Well located in a quiet road. Room was comfortable, breakfast good with gluten free bread available if asked for.
The only minor downside is there was no bar to relax and have a night cap. That said there is a minibar in the room and plenty bars nearby.

The location is great overall. It's very close to the city center, but far enough from the city noise. The building is quite old, so I noticed that part of the floor is slightly slanted and the room layout is a bit strange because of a column. But it gives the place a nice charm. The staff was nice too. If location matters to you, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was incredibly comfortable. It is in the heart of the inner city, just a few paces from the Cathedral, and is very quiet. Rooms, breakfast, decor very nice. My flight was very delayed so I arrived not long before midnight but when I emailed from Frankfurt the staff were super helpful, and made arrangements so I could let myself in however late I arrived. Very nice welcome. Highly recommended

Great location just down the block from the cathedral. Room was small which was fine. The shower leaked water onto the floor but it was a slight annoyance but easily mopped up with a towel. My only issue was that the A/C did not operate and it was quite warm. I would leave the windows open but my room was entered from the outside and above a restaurant so there was quite a bit of noise. Again, nothing I couldn’t live with for the price. I would stay again if it offered the best price for the location.

Excellent room in centre of Zagreb. This small place offers 4 apartment style rooms but with hotel service, cleaning etc. There is no reception but communication from the owner is very good.

The room itself was immaculately clean, with coffee machine, fridge and with daily room servicing. Shower in particular was excellent and bed very comfortable.

Location is perfect for city break in Zagreb as very central, walking distance to bars and restaurants and tram network.

Breakfast at the restaurant downstairs was also excellent value.

Lovely hotel, comfortable and clean room, friendly and helpful front desk staff. One point to take note of: the hotel is inside a larger complex, and the only exterior sign is situated on a column that points in one direction (South?). If you approach from the other direction, as we did, you are likely to walk right past the entrance unless you are alert to its position.

Great location. Central air conditioning that is controlled inside the room and down to a very cool and comfortable level.
Pet friendly. We opted for the room/rate which included parking. The garage was easily accessed. Our room had a nice large corner bathtub. Some may indicate that the place feels dated, but the level of the finishes and the function of the space more than makes up for that.

Lovely hotel - but please get new curtains!

My stay at the Hotel Zum Dom was really lovely - very friendly staff and very comfortable room with one of the most modern bathrooms I've ever seen in a hotel room! One thing that is worth noting is that the curtains in the room are only net curtains - so anyone passing by the room can look in! It meant that the room didn't feel very private, and it also makes sleeping at night a bit tricky as I am used to blackout curtains. That would be the only thing I would change though!

This is a two star hotel at the most

When i checked into the hotel i was told by the receptionist that my room had been upgraded to a double because of my Expedia status. I carried my luggage up to the room (there are no bellmen) which had double glass doors opening into the hallway. When i went inside the room was large but it had NO WINDOWS. It was large, dark and stuffy as you would expect a windowless room to be. This was unacceptable to me so i carried my luggage back downstairs to the receptionist and told her the room had no windows and i could not stay in it. She then said she would give me another room with a window. I took the key, carried my luggage back upstairs to the new room, and went in. It was a stark room which looked like a two star hotel room in a former Eastern Block country. I originally booked this hotel because it was listed as being four stars. I can tell you authoritatively there is nothing about this hotel that is four or even three stars. A Holiday Inn would run circles around it. This hotel is classic low budget, no frills, nothing nice, two star hotel. At that point i did not want anything to do with the hotel because i felt deceived so I carried my luggage back downstairs to the receptionist for the last time, gave her my key and told her i was leaving. She asked me if i wanted another room i declined snd just left.
. If you are looking for a hotel with three or four star qUalities look elsewhere.

Stayed here as it was close to the university. Very clean, nice bathroom. However it was warm and the area was a bit loud in the evenings and early mornings, which made leaving the window open a problem. However I was on the 1st floor, so as you go up it may be less of an issue. The staff didn't have any problems when I requested and additional pillow, which is sometimes a problem in Europe.

Although only in Graz for only one full day, a number of the suggested sites can easily be reached just on foot, if you are going to do the 260+ step climb to the Clock Tower do this either earlier in the morning or later in the evening as it does get very hot in the summer months.

Hotel Zum Dom is in old palace with very high ceiling and modern furnishings. The hotel is close to the Graz Glockenspiel and the trendy Hauptplatz with upscale shopping, decent restaurants and tram links to all parts of the city. A European style breakfast is served for a fee and the Steak Boutique restaurant in the hotel serves a dynamite steak for a substantial price. A good value for a 4 Star hotel.

Bugs everywhere.

We stayed here for three nights. The first night there were bugs all over the room including in the bed, so we told the receptionist who had a cleaning lady \"clean\" the room. The next night we woke up and there were literally hundreds of bugs in the bed with us, crawling on us etc. we immediately called the front desk. When we showed the manager he called it and \"invasion\" and gave us another room. It was disgusting and I never received my money back or any consolation for the nasty bug room.

The hotel is located on a quiet street on the edge of the 'old town'. After reading reviews, I expected to be wowed by the hotel and its amenities. The room was a bit 'tired', but adequate. And the hotel is not as well located as I thought it would be. Graz is a charming city. Most of the activity; restaurants, shops, etc.; is close to the river. Reduced rate parking was offered at a parking garage about 500 meters from the hotel. The bathroom was clean, but tiny. The breakfast bar was fairly plentiful, and eggs and bacon made to order were offered on a sign. However, no one was around to ask. In conclusion, there were no outstanding negatives and no outstanding positives.

Lovely room in a lovely location

I had a lovely little room with superb location and service. Everyone went out of their way to help - from the check-in clerk who found me an emergency dentist within half an hour of my checking into the hotel to Marilyn who takes personal responsibility that breakfast be perfect every morning. The location cannot be beat - a block to the bell tower and minutes on foot along cobblestone streets along superb restaurants and attractions. European rooms tend to be small and this was no exception, but the location, service, and attention were huge!

Unique and cute hotel

Visited this hotel with my sister. A very nice and unique hotel in an old palazzo. Every room is in different colors and furniture's and tastefully decorated. This is not the ultra modern huge hotel with latest equipment but an elegant comfortable hotel in a very good situation just next to the walking zone of Graz. Very accommodating caring staff. The only negative point I would give this hotel was the Wifi connection which is free by the way but a kind of hassle as every single time I left my I-Pad for only a couple of minutes I had to hook up again with Login and PW etc. Breakfast is good but nothing extraordinary. If you want to save this money you can also go a few houses away to coffee shops which offers breakfast in the traditional Styria way. We opted to take the breakfast in house for our convenience and did not regret. All in all a very nice place I would recommend you will not be disappointed!

A welcoming hotel with very spacious rooms. Located in the lovely old part of town, not far from the cathedral, and yet it was very peaceful and quiet.We were a party of three, and our room was on two levels, with the master bedroom upstairs from the living area. The rooms were very clean, well furnished, with very comfortable beds. A large and clean bathroom. Buffet breakfast was part of our booking. Typical European breakfasts with range of cold meats, cheeses and breads. There is hot food available, eg. eggs and bacon, but you must order this directly from staff. Wait staff were very friendly and helpful. Wide range of teas available and coffee machine available for a reasonable coffee. Umbrellas available for use from reception (very useful and handy as it rained on a couple of days of our stay).

We stayed in room 25. When we arrived it was very dusty, especially the curtains and the curtain poles above the bed (curtains and lower pole are very low - 30 cm from your face when you lie in bed under the sloping roof with Velux windows) as well as a free-standing clothes stand and some cloth over the lamp in the ceiling above the bed. Kitchenette sink was dirty and the sponge provided was used and dirty. Fortunately it was rectified when I complained apart from the dust on the clothes stand which still had not been wiped. The wall in the shower compartment and above the bed between the Velux windows is covered in brown stains and requires cleaning/repainting. The sofa cover also needed washing. It is no surprise that this room does not feature in the hotel's brochure. Shower room is very small. However breakfast was very good and location is very convenient for the sight seeing. The service was good but this room definitely needs refurbishment and made dust-free.

My daughter had to leave a bag with the hotel for a few days and that was no problem for them. The rooms were nice and cool with the air conditioning.Would stay again, Would recommend for Gratz. Excellent location, close to all major sites in the Old Town. The hotel seemed tired and dated. Faded glory! Needs a face-lift.

The weather was cold and rainy, so the glass-roofed breakfast room was not seen to best advantage. It was cold and uninviting, and the buffet breakfast limited, especially in fruit selection.

Made Graz - GREAT

Our room was enormous with tall white and gold baroque decorated ceilings, a beautiful black modern desk, interesting massive modern wall art, clean wooden floors (though a little squeaky) and a history.The Lobby offers a great self-serve espresso machine along with smiling faces ready to help. The location just can’t get better. You walk out and you’re just a few steps from the Clock Tower, the best shopping streets, St. Katherine’s Church, the Mausoleum, and a giant beautiful park filled with ancient trees and picnickers. And breakfast, well it was Fantastic. They pamper you with local organic specialities such as chestnut honey and pumpkin oil, the breads are various and piping hot, the soft boiled eggs met the test of Gordon Ramsey - every time, teas were fit for the Queen of England, the coffee machine made everything including special lattes, their homemade cereals were tasty and wholesome, numerous healthy options (crazy I know in this region of ham and cheese), fresh fruits and special desserts. Plus you dine in a sun-lit glass ceiling french bistro patio setting. The staff made you as comfortable as possible, never rushing you and always refilling each dish to look untouched as if you were the first to arrive. We have a dog .The management, staff and settings made us ALL not only feel welcome, but certainly at home. It met my high expectations in service and gave me more quality that I have experienced in Europe in a long time.

Right in the heart of Graz

This is a lovely boutique hotel right in the heart of Graz. Each room is different, and the two we had were interestingly decorated in unique styles. We stayed with our teenage sons, and they appreciated having a room to themselves with two separate beds, while my husband and I had a double bed. The main square of Graz is a short walk from the hotel, and we enjoyed spending the day touring about. The hotel was easy to find, and although the off-site parking required a short hike, the parking rate was reasonable.

The Hotel is situated close to bars and clubs. This meant that it was the street below was quite noisy on the Friday and Saturday night. At 6.30 am the street cleaners and rubbish collectors make a lot of noise and seem to come in threes, so about a half hour of noise in the morning!

Fantastic location in the middle of Graz shopping district. Minutes walk to a few of the big sights, loads of shops and a street of restaurants. The hotel reception staff couldn't be more helpful and polite, very pleased with the service we received. Our room was just \"nice\", not amazing. Air-conditioning was good, bathroom was lovely, but everything else was a bit faded / dated. A few of the finishing touches were also missing in our suite - things like cushions on the sofa to help you get comfy, extra pillows in the cupboards weren't there and needed requesting, etc. The breakfast spread was generous, had everything you could want (fruit, yoghurt, cereal, breads, eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries) and again the staff were lovely and helpful. Overall I would recommend the hotel for the service and location, though it very much was faded grandeur.

Stay Here - Unique Hotel in the Best Location!

I love this hotel and will absolutely stay here again. The rooms are each unique and have their own individual charm (we stayed in room 6), the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. In addition, there isn't a better location in the Altstadt of Graz. We were surrounded by restaurants, bier houses, history and a vibrant culture. Love this place.

An excellent hotel with helpful staff

All the staff speak English on reception or who wait on. All staff are genuienly helpfull and pleasant. The buffet breakfast has something for everyone with breads, cooked meats, cheese, cereal, yogurts, jams, cake, ham and eggs, eggs served to your liking, fruit juices, Teas, coffee, quasaints, meat spreads and all the things I've forgotten. The first night we arrived we ordered a meal from the hotel restaurant, fillet steak, chips and side salad. The steak was cooked to perfection and made the meal an absolute treat. The cost for the two of us with service charge was 70 Euros.

A really great hotel in every respect

This is a truely wonderful hotel. The reception concierge was helpful, the room was superb.. The hotel is in a traditional building with lovely features plus is a bit funky in style too. The concierge staff recommended a brill resturant about 50M up the road opposite the Dumo. If i was going back to Graz I would stay here every time!

Just great!

Great hotel, great service and great location!.
We stayed in a superior room for 2 nights in October 2012. The room was in two levels. Living area was downstairs and bedroom was upstairs (via a spiral staircase). Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was very good with a plenty of choice.

Do not eat in the steak rest, absolute rip off, tried to charge 80 Euro for a steak we told them we wanted to share one as we did not want much. Hotel OK, lacks public areas and the barman smokes as he serves you.

Great location and wonderful service

The hotel has a fantastic location in the Old Town and is surrounded by shops and restaurants. The staff is amazingly helpful and caring.They printed info for us off Google maps and helped us throughout our stay.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Graz. Great place with large comfortable rooms.

Best affordable stay in Graz

Very conveniently located in the right in the middle of the old town, yet in the back alley so that it's very calm and cozy. The building is a historic old one, but is totally refurbished and is very modern.

This hotel is really close to the tourist centre of the town. It has great staff, the breakfast was really good and the rooms were huge, although the floors were really squeeky. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Wonderful Stay

Enjoyed our stay, especially it's location near so many of the historic sights. The room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the breakfast. The staff at the desk was very helpful with our questions, and they arranged for tickets for us at a concert at the Dom.

Great!

We really enjoyed this hotel - great rate from HdotC and a fabulous room. Good size room, large bed, creaky wooden floor that looked like we should be in Paris, a desk for working at. Very central but not noisy. Anyone else driving and staying for more than a day it is worth dropping off your bags and driving out down Mandelstrasse and then Peterstrasse and parking in the Green Zone down the side road of the Mecure Hotel - much cheaper at 10 euros for two days than parking in the old town and the 15 minute walk back isn't a killer! Didn't include breakfast but we are getting used to that in Europe. Couldn't afford two nights here - but loved it.
