Photos are misleading. The jacuzzi is down a narrow pathway. It was not shown to us when moving in . A code was also not supplied to us to access the property and contact number rings out. Room is suitable for a backpacker as there almost no storage space. The “ private garden “ is merely the forecourt of the property and I feel it was overpriced- definitely not value for money. All in all a disappointment

Location was great! The pictures of our particular suite did not match the bungalow picture when booking.
Lack of minor necessities I.e. dish clothes, tea towels, dishwashing tablets, no hairdryer or ironing board. Little details let the overall accomodation down. It’s about the details!

Excellent stay for our time in Byron Bay. Perfect accommodation if you love aesthetics and on a budget. Very comfortable price for the luxury they had to offer. I loved the concept of a house with rented out rooms, very homey. Beautiful home and spoke to the manager once we left who one was lovely and shared some insight into the infrastructure of the place. only a 5 minute walk to the beach, also. Facilities did not fail, incredible air conditioning and rooms.
Absolutely loved my stay at BayHaven Lodge. If I could I would stay again :)

The accommodation was stylish and very clean! Reminded me of a very upmarket rooming house! You have to park on the street but the car was safe. I would prefer better parking. It’s well located to town and beach. While the owner didn’t appear during our visit she was in contact by telephone and text. I’d stay again for a short stay. Not spacious enough for a long stay.

Super convenient to everything and didn't even need onsite parking (which was offered) as plenty of parks directly out front also. The room was immaculate, clean, fresh and modern looking. Loved the little wooden stump coffee tables. Very well thought out here right down to the drinks and snacks for purchase I enjoyed my stay wish it was longer. Such a warm vibe!

The room was great, and service too. The only thing, and this is super picky - there wasn't really places to store anything. There were these beautiful log side tables with great lamps on them - but you could really fit anything next to them. There is a fancy rail for your clothes, but a little set of drawers with a top to store stuff would just make the rooms so much easier to stay in.

I found this little lodge and stayed overnight as a stop over. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The room is spacious; with a mini fridge, bed, couch, TV and breakfast amenities. Everything you'd need for a short stay. Check in was easy and Jade was a fantastic host.

Photos need updating, a bit deceptive, room is smaller than what it would appear in photos. Also photos are out of date, a bit disappointing when you book with an expectation. Access is via an internal passageway not external. Garden rooms, had no garden furniture as displayed in photos. Car parking for this room was on street parking at $4 an hour, with a limit of 4 hours before car needs to be moved. Otherwise parking is 200 meters away, not ideal when moving luggage. There was little room for luggage and bathroom supplies. Other than our initial disappointment, the room was clean and well presented.

We had a great timeat bay haven lodge. The accommodation style is a little unusual as you dont have the whole place to yourself- you have shared communal kitchen lounge and outdoor space with fellow travelers, but your own bathroom.
The accommodation is quite nice though and in a great location- very easy to walk to the shops, beach and a good long walk to the lighthouse. I would stay here again- but maybe with friends sharing the communal space.

Very nicely furshished, but quite small room. Shower and toilet is very small so only good for a night or two before becoming inconvenient. It’s actually setup as an AirBnB apartment, with individual door codes etc. Excellent location, easy walking distance to the main areas of Byron. Parking is bad though, with no parking at the property and paid parking on the street from 9am to 6pm. WiFi was good, and overall it was good but very small.

There is definitely some trick photography done in these pics! The rooms are super small. The photos show the bed with a sitting area, however the sitting area is actually in the common front entrance, which the door is not usually left open. We had to climb over our luggage to get to the bathroom as there was no where to put the luggage. The bathroom has no sink or mirror and you have to get into the bedroom to use the sink and mirror.
The staff however were cery friendly and kind.

Confirmation of booking advises that the accommodation does not have on site reception, and to contact re check-in. 3 phone calls and 2 emails to get a response. On check in the staff member was very pleasant. However, we had no hot water. I had 3 cold showers, one being preparing for my daughter's wedding, before being able to make contact with the owners. There are no on-site staff, and they are not contactable by phone. I tried numerous times from late afternoon to mid-morning next day and the response came from a note I left at the office door. The room is small, with the only clothes hanging space being two 3M hooks on the back of the door. The bathroom is so small you have to move sideways out of the shower. Using the toilet requires a shuffle to shut the door. The long life milk provided had already been opened!! There is no fridge. Overall, very disappointing. Given the photos on the website and the cost, I had higher expectations. The offer of a future discount does not do it - was looking forward to the stay.

This one does not have parking for guests. (The one across the street is another accommodation that has parking space for guests... and it is a bit cheaper..)

The room is so small.

The bathroom sink was not working properly. Ended up flooding the shower area.

The sink as well did not work properly.

Timber flooring makes a (loud) noise when people are walking around. Owners could thought of putting a carpet instead.

I should have booked the one across or the one in the town (even if they are 50$ more).

Middle of the night alarm went off for about 10 seconds.

Photos of the room on website are accurate but very deceptive to room size. Room is tiny bathroom is worse I could touch one side of the shower and the complete other side of the bathroom at the same time.
But worst of all was advertised as a rainfall showerhead and was just a regular one that was ZIP TIED on yes ziptied on and the shower shelf was broken and nearly falling off. And one of the buttons on the toilet was broken. There was no tv remote. And the heater would be lucky if it was a 'warmer .
We did get the cheapest room but would still expect more from a luxury lodge.

Not what we expected.

When booking our room the image on Wotif portrayed bi-parting glass doors out to a sitting area that lead into a small garden. However, upon checking in it was revealed that we had a room only with no sitting area and no garden view. The European backpacker looking after the property said the image on the website was wrong, but that's OK as we'll give you a 10 dollar discount. Our room had one window that people walking down the side of the house could look into, which someone did, so we had the blinds pulled down the whole time. No view to the outside at all. The bed was on an incline so that our feet felt higher than our heads, it was hard and it creaked. It was the most uncomfortable sleep I've had in years and I travel a lot. The TV was mounted so high on the wall and was quite small that it was difficult to watch. The toilet / shower area was no larger than a cupboard and the shelf in the shower was placed up so high my wife couldn't tell if the soap was up there or not. After finally getting to sleep we were awaken three time during the night by the Fire Alarm. One time the alarm was activated for 3 minutes before the young lady in charge could call someone to work out how to turn it off. The four rooms that are rented out are in an old part of the house which has creaky floorboards and thin walls. We could hear people come and go down the hallway, we could hear people coughing in their room and using their toilet. This place was not worth the money. Not happy!

Sadly not a good experience overall.
The ceiling fan did not work. There was air con but the unit was very dirty and we didn't like using it.
The traffic noise was not a problem but other inconsiderate, drunken and noisy residents arriving back in early hours of morning, were!
The in house coffee/ tea making left a lot to be desired......coffee was old and milk out of date!
Having just one bath towel each for two nights was not good, our towels were always wet. There was nowhere to hang shirts/ dresses.
On the up side, the weekend manager was very kind and did her best to help. It was really nice to have a balcony to use and a communal fridge for our wine etc.

Unfortunately the accommodation was not what was expected based upon advertising. Accommodation seemed as though it was going to be a peaceful room with a pleasant garden view. It was actually a tiny room with the only view being very public and not private in anyway.
The room was not private in anyway. I could hear every movement of the other guests at all hours of the evenings which meant broken sleep and some quite extraordinary sounds coming from other guest rooms which I am sure they did not realise others could hear quite clearly.

A nice and clean accommodation. Our room was defined as superior, but it was small with an ensuite which lead to the outside. Very noisy in the mornings with people walking in a thumping way to the communal kitchen which was outside our room. There was a communal to lounge room there as well which did get noisy. The bed frame, mattress and linen, although clean needed an upgrade, particularly the mattress. It was expensive for two nights.

It's just a badly converted house

We were so disappointed when we walked into our room - it was just a bedroom that had a toilet, shower cubicle, vanity and shelves built along the one side of the room. Admittedly it was well done but we couldn't get past the fact that it was just a bedroom. There was only enough room to walk around the bed and that's all. And there was one window which overlooked the neighbours backyard and laundry so we had to leave the blind down all the time. There was also no fridge in the room but they did provide one out on the front verandah common area.

The fan in the shower didn't work and some of the lights had blown and there was no-one we could tell. Also, the shower cubicle had mould growing on the ceiling so clearly the fan had not been working for some time.

There were also a bunch of rules - no shoes inside, don't put your suitcase on the bed (in such a small room where else can you put it!!!) and a whole bunch of other stuff I can't remember. There were also instructions to put our suitcases on the shelf above the vanity - which would have been easy if one of us were 6'4\". Unfortunately we are way short of that so perhaps a stool should go with that suggestion?

Finally, we had the pleasure of listening to all the other people who were staying there come back in the wee hours after partying - clomping up the hall in their shoes (clearly didn't read the sign) and making their door locks beep constantly because they were too drunk to get the code right!!!

Great walking distance to main town. Very clean.

But room gets very noisy early in the morning or late night due to the construction next door and people in the lodge walking on the old floorboard making very loud noise. Not enough privacy. Not suitable for someone looking for a quiet relaxing time.

Price is quite high yet the facility is not that great: no guest parking (you have to use paid parking at the front), toilet is very small, no iron & iron board in the room so you have to share it in a public 'sun room'...

See staff once in the 4 day stay so can't judge.

It's okay but not too great.

Had such a lovely stay here, we arrived a little early before check-in and was warmly welcomed. Great location, literally 5 minute walk to the main road in Byron.
The private garden and spa hot tub was lovely, bbq amenities would be great to use during the summer. I would recommend to anyone visiting Byron to stay here, it was overall awesome and the comfiest bed ever!

My expectations of what I was getting verses what was delivered are totally opposite.
My main complaint is the noise and lack of privacy in the place. Even though I had a separate room and ensuite, the walls were so paper thin I could hear the neighbours going to the toilet and watching TV. The wooden floorboards made the most noise. I didn't sleep at all with other guests coming and going through out the night.

Room was tiny compared to the photos, we found this to be extremely deceiving. This was bad in that the toilet seat itself was not even 2 metres from the edge of the bed. There was no fridge... The lobby was directly outside the first bedroom to which we had the pleasure of people sitting not even 2 metres away playing on their phones with only a glass windows to seperate us...
When we arrived there was no way for us to get into the conplex and only a phone number written which went straight to message bank for nearly an hour when called.
There was no parking provided even though there were a few spots out the back.
Not very secure as the codes to get into the 'share house' and rooms were simple and obviously unchanged...
We packed up our things and went across the road to Beachcomber Resort which was actually cheaper, massive apartment rooms, a 30 second walk to the beach through the private beach access gate.
Do your research... Don't look at just the comments at the top!!

We are very pleased with the place - the kitchen was modern and up to date and plenty of cupboards, big comfortable lounge, cd's to play music, a spot for a wifi, spoiled with a television - one big 60inch tv in the lounge and 32inch tv in the bedroom. Big bathroom. A very comfortable bed and a very nice crispy white linen bedsheets. Also, we have an outdoor settings where we sat every morning to have our breakfast. It is so close to the main shopping centre and restaurants. Night life is fantastic as well. Our stayed was very pleasant and we could recommend it.

Uncomfortable, unpleasant stay.

We stayed for one night and it wasn't a comfortable experience. The bed was really uncomfortable, the pillows were hard as rocks. The fan had a loud tick that kept me awake, and when I switched to the aircon it was also really noisy! The wifi didn't work, and the TV didn't work. Not a good idea having vertical blinds on the large window facing the common area, as it feels like people can still see in and you have to keep them closed the whole time, which leaves the room very dark. The shower leaked so our bath mat was saturated after one shower. All in all, not a good experience and I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone else.

Dissapointing

As international visitor and no access to Internet etc - couldn't get into property as no one available despite arriving within check in time. Left message on telephone number left at gate so that was ok. Met with manager hour and half later and shown room.
Room lovely and modern however very small. Not for newly acquainted couples as toilet is facing top of the bed and an awful shock in the night as toilet door was very squeaky.

Perfect Byron getaway

managers and staff Dave and Kerry were both extremely hospitable from day one. Due to work commitments we had to change our holiday dates and the team were extremely understanding and without hesitation moved our accomodation to work within our new holiday dates. We were extremely appreciative! The room are also very clean and fresh, compact with all the basics you need while being steps away from the beach, nightlife, cafes and shops. It's been a great experience!

air conditioner outside our window the next room had it on day and night very noisy drinking cups stained told not to put cases on beds to store place under bed which we did when we pulled them out the bases were covered in human hair and fluff don't think they cleaned under bed

Small, over priced room

Very impersonal because we saw no staff, only received a phone call with codes for front gate and the room. We found the room very small being mostly filled by the bed. No lookout except the window behind the bed looking out on a corrugated iron fence.
Fittings were all new and modern. Shower, although a nice design, had an awkward door which meant when you came out of the shower it prevented you reaching any towels so it was necesary to then step into the main room in order to close the shower door! No towel changes or replenishment of supplies such as teabags. No fridge in the room, only a shared one in common area.
No on site parking.
Could clearly hear noises from other rooms.

Disappointing

Very disappointing, the room was very small and cramped to say the least. The whole place just had a weird feel and hated the code system to get into the room. The website is not a true representation of the actual accommodation. The communal living was invasive and only suitable for a couple with no where for anywhere else to sit or talk. The walls were like rice paper, to the point where my husband and I were whispering. We could hear the people in the next door room talking. I would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to any of my friends. It was also very expensive for the standard of accommodation we received. Also, not even any milk in the fridge for a cup of tea.

Terrible don't waste your money

We got there at check in time 2 no one there had no phone call or email from the owner didn't know how to get in. Once we got in there people's groceries were in the house had no idea I was paying $250 to share a very very small kitchen and lounge room. We had codes to put in the doors which would not work. I called the owner and he was in an appointment couldn't even come and give us any information. Waste of time and money as it was my parents birthday. We ended up leaving and staying somewhere else didn't get any sort of refund very dissapointed would not reccomend it. Way too small to be a shared.
