We absolutely loved staying at the Zacosta! The manager George arranged our pick up from the airport and owner John met us at the gate of the old city to take us and our luggage to the hotel in his golf cart. John oriented us to the old town, the sights, and restaurants. We were delighted by the level of service throughout our stay. We were very comfortable in our cozy “cave” room and loved breakfast each morning on the patio with other guests. There are only 6 rooms, so count yourself lucky if you have the chance to stay here!

Great location, very walkable. Very kind, helpful staff. George was amazing, he took the time to contact us before we arrived and helped us plan all our activities. Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of food and excellent coffee. The property is very nice and comfortable, tucked in a quiet corner and still within an easy walk to all the attractions in Old Town, walkable to New Town and Elli Beach. I travelled with my two school aged kids and saw other families with kids at the hotel. I’d recommend it to families with kids, or couples, or people traveling solo. We had a great experience.

One of the best stays we ever had, right inside the Rhodes Medeival Town. No vehicles can reach, we are transported in a buggy, and thereafter, we can walk around the old town. George was very courteous, helpful and ever smiling, made our stay very memorable. Room was fairly big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. There's no restaurant inside, but there are many nearby, just 2-3 minutes by walk. Overall, one of the best experiences.

2 night stay at this amazing hotel before we headed down to Lindos.

Before we arrived we had lots of communication with George, and he arranged to meet us to assist with our luggage.

Check in was the best experience, complimentary drink and lots of help and tips about the area.

Clean room and fresh towels daily.

The location was perfect for exploring the Old Town. Minutes walk from everything but in a quiet little street.

Breakfast served in their lovely little courtyard and there was plenty to set you up for the day.

When visiting again, we would definitely stay at this hotel. Especially for the location and hospitality.

Fantastic stay and service, we will be back!

Our stay was fantastic from start to finish, in a lovely peaceful location just a short walk away from the centre of Rhodes Old Town. The owner arranged a taxi for us from the airport, and we were greeted at the entrance to the old town with a golf buggy to take us and our baggage the rest of the way to the hotel. The room was gorgeous, had great air con, a spacious shower in our en-suite and a very comfortable bed. After getting some food in the town in the evening we were offered a glass of wine each on the house when we arrived back, and there was also a small bar where we had the opportunity to order more drinks if required. We sat in the private, secure courtyard in the evening with our drinks. Breakfast was included and was a great selection of pastries, meats, cheese, salad, fruit, yogurt and cereals, with teas and coffees, all of which were enjoyed in the sheltered courtyard. We were even offered a lift to the port for our ongoing ferry the next morning, we decided to walk through the old town but accepted the offer from George to meet us at the port with our luggage. Overall a fantastic stay and if we are ever in Rhodes again we will not hesitate to stay at Zacosta.

I can't say enough good things about this wonderful gem of a hotel. The rooms are so comfortable and clean and unique. George's warm hospitality went above and beyond starting from the moment he picked us up in an electric golf cart from the ferry terminal and all throughout our stay. The hotel is perfectly located in old town Rhodes and you can walk to so many restaurants, shopping and museums. When we go back to Rhodes Zacosta Hotel is where we'll always stay. I highly recommend spending time here.

Zacosta is submerged in the medieval city, and that insertion is also felt in the.rooms and property which have a quiet and lovely atmosphere. It is just a short walk away from the main attractions. Staff is very kind and helpful. Our host, George, made us feel home and helped us answering our questions, and made useful suggestions. We will sure stay there again, I strongly recommend!

We wanted to stay within the old town walls of Rhodes and the hotel was an excellent place to locate ourselves. The staff are amazingly attentive and helpful plus offer the services of their golf cart for pick up and drop off at the bus or taxi stand when departing as the old city alleys are too narrow for cars. The room was clean, well maintained and packed with character as you’d expect in such an old historic building and the addition of a coffee machine was welcome along with complimentary water. Breakfast was continental with plenty of coffee and fresh orange juice on request.
I found there was a lack of consistent hot water for the shower in the morning but my partner took them in the evening and it was fine. Loved the breakfast and the only thing I’d add would maybe the choice of omelette or scrambled eggs. I can highly recommend a stay here

My wife and I stayed at the Zacosta Villa Hotel for 4 nights with our 4 year old son during the first week of April, when Rhodes was just reopening after winter. The owner John arranged our transfer from the airport and was on hand to collect us from our taxi stop on his electric golf cart for the short onward trip through the pedestrianised medieval city to the hotel. John and his colleague George were extremely welcoming and in the days that followed we were very well looked after by both of them. George in particular as the “morning guy” was our main point of contact. He oversaw a lovely continental breakfast and was available to provide any tips and help us with planning our stay. He very helpfully provided his personal number so we could ask his help via WhatsApp, and generously researched for us the options for a day trip to Lindos, facilitated a late check out on our day of departure (we were presumably lucky that there was no one arriving to take our room later that day), and booked a transfer back to the airport (with a further ride from John on his cart). We were very pleased with our stay and the entire staff was amazing as was the communication, making very easy to find our way there! That alone is worth 5 stars!. However, I was surprised that the breakfast was not a \"Full Breakfast\" as stated in the property description....It was truly a continental breakfast. Boiled eggs, no eggs cooked to order or anything hot...not evrn a toaster with bread....Maybe this has changed recently because many of the reviews (which caused me to book) raved about the incredible breakfast.....and I think its important for other potential guests to know the reality.

TLDR of this review: Just book this place. You are probably researching lots of Rhodes hotels but this is the one!

My partner and I absolutely loved this stay. We only stayed one night and we had the \"most affordable\" of the suites offered, but it was still excellent. The room is not big, but the amenities, cleanliness, and comfort were 5 stars. The bed was comfy, the Nespresso machine gave us energy in the morning and evening, the towels were soft, the shower felt great (and it had a window in the shower for ventilation, something I enjoy), the complimentary breakfast was delicious, the two staff members we met were very helpful and polite, the room had wooden rafters and an updated air-con...as you can see I could go on and on with everything I loved about this place.

Clean and very quiet, which is a big plus in a busy touristy place like Rhodes. Comfortable bed and a tiny patio. Very friendly and helpful owner and especially his assistant Niko. They drive you in a golf cart from/to the edge of the old town, where there is no taxi service, so you don’t have to trudge uphill with your luggage. The hotel is a few minute walk from all major attractions.

This is an outstanding place to stay. The staff did anything and everything they could to make us feel welcome and at home. We will not stay anywhere else whenever we visit Rhodes. Great breakfast, very quiet location, easy walk to the busy section of the old city, or to the harbor. I can't say enough about what a great find this was for us. They even made our 40th anniversary special with a bottle of bubbly and flowers. Just great people and a comfortable, pleasant room!

Don't think twice about booking here! We had an excellent stay. The property is beautiful and allowed for us to be in the old city and enjoy shopping and dining. The staff were incredibly kind and always willing to help as needed, and even picked us up from the port to help us with luggage and directions. Everything was incredibly clean and very comfortable, the complementary breakfast was delicious and we got to enjoy conversation with the other guests, meeting some very interesting individuals. I can't speak highly enough about our stay here, and hope that I get to visit again soon!

The location is perfect , in the middle of the old town and in walkable distance to the palace , beach , multiple restaurants and museum . John and Nick went beyond any expectations, John picked us up with the little golf cart at the ferry port and took us back . It was a great relief that we did not need to walk at 42 C heat with the luggages to the port . It was really exceptional treat and hospitality from the hotel owner John .

Good escape from tourisim

The hotel is located at the far end of the old town, there is no direct car access and you are required to walk about 8 minutes from the nearest gate. once you arrive you need to call the number of the hotel as the doorbell is only heard in a single area of the hotel and the property manager is not always there to hear it.

But once you get inside you see this amazing property that has been restored with the up most attention to details.

I highly recommend to everyone who wants to escape the tourists

This is a smaller hotel nestled toward the back of the old city. It was very comfortable and the staff were very nice. At the time, I was the only guest staying there (since I was in the off season). However, I was certainly not given any sort of disadvantage for that. Breakfast came at the normal time and was given no pressure for when to show up for it. I was able to ask plenty of questions about the area, and the staff were readily available. Overall, I had an amazing time at this hotel.
The only thing I would mention, it is a little far from the gate, (only a few minute walk). So it is worth keeping in mind they have a golf cart that allows for easy moving your baggage from the entry to the old city, (such as either the main bus stop for old Rhodes or taxi stand). So make sure you ask for it when you arrive.
Overall, I would highly recommend it, it is a very cosy hotel in Rhodes. I would stay there again if I was back on the island.

John is the heart of this property and he will go out of his way to accommodate the needs of his guests. I needed a small container for rubbing alcohol and I could not find one anywhere and John found one for me without me asking him. He is the epitome of exceptional service! I could go on and on with examples of his service.
The property is set back but not too far from the main shopping lane, so it is quiet.
I love the patio which is much nicer than the picture shows. The breakfast is very nice.
I would definitely stay here again because of the service and the accommodations are just lovely.

Our stay was lovely. Things were quiet, due to the pandemic. Yet John was solicitous to our every request, fetched us from the outside of the Old Town on a golf cart (normal cars and taxis don't get into the little streets), and couldn't have been nicer. Everything was COVID safe, and well thought through. Zacosta is beautiful, comfortable and peaceful, yet within moments' walk of the heart of the Old Town. We couldn't have been happier about our visit.

The Zacosta Villa Hotel is a gem hidden in the back streets of old town Rhodes. It has only 6 rooms and it is intimate but, at the same time, you have your own space and freedom. The hotel exudes quality in every aspect: the entrance, the courtyard, the finishing of the building, the reception area and the rooms.
Our visit was for 7 nights in Aug'19. Our room was well decorated and large enough for one adult and teens aging 19, 17 and 15. The air-con was excellent. The fridge was filled up with mineral water every day.
The WIFI worked perfectly and the best aspect of the room was the bathroom with fantastic shower, quality soap/shampoo and embossed towels.
The hotel owner, John, is totally committed to the enjoyment of all of his guests. He was the first in Rhodes old town to introduce a golf buggy to meet guests at the entrance to the pedestrianized area thus saving them a 15 minute walk over bumpy cobble stones with their suitcases.
Another highlight of the Zacosta is the relaxed breakfast in the courtyard. The local Greek yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and continental breakfast is a daily highlight.
The room is beautifully made up every day. Special mention must go to George who helps John in the hotel for his warm welcome and constant smile and helpfulness.
Another great feature is the recommendations for local restaurants. When the time came to leave, John took us in the buggy to the taxi he had arranged and our holiday in Rhodes was over too soon.

This property was outstanding. The proprietor was the most thoughtful , helpful gentleman. Breakfast was a wonderful spread each morning. The room was spacious , comfortable and fit for royalty. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue for anyone staying in Rhodes. Situated inside the old town, close to restaurants, far enough away from any noise. Perfect.

Lovely establishment in the old town

Wonderful property in the old town. Very convenient location and tucked away just enough to be very quiet at any time of day.

Great quality room. Very comfortable bed and well decorated throughout. Buffet breakfast was also good.

A small hotel in the heart of busy Rhodes old town, but quiet and secluded at the same time. John, the owner, is knowledgeable and helpful with tips about Rhodes, as was George. A comfortable bed, smart bathroom, and a spacious simple room with added touches: mineral water in the fridge, lovely Korres toiletries and some welcoming treats. A delicious breakfast was served in the courtyard including freshly squeezed orange juice. John knows his wine and has an interesting selection. The pick-up from the Amboaz gate and trip to the hotel in a golf buggy, is quite an experience. It's an old building of character, full of arches and windows in unexpected places, so not suited to those who like a more corporate style.

Zacosta Hotel in Rhodes

We came over from Fethiye to Rhodes on the ferry for three nights and we were picked up at the Ferry Terminal by the owner, which was nice as we didn't need to drag our bags over the cobbles of the old town. He was very helpful and informative and the room was very well presented and facilities were very good, there are only three rooms, with a beautiful walled private court yard, and breakfast can be taken here or you can rest in the day with a glass of wine. The area is very quite, yet in the old town very near the chops market, squares and bars. Only 15 min walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful place to stay. I read it several times but John and his staff are wonderful hosts. They treat you as part of their family and you will never leave his hotel hungry. Wonderful travel guide and a wealth of information and there to assist you with whatever you need. Thanks John for a wonderful visit and we look forward to staying with you. Also I would like to add all of your restaurants suggestions were great but Moma Sophia's is not to be missed :).

A very personal touch

We gad a great stay. John was so helpful in meeting us, chatting about Rhodes and helping us to leave for the airport. The breakfast was lovely and we ate it in the courtyard. We had a late flight and the room and shower was made available to us to use right up to the evening.

A Lovely Place to Stay in Rhodes Old Town

John, the owner, was a very gracious host and went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. He met our taxi at the entrance to the old city in a golf cart and took us and our luggage directly to the hotel, a short distance away but inaccessible by car. He offered to give us a ride again at night when we returned from exploring the island in a rental car, and finally took us to meet our taxi to the airport. Since we had multiple heavy bags and a young daughter with us, this seemingly small thing made a huge difference.

John is a native English speaker (and speaks Greek as well) so communication was easy.

Our room (the Grand Master Suite) was spacious and very clean, with a large canopy bed, a sofabed, a full sized tub/shower, and good air conditioning. WiFi was fast and solid. An ample breakfast was served in the beautiful private courtyard - bread and pastries, cheese and spinach pies, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, jam, sliced cheese, ham, and turkey, a selection of cereals, coffee, tea, juice, and milk. You can ask for breakfast to be served at the time of your choice.

The old town of Rhodes is a truly charming place, and Zacosta Villa is a great place to stay.

We enjoyed a very pleasant four days stay in Zacosta Villa. The hotel is quiet, clean, well maintained and the morning breakfast was very good. John was very helpful with information about getting around and how to make our time in Rhodes more pleasant.
