On arrival I said that I was with a group of 10 and we’d like to eat at about 8.30 or so and was told this would be no problem as the kitchen closed at 9. When we came back we were told the kitchen had closed early, which was annoying when I had specifically asked. The other thing which led me to score lower was the availability of breakfast, only from 7.30 - 8.30, which is too restrictive when you want to relax at a hotel, so I don’t know if the breakfast was nice or not as I didn’t make it down in time. The room was lovely and very comfy.

Great stay, great food & entertainment

I stayed in room 8 for one night, clean room very comfy large bed amazing shower (water pressure was superb).
We stayed on a Thursday night and they had live music on for an hour & then karaoke in the bar & restaurant 👍. The food was excellent there was a large selection of Indian food & some traditional dishes ( I had the chicken schnitzel with sauted potatoes & broccoli…v good. I’d also like to mention Sydney the extremely hard working barmaid, she never stopped all night 👏👏👏

Comfortable bed. Nice bed linen and towels and good bathroom. But access to the room was shabby and all carpets looked the worse for wear. Parking was limited and we had to leave our car on the road on Saturday night. Some staff were lovely others less so.

I liked the staff, the in-house food and drink.
This is a working pub so it's noisy at night time when the staff are tidying up downstairs and constantly in and out the doors. 10.30pm until 24.00 was nosiy enough to keep me awake and stop me falling asleep.

Room was lovely but tight stair to get upstairs and managed to fall with luggage when leaving.. carpet thread bare on stairs. Breakfast and breakfast staff member excellent. Main downfall for me was bedroom was above extremely noisy pub with loud music till midnight. I had gone to bed as shattered from driving but no chance of sleep.

Not much wrong, but please fix the door

Welcome was good and check in was quick. We were shown to our room which was a little smaller than i expected, but it was functional. Bathroom was large. Breakfast on day 1 was an issue as the single person on shift seemed to be cooking and serving, but could not get the gas to light which had clearly flustered her. To be fair she made the best of a bad job. The only real problem i had was the entry door to the hotel area which slammed closed every time it was used. Our room rattled like the set of Crossroads at 6am, which i assume was when staff were arriving for work. Get this fixed and it would have been 4* across the board

Comfortable bed, cool (but not cold) shower.

Check-in was easy but the hotel couldn't establish if I had pre-paid for breakfast. I offered to pay again on the understanding that I would be refunded if I had pre-paid; for the record my e-mail indicated it was, but their on-screen display indicated it was not.

We had a lovely stay at the Glendevon. The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent shower room and tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was delicious as was the evening meal we had in the bar restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive and we'd definitely stay here again.

Very late check in was no priblem, friendly staff, good overall stay, my only negative feedback was a clump of hair on the carpet and the room was had a cobweb. I think allthough wrong of me to complain, the room cleaning could have had more time spent on it. And finally the front external area was full of weeds. An hour or so could positively change the look of the property. Breakfast great, overall a good stay.

The room was very badic which was fine for what i needed. I booked it because it said Bar and Grill with a great choice of good. However upon arrival i was told they were not serving food so i had to find somewhere else for a takeaway.
The bed was very dated and needed replaced
The shower had black mould in the corners on the seals, which had obviously been there for years so this could have been better.
The shower was a really good one power and heat
The staff were nice and did explain that they were getting a new chef and menu soon so would be better next time i booked.

No chair in bedroom or mirror. Only small mirror in en-suite. Surfaces very dusty. Pillows very poor. Towels and shower excellent. No chef and no food available on premises. Cafes with good food further along the road. Small car park at rear of hotel was full. On street parking along road at front. Tea/ coffee making available in room. Reasonable price for overnight bed but no breakfast. Would try elsewhere next time.

The window of my room overlooked a lane that was the local route home from the pubs and was very noisy at 11.00pm to midnight . It was also where deliveries are made to the Spar shop so was noisy again from 6.30am with a delivery.

Ideal base for Glen Eagles

Came up as had interview at Glen Eagles for couple of days. Odd at check in asking if I had paid for my stay or not through the booking. I had paid and told them so and they were accepting my word. Surely they had record of this. On my trial I worked till 1am but no issues getting into property. Comfortable stay and worth the visit. Good base for the area and golf course and used it visit local area also. Recommend this property for location and value for money.

The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. We stayed in room 2 which has a king and single bed and over looks the main road, no noise disturbance. The en-suite has been recently refurbished, has a great shower but needs shelving. We ate at Jon & Fernandas then returned to the hotel with friends for drinks in the lounge. Great breakfast the following day. We would definitely stay here again.

the maincomplaint was that the entrance door was locked when I tried to go out on the morning of 30.09.
Also, on the night of 30.09 there was NOBODY on site to deal with any problems.
The locked door presented a serious fire escape problem.
I eventually found the fire escape door to get out onto the street. The location of this was not clearly displayed.
I would never again set foot in this hotel and recommend to everyone to avoid it at all costs.
The room was not served, nor waste bed made in 3 nights.
Either a severe audit is required immediately or it should be closed down pending inquiry.

Woke up went for breakfast and the hotel was all locked up. We had to come out the fire exit. No sign of life so no breakfast. We had told them 9 o’clock as they didn’t want to get up too early on a Sunday. But obviously slept in. 😡

Disgusting old mans pub, with presumably some rooms above it. We didn’t get to see the rooms because when we turned up we were double booked. I have never been so relieved. There is no reception, you have to enter the bar to get your room and it is a run down, old man bar that still smells of cigarettes. Disgusting.

I knew this was a basic hotel as I’ve stayed before, but will not be using this hotel again.
The mattress should have been replaced years ago, I could feel every metal spring in it so did not sleep well.
In the morning I ran the shower for ages with no sign of any hot water.
I had agreed 8.45am for breakfast but when I went down the bar/restaurant area was locked, I phoned and could hear the phone ringing but there was nobody there to answer it, I had to leave out of the fire exit, the place was in darkness. How can a hotel forget they have a guest who wanted, and paid for their breakfast??

The worst hotel I ever stayed in if I’d known I would never have booked it the second night the menu might as well be non existent this went on until Friday when they must have replenished the larder for the weekend Friday morning we went down for breakfast we found all the doors to enter the hotel bar and restaurant locked we rang reception for a good ten minutes no reply there was nobody on the premises we eventually found a way out through the beer garden this also happened on saturday morning the bed was not made on the first and third night the towels were not changed every day the cups were not washed on several occasions I would not recommend this hotel ro my worst enemy

This place should not be allowed to trade. The rooms are a shambles and dirty. The hotel had no towels for our room took 24hrs before we got them. Toilet was hanging off wall. Shower was dirty and falling apart. The wash hand basin had faulty taps which soaked you when you turned them on. The bed was poor quality and was smelling. The curtains where at different lengths

Good spot as it's on the high street & next to a convience shop .
The downside is it's a pub & a venue for parties & weddings which causes a lot of noise . I was near the back stairs which needed a clean & smelt of smoke, but saying that the staff made up for there friendly attitude & they went out there way to help me

Booked into hotel, but had to collect friends from the Airport, which was delayed to find myself locked out with no way of entering hotel, so had to sepnd first night in my car. Eventually left one night early, so overall a bad experience and will not recommend this hotel or stay there again

Good value for the price.

The weather was hot, especially for Scotland, and the hotel did not have AC. It didn’t cool down enough to sleep until after midnight, with the windows wide opened. I was one floor up on the road, which had a lot of traffic noise until after midnight. The bar was below in the back but the noise from the bar wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately, the smoking area was outside just below my window so I smelled cigarette smoke and heard chatter until the bar close after midnight. Also, I haven’t slept in a twin bed in a long time, so at 6’4” it was a little tight, but I did get a good nights sleep. I also haven’t use a hand-held shower in a long time, but it work well. The full English breakfast was really fantastic.

I ended up not staying at this hotel. I had car trouble so couldn’t get back to auchterarder from Perth but I was on my way back to hand in the key. When the lady showed me to the family room when I checked in she said ‘if you use the shower out the hot water tap on too - if you don’t the shower will either be freezing or scalding’. After leaving the hotel after checking in I mulled it over and thought I’m not paying £115 to stay in a room with a shower that might scald my kids. Couldn’t get my money back but I do feel this is not.m a 3 star hotel. Needs investment. Sorry.

Plain pub first impression, but rooms very clean and comfortable and isolated from the bar hubbub. An en suite bath in such an economic hotel was a special delight. Staff friendly and helpful. A nice breakfast with haggis and quality sausages made with actual meat for a change!

A 'pub hotel' with rooms upstairs.

Greeted by the bar staff at 9.00pm at night, who were very friendly and most accommodating. Shown to my room via back stairs - a bit gloomy and worn carpet, but single room was clean, tidy with ensuite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities, including the ubiquitous highland shortcake.
Bed was a single with a duvet that was quite frankly too small for the bed, but comfortable none the less.
Attempting to have a shower in the morning was difficult. Obviously an air lock somewhere as I had to have the hot tap turned on in the basin in order to get hot water to the shower, but hey, an experience!
Staff bent over backwards at breakfast and I had two of the best breakfasts ever!!
All in all, a pleasant experience.

Friendly and helpful staff: ladies managing bar & kitchen and David, the manager. The only thing should be fixed is shower in the bathroom (room #1 with twin beds) - really problem to take a shower. Please fix it - we will come back next shooting season :)

Very dated needs refurbished bathroom mouldy carpets a disgrace very noisy till after 12.30 will never return ever try anywhere but this place . Our first room the bathroom had tiles missing and a hand held hair spray for a shower dark energy bulbs so we asked to move to another room it was just as bad but no time to ask for refund we were now late for a wedding. Photos on site we’re nothing like what we had .horrible .

Lovely friendly hotel with amazing service ....breakfasts to die for.
Rooms a little old but so is the building but the rooms were clean and that's the main thing.
Don,t expect a lie in as it's on a Main Street with deliveries quite early .... okay very early.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would visit again for the friendliness service and breakfast.

Old fashioned hotel with ditto friendly service

Staff made my week at Glendevon a great experience. They are locals with detailed local knowledge, and generous with it. The food is better than average pub food, and well cooked and presented. Try the sea bass. Also, a good range of blended and single malt whuskies to try.
The decor might be tired, but the locals don't seem to notice because the food and service are good, to say nothing of the Ellen run bar.
Gelendevon is right on the High Street in Auchterarder, and if you are interested in Scotland, it's people and its history, more that the decor, Glendevon is central to exploring Perthshire and across to Oban and Largs on the coast.

We were looking for an inexpensive overnight stay near some relatives; this is an old B+B which had been extended some many years ago including a restaurant bar area.
Not at all luxury accommodation but suitable for a one night stopover at reasonable cost.
The beds were actually quite comfortable using foam mattress!
