Stay it wasn’t pleasure at all.
Electric problem with my room
The bed was cracking like crazy I couldn’t sleep.
Food, it was horrible.
Service it was horrible, I was scared to ask for anything.
I think they should treat the stuff to smile a bit more.
I have visit other Apex Hotels and my experience it wasn’t like this.

Have been regular visitors for years - not so good this time.Bedroom was very cold put on the radiator and discovered it was either full on or off .We met friends for an evening meal they were on a DB&B deal and it caused such confusion at the till .We were paying for everything except two meals surely a simple deal ! A manager type then appeared to sort it out we paid and then he said we hadn’t paid for a glass of red wine accusingly !We were not impressed with his attitude as he never charged for it !We used the card to pay the wine and went to another restaurant the next day

For a start, there was no hot water, the bathroom was cold, the wc far too low, like a childs loo, only enough milk in tray for 2 cups tea and window jammed open so couldnt close it. Breakfast was ok.

Really enjoyed the dinner and the barman went out of his way to make me a cocktail that was not on the drinks menu. But special thanks to the staff who found and then posted my reading glasses to me.
The only downside was that access to the leisure centre is not direct from the hotel building and it was very icy on the day I was there, so I didn’t feel safe in walking the 100 yards or so, and it had been something that I’d really been looking forward to.

Beautiful hotel, facilities were great with gym and indoor heated pool. Breakfast buffet was excellent with great variety of food. The only downside is the family room is quite small in size for 2 adults and 2 kids, we don't have enough space to put open our luggages comfortably and the bathroom sink also quite small we have no space to put our toileteries bags Other than that, we had a great stay!

Smashing Breakfast and Dinner, however. The room we were in was in need of updating. Our friends in another part of the hotel had a really nice room. The hotel has been sold to Apex Hotels and I believe they were about to take over this past week. So hopefully they’ll continue to make improvements to the rooms. My other gripe was about the price of a dash of Lemonade/Coke at the bar….. £2!!!

Unfortunately my stay here dented my confidence in booking DoubleTree hotels as the property was in dire need of renovation. Everywhere was tired, frayed carpets, generally unclean, awful bathroom and the common areas can’t have been properly cleaned in a long time. It’s a shame because the staff were so lovely and friendly, the restaurant food was good (and they catered for an allergy) but this didn’t do enough to offset the poor state of the hotel. Hilton need to throw some money at it. The customers and staff deserve better. Can’t recommend until major maintenance is done.

Double room was fine. Only had one small chair in it and it could have done with a blind. Window looked right on to the car park where workman were and they could see in to the room and any guests using that car park. Not ideal when trying to read and relax on the bed. I had to close the curtains and put lights on in the middle of the afternoon.

The hotel is nice - maybe a little overdue a refurbishment. Our room was nice and quiet.
However, the double bed was 2 singles that had been pushed together but not connected. Neither was there a mattress topper connecting the 2 beds. Consequently, the most comfortable way to sleep was to treat as 2 single beds - one each - with a shared duvet. Otherwise, one of us would sink down the gap which was very uncomfortable.
We complained to the hotel but they said there wasn’t anything they could do because the room was booked via hotels.com

The beds were made and there were fresh towels however, the smell of the rooms was almost intolerable; in fact the first room we were given was intolerable; mildew and sour carpets. The hallways were dirty, doors looked like kids hit them with hockey sticks, paint missing and the hall smelled like a hamster cage. This is the WORST Hilton I have ever stayed at. It was very full, and bar/restaurant staff was very nice but the overall hotel was filthy. The potential for a complete overhaul of this hotel could present Hilton with an outstanding hotel but I would not refer anyone to this Hilton. By far one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. There were several grand rooms but the floors, carpets and smells ruined it. I had a cocktail in a lovely large gathering room but again the smell was so profound, this room like fermented potpourri; overwhelming to the point I had to leave.

The hotel room felt like it was from a cheaper hotel chain. The mattress topper was stained, the view out the room window was of a construction site, the hall carpets were worn and dated. It didn't feel like a Hilton Hotel. I have stayed in cheaper hotels that have felt more expensive and had much better decor. For the price paid for one night didn’t show in the quality of the hotel and extremely below par. Ive been to a few Hilton Hotels and never had any issues and loved the experience, unfortunately i can't say the same about the DoubleTree Dunblane Hydro

The room was in terrible condition — damp and mouldy, with spiders, moths, and webs throughout, and even a rat scratching inside the walls that kept us awake all night.

By morning our clothes smelled strongly of mould, and we checked out immediately as the conditions were completely unacceptable.

On top of this, there was no hair dryer, no kettle, only a single cheap plastic hanger in the closet (making it impossible to hang our coats), a random can of beer left in the drawer, and even a dehumidifier pot full of stagnant water on top of the closet, clearly unchanged for months.

Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had.

Beautiful old building with lots of character. Be aware there are many steps and only one lift, so it’s not very convenient with luggage—you often need to carry your belongings because of the carpets and split levels. The Hotel lobby is very spacious, with plenty of areas to sit and relax. The staff are very nice and clean the rooms every day. I really enjoyed the swimming pool, hot sauna, and steam room, although they close early at 8 pm. Food service also ends at 8:30 pm. The location is quite remote, with no shops or gas stations nearby. Overall, we had a great time here.

As you come up the drive to the hotel, it looks magnificent. Unfortunately it is somewhat tired and in need of updating. Our room was small, with a shower over a bath with a shower curtain, no coffee machine, no bottled water, no fridge, and few sockets. We sat in the lounge in threadbare chairs at a chipped Formica topped table because the bar had TVs showing game shows. There was annoying thumping music everywhere in public areas. The breakfast was an adequate buffet. The facilities were similar to a Premier Inn but twice the price, rather tired and not totally clean.

Looked like significant upgrades were starting with scaffolding around Stirling Wing.

Can walk into town in about 10 minutes and great access to Stirling, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Trossachs within one hour max.

Despite comments about tired facility above, we would go back.

Beautiful old building and great location. Service was mostly good, although the table service at the bar wasn't very attentive. Restaurant and breakfast were excellent. The bedroom was old and quirky - in a good way - mostly. However, the mattress was at the end of it life and very uncomfortable - a double mattress that was a double mattress (normally, a double room has a bigger than UK standard Double bed - but hey-ho!). The shower-over-the-bath was lethal, someone previous had almost pulled the towel rail down, guessing whilst trying to get out the shower/bath.

Dunblane Hydro Stay.

We stayed at the Dunblane Hydro a number of years ago and we noticed a difference this time. The double room had a tray with kettle etc but there was no decaf tea bags (decaf coffee was available). There were no biscuits or bottled water. There were no dressing gowns or slippers.
Perhaps the more expensive rooms would have had these.
The room and bathroom was clean and bed and pillows very comfortable.
The furniture looked a little tired as did some of the carpets in the corridors.
Breakfast was good. Staff were all very nice and helpful.
We would return to this hotel but for a Hilton we expected a little more.

This hotel was in a beautiful location. The staff were friendly and check in was a breeze! I loved the warm chocolate chip cookies we were given upon arrival. The hotel has a lot of halls with short stairs that make hauling suitcases a pain, but it’s an old building so to be expected. We loved the coffee shop in Dunblane…Beech Tree I think was the name. Great location close to Stirling castle and other attractions.

The staff at this hotel could not have been anymore helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. They are very dog friendly and although not allowed in the restaurant which I fully agree with we could take our dog in the lounges. The pool and sauna/steam room were great and very well maintained. We would definitely return here when we are visiting this area again. Great breakfast too!

Overall a let down, expected so much more. Hotel facilities are good, great area, good gym, pool and restaurant (if not a bit pricey for what you’re getting). But it needs investment, a deep clean and some staff training.

Staff overall were friendly and helpful, and room was a good size.

However, hotel really needs a deep clean, while the beds and bathroom were clean, the carpets were filthy, room was dusty, there were stickers on side of bed with dead moths in it (assume it’s to catch them). below what you would have expected from the hotel.

Of the 3 nights we stayed, first day beds were done, but tea/coffee not refilled, no clean cups, and carpets not vacuumed. Phoned twice over 4 hours to get some teabags for the room.

Second day room wasn’t even visited, beds not done, no new towels, no new cups, bins not emptied. Returned to hotel at 4pm. Had to call again

No parking on second day because of a wedding on with inconsiderate drivers (4/5 cars parked over lines). Reg numbers given, was told it would be raised with duty manager. Saw others raising same issue with reception, nothing done about it as far as I could tell.

Good breakfast, although told we had to pay £8 per child even though we were told everyone included when we phoned prior to booking. Duty manager sorted this quickly, no fuss which was good.

Dinner at restaurant was good, pricey but charged for 2 year old despite booking confirmation stating kids under 5 are free with adult meal. Refunded.
