The Buree we hired was clean, quaint and quiet, although a bit on the tired side. A couple of items that could use some attention would be the sliding-glass shower screen over the bath was missing a full panel which meant water was not totally contained within the bath when showering.

It also would have been nice to be able to use the fireplace, but I don’t believe it is in use any more.

Overall though, we had a very pleasant stay and again, the staff were wonderful.

Probably the quirkiest place we have stayed, which is not a negative. The area is very lush foluage-wise. It is a 20 min walk (for us) into Byron Bay where loads of places for breakfast and other meals (esp if you like Mexican!). In the lodge we had it is a narrow and tight circular staircase to bedroom so note if not good with stairs! Not great to get suitcases up so we left on couches downstairs. Sleeping very relaxing with windows open and babbling brook outside, plus wind through the foliage. There was loudish entertainment music from somewhere nearby until 11pm, no idea if that every night (this was a Monday). Big double bathtub.
We both enjoyed it.

Stayed for 2 nights. One of the nights featured another group playing loud music until midnight and then drunkenly screaming and shrieking until after 1am. Also no air conditioning and lots of hungry mosquitoes-- my wife and I each got about 20 bites. Staff was friendly but not around except for the hour around check-in/out. One of the staff agreed to do a load of laundry for us since we weren't allowed to use the laundry machines ourselves as advertised.

There was also no real common space in our suite-- just a small built-in couch a few feet from a small refrigerator. The outdoor shower was nice, except for the bugs. And I didn't mind the rustic nature. But my wife was overwhelmed by the lack of air conditioning, the noisy neighbors, and the bugs.

The property was surprisingly appealing, the photos didn’t do much justice. The outside bath and shower so tranquil, the Balinese deco stone paths stunning. Would definitely be back. Only issue experienced was loud music on the street not sure if it was house party or bar, so did break the peace but not the fault of the property, the cabin above dragonfly cabin could look down on you bathing but we didn’t experience privacy being affected.

It is a different vibe. It’s like our staying in a cottage in the jungle. Therefore it is rustic which is fine. It was surface clean. What was bad was what I would call deep cleaning. The fans had not been cleaned n a long time. There were a lot of spider webs on the ceilings and corners. The light fixtures were like the fans. Tje curtains were people are opening with their hands were very dirty. The couch thing was so hard.

Loved the whole vibe of this property, did not really want to leave this little oasis.
Biggest issue that it is so far from Melbourne and I cannot make it a more regular getaway,
The gentle sound of water falling, the luscious gardens, rustle of wildlife as you walk the paths, incense provided for use when chilling on the balcony, all encourage calmness and peace.

Very cool property but it was very much in need of a deep cleaning - a scary amount of dust in the vents and slotted doors. The cabinets were dirty too. Corners on the floor were in need of some detailed cleaning as well as the furniture outside.
Otherwise it was a cool place for sure. The camp behind it got a little noisy at night…

The two-bedroom Buree was excellent. The setting was really beautiful. The one-bedroom Buree was cute but my husband (77) really didn't feel safe using the narrow spiral staircase up to the bedroom. Not sure if I missed that bit in the description when I booked.
The wooden walking path to our Buree was definitely unsafe and if workplace safety inspectors saw it, the place would be closed down until repaired. Luckily the lighting was good so we avoided falling and tripping.

2nd time staying in a Buree. First time was great, 2nd time we stayed in the exact same buree (no 1) and this time there was an issue with constant water running noises. As there is a water feature turned on during the day, it wasn’t noticeable at first. Only noticed when the water feature turned off. The water running noises came from piping inside the walls and were quiet loud. I could even hear it through my ear plugs. This time we tried to watch TV and the TV wasn’t working either. Not good enough for nearly 300 AUD per night. No reception staff available either to resolve issues

A great quiet place away from the hustle of the main beach side but still 10 minutes walk to town. Love the outdoor shower and adjacent stream. Nice separation of the bedroom upstairs and downstairs living area. Helpful and friendly staff who leave you alone but there when you need them.

Lovely bush surrounds. The amenities are more limited than the listing lets on. The pictures are for the Grand Buree which is much grander, The shower is outdoors only and the bed is on a mezzanine up very steep spiral staircase with bathroom downstairs so be careful getting up for a pee in the middle of the night! Otherwise, nicely situated a short walk to town and the beach. Very quiet, surrounded by nature, calming and relaxing place to stay.

This was my second time staying at this property and it was as enjoyable this time as the first.
The room was very clean, Peggy at reception was very friendly and even phoned me to let me know I’d left my earrings there after checkout.
It’s an approx 15 minute walk to town and the beach.
It feels like you are in your own little world inside the room because it’s very peaceful and the view from the windows is trees. The Balinese decor makes it feel that much more serene and relaxing.
Would recommend staying here to anyone wanting a relaxing room to retreat to while visiting Byron

Had the most amazing stay in Byron. The villa was located so close to town. The accommodation had everything you need bike hire, parking, jetted hot tub, robes, candles and incense, coffee pod machine, heated floors even l'occitane soap and shampoo. Everything was thought of.
The view of the rainforest from your bedroom and the bathroom was so relaxing, made you feel like you were overseas in Bali.

At first I was very impressed by the lovely room with outdoors Balinese shower in leafy surroundings, trickling running creek, personal jacuzzi, Occitane en Provence products, bedroom located on a different level using a spiral staircase...however, at night I became disappointed as the bed was rather uncomfortable and the peaceful, zen atmosphere was spoiled by noisy party music until very late keeping me up until 2:00am.

Can walk to town from this property. Room was spacious. But be prepared to call the number given for noise after 10pm - very close to backpacker accommodation. Music was still playing at 1:15 in the morning and this was midweek. It did stop after i sent txt but was not sure who the receiver of the txt was hence my hesitation. We are 50+ so may suit younger guests better.

We stayed at the studio apartment for 2 nights. Although the apartment is nicely decorated, it definitely has more of an airbnb vibe than a hotel. The mattress was very uncomfortable with zero support which made us sleep on the sofa (!). Another inconvenience was the fact that the shower gel ran out after just a couple of showers. Overall our stay didn't really meet our expectations.

Our stay was lovely. The only issue we had was the noise. Both Saturday and Sunday night it was like being at a dance party with the noice from next door. Would have been nice to know before arriving that the room was right next to a brewery and camp ground that played loud music late into the night. Definitely was not as relaxing as was advertised.

Beautiful tropical layout, very romantic for a couples weekend away. Lovely rooms with big spar bath. Good distance away from town to ensure you get a walk in each day. The only issue I would say is you can hear every movement and conversation from people in the rooms next to you. Unfortunately for us the people next door were not having a great time and it sounded like a riot.

CONS: not cleaned very well- there were cob webs all over the window and fan in the bedroom, the curtains do not fully cover the windows in the bedroom so I was woken up by the sun every day, the location is not that close to town- it is at least 15 mins walk down dark and pot hole streets, the pub next door is rowdy, there's hardly any TV channels, there's a DVD player and no DVDs

ODD: you are required to wash your own dishes and take out the rubbish. Isn't that the point of a holiday? After booking through Expedia I received an email from the hotel direct asking lots of questions like credit card details. I provided all of that because I wanted check in to be as easy as possible. But when I arrived at night there was a note saying I had to go to reception in the morning to finish checking in. Went to reception in the morning and it was closed. Went back again after breakfast and I was told I just needed to sign a form? Couldn't it all be done with the extensive form I already completed. Or should everything be done at check in. Doing both seemed unnecessary.

Then when we went to check out at 10am reception was closed. Another guest said they had been waiting a while for the same thing. I have travelled all over the world and never have I experienced closed reception at check out time. We couldn't wait any longer and simply left our keys in the door

We choose this property as it looked Balinese and relaxed. Unfortunately, it was poorly built (ie entry sliding door had a large gap that created a draft and as there is no fly screen let in mosquitos). It was very cold as the small heater was insufficient. There was a strong sewer smell on occasions. However, the worse problem it isn’t the serene hideaway expected as it’s located next door to a large backpacker hostel that hosts live outdoor bands most nights. I was unaware and needing sleep resorted to sms staff as there is no reception staff onsite but my sms was never answered. My daughter and I as felt a bit vulnerable as there is no security staff either with lots of backpackers constantly milling past the site. On the whole disappointing.

The kitchen and bathroom need some renovation, the smell is very weird.
The biggest challenge was the noise from the backpackers place also after 10pm. Very difficult to relax or sleep.

The place was really nice, well equipped with anything you might need for a short holiday stay. The place was also very clean and tidy. The only downside for us was that it smelt a bit like a toilet because there is no proper door to the toilet. Also, because the property is close to the swamp, we could hear a lot of birds and crickets and other wildlife that was a bit difficult to adjust too, especially during the night. The location of the place is really central with walking distance to the shops, nightlife, bars and cafes, which is very convenient. Overall, I would recommend the place for a short stay.

Beautiful place to stay. Travelled the East Coast and when I walked into this place I was blown away. It's a short walk from town but it makes you feel like you're in the middle of an Indonesian jungle. We had our own Jacuzzi bath, outdoor shower, a little stream. It was nice that the bedroom was upstairs so it felt like you had more space. Only things I'd note were that there was no blind or curtain in the bathroom but the way it's set out is very private so no one can see in and my other half was worried because if how much vegetation there was that there was a possibility of snakes or spiders but we saw none during our stay, just friendly water dragons and brush turkeys :). Those things were not a complaint by any means but they might bother someone else. We'd love to stay here again if we were given the opportunity.

Staying at Garden Burees brings a tear to my eye! It is just simply Beautiful ☺. It brings me back to my childhood days at my grandma's place in the 'kampung'. Just that Garden Buree has all the luxurious comfort of a villa that one could ask for. The luxurious spa and outdoor shower and most of all the Fluffy Bathrobe makes me felt so special.

I stay here on my own for a few days, loved the tranquil surronding, felt safe, happy, slept well, ate well, went to the Buddha Spa next door a couple of times, it was so so good. I felt renewed and recharged! 😊

I will definitely return to Garden Buree for my visit to Byron Bay for sure, hopefully with someone to share with 😅

Gorgouse little balinese style hut, lived up to the expectation set by there website. Could not complain about the room what so ever was extremely happy, in saying that I feel that coustomer service.... what would be the word? Put it simply there just wasn't any which was a total shame as every thing else was fantastic, I would not stay again due to the lack of coustomer service, there was no one to greet us and check us in or out of our hotel room. At any point of our stay was there an employee at the front desk, just a sign saying that they were out with a moblie number. 10 am is normal bussiness hours people. And let me tell you wondering around in the dark draging around suite cases with no lighting or signage trying to find our room is exactly what one wants after a flight. Also check out was disgusting, just a note saying to leave your room key in the unlocked room, this I did not feel comfortable with as my name and card was on that room and I am held responsible and any one could have wondered in, also the fact that that is totally unprofessional, like I said what coustomer service there simply wasn't any.

Out of and bustle, close enough to enjoy

Secluded enough to get away from the madding crowds in the height of the school holidays that were happening during our visit, but close enough to walk to everything.

the Burees are old but clean. there was never anyone at reception. we were there for 3 nights and our
towels were not replaced, tea bags, toiletries not replenished. disappointing

Wedding in Bryon

Our experience was fantastic apart from confusing our checkout time with 11am. We awoke to a lady screaming through the door at 10:05am that we needed to GET OUT RIGHT NOW. My friend and I had mistakenly thought the checkout time was at 11am not 10am. This was our mistake but we did not thing it deserved this reaction at 10:05am. We paid $280 per night for our accommodation and being 5 minutes late for a checkout time we confused could have been handled very differently.

The room, brewery (next door) and general accommodation was a great experience. It’s a shame that the final treatment has left a very bad impression on us.

No near the beach, If you want to livew in teh jungle then OK. All facilities except teh bed are unde rthe trees.
