This hotel was great in its time. Has all you need w restaurant on site and walkable to everywhere. Hotel is a bit dated re carpets and walls etc; for business was a bit hard to find plugins and had to use plug by coffee maker for my hair dryer and iron vs in bathroom.

The staff were nice and the room was clean but it was very run down. The elevator smelled so bad I had to hold my breath until I got off. The pool and hot tub were not available. The electric heat took several hours to get the room up to 20° and the ice bucket had no lid. Even if the pool and hot tub had been working, the hours are limited because of the atrium design, so if you're only staying one night because you're there for a show, you don't have any time to use them. They say they are renovating in the fall of 2026 so maybe it will be better then. They were very good about refunding my money and because they were so helpful, I will definitely give them another try after renovations.

Standard mid tier hotel. Rooms need updating but they were clean well where it matters. Would be nice if they changed the sheets when you ask for a room refresh. Instead they just make the bed. Could hear people upstairs and in hallways, but not bad with a sound machine on.

I booked this hotel for a spring break staycation with my boys. We chose this hotel specifically for the pool. When we checked in, we were informed the pool was closed for maintenance. The hot tub was unavailable as well. This was incredibly disappointing!! If I had received a message when I booked saying the pool was unavailable, I would have cancelled and picked somewhere differebt. There were also several hockey teams staying at the same time so it was a bit chaotic as far as noise. Kids will be kids, I get it, but at times a bit excessive. We will not be going back.

Warning to anyone that gets a room on the second floor at the back of the hotel, they have a weight room, floor hockey rink and a pickleball court on the third floor above about 6-8 of the guest rooms on the second floor. Was the worst racket I have heard on the ceiling of a hotel room in 35 years of staying in hotels. The hotel knows this and pretends that no one could or should be bothered by it. The only reason I gave this a 2 Star is because the fellow at the front desk was kind enough to move us to a different room for the remainder of our stay. Maintenance is borderline…the tub tap and kitchen tap sprayed water all over when turned on, and the bathroom sink drainpipe leaked all over the bathroom floor. Bottom line…not worth the money or hassle…better hotels in Penticton.

I was sad to enter my very small room and find outdated furnishing, a worn out bed, stained curtains, hairs in my bed, hairs in the bathroom in many areas, one towel that appeared to have been used. I attempted to amend my reservation to reflect a corporate discount and the staff was unable to figure out how, they still have not provided a receipt or correct payment completion. The hot tub was broken, the pool area was not as expected and the halls were filled with shoes left behind from very noisy hockey teams that slammed doors until late. A generator was running outside my window until nearly 2am. I have no interest in returning.

We had a great stay overall. The indoor floor hockey room and pickleball were amazing for the kids—they had a blast and it kept them really entertained. The pool was also great and a nice way for everyone to relax.

The hot tub being out of service was a major bummer for the adults, though. That was something we were really looking forward to. The hotel itself is a bit older, but it was fairly priced so we weren’t expecting anything too fancy. Overall, it was a good stay for the price and a fun spot for families, especially with the activities for kids.

Hotel definitely needs some TLC, my room was okay but door to patio wouldn’t open, was dark and a lot of things that need attention. Hot tub was shut down which is the reason I booked a hotel with a hot tub, even called prior to check in and wasn’t notified of this. I couldn’t get a hold of Bar One after multiple attempts. Hallway was always a mess… okay hotel but not worth $200/night.

As expected for a budget property. It did the job for having somewhere to sleep and was clean but very dated. The check in person was very clearly not enjoying his job and had zero personality. Checking out though was lovely and the lady at the front desk was great. Again, it's in a convenient spot to the SOEC and we did get a pretty good sleep. I would recommend, just with the caveat that is not top shelf!

The noise from the pool area was incredible. We could not even have a conversation in our room the screaming was so loud. It didn’t stop until 10 o’clock, and then children and teenagers were thundering down the hallways for another 20 to 25 minutes. It was so loud that it was actually comical, or would’ve been if I hadn’t been up since two in the morning and hoping to get to bed at around nine.

The hotel was so busy when we arrived that after waiting about half hour and seeing that we might still have more than an hour’s wait to check in, we left to go for dinner and came back several hours later. We only had to wait 10 minutes to check in then.
The rooms were clean and in reasonably good shape and the hotel itself was in good shape and the staff was super friendly.
They were very short staffed at the Denny’s and after waiting 20 minutes to be seated, we left to go somewhere else for breakfast. Only half the restaurant was full, but they didn’t have the staff to seat people or to serve people.

I will never stay at this hotel again. I strongly advise the manager or owner of this hotel to check himself into one of the rooms when the pool is active and see what they think about having it open till 10 o’clock at night. The very least they should be doing is offering ear protection to the unsuspecting victims who show up thinking they might have a chance of a good night sleep.

The was litter on the backside of the building by the parking lot in the back.
The hallway carpets need to be replaced.
When I when to the lobby to check out , I can smell someone’s BO.
Other than those few things … my stay was really good and I will use this Sandman again.

Room was clean but quite dated. Small holes in the wall in various parts of the room and throughout hotel itself. Bathroom sink drains very slowly, mini fridge makes constant noise, and wifi is patchy at best at all times throughout the day and night.
Unfortunately there was a group of teenagers staying in hotel on the weekend and nothing but running up and down the hall screaming at the top of their lungs, banging their doors etc...no hotel security to be found anywhere..Definitely get what you pay for with this property - likely choose another when I'm back in town

The hotel itself is old. Has had some basic renovations over the years. A lot of visible wear and tear. Bed was comfortable enough for 1 night. There was hockey tournament in hotel - lots of kids - lots of hall noise. Turned the AC fan on all night to drown out the hall noise it worked pretty good. Overall I would not stay here again, but only because I think there are better options that offer better value and include breakfast.
Pool hours also are not great mostly because other rooms look out onto pool. So imgours are 10am to 10pm. No option for an early swim.

It was exactly what I needed for a 2 nights stay for skiing. I stayed during the winter months. I booked the morning I arrived and still got a reduced price. This would not be possible during the summer. It’s great to have a bar in the hotel and a 24 hr Denny restaurant. The rare indoor pool/hot tub was perfect after skiing. Other hotels offering this is more expensive. A cafe would be great for chilling around the hotel…this is not a complaint. They a large gym and a small floor hockey rink for kids. This is would be great for families with young ones. This is a basic and priced well hotel that works for me. Cheers

The guy working front desk was great!! Very fast and knowledgeable! The room was sweltering hot so the heat had to be turned off and a window opened right away. The bed was nice and comfy room was decently clean. The room was right beside and exit door for the stairs and there was 6 hockey teams there so the noise from running up and down stairs and doors opening and slamming shut because there is no slow closing mechanism on any of the doors for room or exit doors kept me up all night.
Trying to make coffee in a tiny little machine that is plugged into an extension cord and shoved in the back corner of the cabinet was not easy so I unplugged and moved to the bathroom so I could see what I was doing..

When I checked in the door cards were not activated. We tried them every which way on the door from parking lot then our room door wouldn’t turn green to open. My husband ran down to front desk to get them activated. That was a little annoying as our room wasn’t close to the front desk.
Room was nice but when I went to use the hairdryer there was no plug socket in bathroom. Closet socket was in the coffee bar area and I had to unplug everything to get the large hairdryer plug into the one and only socket in that area. I needed the mirror so the lay out to use hairdryer while looking in a mirror you need to unplug everything at the coffee bar. Both sides of bed could use a nightstand.

Good value for money. However it is full of crack addicts and my room had the vending machine just outside so you'd hear them at all hours. Staff were courteous enough. And none of the street people living there were rude or threatening in any way. But it's definitely a budget option.
