. The road is a little busy but it's walking distance from the beach across the street and all the shops down the road. There's even a metro stop right down the block where you can take the train to Athens and the Port.

Nice hotel located near the beach and outside of the Athens center. After 2 weeks in Europe, this hotel’s recent renovations along with the understanding of their hotel staff, was a great value for the price. I checked in at 2am and still had great service. Also, best bed of my entire trip after staying in hotels for 2 weeks!

Lovely family hotel close to beach and Tram

We enjoyed our 6 night stay at Minavra Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the gorgeous sea.
The tram is just outside the hotel ( it took 40/50 mins to get to central Athens). The bus stop to the airport which took 30 mins was just outside the hotel too.
Glyfada, a lovely rich area with a shopping centre and a variety of restaurants is 5/10 mins walking distance from the hotel.
Overall we had an amazing holiday and we would not hesitate to stay at Minavra Hotel again.

Clean, basic, but with potential security issues.

As expected, the room was basic, which was not a problem for me, and clean. Security was my only issue. As a solo traveller, I am particularly security-conscious. (1) My ground floor room was adjacent to a side entrance door, which appeared to be left open 24/7. Neither this door nor my room door were visible from the reception desk. The lock on the bedroom door did not appear to be very robust, so I felt it could have been easily forced, without anyone noticing. (2) While reception was meant to be manned 24/7, there were times when there was nobody there. One evening I came in around 8pm. There was nobody on reception, so I rang the handbell there. Still nobody came. I had to go behind the reception desk to retrieve my room key (- guests hand in keys when they go out, so that staff can enter rooms to clean). Anybody could have walked in from the street and taken keys to my and/or other rooms (3) There was a small garden between my ground floor balcony and the street. Privacy was achieved on one side by a screen of foliage. The balcony would have been easily accessible from the garden or side street. I always closed the external shutters and locked the very solid balcony doors when I went out for the day. On two days when I returned, the balcony door was open, with only the sliding shutters (very easy to open from balcony) closed. Somebody could easily have climbed unseen on to the balcony and entered the room. (

Very nice staff, clean rooms and great location!

The hotel staff is awesome - very nice, helpful people who do everything to make you feel comfortable. They are always ready for your questions about everything: city, finding some place etc.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel overall has beautiful view and excellent location: it is very close to beautiful Voula beach, bus and tram stations. It's only 10 minutes walk to Glyfada area!!!
I surely recommend this hotel to people who want to have great value for the price!!!

There were friendly staff and an attractive overall appearance of the hotel and the rooms considering the price. Location is very close to the beach and there are some restaurants nearby, but not very much in the area, so you would have to take a bus if you want to find more choice. Air conditioning didn't work!

Great find in Glyfada

This hotel is perfect for a family visiting the beaches of Glyfada. The room sizes are good, very clean and the staff are helpful. The breakfast although chargeable at 6 euros is homemade, generous and worth every penny. This was our second stay and we would stay again.

I'd give it no stars if it were possible !

Very unhelpful staff. Particularly the female proprietor. Horrid woman. They'll try and mince every cent they can get from you. To add, too far from Athens centre. The only plus is the nearby beach. But there are plenty of those by much nicer accommodation. Only booked as last minute and fairly competitive in price. In hindsight would've booked double for the poor treatment from staff. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great value of money for the location and if you're not expecting a big room, this is a great option! However, no kettles in the room or microwave available (it becomes a problem when you have to warm up milk for the little ones) and they don't change the bedding (after six days!). Room was not cleaned during our stay and it looked quite gross under the bed. If you're not fussy or have no children, this is an awesome choice. Staff can be very helpful and their local knowledge came in very handy!

Good location-friendly staff but needs improvement

This was our first stay in this hotel and we stayed for 6 nights.

The hotel is located in a nice neighbourhood along the coast East of Athens near the last Tram Station. There are a few shops and nice restaurants nearby.

Our room was spacious with a balcony, air conditioning, and a refrigerator. The condition of the room was disappointing with many items which require improvement as follows:

1-The room door locking mechanism is inadequate; it barely latched and did not inspire confidence that it would keep us or our belonging safe.
2-Part of the room ceiling molding was missing.
3-The shower head brace was loose and could not hold the shower head in place.
4-The toilet seat was also loose.
5-There was no pin in the toilet roll holder.
6-There was no plug for the sink.
7-There were no clothes hangers in the closet.
8-Only one drinking glass was provided in the room for our entire stay.

Other suggestion: Have directions to the closest private/public beaches, super market, pharmacy, restaurants, Laundromat, medical clinic, etc... printed and ready to hand out to guests.

The hotel staff is very pleasant and genuinely trying to assist hotel guests. This hotel has potential however attention is needed to ensure all room amenities and fixtures are in good working order and hotel staff is provided with additional area information packages so guests can enjoy a more comfortable and relaxing stay.

Not recommended for more than one or two nights. There is a LOT of noise at all hours, not so much from the roadway outside the window, but from the loud talking, slamming of doors, etc. emanating from the lobby and hallway. There is also a constant smell of cigarette smoke as an added irritant. Rooms are reasonably clean, but there are technical issues such as a broken toilet, light bulbs missing, large cobwebs, and other easily rectifiable problems. Would be a good place in a nice location were these issues properly addressed with some minimal effort.

The staff were brilliant always on hand to help and with a smile , there was someone there that spoken English , the beds are squicky and noisy , my room the steam extractor switch pulled off the wall exposing electric wires, my toilet had a big hole on the side which was covered wit piece of chip board duck taped to the wall , it's a cheap cheap hotel rubbish place , would never go back there again absolute dump

Above and beyond hotel service

The hotel owner was super nice and helpful. He really went above and beyond helping us out. We checked in at the hotel at 10pm tired and starving. The hotel owner offered us to-go menus to look at. He even called and placed the orders for us. Then the next day we had to leave at 3:30am to the airport. The hotel owner called a taxi for us and he even negotiated the price over the phone for us. We're so grateful for his hospitality. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood near the ocean.

Great hotel to see Athens!

The hotel is beautiful, booking last minute myself and my friend thought that there wasn't much hope but the rooms were amazing. The location is great, it's opposite a really lovely beach, it is a pay beach but the tram outside heads along the coast to some amazing locations (Attiki beach was the best one!). One day we simply got on without a clue where we were going and just got off at the best looking beach! There's also a bus straight outside the hotel (A2 I think) that goes straight to Athens, the acropolis etc! The hotel is a ten minute walk from Glyfada Square too, in general it was just an absolute great base to see the coast and the city of Athens. The young lady at the reception area spoke great English so always helped us with where we were going and the older gentleman had two small kittens (not running around the hotel for anyone whose not an animal lover - they are kept behind the desk or in the back room) but he was great fun with them!

Ok hotel near airport

We stayed in this hotel the last night of our vacation. It is 20 minute drive to Airport. Thought it would be nice to spend last evening at the ocean. This hotel is right on a super busy 4 Lane road. Really noisy. Not a pleasant area to walk around in. Park at ocean was dark in the evening. Hotel room ok. Bead comfortable but bathroom not very clean. Shower curtain mouldy on the bottom. Really disliked the area. We stayed in 6 hotels and liked all of them except this one. Stay away from this area.

Hotel was in Voula which takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes into downtown Athens by tram and metro so be prepared for long commute back and forth unless you just stay in the Voula and Glyfada area. My last day at the hotel I did not want housekeeping and told the receptionist but when I got back to my hotel room later that night the maid had been in my room and moved around all my stuff. Also the lid of my pen which had fallen on the floor she must have vacuumed it because I could not find it and that pen had been a souvenir. When I went down to the reception to make this complaint, the receptionist just shrugged his shoulders and said nothing.

Convenient stopover

This hotel is ideal if you're looking for a stopover. The room was basic, do not expect any luxuries at all (the room we stayed in seemed to be the cheapest, the other rooms in the hotel looked much better). The staff were friendly and helpful. There is parking outside on some side streets. Just make sure you don't mount the curb when parking as you will most likely get a ticket!

Nice hotel, close to the beach, trams, bus stop.

A family run establishment with a strong desire to please the customer. Great location for seeing Athens and avoiding the inner city. Yet it is on a main thoroughfare and easy to get to anywhere. Great beaches across the street and an easy tram ride south. The staff is very helpful and kind. They understand that customer happiness and contentment is the road to their success. If you are happy with the Motel Six and Days Inn line you will be happy with Minavra, great quality for the price you pay. You'll have the satisfaction of knowing your money invested is going to a great family not a major corporation. This was our second visit there and we probably will return.

Camera al 2^ piano, si nota che i locali sono stati ristrutturati di recente, porte e pavimenti nuovi, mobili molto recenti, color beige gradevoli, illuminazione buona, anche un led a scomparsa, gradevolissimo! Climatizzatore ottimo. Pulizie ineccepibili, cambio asciugamani giornalmente, cambio lenzuola ogni 2 gg. ! (Neppure in un 5*!), bagno piccolino ma va ben lo stesso (forse unico ambiente da rimodernare!)
Colazione semplice c'è un poco di tutto, ma ok !
Unica pecca la zona è trafficata impossibile aprire le finestre!
Il mare si raggiunge a piedi in 3 minuti! Prezzi ottimi 5 euro lettino e ombrellone.
Per il centro Atene tram T5 ci si mette un'ora, prendete il biglietto 5 gg.a 9 euro e il gioco è fatto!
Per Glyfada sempre Tram T5 e in 10 minuti ci arrivate... ma anche a piedi non è un gran problema, negozi, locali, parco giochi, ristoranti... ce n'è per tutti !
