Sad excuse for a Ramada hotel

we were travelling with kids and needed 2 rooms - gave us rooms on Different floors when there is NO possibility to use the elevator to get to the children's floor !
room temperature was 27 and rising as in a sauna (in the middle of summer 34 degrees outside)
Very outdated furniture
room was not cleaned properly for a few years
shower had a very weak pressure

the only good thing is that it is close to the center

Just choose something else.

Rude unfriendly. Brow water from plumbing,then yellow. Slowest elevator in the world with complicated key system that allows only guests to visit third floor. I saw elderly people take the steps it was so bad. Shameful.

Nicely centrally located hotel, very close to the old town and Christmas Markets. As for the room, the cleaning crew needs help. There was mold in the shower and a litany of dust and hair and stuff under the bed and around the furniture. I was pretty disgusted with the room when I saw how little a vacuum had been run in there. Oh, and there weren't batteries in the remote for the TV. All things you would think the cleaning crew would notice but didn't.

Stay 2 nights at Ramada Sibiu

We were in the hotel for two nights.
The room is clean and big enough but a bit old.
Breakfast was disappointing and did not match the standard of the Ramada Hotels.
Excellent location adjacent to the Old City.
Parking at the hotel in the garage is not covered 5 euros to 24 hours.
Indoor parking costs 10 Euros per 24 hours.
Parking on the street near the hotel at a price of 0.21 euro to 8 hours.

Modern hotel near old town of Sibiu

Nice modern hotel near the old town of Sibiu. The room was spacious and comfortable, The buffet breakfast was good. Parking is available but you have to pay, access to and out of the car park is not automatic nor key-controlled, you have to go to the Reception and ask one of the staff to go out to raise the car park barrier for you everytime. The lifts inside the hotel are also key-controlled. However, the room key has to be re-validated EVERYDAY, which is inconvenient and a bit stupid.

We arrived late and went to bed early. In the morning, we noticed the shower still had used hotel body gel in the stall as well as no tissue paper. There was a sign for complimentary items but unknown what was complimentary. Upon checkout, I discussed our displeasure with the cleanliness of the room and found out bottles of water were the complimentary items which were not there. The front desk did apologize and didn't make us pay the parking. Would have second thoughts on staying here in the future.

Receptionists are unfriendly. Needed a room key to access everything - elevator doesn't let you select a floor and we were unable to reach friend's room on another floor. Stairs are inaccessible. Bathroom strangely does not have a real door - does not reach the floor and does not lock!

Service was horrible. Sibiu was sort of disappointing. Our room was one of the better ones we saw in Romania and the breakfast was really good. Location was very walkable. But the staff was the absolute worse we have seen.

Awfull experience - DO NOT stay here

Multiple curly hairs in the bathroom - sink, toilet and tub. mold in the bathroom, dirty carpet full of mud, the internet did not work during our intire stay of 4 days, the minibar was not working so all the drinks were warm, the entry light was broken so you could not see inside the closet, you could not change the room temperature which was set on 27 degrees, the parking system required for you to get out of the car twice when going in the garage and twice when going out.
Regarding the Internet, their IT expert didn't even bother to come and help even though we complained multiple time to the front desk - the answer I received is that their internet doesn't work on Apple laptops. How is this even possible?!?!?!
Extreamly dissapointing experience and 100% I will not stay here again.

We stayed on a Saturday and there was a party downstaires. We could hear the noise. For a 4 stars hotel I found that inappropriate. Dont't book book a room if you sleep there Saturday night!!!

Our room was fabulous. We had a corner room so we could see the valley. Even the elevator had views. The room was very comfortable except we couldn't figure out how to turn down the heat so we were very warm. We didn't ask for assistance with this because we were always exhausted from our sight seeing. The hotel is very close to old town, where you can find the most amazing pastries and coffee and steak houses and shopping. The restaurants in the hotel did not smell appetizing and we did not try them. The man at the front desk gave me a very demeaning look when I asked about laundry facilities. I thought since it was part of an American hotel chain, a washer and dryer was a reasonable request. The hotel laundry service was prohibitively expensive. But overall, I would stay at this hotel again because of the nice room and the beautiful views. The \"kitchenette\" was an area with a microwave. No sink, no fridge, no plates or utensils. Our room actually had two bathrooms, which we felt was very luxurious.

I was staying in a Junior Suite.
The room was lovely and had great views.
Breakfast was great and the staff was friendly and helpful.
Only negative remark concerns the bathrooms. Both shower and bath need to be serviced. For example, there is no shower head in the shower.
Otherwise love the hotel and I'll definitely return.

Great location, great premises, great view

Great premises, spotless rooms, amazing city view from the windows, very decent house wine, 2 min walk to the historical center.

It is a known location for weddings over the weekend. Nevertheless, the rooms are noise proof - did nor hear a thing.

Management could
A)support employees more and help simplify invocing process at the restaurant ( did not have cash with me and it seemed to be such a headache to switch invoicing from cash to card that i ended up with a short trip to get cash)
B) work better with the spa center to offer massage services in the guest's room as well as at the spa.

Overall a good stay.

Great location - poor wifi in Suite 310.

Overall a great hotel - super convenient and close to the old town - totally walkable. However, we were in a more expensive room (Jr Suite) and the wifi was terrible. When I called, they said they'd send someone and no one showed up for 30min...I had to call back and then they said no one was available. I got upset and they sent a coworker from reception who didn't know anything about the IT setup and basically brought me an ethernet cable to try connecting. Not helpful for wireless devices. Luckily I had my dongle. He said the wireless router was too far and the signal wasn't reaching...that is not acceptable at a business/high-end hotel - especially in one of the expensive rooms. Please improve it Ramada!

Me and my husband wanted to spurge on a 4 star hotel for our honeymoon, so we chose the Ramada. We were disappointed In the unwelcoming service. We booked a queen room, when we got to the room it was a twin. When we called down to clarify what we booked the staff memeber said I booked a single twin room and if I wanted an upgrade I would have to pay for it. I said I could show him my confirmation- they ended up moving us rooms to the correct one (and said I didn't need to pay the difference, but it's the one I paid for?) anyway, problem solved but I've received better service from hostels. Poor wifi for such a large hotel chain.

Extra charges at the hotel!

Good location and very clean hotel.

We had a bad experience at the restaurant and at the reception:
* we ordered 2 glasses of red wine ant they charged us the most expensive from the price list without making us aware and confirming if we agree the prices (there are 3 different prices for the red wine by glass, they dont explain the difference and they do not agree with you the prices they decid to charge)
* at the check-out we had to pay an extra 10 Euro for the parking place, without being notified that the parking place is not included in the room rate and without informing us about the prices for outside parking lots and underground parking places. When booking there is only one price for parking (22 RON, but the hotel explained that this is for the outside lots). When we checked, they asked us if we need the parking, without explaining that is extra charge (we paid the room in advance).

It is not the value, it is the way this hotel charge the customer without any prior notice and price confirmation.

A great room and a great hotel

We had a very nice and large room. Air conditioning was working well. It was very clean. We had a very nice view over the city. The hotel is located near the Old Town, which is very convenient. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and there was a lot a variety (cold and hot). We would stay again at this hotel in the future. We highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect rooms- large, comfortable beds and great shower. Great location, just 2 mins walk to the pedestrianised street with its restaurants and bars. Straight into the historical areas from there. Couldn't have chosen a better hotel in Sibiu. It was more expensive than some of the other places we stayed, but great value for money. Will stay again next time we're in Sibiu. Wifi was free, fast and reliable, indoor parking only 10 Euros per night (or 5 Euros for outdoor). Hotel restaurant and bar were ok, but no need to use them when the centre of Sibiu is right on the doorstep. This was our favourite hotel of the Romania trip.

Good Hotel for Exploring Sibiu.

For 5 days with friends, exploring town and area, this hotel served well. Wish the printer in the business center had more toner so our printed boarding passes were legible, but otherwise, this was a classy place. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it.

High level hotel close to the ancient city

The hotel in beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
I recommend to stay in high floors, there is a magnificent view of the town.

However, there were several disadvantages:

1.The parking was VERY expensive (10 Euros per day!). For comparison, in Bucharest we got a free parking, and in Sovata we paid 10 Lei per day.
I stayed in this hotel for only a single night, but if one plans a longer stay in Sibiu with a car, maybe it would be better to look for another hotel.

2. The water stream in shower was very weak, almost impossible to take a shower.

The place to stay in Sibiu

We stayed in Sibiu for three days and four nights. The staff were friendly, knowledgable and fluent in English. All our requests were met even though they were not on the initial reservation. Thank you for making our stay memorable and really worthwhile. We'll definitely be back for more days to enjoy all that this charming city has to offer.

Simply the best...in Sibiu!

For me, having stayed in a good number of Sibiu's top hotels in recent weeks, the Ramada beats them all. The staff are extremely friendly (some weeks had passed between visits 2 & 3, but Roxana, the receptionist greeted me by name as I approached the counter, and the concierges both remembered my name, too), the rooms are excellently appointed, and, from rooms at the rear of the hotel, above, I guess, floor 7, the view is quite wonderful. I couldn't find any fault, even the wi-fi was clocking speeds of 30mbs. Thank you, Ramada! You'll always be my first choice in your lovely city.

Great stay in Sibiu

Having been at two other 'top' hotels on this trip, in this city, I'm glad I was at the Ramada last, as it is by far and away the nicest, in terms of conditions, staff, and services. Very comfortable room, wonderful views right over the city, very good standard of cleanliness, charming, courteous staff. The best!

Worst service ever.

I shared a room with a friend for 16 days in this hotel. We were there for the 58th European Go Congress, organized in the same hotel. Everything was acceptable until they actually stole from us.

One day, we couldn't access our room anymore. We went to the reception to ask why and they told us we broke a lamp. Of course we didn't, but they showed us a picture the cleaning lady apparently took in our room and said we had to pay.

We asked to see the lamp. We also had to access the room anyway because our money was there. They gave us access, but the lamp wasn't there anymore. Instead, we found a third card for our room. It clearly didn't belong to us because they only gave us 2.

We went back to the reception with the suspicious card and no lamp. They gave no explanation about it and told us the cleaning lady took the lamp. We told them we wanted to see it, so they sent us back to the room and said somebody would bring it.

When we arrived, we found the broken lamp in the corridor, in front of our door. The top part, made of a plastic weaker than paper, was completely shattered and the base was unscrewd. We brought it back to the reception and told the guy there was no way we could destroy a lamp like this without noticing. Lacking any good argument, he told us to wait for the manager.

The manager arrived about 30 minutes later. He said he talked with the cleaning lady, and she said she found the broken lamp standing on our desk. We explained him we found the lamp in two pieces, so it could not possibly be standing. Lacking any good argument, he told us to wait for his boss.

The boss arrived about 45 minutes later, saying he talked with the cleaning lady and confirmed she found the lamp standing in our room. Not in he mood to call the police or to teach logic to a third brainless employee, we paid 60 euro for the ugliest lamp ever conceived by man, and left.

It was a good hotel. The bathroom setup was a little strange in the sense that there was not a full glass door for the shower, only half of a glass. The result was making a mess when the water left the tub over the uncovered area. Other than that, everything was good.
