Beautiful hotel, great location but small room especially the bathroom for two people. The front desk were hard to find and not especially friendly or helpful.

This is an old hotel right on the Ohio River with river views from the lobby and lounge. The rooms were clean and bright with good amenities. A refrigerator would be a welcome addition but there wasn't a lot of space to add one in the room we stayed in.
The town was the launch point for settlers into the \"Great Northwest Territory\" so there is a lot of history here with riverboats as a central theme. The hotels is located close to everything in town including some good restaurants.
There was ample free parking a few steps from the door. Staff were friendly and helpful. The lounge had a good menu and service with limited wine list.
If you're planning a trip to explore the town and its history there is no better place to stay.

Located in the historic town of Marietta. This hotel is unique and has a ton of Character. We ate in the Bar and Grill with a Riverview. The meal selection is limited but what we had was delicious. Would definitely stay her again if traveling through this area.

The check in staff was wonderful and so was the bartender. Our issue came from the bathroom. The toilet seat lid was dirty and the sink was right on your lap. My husband said even to stand you had to kind of scoot to get to the seat. The toilet also wouldn’t refill after flushing for like 20 minutes. Unfortunately that isn’t an exaggeration. When we told a new person at the check out they said they’d have someone check it out but didn’t even ask for our room number.

I made a mistake and booked for thursday night not wednesday night front desk lady one just brushed me off and said we are full you dont have a reservation. so i went to the parking lot and booked a room online for that night went back in and she was not really happy. front desk lady number 2 called me later and told me why i was not booked for wednesday and apologized that I had not been helped better by first lady. Our conference people were upset that no space was set aside for vender tables. the electric went out during breakfast the waffles were cold and water and coffee were only drink options set out during the day

Absolutely stunning building! The food was amazing! The staff was so friendly!! I loved the historic charm of the building & I believe it to be haunted. We had our own experiences that were definitely a little funky. Flickering lights, tv cutting in & out, whispers like “stop” & “don’t”. just odd coincidences, you could say. Loved my stay! It was a beautiful property for its age and history (survived floods), the rooms were small but well appointed (ours had a quaint desk) and the bed was comfortable. Our only issue with the rooms was that the shower never got really hot, just warm. The breakfast was filling and cooked perfectly.

Cool old hotel needs a good deep clean
I understand this is a very old building, but it needs a deep clean and paint. We were in the annex built in 1939. There were big pieces of paint peeling off the walls. The corners and baseboards were filthy and needed painting. Mattress was spongy and uncomfortable. Bathroom smelled like urine, the caulk around the base of the toilet looked to be the culprit. There were bugs of some sort crawling around on the ceiling and wall, they were coming out of the ceiling fan. The room had a funky smell but we realized the second day we could open the window and get some fresh air. Our room faced the river and it was nice to watch the barges go past. Air conditioner wasn't too loud. Parking was across the street along the river, fairly convenient and free. The staff was friendly and the food in the gun room was good. They have free breakfast during the week, order off the menu which was very nice. Elevator is tiny and dirty.
