The common areas of the property are nice, and clean. Our room was filthy and the bathroom was old and in poor shape. Shower curtain was torn, the shower would not drain. By the end of my shower the water was ankle deep.

There was hair all over the floor and on shower walls. The shower had mildew and cracked areas. In general, the bathroom needs some repair and deep cleaning.

The staff was friendly, but did not follow through with my request to fix the shower drain issue.

Housekeeping came every day, but the same dirty areas remained. That indicates poor management of the employee performance. Perhaps a periodic management inspection.

We walked over the same debris (torn cloth) laying in the floor aisle way from the elevator area. It became a joke because it laid there 5 days despite housekeeping walking over it all day.

Bottom line, I will not stay there again until I read about a renovation.

Food was good, staff friendly, lots of amenities, beach service was good, valet was good, location was great. Housekeeping and room condition was poor. It would be inexpensive to renovate the restroom to a decent condition.

Is my second time here and I plan to come back, the view is amazing, the pool waiter is fantastic, you can get everything inside the hotel (food, drinks), no need to leave the premises, last day you can still use the pool and beach until you want to go home…

Have been coming here for 4 years on a row. Unfortunately this time they give me room that was probably storage room at some point. Bad insulation, first floor. You can hear every single noise. Very disappointing because I love this place. Food is amazing. Pool is nice and beach is the best.

Nice beach, pools are good. Rooms are a little dated, and the villa specifically felt both poorly laid out and just not that clean or well maintained. We spent one night in the hotel and that room was nicer. Overall my family had fun, but I don’t think we’ll be back.

We checked in on Monday evening on 4-13 and the young man at the check-in was rude and short with us. Was not a good start to our stay. This person also happened to be there when we checked out and had the same attitude. Not a good fit for someone in hospitality. The rest of the staff was great and we enjoyed the stay.

The hotel and the amenities were nice and the staff were nice as well. I loved the ambiance of the hotel and the location on the beach and to local spots in the area. The hotel room with the view was really nice and overall the stay was pleasant. My only concern was the condition of the bathroom. It was pretty outdated and not what was expected from the pictures. There was also an issue with hair on the walls of the bathtub and the tub drain slow to drain that was reported a few times. The assistant manager reported he would resolve the issue and adjust the cost of our stay, so I am hoping he keeps his word.

We stayed one night at the Beachcomber. Overall it exceeded our expectations. The location was good, the rooms were clean and the grounds were very nice. Overall the staff was attentive. The only concern that I have is that we were not told about a $45 resort fee when we reserved the room nor when we checked in.

Sibling group of 4 Totally enjoyed our stay here !
They have thought of everything at this resort.
From Lemon water on the beach to great hours for every food place there.
Ethan was So impressive & took care of us the whole time.
He always went above the normal to make sure we were happy.
Rooms were partial view but honestly still Amazing views from those.
We typically stay on the gulf but wanted a quick trip so we ended up here for a few days.
It was Awesome !!

The location is great! The room was big and comfy. Great amenities. Loved the beach and friendly staff. Close to Fort Lauderdale and plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby. Felt very safe to walk out at night. The parking fee was very reasonable compared to other hotels. Would definitely come back .

The property needs a major overhaul, straight out of the sixties; our room smelled and inundated with ants. Climate control in our room was inoperable, and the keycard had to be renewed frequently. Small TV’s with limited channels, slow WiFi, desk only manned by two people during checkout. Not recommended, especially for this price point

The pool was very nice. Nice seating etc. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Tiki Bar at the Deep was very great, very comfortable. Food was ok. Not much of a restaurant sort of all blended into one for lunch and dinner. My room was on the 1st floor overlooking the pool. It smelled really musty. Bad. There was an overturned, belly up copper colored bug about 2 inches long, with a lot of legs overturned near bathroom. Ugh. There was an outside area. Which was great to have being on the ground floor with 2 lounge chairs. The location was excellent with being right on the beach!

Overall, this is a clean and well-run hotel with the exception of my room. The room has been partially remodeled and looks nice while some parts look really outdated, cheap and dirty. There was hair in my sink and tub and mold around the drain that looks like it had been building up for awhile. There’s no way the bathroom had been cleaned before I arrived in my room. If they will cut corners cleaning the bathroom, made me wonder where else they cut corners in cleaning. The food was good, however. We ate at the cafe, the outdoor restaurant and got snacks from the bar while poolside. All great food. Poolside service was promised but nearly non-existent. We had to ask for a server every day. I think maybe they are understaffed. The location is good if you want to be a little out of the busier parts of Ft Lauderdale so I liked that. And there were plenty of great restaurants nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Finally, the website states that self-parking is free but the hotel informed us upon arrival that self-parking was the same cost as valet which makes no sense. I’ve never been to a hotel or self parking in valet is the same price. When I mentioned this to the person who checked me in, she didn’t even respond to me and so that’s why I never mentioned the bathroom issue. I felt that she wasn’t gonna be responsive to that issue, they certainly weren’t gonna be responsive to my bathroom issue so I said nothing.

The pool area was nice however there were never two chairs open together.
We had a lovely patio area and hung out there.
The bathroom could definitely use an upgrade. The dispensers didn’t work. The tub felt slippery. There was a coffee maker with tiny pods. A small fridge and no microwave.
Food was ok. I never return food. My eggs could’ve been cooked another minute. We ordered breakfast sandwiches one morning and he said, let me know if they’re too burnt and I’ll make you another. After waiting 20 min we were not sending them back and we ate them. But, we really should’ve sent them back.

Stayed here for a girls’ trip. Food and drink were good, Service and staff attitude were inconsistent. Some were very helpful while others had to be reminded of various requests. The grounds were nice but the website photos made it look better. The pool and rooms were misleading, outdated and disappointing. Very family oriented with lots of kids but TV channels were spotty and no option for streaming. Few shops and options within walking distance for restaurants, bars, etc..

The resort has it all!!! We lived the reserved beach space with chairs and umbrellas. The music on the weekends added the amazing vibe we needed. We ate at the restaurant twice and thoroughly enjoyed both meals on the beach. The space on the balcony was generous. $18 valet was very reasonable and appreciated. Our only complaint was the noise from the hallway…sound traveled. We will return!

Amazing location on the beach with umbrellas and chair service included. The balcony was huge with a great view and spacious in the junior suite. They let us checkout and stay on the private beach and use the pool and restrooms until late in the afternoon which gave us an extra day on the beach.

Pros - Rooms were spacious and clean, beds comfy, staff was wonderful and tentative. Beach service was nice-paid parking lot relatively close, or valet available, pool warm, beach close walking distance, showers clean and had full size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. Front desk had box fans available for fan sleepers :)

Cons- no microwave, mini fridge was definitely mini compared to most basic hotel mini fridges. mirrors were VERY limited. This was a struggle with 3 women getting ready. No body length mirror either, Had to stand on the bed to get a look at your outfit. Balconies not private and the partial ocean view was disappointing. If we moved our chairs to view the ocean we were looking right at our neighbors( all of them, the whole length of resort) and couldn't see the ocean unless standing. If we looked straight ahead we had a great view of the roof. If you want true ocean view, pay the extra.

Over all great hotel for simple relaxing vacation. Not close walking distance to things. Pompano Area not a ton of things to do for family. About 25 ish drive to fort Lauderdale and we drove hr to Miami to keep teenage kids entertained.

We enjoyed our stay here. The pool and private beach were close enough to easily walk to while still healing from knee surgery. The food at the restaurant was very good but choose wisely. They will accommodate changing sauces and such with some of the meals. The bartender was very skilled. The room did feel a bit tired and while the nightstands come equipped with charging options both might not be plugged into a power source. We liked the balcony overlooking the pool, but they are close to each other so not very private. TV reception was digitizing on every channel so not much to do on a rainy day. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The staff here was very friendly. A call out to Cynthia at the front desk, who went out of her way to assist us when needed, and always with a smile.
The restaurant on site regularly had excellent food. Fresh and well-made, from appetizers and breakfast to dinner! Awesome oysters, and app’s at happy hour. We loved eating here while having good live music playing in the evening! That was a bonus. We loved eating there, and with a great view of the beach! The food is consistently excellent here.The servers were friendly and knowledgeable, and Matt was the best server! He made your experience dining a good one, was always upbeat and easily accommodated our dietary needs.(Gluten free). We also loved the service on the private beach. It was never overly crowded and the beach attendant Chris always made sure to find us loungers and was quick to put up an umbrella too. Very attentive. They would even serve you food or drinks if wanted at the beach or pool. Hard to believe this was only a three star resort. By the way, our room was actually cleaned daily & without having to ask. I liked that. Would definitely return. The best decision we made was to get an oceanfront room! So well worth it. We loved waking up to the sounds of the ocean and relaxing on our balcony, on our loungers while looking at the beautiful ocean and drinking our espressos!! Good coffee bar near the lobby if you didn’t want the espresso coffee machine in your room. Would definitely return.

My mom died so I booked the room for my Dad. A week before arrival his dad died so we called the desk and they said manager Carol will cancel since your within cancellation period and I just needed to call hotels.com. When they called she denied approval and refused to cancel or call me back after calling multiple times until Friday at 4pm before arrival. One time a receptionist even checked her office to let me know she was there and I was still sent to voicemail. I decided to make the trip instead of loosing out all the money and I'm glad I didn't send my Dad. Questionable cleanliness and management for SURE. Lots of dirt in the corners and black hairs all over the bathroom (I have blonde hair). The sink was falling apart and the staff didn't clean the soap scum off the bottles on the wall. Not what I expected after booking such an expensive oceanfront room at a resort but should have guessed considering the manager.... yikes !

My fiancé and I travel back to this location every spring break. It’s a beautiful place to stay however, where are some issues with the air-conditioning not working but they did get it up and running.. also looks like areas of the resort needed updating pretty bad. I know my specific room 803. My husband and I were not very happy when we first checked in the cleanliness was not great and paint was peeling off the walls of our bathroom.!!! my family lives next-door in the brand new condos and we would like to continue coming back here every spring break however, it definitely needs to be updated!!

My feelings are mixed about this resort. We had terrible weather while we were there, so maybe this has affected my review. The restaurants are not super close to walk to. Pompano pier is not a bad walk ( if it’s not raining), but not super close. Lauderdale-by- the -sea is 2.5 miles walking. There is a strip mall across the street with a deli and a pizza/ dive bar (did not try). So close options for food are limited.
The room was clean but dated. The sofa bed that my son slept on was terrible, but our king bed was comfortable. There was no regular coffee maker in the room only an espresso machine so that was a negative. It was hard to find a good cup of coffee nearby. You pay $5 for a cup of terrible coffee in the lobby. The area out back by the bar ( oceanfront) was nice. The pool area is ok.. nothing exciting. On another note we did have good food at to different locations by the Pompano pier. If I were to go back to this area I would stay closer to Lauderdale-by- the -sea.

My ocean view room view was beautiful I flew in from Fort Lauderdale rented a car very easy ride to the resort. Great valet service great reception. I think they could use a little bit more amenities and of course, some home improvements on the room. It’s time to update the room. I’ve been here three times and enjoyed each one thank you again.

The location, food, bar, beach and the entire staff make the Beachcomber an excellent property choice!
I think of it as a small, intimate cruise ship as opposed to a mega size cruise ship. I like the former. Yes, it is not all shining and new but it is so comfortable and welcoming. It was relaxing without effort. Saturday night we went to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and as soon as I got out of the Lyft, I wanted to go back to the Beachcomber. One drink and an appetizer and we headed back. You can tell the Beachcomber is family owned and operated. And they are doing a great job. Definitely plan to go back.

Was a very nice trip for our family of 3. The pool area was great, partial ocean view was even better than we thought. Loved having the balcony for morning sunrises. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Smooth check in and check out. The room itself was good but the bathroom could’ve used some updating- didn’t fit the vibe of the rest of the place. Plenty to do without leaving the resort- pool, beach, coffee shop, entertainment. We’d come back!

Only issue was housekeeping we were there 3 days one day only got 2 clean towels no new washcloths or hand towels. Next day took all used towels and left only bath towels no wash cloths or hand towels. Also trash containers are small but never emptied. Was happy to see a separate container for recycling. Other than that the stay was amazing all staff very friendly and helpful

We had a partial ocean view room with a balcony, which was just fine until the air conditioner, malfunctioned and leaked water into the room. This happened while we were out and the hotel called us to let us know. We are going to have to change rooms. They did give us an upgrade to an Ocean front room, which was very nice but the process of gathering everything up and switching to the other room was a bit tedious once we had rep packed all of our belongings and our items from the refrigerator and headed down the hallway, the keys that they gave us to the new room would not work. My wife had to go back down to the front desk and waiting in line with quite a few people checking in while I waited with our belongings in the hallway outside the new room while the new room was a nice upgrade. I felt they could’ve done more for our inconvenience. I approach them on that the next day and all they would do is remove the resort fee from the one day that was affected by the move. We love this place, but we’re a little disappointed. We thought they might do a little more than removing one days, Resort fee. Suggestions would be perhaps breakfast included for the rest of the trip. We only had four days left. We just thought it could’ve been handled a little nicer.

Room was on the 1st floor. Could not see the beach. Room was nice. Bar and restaurants were nice. Beach was very nice too.

The resort feels like a Caribbean oasis nestled between the tall high rise buildings that line the rest of the beach. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, food was delicious and the resort had everything we needed to relax and take a break from reality for a few days. The 2 pools was ideal so that we could avoid the families with small children. We will certainly be back…

We had a wonderful vacation at the Beachcomber Resort! The hotel staff, from check-in to the restaurant, pool and beach attendants, bartenders, etc. were friendly and solicitous. The grounds were beautiful, with two pools and a recreation area with cornhole and ping-pong. It was cool the first two days of our stay, but we still enjoyed a swim in the pool which was heated to about 80 degrees. We enjoyed happy hour at the bar every night along with the musical entertainment. The food was great at the bar and at Deep restaurant. The view from our balcony was awesome, overlooking the resort and the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel is older, and while the rooms have been renovated and are very comfortable, the bathroom is dated but has been refreshed and is compact and efficient with strong water pressure and plenty of hot water. The Beachcomber is an oasis in the midst of condominium row and had a more intimate, community vibe rather than that of a hotel chain. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!

Love this gem of a resort! The rooms are lovely, the front desk staff was helpful, the staff on the beach setting up umbrellas and chairs were terrific! Great beach atmosphere with a little extra! The coffee bar in the morning was a great way to start my day! A lovely walk to the Pompano pier! I hope to come back!
