A lovely hotel on the edge of the old town, so everything is easily reachable on foot, or tram if you wish to venture a little further afield or don't like to walk. Very friendly, helpful staff, lovely room, a nice gym/spa area & very good breakfast, decent value for 25 euros. A great base, therefore, to explore a lovely city.

Look no further. I was in Graz for the half marathon, traveling solo, and was immediately drawn to the Schlossberghotel due to its location but also for the interior, a combination of modern art and historical furniture and effects. My room was large, with a wooden floor and huge windows that swung open over an interior courtyard allowing me fresh air in the quiet. I had an enormous walk in closet, a gorgeous modern bathroom and a fabulous bed and bedding. The service was excellent - loved the front desk staff- and the hotel was immaculate. Delicious coffee and breakfast. Also, the terraced patio in the back offered incredible views of the city. Highly recommend.

This was our first time visiting Graz, Austria, as a stop on our way to Vienna. The town itself is very charming, and the hotel is located just 18 minutes away from Arnold Schwarzenegger's hometown and museum in Thal, a great side trip for fans.

We arrived at 1 AM, and the hotel reception was incredibly accommodating despite the late hour. Our room was surprisingly spacious, with a large living area that gave the impression of staying in a private home divided into suites. The many large windows and cozy layout added to the warm, residential feel.

The bed was very comfortable, and the overall ambiance was relaxing. The lobby featured a large, comfortable seating area, and the staff throughout our stay were friendly and helpful.

One thing worth mentioning is the choice of artwork near the room. Some pieces, particularly a painting of a woman pointing a gun at her head while having birthday cake, felt a bit unsettling and might be considered offensive to some guests. While art is subjective, this piece stood out as a strange choice in an otherwise peaceful setting.

Overall, it's a unique and welcoming hotel with a lot of character,especially great if you're looking for something different from a typical chain stay.

The hotel was located about a 6 minute walk to Old town which was an easy walk and right on the river. It was very close to the vernacular that takes you to the Schlossberg. It was a nice enough hotel but nothing fancy. Staff were very friendly.

I absolutely loved that it was walking distance to town . The property inside was beautiful every room was unique in its own way . The sauna and red light room was so relaxing especially after a long walk in the winter month . Breakfasts in the morning was fresh they made sure that we were all done before they closed the buffet . Fresh food was served when we came . Couldn’t ask for a better in this city.

This charming hotel is in a very scenic and convenient location for touring Graz. My double superior room was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. The wifi signal, although not great, allowed me to get some work done while trying to escape work for a day!! What made all the difference was the professional and courteous staff (and friendly, if I may add). I wish I could have stayed more than 1 night.

Great location for everything! Schlossberg funicular and lift! Murisel and a river walk 2/3 minutes walk. Tram stop at hotel. 2 stops to main sq. 2 mins. 5 mins walk! Staff friendly efficient. Rooms very well laid out and decorated. Nice lounge. Garden is vertical! Once up there, great views over city. Breakfast was popular and bar prices good for an hotel. Housekeeping excellent. Nice soaps, towels etc. Totally recommend staying in this hotel in Graz.

An excellent hotel with a charming boutique hotel feel but with a lot of the facilities you might otherwise only expect from larger hotels.

The location is hard to beat, being within the city centre and surrounded by the beautiful historic buildings of Graz. The rooftop terrace is something really quite special.


The staff were always friendly and polite and the breakfast was of a very high quality. Highly recommended.

The room was very big. Almost felt like a condo. They had the most beautiful park/garden/green space. The staff were incredibly nice, I was suffering from horrible jet lag/lack of sleep and they allowed me to sleep in. They even opened up the sauna at 2am to help relax me for bed. I would highly recommend.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Graz, and I have to say, it was amazing! Everything about our stay was just perfect. The service was top-notch, and the hotel was super clean. The rooms were great too—you could find everything you needed right there.

The staff were incredibly friendly and always smiling. They went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Even after we checked out, they parked our car for us and let us leave our luggage there while we explored the city. That was so convenient!

Honestly, our stay was so good that words can't really do it justice. If you're ever in Graz, I highly recommend staying at this hotel. You won't be disappointed!

The hotel is ok. The stuff very nice. Location good. No hotel restaurant, just a bar inside. The room was pretty comfortable with a big bathroom. But I had a feeling that the floor of the bathroom was dirty. That's bcs of the spots -stains from before . The door paint was very cheap I guess and there are a lot of spots on the doors too. No fridge in the room! * I needed to pay extra for parking even if it was not noticed on the reservation like for example extra charge for the breakfast buffet.

Old world charm on a picturesque riverside hill.

Everything about the large, comfortable room and bathroom was excellent. Hallways and rooms are full of interesting contemporary art. It was a hot season, and the AC worked well. This is a wonderful location right across the street from the tram. You will be charmed by climbing up to the platforms with sculptures, tables, view, and a small, clean swimming pool overlooking the city.

Very charming, spacious and comfortable hotel with a fantastic restaurant. Perfect place to land after a flight in/to Munich. Highly recommend Therme Erding to soak travel pains away (only 1.5 m from the hotel). Beer is excellent and the town is beautiful. We'll definitely use this hotel as our \"go to\" first/last night when flying from the US into Munich. Note: the front desk reception closes at 4pm. Be sure to contact them if you need to check in after them. They'll be happy to accommodate you but don't get caught by surprise. Not an issue if you plan accordingly. Nice parking garage under the hotel if you have a car with direct access to the hotel.

the reception was good, the room was large and clean, but to access it was through the breakfast room, and up a flight of stairs with no elevator. Also the room was rather dark, being that the windows opened into a narrow skylight.

If you have a chance to avoid this hotel, DO IT! The main thing I need from 5* hotel - peaceful sleep, but this hotel provides NO WAY for this! The hotel is situated right on the TRAM lines!!!! Th whole night you FEEL each tram in your bed! That's the worse experience in my travel life!

It's the perfect hotel in a perfect location

This is a super stylish hotel. From the very begining of the decorations to the well designed room. Clean, comfort, bed was perfect. Shower with tube as well as Walk in and two sinks. Big tv at the living room and small one at the bedroom. Location is near to the enterance to the castle (worth visiting) and walking distance from city center. A lot of restaurants near by. Breakfast was good but price was too high. There are breakfast options nearby with less money.

Wonderful Hotel that is light and bright and filled with the owners personal collection of modern art and is within walking distance to everything
The hotel has a great pool, fantastic salon to enjoy an aperitif, beautiful breakfast and a wonderful, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Viridiana was exceptional!
Our room was comfortable (great bed and pillows) however next time I would ask for a larger room that you do not have to duck to get into the bathroom (my husband forgot to do this- once:)
