Very friendly and helpful staff and kept rooms and everywhere very clean. So much choice at breakfast. A great stay 2 minutes to the beach and easy walk in Santa Maria.

Clean, stylish room ( we had a junior suite), lively gardens around pool- full credit to cleaners gardeners and the staff we met. It’s not in the beach ( 3 min short walk ) on a road but not noisy and hid from view with cleaver design touches. The problem is in some policies. Charging for water in the room is outrageous. It’s not complimentary coffee when you have to spend £2.50 to put water in the machine. Straight off a flight, with no water and paying for it - no shops nearby at all, is really poor. A hotel at this price should have complimentary room water, every day.

Relaxing hotel

Clean, well-kept hotel with large pool, garden and beach area (across the street). This hotel is a nice place to relax compared to louder mega hotels in the resort.

Breakfast was lovely and varied. However, two suggestions from me: Please provide free bottled water daily in the room and more fresh juice options at breakfast.

I would definitely stay here again and look forward to doing so.

It's small, a family run feel, which we like the low key, personal, quiet experience. Paula at reception and all other staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. That makes it easy and comfortable. Our room was ideal, good space in a double room, private balcony and beautiful colours of Bourganvillea to admire, a well maintain green garden space and pool in the centre. We had breakfast in the hotel every day, however we were away by day and dined out across the island. Very simple, easy walk down into Santa Maria or across the road to the beach and beach board walk.

The room was OK, evening dinners were ok and the hotel is well located - 5min walk to a lovely beach, 15mins walk to town centre, restaurants etc.

Breakfast was poor - limited choice, poor quality, constantly running out of glasses, cups, cutlery. Coffee and juice machines repeatedly out of order. No GF offering. In a word chaotic.

Lift was often not working properly, with door only partially opening.

Most of the staff were friendly and reasonably helpful though some were fairly indifferent if not rude in their service.

Overall, very poor value for money hotel in my opinion

The lowrise building, simplicity, gentle and genuinely helpful staff and service was appealing.

The hotel was peaceful, quiet rooms and lovely hammock areas, yoga in the garden, top floor small gym, reading and relaxing spaces and a short walk across the road to the beautiful beach and a 15 min walk into the centre of Santa Maria along the beach boardwalk. Lovely time.

To Whom It May Concern:

What I liked about the property is that it is centrally located and convenient to everything. The uniqueness had a gym.

What I did not like going to the gym, and there weren’t any Towels, trash can or anything to disinfect the machine before or after use.

Dated Hotel in Santa Maria

This is an aging hotel that would benefit from some modernization and updates. It is located a fair walk from the town or any stores, and there is currently a massive construction project across the street (that will be underway for what looks like quite a long time) that is blocking any access to the beach (and creating noise pollution). The buffet breakfast is decent, the pool is nice and sheltered, and the staff was kind. The limited access to wifi, which is only available in the restaurant and lobby, and requires frequent 1-hour vouchers to use, is an insult given the cost of the hotel.

Rooms are very basic, but clean and have all you need. Strange are the changes for using safe in the room.
Internet works only near reception and restaurant (but is free). We had breakfast included in the room price
but lunch and diner is expensive for N.Am. standard.

Lovely hotel, very comfy and clean with good service. Pool and surrounding area was extremely clean and would come again! Were b&b and this suited us just right as plenty of places to eat within a 15-20 min walk.

Small quiet hotel with lovely pool and near beach

The staff were lovely and friendly and helpful. The location is presently peaceful but the Hilton is being built opposite and is between it and the beach. Development of further hotels is everywhere, so it will be very different in 10 years. Near enough to town to walk in for supper in various restaurants. Not a lot to do on Sal bar water sports but beach and sea are great! We took bus to Espargos and then taxi to old salt works, which was interesting. Breakfast fine with lots of choice and fresh fruit.

Holiday hotel for Sal.

Dunas de Sal it's a very good hotel, service is good, food is excellent, 10 minutes walk to beach or city center. It's definitely a good place to stay for a week or two.

It is modern and small 4* hotel, not overcrowded, so you can enjoy privacy. Has a nice swimming pool. Close to the beach and Santa Maria village. Restaurant is good (quality of food), comparing even with ‘famous’ hotel ‘Morabeza’. We have visited all 5*-4* hotels in the Island and were satisfied with the choice. If you expect luxury, then Sal is not a right destination at all. It is more oriented for low budget travels.

Nous avons trouvé cet hébergement en dépannage suite à une erreur de réservation sur un autre établissement.
Nous avons été très satisfait par la gentillesse et la qualité du personnel .
Mais déçus par certains points qui ne sont correspondent pas au standing affiché et au prix :
la salle de bain avec une baignoire et déco d'un autre age .
Nous étions obligé de fermer le vasistas de la salle de bain pour ne pas entendre le ronflement de la ventilation des cuisines situées juste sous la chambre .
Il fallait souscrire un abonnement payant pour avoir les chaines nationales françaises à la TV.
Dernier point négatif sont les délais d'attente des plats au restaurant ( 1 heure en moyenne de délai entre le choix des plats et le service )
Points positifs :
la qualité, la gentillesse et le professionnalisme de tout le personnel avec lequel nous avons été en contact .
La qualité des plats servis au restaurant .
En bref un bon séjour

Passamos dias muito bons no Hotel Dunas de Sal. Ficamos em uma suite junior muito espaçosa e a atenção de todos os funcionários merece destaque. Foream gentis e prestativos, nos ajudaram imenso com problemas que tivemos que resolver durante a estadia.

HOTEL PERFEITO!!

Foi uma experiência muito agradável hospedar nesse hotel. Os funcionários são muito educados, atenciosos e solícitos. Agradeço demais o atendimento diferenciado que nos deram.
O café da manhã era muito gostoso. Tudo novinho, alguns itens preparados na hora mesmo, ao gosto do cliente.
A área de lazer era impecável. Uma piscina ótima para prática de natação ou mesmo para recreação. As redes no jardim são uma ótima oportunidade para um descanso ao ar livre.
O hotel fica próximo da praia, próximo do cassino, e tb muito próximo da parte comercial/turística de Sal. Deu pra fazer tudo andando poucos metros.
O quarto muito limpo, a internet excelente.
Consegui até mesmo assistir um jogo de futebol via internet em HD. E o meu Cruzeiro ganhou!!!!
Quando eu retornar a Sal, com certeza esse será o meu hotel!

Abbiamo soggiornato la settimana dal 3 ottobre 2018 , e ci siamo trovati molto bene.
A due passi dal mare e a 15 min dal centro di Santa Maria.
La colazione è molto varia, anche se un po’ più di frutta non ci sarebbe dispiaciuta.
Buone le pulizie della camera.

Das Hitel ist noch nicht ganz fertig renoviert, die Zimmer sind jedoch sehr schön ausgestattet, und man merkt nicht viel von den Umbauarbeiten.
Der Pool ist sehr hübsch gestaltet. Dank seiner überschaubaren Grösse geniesst man ebenfalls Ruhe und Privatsphäre.
Strand und Restaurants sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar.
Wir würden das Hotel sofort weiterempfehlen.

Schöne Poolanlage

Überschaubares Hotel mittelgrosses Hotel mit schöner Poolanlage. Ideal, wenn der direkte Strand und Meerblick nicht wichtig ist. In 15 Min. zu Fuss ist man im Dorf, kann problemlos zu zweit auch nachts gemacht werden. Rund ums Hotel wird gebaut oder es sind Bauvorhaben angekündigt. Während unserem Aufenthalt war Baupause und es war sehr ruhig.
Der Strand und das Wasser in Santa Maria sind super (weisser Sand, hohe Wellen, glasklares Wasser).
Santa Maria als Ort bietet nicht viel, es hat aber viele gute, hübsche Bars, Restaurants und Feriengefühl kommt auf. Auf dem Steg und Dorfplatz ist immer etwas los.

Joli hôtel avec belle piscine

Très jolie cour intérieure avec cette grande piscine, les palmiers et les hamacs (j'adore les hamacs). Dommage que ça se construise autour. Mer à 500m (sable blanc et eau turquoise). Dommage que beaucoup de produits à la carte aient été manquants. Et qu'il ait fallu demander absolument tous les jours les sachets de thé au petit déjeuner car ils étaient systématiquement oubliés. Mais le personnel était adorable. Hôtel principalement occupé par des allemands et des hollandais.
Quasiment tous les vols arrivant ou partant de Sal sont au milieu de la nuit, hors la chambre est à rendre à 12h. Il serait bien de proposer une solution (salle de bain) pour que les clients puissent faire quelque chose de leur après-midi et prendre une douche avant de repartir. La facturation de la demi-journée, quand c'est libre) est un peu onéreuse compte-tenu du fait que nous perdons également la moitié de notre nuit en arrivant sur l'île.

Très bon hôtel, propre design et personnel efficace. Bémol, coffre payant, wifi payant (partiel) et caution pour les serviettes de douche.
Restauration correcte mais un peu chère.
Situation: excentrée du côté des grands complexes mais faisable à pied. Proche de la plage.

In ten years - this would be paradise on earth

We liked our staying very much. The service in the hotel, especially the restaurant, was not Always the best. Prices are also quite high in Cape Verde in general. At the same time, the weather was almost perfect and the hotel offers a nice pool and several opportunities to relax. We Think that the staff and the society in Cape Verde in general, needs some more years to develope and reach its full potential.

hotel confortable mais le considere plutôt comme un trois etoiles plutôt que quatre en plus j'ai paye le prix fort bien que pas haute saison (ni novembre ), accueil plutôt froid
il faut savoir qu'un grand hotel est en chantier devant mais pas trop de nuisances, pour atteindre la plage il faut marcher 300 sur un chemin le long de ce chantier pour atteindre la plage et encore 200m pour atteindre le bord de mer plutôt vente avec les alizes. c'est un hotel un peu dans un no mans land a 20 mn de marche du charmant village de santa maria et de ses restaurants et boutiques anîme

Idealer Ort um die Seele baumeln zu lassen.

Das Hotel hat voll und ganz unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Das Personal ist sehr nett und freundlich. Im Moment gibt es eine Baustelle direkt gegenüber auf der andern Strassenseite. Doch wurden wir dadurch überhaupt nicht gestört und diese Tatsache hat uns das Hotel vor unserer Anreise mitgeteilt und sich dafür entschuldigt! (Was ja nicht ihre Schuld ist!) Das Hotel ist von seiner Grösse her sehr angenehm, der Pool ist perfekt, das Morgenessen lässt fast keine Wünsche übrig, die Menüs am Abend sind korrekt.

Für dieses Land ein Hotel mit überschaubarem Angebot. Super ist die eigene Tauchbasis. Der Service ist toll und die Küche hervorragend. Es ist nicht so gross, daher lernt man schnell alle kennen.
Einziges Manko die Matratzen, man spürt die Federn.
