Lovely stay. Room are a bit small, but include sound proofing windows and a fan (if needed). Plus, guests are allowed to use the downstairs ‘lounge’ area when it’s not breakfast time. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Property is very close to the train and city center.

We stayed at the Apple House for 2 nights and had the best stay. The hosts Daniell & Taquin are very friendly and helpful with everything. The breakfast was freshly prepared and also had fruits and cereal bar as well. We had to order breakfast a day before and our table number was our room number. The rooms had coffee/tea facilities, snacks and toiletries and were replaced everyday. We got takeaway for dinner and were provided with plates and cutlery and allowed to use microwave and eat in dining hall. We just felt we were at our friends place and definitely will return again. Best stay ever.

EVERYTHING STOOD OUT!!! Comfortable, cute, lots of room and Danielle and Tarquin were beyond WONDERFUL! I had a bit if a turnaround at the train station coming in ( opposite direction) so, I was a tiny bit apprehensive ( believe me - its actually very easy walk to and from train station) going back. Tarquin walked with me ( and carried my bag) part of the way . In this day and age - you will absolutely not find kinder nor more considerate hosts such as Danielle and Tarquin!!! The guest house has MASSIVE charm as well!!! I recommend them and the great establishment they run HIGHLY! When choosing a B&B in York - look no farther. Many,many thanks to them both! Also, the story regarding how the Apple came to \" be\" is wonderful as well!!!!

Apple house is a delightful place to stay while at York. Staff are nice and approachable. Breakfast has a number of choices with good portions. Free parking is the biggest perk staying with them. We don't mind the 10mins walk to the city. Definitely staying here again if we visit York in the future.

This was an ideal venue for me for a four day trip. It was so refreshing to stay in a place with a bit of personality after some of the soul-less uniformity that we are more often offered. The owners are attentive but not intrusive. Lovely breakfast. It is located near the train station, so you can hear trains, but I don't mind this. Well located for buses etc but distances to most things of interest are walkable.

I had a fantastic stay at The Apple House. The hosts and staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful with anything I needed. In particular, as I have celiac disease, it can sometimes be hard finding places willing or able to accommodate for a gluten-free diet. Not so with The Apple House folks, who made sure to make me a wonderful gluten-free breakfast each morning which was delicious, filling and didn’t leave me with any problems later on. Additionally, the property itself is lovely and comfortable and was very walkable for me to both the train station and town. I would absolutely stay here again whenever I might find myself back in York.

First thing, the most charming owner of the guest house greets you upon arrival and gives you the biggest of smiles. We were show to our room with a very comfortable bed and a nice shower. And even though the weather was hot, ac and a fan were really good to cool us down.
Location is just 5min walk out of the city centre but it’s well connected to buses and the train station.

What a lovely little guest house within walking distance to York city centre. Danielle was a lovely host who made sure everything was in order for us. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the fact that parking is included makes this place good value for money. The only thing worth noting is that the loft room is up 3 sets of stairs (the last one being a little steep) so bear that in mind if you have luggage or if you plan on doing the climb up the York Cathedral Tower tour (like we did!)

This was our first stay at The Apple House but been to York before. The Apple House seems to be this family's labour of love. It has a very homely feel and we were welcomed so friendly and informative. We were unfortunate to have selected the loft in a heatwave, however we had an air cooling unit, fan and velux window so we coped just fine.
It was like a little self contained apartment. Ideal for our stay.
The only negatives if you want to be extremely picky, were that the carpet had a small tear, not dangerous. The bathroom wall had a small gap in line with the rafters, you couldnt see through unless you put your face up to it but you could hear. I think although a provision was in place the shower tray may need replacing at some point. The last flight of stairs had small treads, fine for us but with big bags or mobility issues it wouldnt be so good. None of this affected our stay.
The location was great, about 10 minutes walk to the station and York Gate to be able to walk the wall. It took no more than 20 minutes walk to the city centre.
We had a very well cooked full English breakfast tailored to exactly what we wanted plus yogurts, cereals, fruit, honestly the spread of food was amazing, welcoming and made you feel at home.

My family (of four) had a lovely stay here. We had a family room, which was a double room with an adjoining room with bunk beds for our children. Very clean room and comfortable beds. Breakfast was wonderful, lots of selection and perfectly cooked breakfast. Welcoming and kind hosts. Walkable distance into the centre of York. Short cut through to the train station was very handy.

We had a comfortable stay at this property for 4 nights. The location is quite convenient and walkable from the railway station. There are several fast food joints in walkable distance. The owners and staff were welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was reasonably good with a decent spread. While we noticed that most of the rooms were quite well maintained, the furnishings in the family room where we stayed were slightly old and run down, so taking one star off the overall rating. At the same time, the bedding and towels provided were very clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to stay.

I found the Hotel easily from the Railway Station after a short walk. I found everything about the place lovely! Lovely room with all you need available, lovely comfortable bed and a lovely Breakfast with everything you could to need! Staff lovely and polite.

I've always wanted to stay here but haven’t been able to because its always been full. Having now stayed there, I understand why as this place is excellent. We received a very friendly welcome. The communal areas and room were spotless. The hotel is quiet - it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. Bed comfortable, bedding clean, bathroom spotless. Tea, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, and kettle in the room. Central heating worked well and the room was cosy. Good pressure from the shower. Breakfast was appealing and tasty.
