Room wasn't bad, and the price was great! Staff was very nice and very helpful. Parking was a bit rough. It is side slotted, and the parking is extremely tight between the 2 buildings. It is one way in, one way out, no backing in. If a lot of large trucks are parked, such as was my experience, the narrow driveway behind them becomes a situation where you have to reverse out into the road where you pulled in from. I have a tiny car. So there's that.

Clean bedding. Hot shower. Room was cool. Enough space in room to spread luggage. Parking right outside hotel door. It is 20 miles away from Painted Desert/ Petrified Forest. Go in one park, come out the other. Brad’s Desert Inn a relic of Route 66 if one wants to do this National Park and this Americana.

Check-in was just fine- no issues - very polite young man.
The train noise was no big deal for us.
The only real issue we have is that within minutes of putting our dog's feeding bowl down on the floor it was overtaken by ants - a ton of ants!
If you're traveling without a pet, this property is just fine but when traveling with a pet it's not a good idea.

I have to say, I was really disappointed with this property. I was trying to go outside of the big hotel chains, and in the photos, Brad's looked really cute. But the exterior is shabby (asphalt falling apart, the whole thing needs to be repainted, overflowing trash cans visible, etc). And the interior looks cute but is not in great shape. (The shower has a major drip that went all night.). The internet was really slow. And there is a major and very busy train line right behind the property, which didn't really bother me but might bother some people. Other reviewers said there was breakfast here with a cute little breakfast room; on my visit, though, no breakfast room, no breakfast. So not sure what was going on with that. I think this place could be really cute, but its not there yet, and as a solo woman traveler, I wasn't super comfortable with it.

I stayed at Brad’s Desert Inn for one night and it was a lovely experience. The property has that classic Route 66 charm but everything felt well cared for and maintained. We didn’t get a chance to meet the staff since it was a no contact check-in, but the instructions we received were easy to follow.
Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location is great as well, with easy access to restaurants, gas stations and cafes.
I’d happily stay here again!

Brad's is a vintage Route 66 type drive in motor hotel. It has been refurbished with some very nice interior work (I had a rustic wood cabin wall as my headboard). Staff and management were extremely personable and I enjoyed interacting with them as much as I did staying in this old school motel.

The motel is directly attached to a freight train track frequented by screaming train whistle full speed passings many times an hour and through the night. Do not stay here if that is disturbing to you. It sure ruined our stay. The rooms are clean and cute but ridiculously tiny and slipshod. In front is a busy two lane highway frequented by trucks and macho motorcycles too, as if the train wasn’t enough.

Brad's Desert Inn is what I imagine to be the most authentic of the Route 66 motels from the heyday of auto travel. The motel is adorned with old signage and decor which makes for a little added fun. The room was cozy, bed comfortable and the price was affordable. However... if you are a light sleeper, this is NOT the place for you. You are literally a block away from a very active railroad and you can expect to hear horns all hours of the night which didn't bother me but made for a restless night for my wife. Other than than, all good vibes!

I wish I could give this hotel a decent review.

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. It is a s—thole. i was under the impression from previous reviews that it was quaint and reminiscent of a vintage Route 66 motel.

It was dilapidated and unsafe. The door has a 1/4 inch gap on the bottom and a 1 inch hole (that would clearly allow rodents to enter the room). It was drafty, cold and the AC/Heat unit cycled on and off all night.

The bed was fairly comfortable. Pillows terrible. The train goes by at least twice an hour and the tracks are 50 feet away.

The hot water from the sink was dark rust in color when first turned on which caused me to question wherther it was sanitary.

First of all, the property is very clean. The staff is nice helpful. The price is reasonable. The area is next to the train tracks, this seems to be the norm for most Northern Arizona towns! Not a big deal to me, but might be for some. The AC/Heat is a window unit and it did a remarkably good job. The area around the bed was comfortable as well.

Tiny parking lot, couldn't imagine parking full size truck. Small room, bathroom. Toilet faces sink with about 8\" between them, knee bumps vanity. Train tracks run about a hundred yards behind, with an average of 3 or 4 trains an hour.
On the good side, check in was quick. Manager was friendly.
Price wasn't terrible, around 100$, but after seeing the pics online, had higher expectations.

Pretty disappointing stay. Turned up right on 3pm to find the office closed and no one about, so I just wandered around until the clerk showed up with his little dog who wouldn't stop barking at me (and even tried to nip me). The carpark needs to be completely resurfaced with the parks redrawn - they're all over the place. The room was fine but felt small & cluttered, and the floor was badly warped. The train was loud, but nowhere near as bad as Mountain Home ID, so at least I could sleep. Best thing about the place was the classic Dr Who channel.

I liked the look and feel of the property. It had a lot of route 66 themes and such including the ac temp being set at 66 which was a little funny. My only complaint is that they could maybe use some better pillows and some better curtains for blocking sunlight. Other than that it's a good place to sleep than hit the road again early morning

I was catfished! This place was nasty! Mouse traps under sinks. I even saw a cockroach on the wall. We left shortly after checking in and never came back! We enjoy visiting little known places like this. The clerk was busy playing video games and took forever coming out to help, even his dog was barking at me and he didn't come out

The floors are uneven and that made me a bit dizzy. That is something that they can't do anything about. They claim to be sparkling clean but the bathroom fixture was grubby, as was the wall around the light switch. Also their outside sign has half the lights out and that does not make a good impression.

If you are looking for luxury this is not the place. But if you are passing through and just need a place to lay your head and grab a shower in the morning before you take off this place will do. This place is very old but it functions. It looked clean, bed was comfortable. Microwave, fridge were new-ish. AC and the shower worked - (water was hot, good pressure.)
People were very nice.
The only real concern was the train tracks right next door. The train woke me up in the middle of the night briefly.
I stayed here because it was the cheapest place I could find. It did the job for the price.

It is not as bright and cute as the pictures. Still, there is a terrific Mexican restaurant within walking distance and if you like trains, you get to hear a lot of them very close by

It's an old Route 66 motel, don't expect some modern facility with large rooms. It's small. And I don't want to hold it against the facility, but there is a train track right behind it, and trains went by all night every 30 minutes or so, if you are a light sleeper consider ear plugs or you won't get much sleep.

The hotel was very cute and the beds were comfortable, but the bathroom could really use a new sink with a counter or some sort of table or somewhere to put toiletries. We had to move the towels off the shelf and use that, as there was absolutely no room on the sink area. The trains were noisy, but I've lived near trains most of my life, so they weren't a problem, but I could see them being a huge issue for some people.

Unique Comfortable Stay Near Petrified Forest.

I would give this place 5 ⭐️ for a motel. Obviously this is not an all inclusive five star resort but for a motel it’s in the top, as I’ve stayed at a variety of resorts/hotels/motels to provide a true honest rating. Customer service far exceeded my expectations from BEGINNING of my check in till the end. The property contacted me prior to ask what time I was checking in and my reservation change on hotels.com didn’t update properly to postpone a day and they were happy to change it. Easy communication with text message, and offering a call back number if necessary. Property kept clear and polite communication with me throughout my day and I was going to be checking in very late (after 2 A.M.). I was given instructions for a lock box my key would be in and a contact and number if I had any issues. Property vibe is unique and corkey, unlike any other property I passed by in the town of Holbrook. Came into a super comfortable and clean, original decorative room, with the heat turned on (it was cold outside), microwave and fridge, and a shower with great water pressure and temperature. Ended my night with a comfortable bed. Extra perks of this motel is that they have Netflix available as well as it’s super close to Petrified Forest 🪲🌳

The motel itself looked okay. However, the surrounding area was extremely run down and did not feel safe - many obviously closed motels & other businesses. The office was closed at 5pm, so I could not check in. There was a note with a phone number, but nobody answered. I booked a room in the next town, Winslow, and left.

A little lost in time

This hotel is from the 60's-70's era and not much has changed. First the bed was somewhat comfy, the pillows needed to be thrown away and replaced by new ones, they had an old odor to them.There was no dresser for clothes,a shelf or two and a few hooks would have worked, if there had been any. The towels were a bit stiff.I would not stay here again.

Had Roku but you had to enter in your own passwords. Make sure they are erased.

It was a good place to stop for one night on my way to Scottsdale but it was very much a motel.
The bedding and pillows were some sort of memory foam and not the most comfortable.
There was a weird 2-inch step between the room and the bathroom.
I was offered earplugs at check in because of the trains that run behind the motel. I didn't need to use them because the air conditioner is so loud that I didn't even hear the trains until I was getting ready to check out.

An okay stop for a one night stay. Room was comfortable but the bathroom was dated and the toilet wasn’t screwed in properly so moved every time it was sat on. The hotel is also right next to the train tracks and the trains run fairly frequently through the night, which had I realised this I’d have booked somewhere else as it woke us up quite a few times.

Room had several missing light bulbs and was in overall poor condition. Then there's the trains that ran all night making it impossible to sleep. Not sure how place gets any positive reviews. It's at best a 4 or 5 out off 10 place.

First the good part: The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Now the bad news: Although the motel looks OK from the outside there are some series deficiencies in the rooms. There is a small step leading from the main room into the bathroom that I stubbed my toes on several times. Also, there was no way to open the bathroom window. Finally, this motel is very close to a set of busy train tracks. Be prepared to hear loud train whistles several times a night.

The floors were a tad bit grimy in the room but other than that, everything was very very comfortable. There was a lot of outside noise that couldn't be avoided like the nearby train and nightly fireworks.
