parking is difficult - the hotel do have limited parking but at a cost. No anti-slip mat for bath/shower - quite dangerous. Room had no a/c & no coffee making.
Reasonable bedroom & bathroom - Lots of eateries nearby, decent breakfast, friendly reception staff.

Although very clean & tidy, we had a poor check in experience as there was a problem with the check which the receptionist thought was incomplete, despite my paper copy which indicated otherwise.
It was sorted in the end & we got rooms for the night but it wasn't handled well.

What an amazing experience staying at The Windsor. The room was splendid with a superb view and it was spacious and clean. The receptionist was so cordial and welcoming. Staff was helpful and friendly, one would definitely want to come back to stay here. They made the hotel an essential part of our staycation.

Clean, welcoming and panoramic

Welcoming smaller-scale hotel with the atmosphere of the French hotels I remember from childhood. Very clean room with comfortable bed, wonderful view from the breakfast room and good breakfast to send us on our way.
Would have welcomed a tray with kettle, cups etc. although you can collect one free hot drink per person from the machine in the hotel reception area.

Everything was lovely. Nice little hotel in a great location. The staff were really friendly and the quickest check in i have ever experienced! The room was great and spotlessly clean with a big comfy bed! I would stay there again without a shadow of a doubt and highly recommend it.

Excellent location on the sea front with the harbour just one road behind. Parking can be difficult to find when it's busy but it's easy enough to drive round in a circle waiting for someone to leave. Good balcony with sea view and reasonably priced. Would recommend this location and this hotel.

The hotel is Old and overpriced. Small rooms, little comfort. I payed 125€, - 25 extra for a sea view and got a room on the second floor between the balcony from the 3rd foor and the flat roof of the restaurant. You can't even see anything from your bed threw the small window. A discrase the charge extra for that. The staff on the other hand is friendly. Renovate or drop your prices!

Excellent position. We had an issue on arrival as we had specifically requested a room with a bath and we were told that we would have to pay an extra 10 euros a night to get a bath. We challenged this and eventually were given what we asked for. However the bath situation was not really satisfactory as there was never sufficient hot water for a decent bath.

Parked outside the hotel , parking in immediate area very busy .
At reception were given our key and although the woman on reception smiled a lot she never asked if we wanted breakfast or if we needed a restaurant reservation at hotel . She simply told us where the lift was , no information or map given of area .
Room was small , sea view but looking onto flat roof of restaurant below .
1 sachet of coffee and tea each , no milk .
Shower room was adequate.
Expensive at 135 Euro but it was in August and had sea view and ideal for where we wanted to be

Check in was good. The front desk staff spoke good English. Parking was a nightmare - took us at least 45 minutes to find somewhere to park. The room was very small and had no air conditioning. The hair blow dryer was also very strange. We didn't eat at the restaurant but instead went to the marina area. This seemed more like a frat/party hotel than what we were expecting. The girl at the front desk told me I over paid and recommended calling the hotel directly for better rates than going through a booking company

Great location by the beach and next to English and Irish bars so fiancé could watch the rugby. Dieppe was a bit closed up in February so we went to Rouen which is gorgeous.

Cons- No milk with tea and coffee and only one set of miniature soaps over the weekend. Breakfast is over priced.

Pros- Great big bed though and they had CNN and sky sports.

Lovely family run hotel

We had a sea view and were upgraded to a suite. Lovely room, great bathroom but most of all a lovely family run hotel. We were there with a group of cyclists and were made to feel so welcome.

The staff were all wonderful, friendly and helpful, Generally couldn't do enough for us on a weekend post Brexit when we were embarrassed to be British!

We ate in the restaurant with a group of 100 or more cyclists. The food was absolutely superb, better than the food served at reasonably posh weddings in England. Really lovely food, well cooked, hot and delicious.

We will definitely stay again, Hotel Windsor will always be our first choice in Dieppe.

I paid extra for a sea view, which was good, but the room was very small. The bed was comfortable and the en suite was nice, although the hair drier got very hot to hold.There was a safe, which is always a bonus, and a kettle, which is not always the case in French hotels. Breakfast was extra and was adequate. The hotel doesn't look the best from outside but is mostly ok inside. The Hotel de la plage a couple of doors away looks really nice. Dieppe itself is very run down in places. The castle is worth a visit as there are some wonderful paintings and carved Ivory .

We got a cheap Internet deal and were in the cheaper rooms at the back of the hotel. The drawers didn't fit in the chest properly and the window frame was rotten. BUT BUT BUT the staff were super friendly, the beds are comfortable and the water was hot. We could store our bikes in the courtyard. The restaurant was good at night. There were odd quirks like the statue of the black bellboy (whose arms had fallen off at some point in the past) & some plastic grass and flowers in a 'dead space' at the bottom of the stairs.

Glorious weather and dining!

The hotel was actually only a 2 star, and the room reflected this; but the restaurant was in our opinion, 4 star and very reasonably priced. We had a 3 course meal including 50cl carafe of wine for only £43 equivalent for two people. The price, quality and view of the promenade whilst we dined was fantastic.
We hadn't realised as we have not been to Dieppe for many, many years, that the hotel was less than 100 metres from the high street, so that was another bonus.
All in all, whilst the room wasn't the greatest, the restaurant and location means we would certainly use the hotel again.
N.b. Parking can be difficult but you will eventually be able to find a bay where you do not need to pay!

Only fault we found was, no air con or fans available, which led to a very hot & uncomfortable night ... if we opened the window it was too noisy.... so we will stay again but take our own fan !!!

One night away in Dieppe

We came to Dieppe for a one night break from Newhaven. The hotel is a short walk from the drop off point (at the tourist info stop) from the bus from the ferry. Very welcoming and good English spoken by staff at reception. Clean, small, quiet room with very comfy beds and good bathroom.
Very nice breakfast in restaurant overlooking sea.
We were able to leave our bags in a secure room for the day and pick them up just before ferry home which was a great bonus as we didn't have to carry them around all day.

Spent two nights here. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, although a bit pricey (11.50 euros for buffet), the room and hotel were both clean and well kept. The only slightly negative was that with 2 travellers in a small room, well there wasn't much room once the suitcases were in. Other than that, we had a room overlooking the ocean, which was nice to wake up to.

I have stayed in dozens of hotels before, and I have to say that this was the worst experience I have every had. We arrived in Dieppe at 22:30hrs on the ferry and booked in at around 23:00hrs. The man in the front desk was courteous and frendly, and the check-in was swift. The problems started in the room. Whilst the beds were comfortable and the room was clean, we were very disappointed with 1) Noisy room, traffic and seagulls 2) broken shower head - you had to hold the shower with one hand otherwise it flopped downwards and washed the wall tiles 3) kettle out of the 1970s that had no auto shutoff, so having hit boil before jumping into the shower, i realised it was still on a rolling boil and would not shut off - my six year old child was in the room and was scared by it. 4) No milk supplied - just three tea bags and three coffee sachets 5) No proper cups or mugs, but three thin plastic thimble type things with a flimsy handle 6) Loo paper that was so thin it was pointless using any. Save to say, the three of us left without a decent comfortable relaxing shower, and without a morning brew. We did not stay for breakfast, but instead found a local cafe instead. Not the welcome to France we had hoped for. Whilst we had only used the hotel as an overnight stop on a way to the Loire, we would certainly not be booking this hotel again for our return journey to France next year.

We were sad that we had only booked one night here before catching the 0630 ferry the following morning, so we didn't get an opportunity to sample their breakfast. I had requested (and paid a little extra for) a sea view, and that we had, with large sliding glass doors onto a balcony, with views over the green to the sea. Because of unexpected traffic driving through Rouen, we arrived quite late and the carpark in front of the hotel was full. However, the front reception staff were very friendly and obliging, took the car key and parked it themselves. It was good to have only a 5 minute drive to the ferry terminal at the ungodly hour of 5am the next day.

We've often stayed at the Windsor over the years and always found it an agreeable place to stay. Plus you can park in the driveway (if there's a space!).It's very central to shops, restaurants and the sea. In fact the restaurant has a grand panorama of the channel. Friendly staff. Breakfast good and has a wide selection but a bit pricy.

Did not seem take any notice of my booking details at reception, given keys to very small twin room, had to return to reception as booking details confirm double room with room No but told there was a booking mistake but finally given a double room which was in need of renovating, it was cold but the heating did not work, there was a gale force wind & the windows shook so much we were kept awake through the night. For a 3 star hotel it was very disapointing although the lobby & reception area looked pretty new & modern I would be hard pressed to give it two stars. This was by no way the cheapest hotel in the area, I went by the description which to me appeared to be a good choice and I ended up feeling very let down. The only thing I can say in it's favour is that it was clean and the location was good.

The Hotel was a little tired outside bit spotless inside.
No bar for the evening and the restaurant was a little dated but very nice.
The room I had was on the 2nd floor at the back, the kitchen was under me on the first floor and was very noisy in the evening.
The noise would stop about 23.30.
Overall nice hotel but could do with an update.

The fact that this didn't impress or disappoint says a lot. Little things like tea making facilities (hey, for France that's a big thing) and allowing us to park in the front yard for free. The room was reasonably sized, the bathroom bigger than we wee used to and the overall cleanliness were all positives. The location is good being about 200 meters from the main street. Can't comment on the catering as we ate out for all meals. Overall, I'd stay here again.

Face à la mer

Hôtel très bien situé en front de mer mais un peu vétuste tout de même. L’insonorisation des chambres n’est pas très bonne. Petit déjeuner correct. Possibilité de parking gratuit dans la cour devant l’hôtel en fonction des disponibilités sinon sur le boulevard de Verdun. Une mention particulière pour le personnel très sympathique.
