A disappointing experience for dog owners

We stayed at Scandic for one night with our small dog and travelling with a dog apparently means you get the worst room they have, although you pay more than guests without a dog. The room was unfortunately not clean, incredibly hot and had issues that some basic maintenance could have easily solved. The bathroom was very dirty and had black mould on the tiles, the shower was broken so you could not take a shower without hand holding the shower head. When I brought up the issues to the staff, I got a ‘sorry’ but no offer to rectify any of the issues. We were just told ‘that’s our dog room’. Travelling with a dog should not mean you have to live in a dirty room that’s in disrepair. Very disappointing.

we were on 3rd floor with lift access. the room and toilet are big. room is well layout and bright. however, bed is too soft with a sink-in in the middle.

breakfast is enjoyable and though we stayed 5nights we look forward to the breakfast. the restaurant is good too. had a double burger, chicken salad and beer.

traveling to stockholm and will be also staying at another scandic hotel.

Pleasant and comfortable stay

Pleasant hotel a short wall to the centre of Visby (city Walls) located opposite the ferry terminal so don’t expect views over the water. Rooms are spacious and clean, air conditioning for when the temps are too hot. Ample choices at the Breakfast buffet. Pool on site open from 9am to 9pm. Road between hotel and terminal can be a little noisy with some cars playing music too loudly. All in all a pleasant stay, the children were happy.

Excellent hotel at the coast

Fantastic hotel, good breakfast and free parking on the hotel ground. Hotel located right at the ferry terminal, so easy to find hotel on arrival and the same when leaving the island. Short 15 min walk to city center.
During this extreme summer heat, 30 deg C, and room facing west, I was missing Air conditioning.

A nice hotel within walking distance of the ferry terminal, though it's a bit further if you want to walk into the city. Excellent included buffet breakfast, internet terminal in the lobby, and very quiet rooms. A bit unique in that the hotel is made up of individual (separated) buildings, but all within a close distance to the lobby and hotel restaurant.

Great no-frills hotel

I wouldn’t say this hotel is a good value, since we paid well over $200 for it, which is not what it is worth. But, I suppose that should be expected in the short high season in Visby. Also, the free, covered parking was a bonus.

The room was small, but had a few shelves and a hanging rack for clothes. Bed and wifi were both very good. Also, the shower was great! So, no luxuries, but I’d definitely recommend this place to friends.

We were not travelling with dogs this time, but this hotel has a few rooms that have doors that open to patios and grassy space. These would be great for dogs! Even though the hotel was in multiple different buildings, all were very wheelchair friendly.

Breakfast was large, with lots of organic choices – a pleasant surprise!

Negatives: No safe or coffee/tea making facilities in the room.

Fint hotell med god service.
Frukosten vid rusningstid var däremot för dåligt tilltagen samtliga (3) dagarna.
För få bord och det fattades produkter.

Rummen var rätt fina men det fanns ingen Ac vilket gjorde det extremt varmt i rummet under hela vistelsen.
Det var ca 25 C utomhus då, dvs väldigt varmt utomhusklimat.

Vi hade en jättebra vistelse. När vi skulle åka med färjan tidigt på morgonen så fick vi varsina riktigt bra frukostpåsar, enda nedsidan var att ett av bröden väldigt torrt. Annars var det den mest generösa frukostpåsarna jag och min sambo fått.

Under våra förväntningar

Bodde på markplan vid entrédörren som smällde till ordentligt varje gång, det skakade i rummet natten genom.
Inne på rummet väldigt instängd utan någon ventilation eller ac, svårt att sova.
Kuddarna under all kritik. Samt badrummet, gick knappt att gå in genom gnisslande duschdörrar. Ena slog i tvättställ och andra i toalettstolen. Man måste vara smal.
Frukosten var helt okej och personalen var trevlig.
Hotellet ligger bra och nära centrum.

För 1700kr natten så förväntar man sig mer, jaga efter 5-6 spindlar, spindelnät i taket, ingen ac och jättevarmt, frukansvärt dåligt städat med stora dammtussar i hörnen och under sängen. Bekvämligheten av sängen var stenhård och maten på morgonen var medioker men det gick ner. Man förväntade sig bara mer helt enkelt av en så stor kedja som Scandic och för priset som man betalade.

I trygge hænder i Visby 😊

Meget meget venligt og imødekommende personale. Og en madmor, der er Helt fantastisk 👍😃
Selvom vi snakkede dansk, blev vi fuldt ud forstået.
Det var anden gang, at vi besøgte Gotland og begge gange boet på Scandic Visby - og det bliver ikke sidste gang ⭐️⭐️😃

Forsøk å finne ett annet

Bodde på dette hotellet fra mandag til fredag, og var overrasket over at det ikke var noe renhold på rommet under tiden. Det var veldig mye støy enten fra havnen eller ett ventilasjonsanlegg hele natten. Overpriset iforhold til hva man får. Stort pluss for bassengområde, badstu og ett helt ok gym. Veldig bra frokost.

Godt hotel - elendig seng.

Rigtig godt værelse og rigtig god service, men sengen var elendig, da den var alt for blød. En af os fik så ondt i ryggen at vedkommende måtte rykke ned på gulvet - en rigtig rigtig rigtig dårlig nattesøvn

Strategiskt läge i hamnen

Ligger strategiskt vid hamnen och är ett ok hotell. Positivt var att rummet var lagom stort, bra sängar och badrum. Negativt är rummen inte har aircondition och kuddarna är dåliga. Utbudet på frukosten var stort och frukostpersonalen trevlig.

Ett okej hotell.

Överlag ett okej hotell med läget som sin fördel. Men rummen hade nära på ingen nämnvärd ventilation vilket gjorde att det stod helt still och kändes instängt. Man fick till tröst en liten fläkt, men den var tyvärr en ganska klen tröst i värmen. Vi kunde öppna balkongdörr (nedre våning) men den lilla glipa utgjorde inte mycket när man ville ha gardinen för för att inte förbipasserande skulle kunna titta in.
Trevligt med jacuzzi o pool, men jacuzzin blev ofta en slags barnpool och man blir lite tveksam kring hur rent det är i den efter väldigt långa sittningar i den. Sängarna var hårda och obekväma vilket inte är ovanligt för många hotell. Frukostbuffén lämnade lite åt fantasin också, inte så ”wow” som man annars alltid önskar när man bor på hotell. Men den kändes faktiskt tråkig i vår smak. Vill man ha nära till stad o hamn är det ett okej hotell, men är man petig ska man välja annat 😊 personalen väldigt trevlig,serviceminded och tillmötesgående vilket också väger upp ett betyg som annars hade varit betydligt mindre, och det ska Scandic tacka sin personal för.

Fint hotell, rent och välstädat, god frukost. Mycket trevlig och glad personal, särskilt i restaurangen. Det enda negativa var att det kostade 90 kr per dygn att parkera på hotellparkeringen.

Morgenmaden er ikke noget at skrive om. Jævn kedelig. Meget salt røræg og tørre boller. Parkering er også lidt underligt, da p plads er opdelt i små områder, hvorved det er lidt svært at forlade sin plads og håbe på at den er ledig, for ikke at stoppe parkering i P appen, med ekstra omkostning til følge.
