I chose the SoCo hotel due to its location, the smaller size of the hotel and the à la carte offering at meal times. A wonderful experience! 😎

Linda and the front of house team, to Michelle, Shane & Zac who brought the energy to the bar area ensuring your glass was never empty, to Margarita and the restaurant team who worked efficiently at meal times.
Location
Right at the end of the Richard Haynes boardwalk so you can enjoy the pool, the beach or wander along the boardwalk to take in the stunning views.
Food
Excellent selection of à la carte options available at breakfast, lunch and dinner which changes regularly.
The size of the hotel allows you to regularly interact with other guests and get to know the staff (and vice versa) which makes for a more personable experience.

The Soco Hotel was a clean property. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. The bathroom was in need of an upgrade....very outdated! The hotel is said to be all-inclusive but the bar shuts down at 10:30 nightly. I was under the impression that at an all-inclusive hotel the bar and the restaurant would have some availability past 10:30 p.m. for late night-night owls.
The restaurant was only available for breakfast (7:00-10:00), lunch (11:00-2:00) and dinner (6:00-9:00.) You don't have an option for maybe a late night snack or any snacks for that matter not even water. l was disappointed. You are on vacation not everyone want to retire for the night at10:30. Also, the hotels website state that they have 24-hour airport shuttle pickup/drop-off. That is not true! The website does state that you have to request shuttle service 24 hours before your arrival BUT it does not state that you have to pay $50USD for that service. That information should be listed on the website.

Loved this place! Will never forget how friendly the staff was EVERYDAY! They always made you feel welcomed and the orientation was real good. They are able to book your daily itentary and provide transportation to and from each event. Rest assure you don't half to do anything but trust them! The food was amazing! (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner) The unlimited bar was nice as well. Would book with them or any sister or brother hotel resort.

A fantastic small boutique hotel for adults only. All rooms face the ocean with a balcony. The food was very good à la carte choices. Great views from the dining area.
The staff are so helpful and friendly. Linda was such a nice lady. Went out of her way to help. Great personal touch. The staff know your names and will always be there to help with anything you need or want to do on the island All the waitresses and bar staff were lovely. The beach is small but sun loungers are available. Can get drinks at the bar and take them out.
Ideal hotel if you are wanting a quiet and relaxing time. There is a great boardwalk right outside which goes along the coast. Great for walking and there are bars and restaurants along there as well.

The most wonderful aspect of this boutique hotel are the staff. Personal, helpful and welcoming. If you have the pleasure of staying soon you will get Loline, Zach, Shane, Michelle, Trudy and most importantly- Linda!! She was the gem of the hotel. Our waitresses and chefs were always amazing and my hubby and I will always support this small, independent hotel! The hotel is simple but clean, quiet and has easy access to the boardwalk and main south coast road if you need to take buses anywhere.

We enjoyed our stay at the Soco hotel, but there are a few things to take in consideration depending on people’s preferences. It is a very small boutique hotel, that being said there is no entertainment at night and the only bar at the hotel closes at 10:30PM, however they stopped serving at 10:15PM. The clientele is definitely older so that’s something to keep in mind if you are a younger couple. It is a very romantic and quiet hotel. Rooms all have beautiful ocean views, a bit dated, but they are big and spacious. Food is excellent, all meals à la carte which is great for not wasting or overeating. Some of the staff were amazing especially Shane at the bar, but some were nonchalant, a bit dismissive and rude. The beach is stunning, however there is not a lot of space for the beach chairs and they are pretty close together, but you can just walk to other beaches if bothered by it. There’s a nice boardwalk that brings you to other restaurants and beaches which is amazing. Wifi wasn’t great, I’d recommend of getting an ESIM if you need to stay connected or do some work. Check out is at noon and there are no showers in the lobby so if you have a late flight that can be a nuisance, however we were able to get lunch before leaving. Overall we had a great time and weather was amazing so that’s all that mattered!

This is a little gem of a hotel. The rooms are good but the view from the balcony is amazing.
The pool is only small but the sea is right next to the hotel. There is a man made lagoon which means the sea is slightly sheltered, its not deep and you can snorkel there,
Food was amazing. Its all a la carte so sometimes you might have to wait a little for your meal but the drinks keep coming.
All the staff are friendly and as mentioned in every review - you have to join Michelle's rum tasting!!

As an adult hotel we were very disappointed that the bar closed at 10.15pm and no entertainment. The hotel requires a modern ugrade looks tired and worn. Could do with fresh ideas and new furniture. Its in a great spot and the staff are faultess and the food is cooked fresh. We will defiantly visit Barbados again.

Had a wonderful time staying at the Soco Hotel. Perfect mid-range hotel in a very prime location that sits right on the boardwalk. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. Shout out to bartenders Zack, Shawn, and Tarik for the great company & drinks at the bar! The view from the rooms was spectacular - just like the photos online. The rooms themselves were very nice and tidy; bathrooms slightly outdated but it still met our needs .The food was delicious, although not buffet-style so if you need late night snacks be prepared to stock up a little stash incase you get hungry later. AC was always consistent and effective in the rooms. Would definitely visit again!

We had a really great stay at the SoCo. The rooms are a bit dated and noisy from the street BUT the staff are lovely (shoutout to Shane, Carter and Doncia), the food was really impressive for an all inclusive and the facilities quite nice. Things are compact but the sunset cannot be beat. We would absolutely stay again when back in Barbados.

The food was terrible and it took forever to get served. There was a cat that would sit on your lap or paw at you while you were eating every day.
There was no entertainment, other than a saxophonist one night...didn't even know if he was really playing.
There isn't a coffee maker in the room. Only an electric kettle and instant coffe, which never gets restocked.
The view was beautiful and so was the beach. The boardwalk is a nice addition.
The staff wasn't very chatty.
Was just ok.
Disappointed for what we paid.

The small sandy beach with crystal clear water was only a foot step away. The bus stop right at the front of the property makes getting around so easy. 100% recommend this hotel for an ideal introduction to Barbados.

Our first Caribbean holiday where we ventured outside the big established resort chains and booked a smaller boutique hotel. Our overall experience was pretty good, but still room for improvement.

First - the good stuff. Our room was comfortable and clean, with a great view of sea and sunsets from our balcony. The pool and bar areas were in good order (though maybe a few sunbeds light, and a bit more shade available) and the bar staff lively and friendly.

On the other hand - food, especially dinner, is ok but nothing more than that. We obviously weren’t expecting the vast range of options the big resorts have, but the menu was pretty limited. The waiting staff's attitude varied, with some friendly but others stand offish.

All rooms face the water, the deck, pool and bar were great and it is just a few steps to the water with the breakwater rocks close by creating a protected area that you can swim out of into open water. Michelle gave a great rum tasting for 15 of us on Wednesday morning (!) complete with sing a long. One of the best things about Soco is that it is at the end of the boardwalk, perfect for early morning and late afternoon walks along the water.

Soco hotel met all our expectations. If you are looking for a quiet, AI ,adults only resort in a great location this is the one . Easy to walk to places or catch bus , located on Richard Haynes boardwalk to watch sunsets or go to other beaches and small beach right in front of hotel which has boulders for relaxing swim. Never had an issue with getting lounger but we usually walked to other beaches . Meals were great à la cate which was a nice change from typical buffets. Bar closes early though (10) and hotel very quiet after that but we didn’t mind as we got up early to enjoy longer days. Gorgeous view from all balconies . Staff friendly & accommodating and service was quick! You can hear noise from the street but that didn’t bother us . Beds comfy . Room clean

The service and meals were outstanding. Usually all-inclusive resorts had buffets but SoCo Hotel had ala carte and the best meals on the island. Michelle’s rum tasting was so much fun, and the bar tenders Shane and Zach were so attentive. Even the housekeeper Trudy was delightful to visit with daily. Doncea and Sam were excellent servers. With a small boutique hotel of 24 rooms, we were able to meet all the guests and enjoy learning about Bajan and European cultures. We enjoyed our daily walks on the boardwalk, and we are already looking forward to our next visit to the best all-inclusive in the Caribbean.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Soco. The staff and the food were the highlights. The all inclusive package with al a carte dining for all meals was fabulous with frequent menu changes and high quality freshly cooked food at each meal. The bar and bartenders were great with a reasonable variety of branded spirits and some lovely cocktails. The staff without doubt made the holiday with a friendly team from the kitchens and housekeeping team to the waiting staff and reception. Kayla (sorry if spelt wrongly) stood out with great customer service skills and a warm friendly approach with all the guest. Management need to nuture the young staff member as she has great potential to progress far in the tourism sector. Our thanks to eveyone at Soco for making our stay so enjoyable.

When we checked in, we asked if we could get 2 additional towels but the front desk was adamant they didn’t have any so I guest they only own 1 had towel, 1 rag and bath towel per person. I’ve never had a hotel decline the request for an additional towel. Room service was inconsistent. One day they opened the door at 9:00am in the morning because we didn’t answer and then when we put the service needed sign on the door another day, we got no service.

The view from the balcony is stunning, the AC in the room is great! The bed is very comfortable. Only issue was I wish they offered more towels for the room, when traveling I always request a 2nd set, that wasn't possible here. They have however changed out the towels everyday. This place is a real gem. Yes there are bits that are a little tired but aren’t there in all hotels. However it is clean and charming right from Trudy in house keeping to Michelle at the bar with her fabulous rum tasting. Drinks are named brands and delivers with a smile.
The restaurant is al a carte all meals and the staff are charming attentive and well trained to the extent that they serve from the left and clear from the right! Wasted on half the clientele who cannot read a dress code. The food is a mix of Bajan and international full of flavour and delightful. If there is something you require ask don’t moan! If you are looking for sausage beans and chips don’t come here you’re not going to get it.
The pool is small however you are five yards from the beach and the beautiful Caribbean Sea which is warm and calm why come all this way and sit by a pool? Maintenance will also erect a parasol for you on the beach all you have to do is ask, sunbeds a plenty on the beach.
This is without doubt one of the best holidays we’ve had, from all round the world and fifth visit to Barbados.
Relaxed and recharged ready to earn some more money to return.

Restroom toilet smelled horrible. Like they never deep clean it. Rats by the bushes by pool. Heater did not work many times in the shower. The food was the same almost every day. Big cockroach in the restroom ! Some staff were so rude the host lady at dining room was so rude and no smile at all. Most of the severs were polite. I would NOT NOT AND NOT recommend this place.

There are no elevators at this hotel so be prepared to carry your luggage up to whatever floor your room is on. There is only one restaurant and there is scheduled times for breakfast, lunch and you have to make reservations for dinner. The beach is very small but there are bigger public beaches about a mile down the road. The boardwalk is not lit up at night so I wouldn’t risk trying to walk down it. The staff was very nice. The alcohol is included and the boardwalk sunset is a must on the menu. The buses you have to take to go anywhere drive EXTREMELY fast so make sure you’re holding on to something when you get in. You will hear them blowing the horns at all hours day and night. Their horns do not sound like our horns in the US and at first we thought there were elephants somewhere around. Overall we did have a good time and the hotel was nice as well as the staff. I would have preferred for there to be more than one restaurant tho. The food was good - just limited on times of when you can eat.

The location is right on a beautiful stretch of beach/boardwalk. I loved waking up each morning to the sound of the ocean and stepping out on the balcony with a breathtaking view.

The staff made the experience unforgettable. Everyone from Lila at the front desk to the restaurant team, Clive, Samantha, Angel and Shaquila, was genuinely kind, attentive, and always had a smile. They went out of their way to make me feel welcome and cared for throughout my stay. Trudi in housekeeping was also amazing!

The food was always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented and the vibe at The Soco is intimate and relaxed, perfect for couples. It never felt crowded or overwhelming, and I loved the peaceful atmosphere.

If you're looking for a boutique hotel in Barbados that delivers comfort, charm, and an unforgettable Caribbean experience, The Soco Hotel is a gem. I can’t wait to return!

This was absolutely a terrible trip my first time being out of the country. I thought this would have been fun, exciting and a newfound experience I would enjoy, however not only was a description given by Expedia wrong. I got very sick due to the poor cleaning conditions of the property and also them having animals on the property that was not described. this caused me a huge inconvenience and made me sick as I am allergic to cats. This property is not an all inclusive as far as food. It's more of an allocated you're only able to eat breakfast from 7amto 10 am very limited options. Lunch is from 12 to 2. If you miss lunch, you're not able to get any other food until teatime at two and it's only tuna sandwiches and tea. Dinner time starts from 6 to 10 all food about five options from breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bar closes at 10:30 PM.

Our stay was nice, the staff checking us in was very nice and welcoming and happy we were there. The dining staff not so much lol but it seems to be the culture in Barbados that servers are just not very enthusiastic/friendly but the dinners were fantastic!!!

The rooms were nice but the shower pressure was pretty bad and we were woken up by the sounds of traffic unless we kept the bathroom door shut (came from the window over the shower)

The little pool was WONDERFUL as the temp was always perfect and not too cold and never over crowded.

The bartenders were all super friendly and great

Perfect location if you want to try some local restaurants (which we did for all lunches) lots in walking distance.

My husband and I visited here for a quick 4 day vacation and regretted it! We wished we had booked for more days!!! EVERYTHING about the property was beautiful! The staff was friendly! The onsite pool was great! The hotel sits right on the beach which made our experience even more better!! We will be back for a 7 day vacay here in August! The bartenders on site was super fun! I wish I remembered their names to give a shout out!! The food was tasty!! Barbados is definitely a vibe!!!!

The hotel is cute, but if you have mobility issues it is very important to note that there is no elavator, the beach is not swimmable and has seaweed. The staff are amazing and the rooms are spacious and the AC is perfect!

Staff were amazingly friendly. Location is great with easy access to beach, surf shop, restaurants and bars.
Very clean room and grounds. A/C worked perfectly.
Only drawback was a lack of hot water in the shower. Staff tried to repair the water water and it improved slightly. Not a deal breaker:)

Overpriced accommodations. Defintely not worth the price tag.

Excellent personnel, but the property's pictures don't match reality (motel reality with hotel prices). Only three TV channels worked, the others didn't work.

Rooms are small, outdated, isn't properly furnished (outlets are weirdly placed, bathroom shower only had space for soap and nothing else) and the water was luke warm - we did the \"toilet flush\" hack to warm the water up.

I requested body towels after housekeeping closed (around 10PM) and was told by the front desk that they don't have the key to the room even though it's in their welcome letter to reach out to them after hours.

Food offerings are basic and limited, they ran out of items 2 hours into their breakfast and lunch timeframes. They also give you kid sized glasses for drinks. We spent most of our stay eating at outside restaurants.

Best part was the accessibility to the boardwalk and walkability to other restaurants. We would've suffered if it wasn't for that.

The area where the hotel is in is not upscale, it’s run down. The mattresses and pillows are very old and look very used. The amenities are outdated and cheap. The staff was excellent and friendly. Especially Trudy. Outstanding and super friendly. The food was fine.

We only stayed at this property for one night so perhaps it gets better if you are staying longer and become more familiar to the staff. However that being said, if I stay for one night or 14 I do expect a certain level of, if not friendliness, at least professionalism!
We did arrive early and although we couldn’t book into the room, which was fine, we were allowed to use the pool area. I asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere and had to leave it in the lobby which I didn’t feel was as secure as I would have liked.
We got the welcome email and read that you have to book for the evening meal. Therefore my husband went to the restaurant area to do so. The woman who was there was quite rude and told my husband as he didn’t have a room number he couldn’t book. This was eventually sorted out but only after my husband and the woman went to reception so she could confirm we were checked in.
We eventually waited until 3.30pm to get into our room and could only eat or drink if we paid for it. Which is fair enough.
The room was fine but on opening one of the drawers I found a long black curly hair, definitely not mine!

Our stay was great! I don’t think you can beat the view from each room! It feels like you are on top of the water. Yes, the beach is small, minimal shade and limited chairs but the shallow water is nice. The food is excellent. The menu changes every two days. They did a great job with my gluten free diet and everything I had was amazing. The resort sits at the end of the boardwalk which is great to walk daily. The location is great and close to everything. You do have some road noise but we didn’t mind. The showers are more like luke warm temperature but pressure was good. The rooms are very clean, bright and spacious. The staff is beyond amazing. Everyone was pleasant and smiling. This resort is a small boutique which we loved. Definitely a great place to stay and great value. We would happily return to Soco!
