Everything you would expect in a modern hotel. There’s a very good free breakfast included which is always a bonus.
The only downside is the 10 minute walk to the old town. If this hotel was 500 m closer, it would be perfect.
Overall, I would rate at 9 out of 10

Incredible stay, great staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and tons of amenities. All at a super reasonable price. One of the best hotels I’ve ever been to, breakfast was also awesome. WiFi was fast. No complaints.

Will stay again next time in Sibiu.

Really enjoyed our stay. Service was excellent. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was of a very high standard, with plenty of choice and served in the rooftop restaurant giving great city and Mountain View’s. We also used the restaurant in the evening, which was very good and reasonably priced.
The hotel gym is well equipped and helped work off all the food we were eating.
Hotel allocated parking in front of reception. We parked up for our stay and walked into town, which took about 12 minutes.

The property is good value for money and is within walking distance of the city centre. Note that the sauna and Jacuzzi need to be booked and paid for separately. The cost for these facilities is per person, not per hour booked. The breakfast is on the 11th floor of the building, with a lovely view of the city. The breakfast options are good. The reception staff work hard.

I am afraid that this hotel suffered in comparison to our hotel in Bucharest. It is modern and stylish but lacks in substance. No hanging space, no water was supplied in room which was disappointing, my pet moan, there was no holder for toothbrush or razor, where am i supposed to put them, parking is not guaranteed, the first night arriving late and tired we were lucky to get the last space, TV did not work, normally this wouldn't concern me but Liverpool were playing United, reception sent up someone who fixed TV, however the hotel subscribes to only a very limited number of channels and football was not one of them.
Reception told me my payment had been refused for insufficient funds, this had me really worried until i checked my records and found i had paid Hotels.com three weeks previous, the hotels issue was with Hotels.com, annoyed they a. Misinformed me. And b. Tried to get me involved. There are lots of hotels in Sibiu, i can't recommend this one

The hotel is located within walking distance of the old town.

The restaurant is on the top floor and has a nice town view. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a reservation for the dinner as they had a private function, they blocked the restaurant for the guests. I think that is not fair.

Don’t bank on using the spa

Generally a great hotel and I was very grateful to the man who helped me get a taxi at short notice to fit my snowboard, but I was very disappointed to learn the spa isn’t available at all times and you have to book in advance and pay to use it. This was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, and it seems stingy to have to pay again for something that’s already part of the hotel. I also had to pay for bottled water, which usually you get complimentary. The quality of food at breakfast wasn’t great. I did arrive towards the end of the session but still, the food wasn’t too fresh.

This is a fine hotel and I would stay here again. The only negative I experienced was at their restaurant. The hotel obviously takes in groups and all up it took 1¼ hours to get my main course.
Service at the hotel was efficient and friendly. Reception was especially helpful. There is a Green Bus bus stop right opposite the hotel.

Double booking that never existed

When I checked in I was told by the hotel that I have two bookings on my name for the same stay. We agreed that since payment was made for two rooms I will stay the next night.
I changed my planes accordingly but on the next evening they told me there was a mistake and I DO have to pay for the second night.
Obviously at that time of the day I couldn't travel, and had to pay them for that stay

Given the conditions imposed by the pandemic, this was a nice stay. Breakfast is fresh, and served in the restaurant (bring your mask!). Staff speaks English and Italian from what I personally witnessed.
Room service is reduced; ask for supplies in advance.
Parking is on the street; a bit frustrating but usually relatively close by if multiple cars are parked.
Location: within a walking approx 1 mile from downtown at Piata Mare and Piata Mica entrance from the walls of the fortress.
Warm water and non-smoking rooms are available. Foreign TV channels appreciated. AC/ heat to customize.
Three (3) elevators.
My only recommendation is for the management to instal hand rails and lighting on the stairs for those who would like to use them; in case of emergency they can also prevent falls.
I plan to return here. My room was an executive size.

Hotel is okay. Cracked bathroom sink, shower flooded outside of stall, awkward seating furniture, but always very clean. My partner and I have stayed here a few times for business and pleasure, and the male host is constantly sour and unhelpful. The hostesses are pleasant. Breakfast was cold, but okay. I’ll stay again, but only when on sale.

The hotel was really nice. The room was great. Breakfast was impressive, so many delicious options. We where so glad to find a room that weekend. The only issue was when we came in to check in the person at the front desk seemed annoyed that I already booked my room thru Travelocity. But thru the check in process he changed his tune and became pleasant.

The town surronding the hotel is absolutely amazing. However, the stay at the hotel was not. The room we received seemed clean however the bathroom had not been cleaned, and there was black mold in the shower. When we went to the front desk to express some concern and brought up how even the room we booked did not match the room we received the man working the desk was extremely rude and confrontational with us. We simply stated our concerns and the front desk attendant essentially told us there was nothing for him to do and we were complaining for no reason. Save your money, book somewhere else.

Breakfast on the 11th Floor was Stunning

I was hesitant to book a contemporary high rise hotel in Sibiu but this hotel won me over with its classy, contemporary design and fun art work. We loved starting each day at the great breakfast buffet on the 11th floor overlooking Sibiu and the distant mountains...stunning. It was a very convenient walk to the old city.

stayed two nights ,very clean and good service . Check in a little slow as it was only one person doing it . Good breakfast but not a lot of variety in chooses . Parking is only issue that I find with this hotel , you can park on hotel side as these spots are reserved and doorman said he watches those cars all night but if you come late you got to park across in the residential area

Bad!! VERY unfriendly staff except the bellboy and the Bartender. When I checked in the room there was garbage in the bathroom wastebasket from previous guest. The staff at Breakfast was very unwelcoming & dismissive. Breakfast was mediocre but worst was the staff's attitude. The coffee was luke warm, the couple at the table next to me mentioned to the waitress and she insisted that it was Hot (didn't look like she had drank any herself)! The 2nd day her attitude was so bad I had a pastry and left! In all my travels I have never felt so I welcomed at a hotel! The only good thing about the hotel is the room!

Though not smack in the center, highly recommended

Excellent hotel - on all accounts! Super comfortable beds, great service, gorgeous views of surroundings from the restaurant located on the top floor where a hearty and delicious buffet style breakfast is served. Only drawback is that it's not located in or right next to the pedestrian zone in the old town - about a 5 min cab ride away. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend this hotel!

First up I need to praise the superbly efficient receptionist. She managed a queue of demanding customers and a constantly ringing phone, on her own, all with a smile and a positive attitude. If I owned a hotel I'd be giving her a job!
Hotel itself is a stylish and modern business type. Plenty free parking on the street nearby. Close to the town centre.
I was leaving before breakfast so was given a pack of sandwiches, fruit and yogurt which was enough for lunch too. All hotels should offer this alternative.

A great value in a beautiful city

I picked the hotel for its proximity to the University I had to visit. I couldn't have been more surprised at how good a hotel it is. The lobby is small but stylish. The service was friendly and helpful. One of the guest elevators is all glass allowing you to see the Piata Mare as you go up and down. The decor is contemporary and rooms, though a bit on the small side, certainly very comfortable. The free wifi was fast and reliable. Bathrooms were a bit small, but the shower was roomy enough. Free breakfast was in the bright and airy restaurant on the 8th floor with views of Sibiu. The only negative might be its location for tourists. It is a bit of complicated walk to Piata Mare and the town center, but not a particularly long one. In terms of value, I can't imagine beating this hotel.

The Golden Tulip was a great hotel. Very modern style with a great staff. Only about a 10 minute walk to the main town square. Our room was very clean and hotel seemed very quiet. No problems with our hotel and our air conditioning worked great in the summer heat. Our friend's had electricity/air conditioning problems with their hotel that was closer to to the town square. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel to my friends.

My room had a mountain view, they all do. The only very slight negative was a lack of in room safe. The breakfast buffet was well presented and had plenty of hot and cold options. Dinners in the 585 Restaurant was very good. The lamb chops were a bit overdone but everything else was excellent.

We only stayed here for an overnigt stay before our final destination so the locations was not important for us. It was a very nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood but the Resturant was not good having in mind it is a 4 star hotel. It had a perfect view from the top floor but no service and we ordered a T-bone steak but the tenderloin was cut off !! Don't think we will stay here again.

Have stayed in 3 other hotels in Sibiu and this is the best so far. It was clean, quiet, very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Liked the 11th floor restaurant particularly - great view of the Transfagarashan Mountains and the city.

Der Aufenthalt im Golden Tulip Ana Tower Sibiu war leider eine Enttäuschung. Obwohl die Rezeption freundlich und das Frühstück im 11. Stock mit schöner Aussicht ein Pluspunkt war, entspricht das Zimmer in keiner Weise dem Standard eines 4-Sterne-Hotels.

Die Sauberkeit ist mangelhaft – es wird nur oberflächlich gereinigt. Bei näherem Hinsehen findet man Staub, Haare im Bett, Flecken auf den Decken, und Kalk im Badezimmer sowie stark verschmutzte Lüftungsgitter. Solche Zustände sind inakzeptabel und wirken unhygienisch.

Das Hotel ist sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen und ohne eine deutliche Verbesserung im Housekeeping und in der Instandhaltung ist der 4-Sterne-Status nicht gerechtfertigt.

Fazit: Freundliches Personal reicht nicht aus, wenn die grundlegende Sauberkeit und Hygiene im Zimmer so gravierend vernachlässigt werden. Ich kann dieses Hotel in der jetzigen Form nicht empfehlen.“
