Our stay at The Azure Villas was lovely. We stayed for 4 nights our room was amazing, bed very comfortable and great shower. Our fridge was not working on arrival but was dealt with very promptly. Was also nice having a pool to cool down in at the end of the day. My only feedback was in the description online it shows photos of the main house with kitchen/dining area. We were in one of the villas located separately at the rear of the building and was told we were not aloud to use the house facilities. They supplied us with a small kitchen option which was separate to the main house and was not as well equipped as the main house kitchen. This was not mentioned in the advert so I was lead to believe we had use of all the facilities. Also they supplied a bbq area. This needs replacing as very rusty and dirty would never of used it ! Apart from that everything else was great.

Really cute place. I mean it is was good and environment was fun. Good walking distance to the beach. Free parking inside the property and on surrounding streets. Only thing I’d suggest taking your own pillow if you don’t like them too hard. Bed was really comfortable though.

This was very disappointing and will not be booking here again. The rest of the place was satisfactory but I paid a premium for something that was not there so overall has left a bad taste in my mouth and will be seeking a fefund

Single family house expanded into 8 units shared….

Our experience at Azur was disappointing, primarily due to poor communication, misleading advertising, and unprofessional management.
1.Severe Lack of Communication
Our booking confirmation through Expedia explicitly stated that we needed to contact the lodge directly. However, the phone number provided was invalid. Upon arrival, we found an unmanned front desk with only a blackboard directing us back to the confirmation email for check-in—an absolute dead end. There was no clear way to reach staff for assistance, making the check-in process frustrating and disorganized.
2.Deceptive Photos & Misleading Advertising
The lodge’s online pictures painted a vastly different image than reality. The property looked far more worn-down than advertised, with noticeable signs of neglect. There was no sign of the jacuzzi that was supposedly included in the amenities. The lack of maintenance was evident throughout the property, which also happened to be listed for sale—something that might explain the overall disregard for guest experience.
3.Unprofessional & Dismissive Management
We requested an upgrade to Azur Beach House on three separate occasions, only to be met with vague, dismissive responses from the so-called manager. When I asked for his name to document our negative experience in a review, he refused to spell it out and ultimately hung up on me after I asked for the third time. We got a last minute deal for 1 night in Tallows Villa at Azur, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We had undercover free parking, which you entered from the lane behind the property, which was excellent. Self check-in was fine, and the villa was beautifully cool on arrival.
The villa was very spacious and clean; the king sized bed was super comfy; the decor was nice and minimal; the bathroom was big, with a good shower, and the air con was fabulous on a really hot day and night. We had a big verandah with a very large daybed and a beautiful cane hanging chair.
We didn't get to use the pool, but the entire pool and outdoor area looked gorgeous.
There was, however, no information whatsoever regarding the property's communal kitchen - or that breakfast ingredients were supplied for the use by guests, and there were appliances and a large fridge for use - which would have been very helpful.
And the phone was not manned and no-one returns calls. They did eventually reply to my email just before we drove to the property.
We would definitely stay again.

No one there for check in - had to call a number to get the code to the door (that you could literally just push open), then they tell you which room you are in and the door is open and unlocked. The key is inside the room. There is no spa/hot tub as pictured. I wish I read the reviews a bit more before booking. The shower was moldy. Definitely an older building and it shows. The A/C was a pain to work and the TV remote did not work at all. The bed was nice and it was decorated well but not the luxury feel you would expect from the listing. I will be electing to stay somewhere else on my next trip to Byron.

It started with someone else in my room and when he left the owner did t even check if all was ok, she seemed annoyed I’d called her to tell her about it. The place is very run down with doors rotting wood and tiles broken in the bathroom. The shower was full of mould. There is construction right next door that started at 7am with jackhammer and circular saws, no mention of this on the booking site or at check in. It seems it’s next door to a “party house” that went until after 1am. Spa is non existent, old tea bags in pot plants. I could go on forever. Will never be back!!!!!

I dont even know where to begin with reviewing this horrific experience we had at this property. The house is NOT a luxury booking, and should never be listed for the price it is. The host is uncontactable before, during or after the stay. The accommodation is unsafe and not secure. There is no parking on site, and the rest of the shared space is a glorified hostel. We \"checked in\" without anyone on site and after seeing what we walked into, we called Expedia and said we could not leave our family here. They said it was up to the host to honor a refund. We tried calling, messaging, dm'ing on social and emailing with no response either. I spent that evening driving around with my three young children in tears looking for somewhere else to stay after an 8 hour travel day in peak holiday period. They charged us almost 1k a night for a scam. We received an email the next day saying they refused to refund us. And Expedia said, that was all they could do. The next day we went back to the accommodation and saw that there were people living in it, and it was listed as booked online. We confirmed this with the guests. Not only is this highly illegal but immoral and disgusting that Expedia and this host could allow this to happen. We are still fighting them on our refund. I will not stand by and allow anyone else to be scammed like we were for something this despicable. Shame on you Azur.

The room itself is lovely, I note there is minimal soundproofing and a lot of shared common areas, it is important to know that the hotel allows parties so if you are a light sleeper (like me) don't stay here unless you plan on spending your nights listening to other visitors' drunken midnight conversations and stomping around.

With only 6 rooms it was less like a hotel. Room was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The communal kitchen area was a wonderful addition where there was complimentary juices, coffee tea etc and breakfast items. Complimentary Netflix was a great bonus. would have loved to use the spa but was covered so figured not working and no one to ask. Overall a cool place to stay. Would stay again

Fantastic hotel, with great rooms in a 'beach/forest hut' style. Although this hotel is extremely central, close to the beach and the town center, it felt like we really had our own area of privacy and somewhere away from the main hustle bustle of the town. With a pool and a jacuzzi, this hotel offers the option to relax around the room, which we utilized on the day that the weather was cloudy. The staff and owners are also very friendly and welcoming, ensuring that all our needs were met. Also, great, free, easy, convenient on road parking was great. Thank you very much for welcoming us to your hotel and we look forward to coming back.

Adults only doesn't mean adult behaviour

Unfortunately we stayed whilst a group of young guys decided it was a great idea to overrun the hot tub all afternoon allowing no one else to use it and subsequently stayed up all night drinking, swearing and yelling in the communal areas including the pool and hot tub. We asked them to stop repeatedly (which was a scary situation to be put in) and had to ring management but they weren't onsite so no resolution. It honestly ruined our stay. Lack of privacy as room looks straight out to communal area so makes the room quite dark having to keep curtains drawn. Onsite management would have saved all the guests staying that weekend from a terrible stay. Was given a refund for that night and offended guests kicked out. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing place then maybe consider elsewhere or find out what other guests are staying.

The adult aged children of the owners were making noise in the swimming pool after midnight with friends so we were unable to get to sleep.

Decent place in walking distance to beach and city

When we arrived for check in, for my husbands birthday, they were fairly non interested, and pointed us to our room. While he wasn't rude, it would have been nice if he had made the effort of putting a shirt on so he could show us our room. The rooms were clean, and the cleaner was very nice, but never saw either of the owners again. I didn't mind so much except that it felt a bit like they are a bit over having people stay with them so didn't put in any effort, to the point of neglect. Didn't see them at check out either. For the price charged it's fairly disappointing.
The location is good though, as it is a 5 minute walk to the main beach and centre of town, and there is parking and a nice plunge pool, which helped as the sea conditions were so bad we couldn't swim there at the time.

Our New Year's stay here was perfect. The room and private bathroom were cool,spacious and luxurious. There was also a fantastic resort style pool and outdoor jacuzzi. There was a bar fridge in the room, but also a separate full-size kitchen for the use of all guests. And there were only 4 other rooms on the property so common facilities didn't have to be shared by too many people and it was relatively quiet. It was literally only a 5 minute walk to the centre of town and the beach. And to cap it all off Alec, our host, was very helpful, and generously gave us a nice New Year's present of champagne and a box of chocolates. We will definitely stay again when we return.

NOT SO RELAXING STAY IN BYRON BAY

My partner and I booked 3 nights at Aaron's, hoping for a relaxing weekend in Byron. Our first night was just what we wanted.
Unfortunately we weren't aware that as well as the 5 king or queen guestrooms, the complex also has a 3 bedroom house that is also rented out. On this occasion it was occupied by 10 guys on a drunken weekend. They smoked on our verandah (in a non smoking complex) causing our room to stink. A few of them used the jacuzzi at 3am and talked loudly, and drank until almost 4am, leaving empty bottles and half eaten kebabs all over the common area, as well as clothes in the pool. They drank and smoked in the common area on Saturday afternoon, making it uncomfortable for anyone else to use the facilities. On Sunday at 1:30am, one of the guys came home with a girl and they used the jacuzzi again, before asked them to go inside. Our guestroom was attached to the main house, so we could hear everything they did, as well as their alarm which went off at 6am.
Because no staff stay at the complex, and the mobile number on their website is wrong, we had to send an email to complain.
We received a reply on Sunday (once we were home) apologising. We were offered a free night as compensation and assured Aaron's @ Byron are \"taking measures to avoid that in the future\".

I just wanted to warn other couples that it would be worth checking before you book, to find out exactly who is using the 3 bedroom house. If it's not other couples, the place is like a busy hoste

I like the actual set up of the resort, however we were unfortunately given a room that didn't make our stay as enjoyable as it could have been. Despite having numerous rooms free we were given the room that was attached to the main house. This meant we never received any sun into the room at all, resulting in it being cold & meant the one towel we were given remained wet for our entire stay. Not comfortable trying to dry yourself with a wet towel every day. We also had to tolerate the noise coming from the main house, including someone using a drill at 730am. Giving us the worse room possible simply doesn't make sense when you have plenty of rooms available.

We only stayed overnight but were greeted on arrival. Great hot water pressure and shower head; we were passing through town after a festival up north, so really appreciated it. Didn't get to use the hot tub because we were exhausted, but it was running when we arrived. Found a super soft blanket in the cupboard, all the little comforts were fantastic. Although we didn't get to meet Aaron the owner, we had a very pleasant stay. We arrived late on the Friday night and after calling Aaron, he told us our keys were on the bed of our room. He also allowed us to park in the secure carpark out the back. The room was comfortable, clean and tidy. Everything you need for a short stay, and close to everything. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

A great location. Short walk to town & beach - very convenient. However, no cleaning of my room during my 4 day stay and I had to ask for clean towels & to service the room. Got the towels but no clean bath mat etc. and room did not get serviced. Considering the price I paid was similar to hotel - not really impressed.

Not bad, not good either.

No nice sun in the room we had. 3 other rooms aspect looked OK.
No table in the room or chairs to sit on, only a small poky couch facing the wrong way.
Also the share kitchen for all 5 units was on the other side of our bed head wall !!
Pool was cold, spa looked uninviting, & cabana had those public toilet UV lights - very odd.
We had to ask for change of towels after 4 days, & laundry sat on neighbouring verandah for 2 days.
Free WiFi didn't really work at all.

Cosy, comfortable and close to town

The rooms are modern and comfortable and within walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The spacious rooms have everything you need and secure parking on site.

Tepid shower - brrrrrrrr!

When it comes to hotels, I'll suffer brocade bedspreads over a cold shower. The rooms here are modern and well appointed, but my enthusiasm was dampened by short, tepid showers.
