This is a typically wonderful Scandic hotel with excellent service, great beds, and decadent breakfasts and is right across the road from the Central Train Station. It also has a good, though oddly painted dark, gym. The outside is safe but a lot of smokers and drunks hang out there.

The only thing that was a bit unusual, we booked the deluxe room and were expecting a sitting area, but only got one chair and a stool at a tiny desk. It did not look like the picture n the internet. It only bugged me on the one day we had rain and hung out in the room for a bit.

A pleasant hotel but the reception area is very small and the rest of the building comprised corridors with rooms and no social space (that I could find). Helpful receptionists but not 24/7. Breakfast OK but unremarkable. Nice Swedish decor but elements of the hotel looked tired (eg room documentation and signs, broken steps up to the entrance).

Booked the room becuse they advertised WiFi and Caboe TV and we really needed both . WiFI was horrible and cable TV didn’t even exist. Blaming myself for not checking reviews better beforehand because then I would have seen that already in 2021and 2022 hotel got bad reviews for just WiFi and cable . The girls that worked in the front desk was absolutely amazing and very sweet and helpful and helped us solve our issues the best they could being very creative. Cable TV doesn’t exist there even though they advertise it and WiFi seams to be a problem owners have no intention to solve . The hotel

Lovely old, historic building in a quiet setting inside the Visby ring wall, with a small park out front and close to everything. Nice, comfortable, atmospheric room and hearty breakfast spread in the morning. My main criticisms are that I couldn't get the promised cable TV channels to work and the wifi kept cutting out, which was important because I had some work to do. Would recommend Hotell Slottsbacken is price and connectivity aren't your main priorities.

Ett på alla sätt mycket trevligt litet hotell som dock kan kräva lite extra info för att njuta av till fullo. Huvudentrén är via ganska höga trappor vilket gör att man bör gå in via frukostrummet om man har tyngre väskor. För finns sedan en hiss. Prata med receptionen innan. Det finns inte luftkonditionering vilket gör att det c trots mycket grova stenväggar, kan bli lite varmt i rummen efter en värmeperiod. Det går dock utmärkt att vädra.

Fantastic small hotel on a historic island. GOTLAND -Visby - well located , walking distance to all restaurants, sights and shopping within the wall. Short walk from Ferry Terminal. Skulle bare bruge det som start på Gotlandsleden og vi kom sent ind på færgen, men alt var på plads og det var nemt at komme ind med kode som var blevet sendt inden. Værelset var dejligt og morgenmad gave en god start på cykelferie, vi var lidt kede af vi ikke var der en dag mere.

Lille hyggeligt hotel hvor man føler sig velkommen. Det ligger tilpas tæt på gaderne hvor alle restauranter og barer ligger, men også langt nok væk til at det er meget stille og roligt omkring hotellet.
