Love this place! I book here every time I am in Byron. The staff is always so incredible, conveniently located esp if you like walkability, the amenities are great esp lovely to have a kitchen while away from home. There are only so many days I can eat out before needed a home cooked meal.

Fantastic location and attentive staff. Hotel is a bit run down and constant aroma/smell of in house restaurant wafting throughout rooms and hotel. Large water puddles outside rooms after rain as well that comes into room making floors slippery.

Only complain is that the phone to TV connection was not great, kept dropping out and we have tried multiple devices with the same outcome.

The room we were given was #1 on the first floor. The room was in need of an over all cleaning. The furniture was mismatched and worn and appeared as if scavenged from other places.
The noise in the hallway all night as people came into the building after hours was a constant source of annoyance every time someone let it slam and woke us up.
The small patio area was filthy and unusable.
Not what we had expected in Byron Bay and certainly not worth the price paid.
The only positive was the location and the friendly desk staff.

Our stay at Byron Bay Hotel was okay overall. Parking was a bit tricky to find at first, but when we called, reception were very kind and clearly explained where to go. Check-in was smooth and the location is excellent — right in town and just steps from the beach.

The room itself felt more like a motel than a hotel, and we would have appreciated brighter rooms and cleaner bathrooms. It was also a bit noisy at times, as sound easily travelled from neighbouring rooms. That said, for the location, it’s still a convenient place to stay for a short visit.

We booked the 3 bedroom fully self-contained apartment (101) for a family wedding. Comfortablly sleeps 6 people. This room gets some morning sun on the balcony and then it's nice and shady in the afternoon and evening. Heaps of room to watch TV and to cook and eat-in when we wanted to. We really liked the position of the hotel, a street or so back from the beach away from the hustle and bustle of Byron Bay on a long weekend during School Holidays, but close to everything, which was easily walkable. Really handy that Aldi is virtually next door via the shared carpark. We didn't have a problem getting a car space, even over this busy period and we had two vehicles between us all. Thanks to Leigh/Lee for his welcoming manner upon arrival and for the multiple access cards the adults needed to be able to come and go. Thanks also to Flynn for fixing the internet for us, when we had a temporary connectivity issue. All the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit Byron Bay.

A very dark stay

Very poor stay, room dark, dingy and depressing. My room lost all power (for over an hour) and no one on premises to assist. In the end I received an external call and was told I had to reset the fuse box in the hotel corridor. Brought up my “experience” to the reception staff at check out the following morning and it was ignored. Would never recommend this hotel.

Upon arrival staff were friendly, and full of local information which was helpful. Check-in relatively easy. Location very convenient, parking easy. Room was lovely although we had street side apartment with balcony which was a bit noisy due to traffic and restaurant noise mainly music. Bed comfortable. Room and bathroom spacious.

Had a great stay and would absolutely stay here again. The staff were friendly and genuinely welcoming, especially to my best mate (my black Labrador). Great location and central to restaurants and pubs, along with beach nearby (great dog beach too!). The only suggestion would be to have a hose somewhere outside (near pool are maybe?) for washing your dog down after a swim at the beach. Great stay and very much enjoyed the hospitality. Even spotted Starlink flying overhead - thanks for the show!

This was a great stay for us! It was really central and also offered free parking which was great. It was easy to check in and out. Room was nice and had everything we needed but it was slightly annoying that you could hear everything that the other guests were saying in the adjoining room. Would stay here again though and perfect for a little stop over!

The staff were lovely and considerate. The apartment was a good size. Our only issue was the TV. It’s a smart TV but very slow and quite old. Once connected to the wifi, the streaming apps were very slow and kept freezing. Maybe it needs to be upgraded or the internet needs to be faster?

The place is old and very tired. The hotel has a public carpark underneath however there is no security to use the lift to enter the hotel. Early one morning I witnessed a mob of local youth enter the hotel through this lift and run amok around floors and the pool area. I raised this with staff when reception opened. They were unconcerned and even said homeless people entered this way and slept around the pool.

The advertising of this property was amazing as it had us book for new years and we were quite chuffed to be going to a newish apartment. When we arrived we were very surprised that it was the same place as in the photos.
We were put in a room at the back next to the lift- which didn’t stop clunking and tapping at any time of the night.
We had ppl trying to get into our room on multiple occasions.
Each time we left the room and came back the smell was horrible- not sure where that was coming from.

The pool backs onto a restaurant so diners would be sitting at their tables eating and watching us swim.
The street you exit out of the carpark felt like we were in the ghetto and needed our own security.
All in all for the price that was paid of $1600 for 2 nights- could have gotten me 2 nights at the Sheraton- way too steep for what it was.

I called this hotel 3 days before arrival and ask for an upgrade as i thought it was an apartment. The staff members reassured me, she would arrange the upgrade on the day.

On the Saturday arrival, as checking in. No notes had been left, very disappointing. Our room was very small and had an odour of cigarettes.
Definitely not worth the money spent.

Two nights in the heart of the town. King bed room. Quite small but adequate for a short stay. Says it has a balcony. You can only step out and stand as only big enough to stand. Bed was like a hammock, a little worn out. Room was lovely and quiet. Jetted tub included, however we didn't use it. Area around was perfect. Parking included was fantastic. For $400 per night it could be better.

From the moment we arrived the room wasn’t ready on time, the property especially the hallway areas was very dirty with linen baskets/trollies left around, our room was a tiny dingy room with no real natural
Light and smelt like it had been used for a commercial kitchen. The entrance way was an adjoining door with appartment 108b and all night the neighbours would slam the doors leave hallway lights on. The blinds in the room weren’t large enough to cover the the windows so all the Fluor lights cleared through our windows all night. The room was small and cramped, and the bed felt like it was 10 years old with both myself and my partner having shocking sleeps all week.
We are both very seasoned travellers and we can say we have never been this disappointed in a motel before, I think it’s fair to say we will never be returning to Byron bay Motel and appartments.

Highly recommend!

Right in the heart of Byron Bay, stayed two nights and it was a great stay. The room was spacious, bathroom had a shower and bath and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud.

Parking was free and in a secure underground carpark and was easy to find.

Only downside was noise from the street but what else can you expect from staying in the centre of a busy town.

Great location for exploring Byron without a car and really handy that free parking is included given the local cost of parking. The only thing I would say is that the description of the hotel is a little misleading. I would say that it is a very clean, well equipped hotel and the kitchen is great but it is not what I would describe as “boutique”!

This property is in a great location - 3 minute walk to main beach and right in the centre of town with lots of cafe's restaurants and shops. However, the room we had on level 2 (208B) gets a lot of noise from the outside (banging, people talking) that we literally did not get even one hours sleep - which is frustrating as we booked a night there to get sleep to break a 10 hour drive. Also the room itself whilst clean and modern is very small with no view and felt quite claustrophobic The windows in the bedroom are quite high and you can only see the walls of another part of the building. Very disappointing.
