Property is clean and well maintained while being in a central location. Impressed with the staff in knowing their guests. I had requested a scheduled taxi for an early morning departure. I realized I hadn't given them my name or room number, but still received a call from reception when the cab arrived. That was impressive customer service.

Lovely hotel in center city

This hotel was a breath of fresh air. It felt brand new and had all the touches to make your stay comfortable. It is also in prime location and is the best place to stay in Chania. The bus to the beach is right close by, one is right across the street. The receptionist are so thoughtful, kind and friendly and makes your stay so pleasant. The breakfast is by far one of the best I’ve had in a hotel. The lady at the breakfast area was very attentive to my needs and offered to prepare something for me because I’m vegetarian. I highly recommend this place and I’m hard to please.

We loved this hotel. The location is perfect for anyone needing the central bus station and it’s also close to the Old Town. The reception staff are very friendly and although we left very early, around 4,30 am, they still had a pack lunch for us to take with us. Rooms are comfortable too. Very positive experience.

Not so good this time .

Often stay here, this time a little disappointed, unfortunately the gap between the ceiling and my head in the shower was about 5or6cm, and then you had the fixed rain shower 2cm above my head. I also had to go down several steps then up several steps to access the lift, I have a cast on my leg fortunately my only luggage this time was a backpack. The fuse box buzzed continuously rather louder than normal. But at times was drowned out by the noise from a large group of Americans girls staying on a floor below. I will be staying again as normally my stays are better and the staff are always nice, an helpful.

Perfect location for the old town

A very central location. The closest you can get to the harbour by car . Cross the road and it’s a pedestrianised area. A 5 minute walk from there to the harbour side.
My room was not at the front. This worked well , as others staying were disturbed by road noise ( motor bikes ) going around the square outside of the front. It was a weekend .
Take ear plugs. The floors if the rooms mean any movement of chairs etc can clearly be heard.
Good choice at breakfast , and friendly and helpful reception staff

Found what appeared to be a cockroach-like insect in my room, along with ants. After presenting the picture to the front desk (and asking for compensation or a return of some sort) - their response was, \"Sorry, you've already paid through expedia.ca and cannot refund you any money.\" They offered to spray from room with all my things in it; and naturally declined the offer. Along with poor room conditions, the front desk offered dicey bus recommendations and also suggested I take a taxi to the airport (25 euros) rather than the bus (much cheaper option that I would have recommended). Since this was my last few days in Greece, the hotel left a poor taste in my mouth. However, Chania is very beautiful and would stay in another hotel if I were to revisit.

Good for stopover

Don't expect anything luxurious. We stayed a night simply for a stopovers between our flight and Rethymon, in which case we would recommend this hotel for its location, however for a longer stay this would probably not suit. We regret not staying in chania longer, but would've chosen another hotel for this.

- Rooms are noisy - the walls may as well be made of cardboard

Even before we arrived, our email correspondence was pleasant, and we were happy with our room. The staff from cleaners through breakfast waiters to reception were always friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. You are close to the bus station, and a maximum 15-minute walk in each direction brings you to all the highlights of a stay in Chania. The Arkadi is not a luxury hotel, but it gets the basics right, and is popular with Greeks. It helped make our holiday relaxing and enjoyable.

Fantastic location - 3 mins walk from bus station where airport bus arrives and all local& regional busses depart. About 8 mins walk down main street of old town to harbour area.View of sea and mountains from balcony overlooking square.
Delighted to find shower cubicle in large bathroom and local cosmetics. V comfortable bed and efficient air conditioning.
Selection of items at breakfast in large cool dining room was truly amazing - local pastries, \"danish\" pastries, fruits and salads, cereals and breads as well as yoghurt and meaty things (these kept well apart so ideal for vegetarians/vegans).
We visit Crete every year and may well include a stay here every year.

Enjoyed 6 nights in this hotel. Little disappointed by the balcony on the hotel as looking at the hotel web site looks as if it is quite large where as in reality was only able to hold 2 chairs.

We stayed at Arkadi Hotel in June 2016. Hotel is really worth the price. This is quite big hotel with a very central and convenient location: near the bus station, near the shopping options, near the square (in front of the hotel), very near to the bars and restaurants and clubs, very near to Venetian Harbor and Lighthouse, (all these within 2 minutes walking distance from the hotel), besides, hotel is very clean (regular everyday cleaning), breakfast ok, very good free wi-fi all over the hotel, air-conditioned rooms, and lastly staff super friendly, helpful, english speaking, real professionals. Though beach is about within 10-15 minutes walking distance, it is still not boring as you get to the beach through nice streets. I highly recommend the hotel to everyone.

We took the bus to Chania from Heraklion. This hotel is located within a 5 minute walk from the bus station, across the street from taxi station and on the main street leading the markets, and the marina. We walked everywhere from here. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast was quite nice too.

We got stuck after hiking the Samaria Gorge and had to have the staff at the Arkadi Hotel check us out of the hotel without us even being there. The staff, particularly the receptionist, were wonderful and extremely helpful once we managed to get there and needed help with the bus to Heraklion and our next hotel. The hotel is also very conveniently located near the bus station for those arriving by bus. It was also the only hotel of the five we stayed in that proved real, freshly pressed orange juice for breakfast. Highly recommended!

In the middle of the action

Making this reservation when we finally got a parking space 5 blocks away, we were grateful for anything at all. What a pleasant surprise when the charming manager helped us drive our car the circuitous route to their little underground parking garage. Nice Greek breakfast, satisfactory room, wonderful people and action in the lobby BUT very loud at night as it is on the main street for transit and retail. That allowed us to walk anywhere we wanted, with our car safely in that garage.

The Arcadi hotel is a great find, centrally located around the corner from the bus station, at the edge of the old town and 3min. walk to the harbour with all it's restaurant's, 15min. walk to the Beach. The hotel was really clean, the staff at reception were very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the lift was very small (max 3 people) and very slow and the beds were a bit hard. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends and will stay again next time I visit Chania.

this hotel was basic. Didn't offer much. The breakfast buffet was good, the staff was very friendly. The location was even better. The rooms were just a place to crash in for 1 night. Big enough for 2 people, a little tight with luggage, but manageable. Only recommend because of location to harbor in Chania. The view from the 2nd floor balcony was great. The hotel has a lot of noise from people in other rooms. The walls are paper thin.

Excellent location, right on the corner of Platia 1866, at the border of the Old Town and the New Town. This was ideal for us, as walking into Old Town involved simply crossing the street, yet there was still street parking for our rental car (the hotel blocked out a spot for us in front) and access for a bus to pick us up for our Samaria Gorge tour. The staff was among the most friendly and helpful in all of Greece, a country with already excellent customer service. The bed was very firm, and the room was small (but on par with most of Greece). The building is older, but kept up well -- our bathroom looked recently refurbished. They had a fresh orange juice maker at the breakfast, which was a special treat!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in the end of August and had a really pleasant experience. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Also the wi-fi is available. The Arkadi hotel is really well located, just two minutes walk to the Old Harbour and also really close to all the other touristic areas and also 2 min to the bus station( the Nea Chora beach is 10 min walk). The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and welcoming, who made our stay so enjoyable. Moreover breakfast was great with fresh orange juice, bread, selection of ham and cereal.We will deffinitely recommend the hotel to everyone:)t

Arkadi's location can't be beat - its steps from the bus station, right next to a grocery store, and minutes from the old town.
The room itself is large, the shower is very clean, and comes with a huge balcony overlooking the adjacent square.
The breakfast that was provided is your typical cereal, bread and fruits but an added specialty is freshly squeezed orange juice.
The only compliant is the bed which was rather hard and not that comfortable. The A/C was also directed at the bed which made it too cold at night.
Otherwise, great hotel and we'd stay here again!

Great location

This hotel was in a great location to be able to walk around town and to the harbor area. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly and their continental breakfast was good. The hotel's a little bit older and the bathroom could afford to be updated, but it's a pretty typical European hotel and worked for us for the 2 nights we spent there. Our double bed was 2 twin beds made up with separate sheets, but we just pushed them together.

If you are seeking a dormitory, you've found it

Our room was located next to the lift and when it was in operation, you could hear the sound through the walls. The doors were thin and sound travels easily. I could hear footfalls in the hall. It reminded me of my days at university. Shabby hotel that could really use a update.

The location was the best in the town and the service, cleanliness, staff and breakfast buffet was quite satisfactory that made our stay very comfortable. OK for overnight stay

We arrived late in the night, so stayed a night before taking a bus to resort. The rooms are basic, but all needed included. There was cold water and drinks in the fridge left for us on arrival and AC was included in the price. Walking distance to bus stop and super market. Decent hotel enouph for overnight stay. Decent breakfast with fresh orange juice, boiled eggs, greek yougurt, cereals - you would not be left hungry. Willstay overnight again or for a few days to explore the town. Not a resort location!!

Great location, excellent value for money

I spent two nights in this hotel. It is great value for money, close to the bus station and just a short walk to the harbour. The room includes a minibar/fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and dressing gown and slippers were provided.

Good hotel with friendly, welcoming staff. Clean and decent sized room. Easy to find only a couple of minutes from bus station and harbour

Good hotel for exploring Chania town

Great Location, very close to market, short walking distance from old town, coffe shops and port. Friendly polite people .
Strongly recomended if you are not looking for a seaside hotel

Excellent hotel!

Stayed for approx. 1 week and was extremely pleased with the price and quality of the rooms. What stood out the most was the staff. They were extreme friendly and courteous. The location is second to none and I would strongly recommend staying here while visiting the beautiful city of Hania.

Comfortable, great location!

Great hotel in a superb location. Away from the pedestrian area, so your taxi can get right to the door on arrival. Clean and comfortable room/hotel. Breakfast was a little light, for our liking. Staff were exceptionally helpful! Fully recommended to anyone.
