Excellent location and stay

Excellent stay for Sibiu right in the old town. Parking is not close by so if you have tons a luggage may be more difficult. I am not sure if it’s easily accessible for persons with mobility disabilities.

Location and comfort

Location is superb. Extremely convenient for seeing all Sibiu has to offer. Although the hotel looks historic from the outside it is being renovated and our rooms on the second floor were modern and clean.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Room even had a bluetooth speaker on the wall you could play your music through - never seen this before.
Would highly recommend and will return when we are next in Sibiu.

Amazing Hotel

I was so impressed with the Casa Luxemburg. A beautiful palace and the room I was expecting turned out to be a large suite.Very nicely furnished and everything you could want. Bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great location right in the centre of Sibiu. And the price was very good. Very much definitely recommended.

Historic guesthouse in a great location overlooking the Liar's Bridge and Piata Mica to the front and the Lutheran church to the back. Large room with a separate kitchen/living room area. Great breakfast included at nearby Cafe Wien. Great base to explore the town and Transylvania.

Very good position in the center of Sibiu in the small square.Very good breakfast at cafe Wien ,very close to the hotel.As an inconvenience, it does not have its own parking lot, having to park on the side streets.The night is cold in the rooms.

Great value and top location

With spacious rooms overlooking Piata Mica Casa Luxemburg is a perfect base for enjoying and exploring Sibiu. Our room was attractively furnished if low key with great views over the Piata for the finale of the theatre festival. Parking is available in the Piata and reasonably priced by UK standards. We had a warm welcome even though we were late and the receptionist had waited some time for us. Great breakfast choice. Excellent value and would happily stay again

The location of this hotel can't be beat. Right on the square, and, if you've rented a car, parking is right there as well (2 lei an hour, which is a steal considering U.S. hotels charge $50.00 a night now). There is also free parking outside the square. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. There is a small gift shop in the lobby, and the staff will direct you to the stores of the Romanian artists so you can peruse further. The Bridge of Lies is is right outside. Rooms were spacious and airy - You can open the windows for a cool breeze should you want. Only downside is the breakfast buffet is cold only - no hot dishes, but it is satisfactory enough to slake your hunger until lunch. Loved the hotel and the town and wish we could have stayed a little longer.

Excellent location, excellent staff

We have stayed at Casa Luxembourg twice now and will stay again. The building is charming and in the best location in Sibiu. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Yes, there is no elevator; but unless you have a medical need for one, the highest rooms are two flights only, so not a problem. I highly recommend the Casa Luxembourg!

Great location, old world charm

The hotel isn’t fancy but it is charming. We had a terrible experience at the airport on our way in and the staff at the hotel were a welcome port in our storm. Friendly, helpful; the young woman carried my bag up three flights of stairs with ease. The breakfast was simple and rustic. Perfect start to our day. The location is great. For the price, you cannot beat this place.

Breakfast ended 1 hour before the specified time. I forgot my parfume and it was not returned to me. It's an old charming hotel, but you will hear every step on the wooden hallway and stairs. I had to carry my language on the spiral stairs, there is no elevator.
If you have no lagguage, don't care about the money you spent for breakfast and make sure you won't forget anything, it's a good place to stay.

Hotel was in a historic and very central location right in the historic center. Our room was quite large with a kitchenette which is great for families. Everything was at our doorstep including the city's main attractions and restaurants.

Parking next to hotel is not free. However there is free street-side parking before entering the square.

Good location but worn out

Hotel staff were really helpful, the location is really great, but the building is really worn out on the inside. Also, rooms are stair access only, and the bathroom cleanliness in the rooms was so-so. The best part of this hotel is the staff, but the hotel itself isn't brilliant.

Fantastic location, lovely hotel

Fantastic location, just in the corner of the smaller main square. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was fantastic - very large and light, with views across the square, and 'liar's bridge'. The bed was comfy, breakfast was good. Wifi was free and fast. Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. Lovely town to wander around.

Hotel is located in the old city centre, with lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We stayed in two different rooms - firstly a very large room at the back facing the church with a super king sized bed and then when we can back a few days later we chose a different room at the front which had a very comfy bed however the street lights were quite bright in the room at night.

Characterful and quiet in the heart of Sibiu

We had a wonderful stay. It's a small hotel - 7 rooms we think. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great views over an old church and peaceful at night - slept very well. Wifi was very good and fast. Would love to stay again.

Great location in historic center with super staff

Perfect location in Old City for exploring the churches and sites. Our receptionist helped us locate a drop off laundry. Called them and acted as interpreter, then entered it in our GPS!! The room was spacious, quiet, the beds were comfortable, overlooked the big cathedral. Good wifi. Breakfast had nice selection with eggs prepared to order.

Comfortable hotel in old town center

Very pleasant staff speaks good English. Room spacious and clean and nicely furnished. Conveniently and quaintly located in the heart of the historical old town, in the midst of lively restaurants and cafes, some with musicians, and near the main historical attractions. We were a little anxious, at first that the nights might be noisy, but things quieted down before midnight and it was actually very peaceful. Nice breakfast buffet and helpful advice on things to do and see at the reception desk.

Spacious apartment in great location

A wonderful apartment room, equipped with a mini kitchen, a nice tub, separate living room and bed room. We couldn't have asked for anything more! The room we stayed in had a lovely view of the Iron Bridge and was very close to several restaurants and was an easy walk to/from the bus/train station.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!

Staffs 5 star, helpful and very friendly.
Is not perfect because the bed was make a lot noise when you move.
But the build is beautiful and the breakfast is great.

Loud Music Performance made sleep difficult

Good small hotel right in the thick of things in Sibiu. Our main problem was that there was a Very Loud music stage just outside the hotel where the performance of loud rock music went on until midnight. Impossible to sleep or rest until the \"music\" stopped. After than it was a good night. Hotel staff told us that the price of the room did not include breakfast, but agreed to provide it after I showed them the confirmation. They are sure that the booking company made a mistake If I had not had the confirmation they would not have agreed.. The staff was very pleasant, even in their refusal to provide breakfast based on my verbal assurance to them.

This is a beautifully restored historic building within walking distance of most of the sights. The staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included. Restaurants, shopping, churches, historic sights and the train and bus stations are within walking distance. The town itself has an atmosphere.

A+ loctation is great!!!!!!!! and not hard to find even with a taxi who speaks no English! 2 minor issues beds were firm ( kind of a standard in Europe anyways) and hot water in the shower took a few minutes. Would recommend & would stay again! Staff was fabulous and able to help me with anything I asked.... Very kind sweat people! Also great pricing

Unique style and close to CBD

Apart from the fact that the hotel has no lift - so if you have heavy luggage get help - the accomodation and eating areas were clean, warm (as we travelled in winter), quiet and close to CBD and staff was ever so friendly and helpful.

Brink your walking shoes

We arrived near 10 pm and and all roads going uphill to old town were closed. We had to park several blocks away and carry our luggage. Since the hotel is in the middle of downtown it is quite a scenic area, but very difficult to locate even with a gps since the roads are a maze with, one way streets, closed/blocked roads and no access to anywhere near hotel.

A gem in Sibiu!

Terrific little hotel in the most charming square in town! The staff was very attentive and available for all our questions and needs. The room itself was quite comfortable. We got upgraded to a small apartment suite (which I didn't mind at all). The layout of the place was a little odd since there was a side room with a little sofa shoved in it and not much room for anything else. Another curiosity was that although we were only on the 2nd floor and had to walk up 2 flights of stairs, my legs were exhausted when I reached the top, I still can't explain why that would be, but it happened every time. The location is exactly where you want to be in Sibiu. Parking is a little tricky (as is finding the place initially), but it's manageable. We could barely see the Liar's Bridge from our room. (It's right below, but at a sharp angle.) The squares are interconnected and be sure your camera has a fully charged battery. Every angle is photogenic!

This hotel has it all, Excellent location, right in the heart of most of the tourist attractions, restaurants all around, esplendid view from the rooms, attentive staff, good price...
we are a couple with two children, 8 and 4, and had the apartment the hotel has attatched to it, it has two rooms, kitchenette and dining table, ample bath with bath tub, we only stayed one night so did not use all of the features, but if you plan on staying several days this is defenitely your best option.
it even has a tourist information section downstairs and an excellent restaurant and live piano music bar.
highly recommended.

Giant rooms, great gem of a hotel

The rooms were massive; more like a suite really. We had two bedrooms, an entrance way and a big bathroom, all for only $50 per night. The staff was very friendly, spoke great English and even helped us lug our bags up the cool spiral staircase as we stayed on the second floor. The hotel does have an annex where our friends stayed. Their room was just as lavish, we just weren't aware that they offered separate buildings. The location is great and central to the \"old town\" of Sibiu. Some of the chain hotels aren't within a short walk to any parts of the old town. Very satisfied and would definitely recommend.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The location is amazing...right off of the main square with tons of restaurants / bars within walking distance. We parked in the large parking lot directly in front of the hotel. The guy at reception said there was cheaper / free parking on the street but we didn't feel like moving the car or figuring it out. In the end, we didn't have to pay for parking because the machine was broken. But it would have ended up being $15 USD for about 18 hours of parking...expensive for Romanian standards but a bargain compared to DC standards. I really loved the charm of this hotel and would stay there again!

Great value for money

I made reservations late so on my second night in Sibiu had to stay across the square in Villa Astoria. Villa Astoria is lovely hotel but too much for what I needed. Casa Luxemburg is the perfect middle ground; not too much and not a threadbare hostel. Nice fluffy towels, clean everything. The room was small but just enough. Jetlag prevented my noticing that the reception desk doubles as an excellent tourist information office for the city and region.

I stayed at Casa Luxemburg for two weeks. The hotel is lovely, the staff super friendly, and the rooms are clean. Through my window, I had a beautiful view on Sibiu Lutheran Cathedral. The hotel is as central as it gets in Sibiu with countless restaurants and cafes nearby. Brukenthal Museum, Council Tower, Bridge of Lies, and Sibiu Lutheran Cathedral are all within 2-5 minutes walking distance. Despite its central location, the hotel is situated a little bit on the side of a large plaza, which makes the place astonishingly quiet. The hotel staff is super friendly, attentive, and helpful. I liked the breakfast buffet and the eggs personally prepared for every guest, depending on their wishes. Should I visit Sibiu in the future, I would be more than happy to stay at Casa Luxemburg again.

Unglaublich stilvolle Einrichtung (Wohn-Schlafraum, aber auch das Badezimmer), viel Platz, sehr zentral direkt an der Plata Mica. Einzig etwas komisch war das Nichtauffüllen der Minibar, das unregelmassige Zimmerservice (mal wurden Betten gemacht, mal nicht, anfangs die Handtücher unnötigerweise täglich gewechselt, dann 3 Tage nicht). Aber das war auch der einzige Punkt, und Rezeptionspersonal war super freundlich. Würden jederzeit wieder dorthin gehen!
