Room was functional but not the most comfortable. The real issue was the reception and checking in, I had to scan a QR code and register at reception, then the receptionist rudely asked me the same questions, I think he could have just read them off my passport that I handed to him in the first place. He then said I have to sleep in bed number 1, making me concerned I have booked a shared room... I was in a single room with one bed. Unneccessarily rude.

I stayed in a few budget hotel brands this week and unfortunately this was the only one where I felt uncomfortable.

Very close to the Graz Train Station. We arrived at midnight and staff were great at welcoming us. The place was well decorated and stocked with snacks, beer, etc. in a nice and cozy lobby. Will definitely stay again when I need an early morning train.

It was cheap and location was good, and the room facilities were adequate. But the communal kitchen was filthy. And the service was pretty average too. Lots of guests checking in early in the morning and disturbing the sleep but I guess that's hostel life.

We did a last minute booking for a family with two kids under 5. They liked the playarea in the lobby and bunk beds. Other than that...everything kinda sucked. No parking, you have to make your own beds, slow service ( only 1 poor guy working...he was nice though stressed as he is also the waiter), super cramped rooms, water in shower was like a mist rather than a spray...we were thrilled to check out. However for the price i could see it appealing to solo or budget travelers. For me..not again unless desperate or wanting to save money.

Very good value for money, walking distance from Graz city centre. Hostel staff gave us some recommendations to visit in the evening. Comfy beds. We were able to park for free down the street as on Saturdays there is no charge after 1pm.

A perfectly lovely spot. Unfortunately a water main break occurred just prior to our arrival. We have been told that we will receive a full refund. I surely hope that is the case. If that had not happened we would have loved the space - simple and comfortable.

I can only review the customer service as we did not get to stay at this hotel! I booked it by mistake and then found I could not get a refund. However, after writing to customer services they agreed in my exceptional circumstces that a refund would be issued. For that, I was extremely greatfull and award them 5 stars for the customer service.

Stupid linen for pay.

Check in reception was saying if there is no linen in the bed then we need to pay to get the linen. In the six bed room only two beds had the linen and all the rest of them need to pay for linen. I was lucky and early to get the bed with linen and the others had to pay. Not good service at all.

Clean hostel conveniently located for travelers

This is your basic hostel. Everything is fairly new and in good condition. Nice multilingual staff. Conveniently located for bus and train travelers. Good transportation connections to old town Graz. Lots to see and do in Graz, a very lively little city. Fast free wifi. There were people of all ages staying here, from lots of students to families to seniors. See below for further comments.

Far better than expected. More like a hotel than a hostel. The room was fine, the staff friendly, and the hotel itself clean and tidy. The city centre is only a pleasant fifteen minute walk away.

Graz itself is a nice place, this hostel is not great though. The reception people were nice and friendly and the breakfast was decent . However it dont seem that the cleaners put too much effort in, the room floor was dusty, rubbish was left underneath and when i came to the room they had not changed the correct beds so it was not clear if it was taken or not. I would only stay here if you need to go on the train early or you are staying for 1 night.

Perfect stay for those who like simplicity

We stayed here for a night before heading to Vienna. The location is near the train station which was perfect for us as we arrived late at night. The rooms were very clean and simple. We thought that for a hostel, they were extremely nice rooms. The front desk was very nice and welcoming. It was also quiet so we got a good night sleep. I would definitely stay here again.

Disappointing customer service. Charged us for internet even though it was free throughout the hotel, and refused a refund rather rudely. I'd choose another budget option next time. The TV in the room was hilariously small, and the water pressure was terrible.

good budget accomodation in Graz, Austria

I had to find accomodation for a 4 night stay in Graz for a conference. The Expedia listings gave me many hotels with costs for this stay ranging greatly.
This hotel-hostel was at or near the bottom of the price range but I found it really adequate in all respects. While breakfst and wifi in the room were extra the cost was very reasonable. The lobby has coffee and cold drinks vending machines and a bar also selling snacks.
There is also a small library here and you can rent bicycles. In the recreation area of the lobby is also a free wifi area and some internet monitors and and a phone and i.pad recharging facility.
I like it that the people staying here include workers, students, hikers and other budget travellers. For me this is a more normal and welcoming place to stay than some multi-star hotel.

Straightforward hostel

This hostel seems fairly new and well-maintained. The staff is very friendly. The rooms were small but clean and welcoming. The staff was very polite and helpful. There was a problem with my booking initially, but the staff apologized for their mistake and no harm was done. I also had one maid, and then another guest, enter my (single) room; the rooms do not have locks (as normal for a hostel) and that would have been bad were I just coming out of the shower or something. But, again, very polite staff.

Einfacher Check-In/Check-Out, freundliches Personal, gute Lage für Zugreisende, da in der Nähe vom Bahnhof, super Anbindung in die Innenstadt. Umgebung ist okay, viel befahrene Straßen - aber in der Nähe vom Bahnhof nicht überraschend. Zimmer war sauber, teils etwas staubig, aber alles im Rahmen. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Ich würde nochmal buchen!

Auffällig schlechter Geruch, besonders im Bad. Lüftung scheint nicht zu funktionieren. Folglich war Fenster zu öffnen - verbunden mit hohem Lärmpegel von draußen in den ersten beiden Nächten.
Obwohl Kinder gebucht wurden, erst keine Bettwäsche sowie Handtücher vorhanden, dann war das Beziehen der Betten selbst vorzunehmen.

The black man at the reception it's literally the most rude receptionist I've ever encountered, not only he was giving bossy orders but also was giving incorrect informations.

The place was also quiet smelly and dirty, when I arrived I found above my bed a pack of used tissues. Rooms are very noisy as directly by street and train station, windows should be locked by key to avoid the noise but are not.

Sehr schneller und unkomplizierter Chek-in und Check-out. Wir haben das Zimmer notfallmässig gebucht, da wir durch Hochwasser in Graz gestrandet sind auf unserer Fahrt nach Wien mit der ÖBB. Das hat perfekt geklappt. Die Unterkunft ist sauber und zweckmäßig.

Rummet var MEGET lille, vi kunne ikke en gang gå forbi hinanden. Der var ingen AC og larmen fra gaden gjorde det umuligt at sove med åbent vindue. Der var også lydt fra de andre værelser og korridoren så søvn var blev der ikke meget af! Bruseren var fyldt med hår ( ikke vores)

Took about an hour to check in at arrival, due to 1 person handling checkins and serving guests. Had asked to stay in women-only dorm, but woke up to two men that had arrived in the middle of the night. Turned out they did have available women-only rooms that had been available all along, but for whatever reason they didn’t respect the request. They did however change my room the next , but for the rest of the stay I had issues with the key not functioning, which they helped me with, except for one of the last days of my stay when I encountered a very difficult employee who kept saying this wasn’t my room and that I hadn’t paid. Even after showing my receipt and proof of full payment, he was very difficult and kept asking why I was in a different room than first assigned. Other employees kept trying to tell him that everything was fine and that I was a guest and that they could see I had paid everything, but he didn’t want to listen to them and I had to spend nearly an hour at the front desk, after a long day and being very tired, trying to sort the issue out.

L'hotel est propre, les chambres aussi. le petit déjeuner à 9€90/jour payé sur place est parfait , très bon et varié. Seuls les cousins sur le lit n'ont pas été appréciés car ils étaient trop \"mou\". Quand je suis entrée dans la chambre j'avais pas fait attention au fait que le chauffage avait été mis sur le 2. Et j'ai eu froid la nuit heureusment je m'en suis rendu compte le deuxieme jour et j'ai augmenté la chaleur de la piece en le mettant sur le 4.

Zimmergrösse okay, Bad eher klein, aber funktionstüchtig.
Eigenes Licht und Steckdose fehlen, sowie Schliessfächer im Zimmer. Betten werden wirr belegt von Gästen, so dass kaum je die richtigen nach Check-out bereit sind (auch abends noch nicht) Duschtuch je nach Glück.
Lage top zum Bahnhof, Rtg Zentrum ca. 20 min Fussweg. Frühstück lieber in der Stadt.

Das Personal, insbesondere der Herr am Empfang, war sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das 6-er Zimmer war allerdings unglaublich heiß und laut. Da es keine gute Belüftung oder Klimaanlage gibt und im Zimmer auch 5 andere Gäste übernachteten, war das Schlafen nahezu unmöglich und unerträglich. Es hatte im Zimmer durchgehend über 30 Grad Celsius und um über Nacht zumindest etwas kühlere Luft hereinzulassen, blieb das zur Hauptstraße gelegene Fenster durchgehend offen. Das heißt, es war nicht nur heiß und stank nach Schweiß, sondern auch äußerst laut. Der vergleichsweise günstige Preis und das nette Personal machte zwar einiges wett, aber in Summe war es eine mäßig zufriedenstellte Unterkunft.
