I am boiling!!! We got woken up to someone trying to break into our room. No knock, no phone call. I had ALL the locks locked! Woke my husband up and he’s trying to look through the peep hole and he said “oh it’s just housekeeping”. He goes to the bathroom and they are still trying to get into our room. They finally knock and he answers the door and some man is standing with housekeeping and says “we have been trying to get into ur room”. My husband said yeah buddy we trying to sleep and closes the door. Next thing I know our hotel phone rings and I answer it and I go off “what is going on and why are yall trying to break into my room”. She starts giving me attitude about how they have the room listed as vacant. I said excuse me? I paid to be here until 11am today and ur front desk gave me the room keys Thursday and wrist bands until 5/3!!! Why would u think this room is vacant? She asked me to spell my name. I spelled it for her She said ok we just trying to figure out what’s going on. I said yeah how bout u do that and hung up the phone. I’m like shaking and blood is boiling. I have stayed in 100s of hotels in my 39 yrs and I have NEVER felt so invaded

My son caught a roach in our room, old stain on recliner, room wasn’t ready till the last minute and the WiFi was awful. We had an overall decent experience but I can’t say I would stay here again. Food options weren’t great considering no outside food and drink allowed.

Pool area was really nice.
Wish that as the hotel was not even close to full capacity early check in would be possible without a surcharge. 2-3 hours waiting when rooms are ready and empty is not a great way to welcome guests- although completely understandable if hotel would be fully booked

Super little kid friendly but without a relaxing area for parents… no hot tubs, limited food and beverages near pool (menu advertised online is not available), and complex is open to the public so anyone can walk into any of the areas during business hours. No laundry facility and inconsistent trash pickup/towel swap.

Recommend short trip—the pool and arcade were great.

This was my 4th or 5th stay. Everything exceeded my expectations per usual but the room foot rest and chair was dirty this time around. However, no big deal, the rooms are very very very large and we love it.

We spent a quick weekend trip here. The staff was nice, and the waterpark was clean and perfect for our young kids! Being that it is a historic building, I was not expecting perfection, but immediately upon entering our room we smelt must, it was an extremely overwhelming smell, the bathroom had no ventilation so the room felt “wet” most of the time, especially the bed sheets and comforters. The floor, headboard, chair, and bench all had stains, and the carpet had exposed tacks that me and our kids kept stepping on! But the shower and sheets were clean. Overall my kids had a blast, but I do wish it was a bit cleaner and didn’t have an overwhelming smell of wet dirty laundry. The Hippie Fish was a great spot to eat and the arcade was super fun!

Purchased our room on Expedia (301.00), arrived to the resort and was told there was a 100.00 deposit. Tried 3 cards and was told they were declined. Assistant Manager come out and stated she didn't know what was going on with the system so she called the manager out. Manager comes out clicks so keys and my Navy Federal Card is finally excepted. The next morning we check out to move to our next location (kids on spring break) and I have been charged 603.00 additional. Go to the desk requesting an explanation. Of course the manager is out for the day and no one knows how our why these charges have been charged. I asknfor the print out of receipt, I HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR THE ROOM TWICE (the room I booked through Expedia and paid for). After about an hour and 10 minutes, the manager calls on the phone and says she doesnt know how this happened and she will refund 460.00. I am livid, spoke with 4 different people, had security called on me,absolutely ridiculous. Sad part is the place is beautiful and my kids had an amazing time from swimming to the arcade. The lack of concern, no sense of urgency, and poor customer service is diabolical. We traveled from Texas to Mississippi to enjoy the cost and in 1 night we were down 1000.00. If you go here definitely have extra funds because what they say they are charging is completely different then what you are charged. I received 460.00 and 100.00 back to my account. The fact i was charged twice for a room I had purchased is insane.

Really enjoyed the stay. The room were par at best. However, the amenities at the resort were awesome especially for the kids. Will definitely stay there again. Once you show up you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to. The amenities inside the room are limited. The arcade and water park were perfect. Food was good also from the arcade.

We loved the resort and all amenities but in our room the toilet seat was broken, faucet in sink was broken and the toilet paper holder was broken. The beds could have been softer also. But having everything right there for the grand daughter to do was a plus.

The room was clean and the bathroom was spotless BUT the TV did not work properly and maintenance said it was due to lightning. Not my problem I should have not been put in that room. No 24-hour coffee. The front desk said there was coffee in the room. There was, it was so bad that I almost vomited. The coffee in the breakfast restaurant was no better. Finally, the breakfast was bad too. We ended up going to Waffle House. Will not stay there again.

I spent 1 1.5 hours trying to check in. Front desk receptionist was not fixing or letting me know why my cards kept saying not authorized. Once we got to our room it smelled like smoke. House keeping had left by the time we got to the room so we couldn't get extra pillows.It smelled like mold down the hallway. There was no bell caddy to help with our luggage.

This is a resort however it felt like we were staying at a more 6.

First off I would like to say that the customer service was awful. The front desk needs some training on how to treat people. Also, the beds are super hard and if you are looking for pillow top comfort, keep looking. I will never stay here and also pass the word to my friends not to as well.

We thought we'd treat ourselves for New Year's at a nice ocean view resort. Unfortunately, this is not a resort, at least not in the winter time. Not even any breakfast available anywhere on their extensive campus, even in the one restaurant that was open. That restaurant was noisy (despite only a few people) because it adjoins a games arcade. No ambiance, and yet regular restaurant prices. When we arrived, we were only the second party there for dinner, yet they sat us right next to the other party, which was literally a kids' birthday party. We had to ask to move. Only 2 luggage carts for two buildings. Erratic heating and air conditioning. Dated decor, few hooks or towel racks in the bathroom, and yet they charged a $59 resort fee on top of their already higher than usual hotel room charge. And when we tried to watch the ball come down in Times Square, the TV couldn't get that channel (or most other channels either). Gulfport was nice, this hotel not so much!

Excellent accommodations! Clean and neat, comfortable bed, and quiet at lights out. Parking is very convenient, and the amenities eg. Arcade/Goofy Golf, (too cold for Waterpark) but I bet that is nice too. We will definitely be back, Lord Willing, and give the Grand Centennial Hotel a solid 9/10

I had gone for the Mississippi Gulf coast half marathon. The phone in the room was not working. The day before the race I asked front desk staff is the hotel provides a shuttle to the start line and they said yes. I talked to other runners and they had conflicting views on whether a shuttle was provided on the day of the race. In the evening around 7pm on Saturday I called the front desk to confirm, the receptionist was rude and said we don't have anything to do with the race you should contact the race itself and the hotel doesn't provide a shuttle. I told her they shouldn't be conflicting messages from day shift to evening shift on whether a shuttle is provided she said she can't help me so she is going to transfer me to her manager. I got mad and hang up. I booked an Uber for the race. On the day of the race as I was going to the Uber, there was a shuttle bus waiting to pick up runners. My question is if the hotel is a host hotel, why don't you inform your staff that you are a host hotel and there is transportation day of the race? There was no breakfast for runners day of the race before the race. I would have gladly paid for breakfast. Needless to say please if you are a runner like me, don't book this hotel.

We really loved this stay. This hotel is a historic location and was most recently a VA Hospital. The grounds are clean and walkable with a view of the Gulf. The large trees are especially beautiful. We stayed in the Grand, but there is another option for families at the Oasis on the same campus. When we stayed, off season, there were no breakfast options other than the Wine Bar’s bagel offerings with coffee - complimentary. There is a water park on the Oasis side, but was closed when we were there. The elevator was super quick and music played in the hallways. That’s kind of unique in hotels from my experience. There is a historic fountain at the entrance of the Grand. With colored lights, the water dances to music while guests can sit on benches that surround the fountain.While breakfast was limited, lunch and dinner was available at the Hippie Fish restaurant on the campus, along with mini-gold and arcade. Free Parking was easily accessible. One thing that stood out was the fresh scent that greeted us in the lobby and hallways. The beach is across the street and just East is a large beach parking lot. There are multiple Waffle House restaurants and iHop on the strip to makeup for off season lack at the hotel. Walmart is also nearby for essentials. Good location and great stay. Highly recommend.

Love the place. Always have a great stay here. The security guards or parking attendants, whatever you wanna call them, were very rude though. They were chasing people down IN THEIR TRUCK to stop people from parking in the grass. Had a very bad attitude and they were tearing up the yard more than anyone. Also it would be nice to actually be able to control the AC unit. I love it cold while I sleep but AC set on 67 the WHOLE stay with no way to cut it off was ridiculous. Very clean room and comfortable bed. I love the property and will be back but please do something about ol high and mighty rent a cop. He almost hit some dudes truck driving like a moron across the yard like that.
