The property by itself is dated, but seems to be going through some renovations. The outdoor pool was half full of dirty water, and someone was grinding cement outside in the courtyard while we were there.
The room was clean, but the refrigerator compressor was making banging noises all night, they said to just unplug it… Location is just off the main road, so ok for a stop traveling through. Some rooms were pet friendly and smoking, not all. I liked that because we didn’t want either of those things. I wouldn’t go there for a relaxing vacation. Maybe it will be better in the summer- I don’t know.

Staff were nice, let me check in early. Hot water wasn't working well the afternoon I checked in, would only produce luke warm/ room temp water until the next morning. I may have also got pink eye from their pillow. Woke up with gunk coming out of my eye, which was also extremely irritated and red(slept face down on the pillow) so be cautious of that.

Simply a clean, convenient and economical stay. I read reviews AFTER I booked and was worried until I got there and inspected the room. Got a free upgrade to two queen beds, which was nice to have the extra space. Efficient, clean which is my biggest must, and while recently renovated, some details have yet to be seen to. Appears to me that the worst reviews must be from previous ownership as my stay was great, relative to the cost per night. 108 bucks a night made my trip stress free on the wallet.

I loved the massive family rooms. Location is good to most things. We walked to the beach and market. It’s a long walk with kids. But we did it. Love the sitting area by the pool. Rooms are extremely dated but not an issue for us. Not as clean as i would have liked it but im a clean freak. Beds were good and kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. Would stay agin because of the large rooms.

Very noisy as it’s right on highway 97. The pool was a nice touch but I only saw cleaning one day out of four that I was there! On my second day I developed a bacteria infection, could be from anything, but the coincidence seems strange! There was an old blood stain on the bedspread. No coffee maker in the room. No coffee in the main lobby. The dish towel looked like a torn rag. The bath matt looked a torn rag. The light fixture in the bathroom was full of dead flies. There was a squished mosquito on the bathroom wall. One of the stove elements was full of previous guests spills! The bath exhaust fan looked like it was ready to fall down. The hosts seemed nice but a little more attention to details and cleanliness would’ve gone a long way, in my opinion! I don’t plan to stay here again. Sorry.

Unfortunately we had a pretty unpleasant stay here, we originally booked 2 nights, ended up having a family emergency which meant we couldn’t come for the Friday night booking, management was pretty unhelpful and not very understanding. We had a funeral to attend and when we expressed our situation to them they didn’t offer much help. All they said was “there’s a two night minimum” which meant we lost 250$. Which I understand policy and things like that but there was zero compassion or understanding extended to us which felt, not so nice. When we did arrive the next day, we got to our room and it stunk very badly like cigarette smoke. When we communicated this to the front desk staff, they seemed unphased, their suggestion was spraying febreeze in the room… and their only reply to our concern with the smell was reassuring us that all the rooms were non smoking. With no where else to stay and close to 500$ down the drain we decided to just stay but I would recommend booking accommodations else where in Penticton because this motel wasn’t it.

I don’t have high expectations at this price point but have found Sahara to be clean, comfortable bed and efficient staff. I have stayed here on three occasions and never been disappointed. The pool is a nice bonus.

Tv : different channels. Watched olimpiv games live! Hot water in shower did not stop at night )) The only thing is a conditioner near the bed and my husband was a bit freezing ))) Overall, I really reccomend this motel, you will not regret !
