This hotel was an amazing one night stay. We had a outside Onsen room. It was so relaxing for my husband and I to use. The bathroom shower was spa like. All the hair & face products I loved. The PJ'S to relax in has made me want to purchase a pair while in Japan. I would stay here again. We did not purchase the food package and I will tell you for dinner in Amanohashidate they had 3 dinner choices. One restaurant that we couldn't get into, Ramen that was yummy that we ahd for lunch and a pizza place that was a 20 min taxi ride each way. Pizza was not a cheap dinner once you had the taxi ride into it. That was my only compliment about this town was dinner options. Everything closed really early around 5pm.

Had a really wonderful trip to Miyazu, and my stay at Hotel Kitanoya was truly the highlight of the trip and one of the best decisions I made. As this was my first time staying in a ryokan and trying a kaiseki dinner, the experience exceeded all my expectations.

The room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious for two people even with our large luggage. The private open-air onsen in the room was definitely the best part of the stay. It was incredibly relaxing and made the whole ryokan experience feel extra special.

The kaiseki dinner was also beautifully prepared and delicious, making it a very memorable first experience. The entire ryokan had a peaceful, quiet, and calming atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable.

Service from the hotel staff was excellent. Everyone was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, which made us feel truly welcomed and well taken care of.
As for the location, we were self-driving during our trip in Japan, so I cannot comment much on the convenience for those relying on public transport. However, if you are driving, getting around is very convenient.

I would definitely recommend Hotel Kitanoya to anyone visiting Miyazu, especially for those looking to experience a traditional ryokan stay. Would love to return again in the future!

The renovated western room was excellent. The staff were very helpful and the room was spotless. There is a large onsen attached to the hotel.
If you don’t pre-book breakfast it might not be available and there are limited food options in Amanohashidate.

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel Kitanoya. Everything was to perfection. The onsen has both indoor and outdoor baths. You can sit under a canopy of trees and enjoy nature! Our spacious room had a picture-perfect view of the bay. The food was stupendous. Fresh, varied, and yummy. The staff are very professional and pleasant. They did everything to make our stay wonderful. The location is just a 6-minute walk to the station, and the hotel also provides a shuttle. I didn't want to leave!

We had a lovely stay at the hotel and the in room onsen was a real treat. The hotel is slightly out of town but no more than a 10 minute walk. The hotel itself is a little old fashioned but many of the hotel in this region seemed to be similar.

Wonderful onsen hotel very traditional feel to it. Beautiful room, not use to sleeping on traditional Japanese bed and pillow so not super comfortable for me but well worth the experience. Private onsen amazing. Great location easy to get to. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of room for 4 adults

We did not opt for the meal package so it’s possible we missed out on an amazing experience there but we did not miss out on the top level experience of the Kitanoya. Full Japanese ryokan room with the most luxurious 2 person open air granite ofuro I have ever seen let alone enjoyed with a delightful garden beyond.

We chose this place to unwind from the crowds of Kyoto and we could not have made a better choice.

Service was impecable. Can I give it a 6?

The hotel matches the incomparable beauty and serenity of Amanohasidate.

We were unable to make it to the hotel. The trains were down due to a typhoon. While asking the staff if they could do any type of refund, they refused. The staff, decided to be firm in their refund policy. Even though a typhoon hitting and closing down the trains to get to the hotel. They should be more relaxed on policy when it is out of the costumers control more specifically when it comes to natural disasters.

A very pleasant stay and surprised that the rooms were so modern and well fitted with all the mod cons. Beds were very comfortable. Onsen facilities were very good. Location of the hotel was also good. Overall, a very good experience and I would recommend it to others.

Spacious and comfy accommodation but come prepared

The hotel was very modern, clean, and the service was perfect. Staff were very attentive and helped us to reserve a restaurant. The only gripe was that the female’s onsen was not hot on one night. Male’s side was spectacular and I especially enjoyed the open air bath. Room-wise, it was extremely spacious and offered the perfect blend of traditional and modern with tatami mats and western style beds. For food, Do keep in mind that you need to inform the hotel staff 2 days before as they need some time to prepare. However, it was definitely worth it as the breakfast spread was scrumptious

Overall, it’s just an ok experience. The hot spring was pretty good.

Comparing to the other hotels we stayed in Japan, our experience of this hotel’s service was below average.
We checked in at around 5:30, most of the restaurants were closed at that time. The hotel gave us a map marked with some restaurants, but a note was printed “Please make your own reservation”. Come on, we don’t know Japanese and how could we make reservation? Is it really that hard for the hotel to provide help with making reservation? After checkin, it’s pretty late and a local who was so friendly and nice that helped us make the dinner reservation.
At dinner time, the town was dead quiet and all the restaurants were closed by 6pm, or even earlier than that. We stayed there for 4 nights, tried to reserve dinners with the hotel, but the reply was they’re all booked, so no dinner at hotel.
During our stay, finding restaurants for dinner was hard. Staying for 4 nights was a mistake.

Overall the hotel is good clean and comfort room with 2 washbasins it was very convenient but less communication with guests as We did not know that our breakfast will be western style breakfast and about the shuttle schedule they also could not inform which we found it ourselves in the morning by the board they just put.
Guests have to pay everything as charged on the arrival.

I find the heavily chlorinated lukewarm in room outdoor onsen bath very disappointing.
When I booked the room, there was not an option to include dinner, hoping we could book when we arrive in early afternoon. However, the restaurant was fully booked, they could only us show the restaurants that are open in town, when we asked which one they would recommend most, they couldn’t tell us at all.

A little far from the station on foot

The hotel, as with many other reviews, is a distance from the station. We walked abt 10mins to 15mins on the main road and up a slope before reaching. Great views, but a setback was that I ordered 2 vegetarian sets but all 4 sets were the same - not what I asked. I saw that other guests had more dishes and was slightly disappointed. The outdoor onsens were good.

観光地まで徒歩15分ほどあります。送迎はしてもらえたらなお良かったかも。お風呂のお湯は熱くて長く入れませんでした。でもラウンジもあり施設は良かったです。

Chambre spacieuse avec onsen privé

Superbe hôtel, à 12 min à pied de la gare (marche en bord de route). Nous avons pris une chambre style japonais avec un bain privé. La chambre avec couchages futon et mobilier japonais était immense. Le bain onsen privé est incroyable, dommage que la vue sur la mer soit entre deux toits de maisons et derrière les lignes de la voie ferrée. Peu de trains donc pas gênant pour dormir et c'est bien insonorisé.
Le onsen de l'hôtel est également magnifique car il se trouve côté forêt, avec une partie extérieure et une partie intérieure donc même si vous ne prenez pas de chambre avec onsen privé, ce onsen extérieur est très agréable.
Attention, pas de commerce à côté, compter 15 minutes à pied et très peu de choses pour dîner en ville, il faut si prendre tôt.
Ne pas compter sur la supérette du village car peu de choix et ferme tôt.
Il y a quelques nouilles déshydratées dans le magasin de l'hôtel, prix très correct (300¥), pour dépanner si l'on ne veut pas ressortir et profiter de la chambre.

海から少し遠い点と、お風呂の温度が高かったのが少し残念でした。

整體住宿體驗很棒房間內有溫泉池也夠大兩個人同時泡也很足夠另外還有按摩椅泡完溫泉後按摩一下非常的棒房間也很大化妝間也非常的貼心備有2種不同的化妝保養品可使用飯店距離天橋立車站有一點點距離但飯店備有接駁車接送可以多加利用遺憾的地方有房間內的插座不夠多另外溫泉池面向天橋立海但因為房間在一樓加上溫泉池外的庭園有大樹導致無法邊泡溫泉邊看海實屬可惜

スタッフの方みなさん、丁寧で親切で親しみやすかったです。
部屋も広くて綺麗で、アメニティも揃っていました。温泉も広くきれいで気持ちよかったです。
朝食のみでしたが、美味しくボリュームもありました。

雖然地方設施不是很新，設施有點舊，但整體潔淨衛生不錯，房間不見毛髮和有異味，大浴場和私人風呂也不錯，尤其私人風呂感覺實是天然温泉水，而旅館地點較偏僻，比較適合自駕遊人士，唯價錢有點略嫌貴，因為我們四人同住一私人風呂房，平均每人房價$900多，而且沒包早餐的。

高齢の両親の希望もあり温泉付きの部屋を予約、気軽に温泉に入れるところは良かった。食事もバリエーション豊富で好き嫌いにも対応してくれます。部屋からの景色も良く観光にも便利でした。ゆっくり過ごせて両親からは大変喜んで貰えました。

内風呂付きの一階のお部屋に泊まらせて頂きました。

内風呂がサイコーです！！！
温度が　熱すぎず、ぬるすぎず　いつまでも入っていられる心地の良い温度設定でした。

そこから見える星空も満点でした。

事前に　脚の悪い母がいるので、簡易ベッドをお願いしますとお伝えしていましたが、桐の素材のような素敵なベッドを用意してくださっていました。

従業員の方も　脚の悪い母に優しく手を貸してくださりありがたかったです。

また来たいね、と家族で話していました。
