Very pleased with the room, comfy bed, good walk in shower, and lovely balcony with mountain views. As we had had a long day we decided to eat in the hotel in the bar. Service very slow to start, menu was very poor choice. Had to resort to a soup and chowder but both were good. Dessert choice very poor.
Breakfast very good although a little too chaotic for my liking.
Overall a good stay and will return but would eat elsewhere

We chose this hotel because it´s close to National Park and bike rental. We had great experience. Room and bathroom were really big, clean and nice looking, comfortable bed. The hotel is huge with lot of amenities. Breakfast was great and hotel staff is was very nice. 100% would stay again.

Very convenient location to access the Gap of Dunloe, and a good starting point for many of the tier-1 attractions around the Ring of Kerry. Muckross House, and Torc Waterfalls are only 10 minutes away, and ladies view are only about 30 minutes away.

Some nice touches

Room was spacious with a balcony with a good view beyond the car park. 30 minutes walk to town but there is a shuttle bus which is free for the first and last days and 2 euro inbetween. Check in at 4pm is a little late though they do offer luggage storage. Staff worked hard and were pleasant. The breakfast was a little manic. You are asked for a rough estimate of your preferred breakfast time but there tends to be a queue regardless. It was suggested I go to a different part of the hotel on the first morning for breakfast and that place was a little less crowded. The other two days were fine, just not for those who want a peaceful start to the day. It was only on my final day I realised the waiting staff offer teas and coffees. The reception area is pleasant and there are activities and events in other parts of the complex for which admission for guests may be free. The corridors are a bit functional for a relatively expensive hotel; narrow and unadorned. Nice though to have water dispensers and a jug on each floor though the selection of teas is the room was not extensive. Coffee lovers catered for better.

The hotel as usual was beautiful. We had a lovely dinner and the staff were so friendly. The bedroom was clean and a really comfy bed. The only complaint I have was the entertainment wasnt great. There was a very noisy tribute band in the ballroom and nothing in the other bar. Very dissapointing for a Saturday night in July

Beautiful hotel with excellent entertainment! However Bar service was poor. When we checked in we were asked to book our breakfast which was already paid for. We booked the breakfast for 10:30am. When we arrived for breakfast at 10;30 there was a queue of almost 50 people ahead of us. As we had arrangements made for 12 in town we had no choice but to leave. Very disappointing after paying for it. I would assume after the receptionist insisting we make the reservation that we would not have to join the queue.

The Gleneagle is the perfect place to stay for a short break, fantastic entertainment every night which is free for residents, you don't have to leave the hotel and you can have a great time as everything is on site. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food is very good I will certainly be going back.

Booked this hotel with short notice, because of work. I booked b and b. I had to leave early next morning, again because of work. The receptionist told me they could not fit me in for breakfast at that time, so that was that, off to work with no breakie. I though, with the size of the hotel they could fit one more person.

The hotel seemed over priced for the quality of the stay. Most staff seemed rushed. The rooms were mediocre. Toilets didnt flush, shower leaked all over the floor. We were originally given a handicap accessible room. When asked the switch in order to have a shower/bath we were accommodated. For the price paid, i would think twice before booking a stay again
Side note, the food & bar service were extraordinary. We had two great dinners!

The accommodations were fine but the restaurant was lacking. The food was not very good overall and the prices/set meal structure was by far the most expensive we encountered on our 2 week trip. We ate at restaurants in London, Dublin, and Edinburgh and not only was the food much better it was actually more fairly priced. Last, the hotel seemed to be family vs couple focused which is fine if traveling with children. We weren’t but the info may be helpful for other travelers if seeking a couples get away or the reverse.

Brill Stay- DEFINATLEY would book again

After getting dropped off to the hotel, the check in process was easy.
Our room was wonderful and spacious and plenty of pillows and extra bedding.
Room temperature was ideal and love the tea and coffee facilities.
There was entertainment (the reason we booked) and loved both shows that we saw. Shout out to Brendan Shine and Emily!
We did not partake in the evening meal as we ate out BUT the breakfast was delicious - So much choice and cooked breakfast tasty - Try the potato farls. Only downside was the toast being a little cold.

It was disappointing that the girls who competed at AllIrelands weren't allowed to use the pool even though they had showered the evening before to remove the tan and again the following morning.. but seemingly there cannot be a trace of tan on them... Good luck with the guests that you let in the other 51 weeks of the year.. Apparently I was told by a member of senior staff that its parents that put on tan on children for comps and to show her where in THE CLRG POLICIES that's its compulsory even though dance teachers tell all competors over 10 to wear it and they are all members of CLRG

Happy Days

The room was lovely. I had dinner at The Green Room and the waitress was friendly with a lovely smile.
I had a swim and sauna the next morning and the staff at the Leisure Centre were also lovely. When you are a solo traveler, a friendly welcome is most important. I was delighted with my stay at the Gleneagle.

I walked in the National Park the next day and it was beautiful🌸. I have lived in Killarney previously and it is lovely to come back as a guest at the Gleneagle.

Went too see riverdance at the inec. Just for staying at the hotel I got a special discount and good seating for the show. The staff were helpful too as i had plans that day so meant for an early early breakfast. No bother on them. But one thing on the down side was, as i was checking in over comes another member of staff with a tray of coffee .. for me i thought smilling , no they were for the staff. but the staff member was more interested in the coffee than checking me in..

The only thing that wasn’t as great as expected was the pool. The rules are more strict than I’ve ever seen at any resort, parents have to be in water and can’t stand on side. I didn’t swim, my husband did and I could only sit in a small area next to the pool. Also the slide the rave about on the site was not inflated. Everything else was great. Loved the food from the front desk in the green room and great service. Loved the free tickets to the Fury’s at the Convention Center! Breakfast was great.

Every thing is very easy the train from hueston to mallow then change train and when you get too killlarney the bus is outside waiting to bring you to the hotel the only conplaint is that the bed is not soft enough for me as i have a back problem and i have to bring a blow up mattress to go on the bed and it is not handy for carriying .Food wasa eccelent and good choice and entertainment every night will be back again .

The hotel is very big and did have good amenities for children. The breakfast was also good value, with a good selection of food to please everyone. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was on the small size and the bathroom could have been nicer, though it was very clean. Overall for what we paid it felt a bit pricey. Not sure if I would stay again as I think there might be better options for what we paid.

Hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are refurbished and a good standard and staff great. It is a bit of a walk into town but a good spot if your main interest is the National Park or being outside. A word of warning would be to avoid the food. To be honest I didn't eat the main meal there but I haven't eaten a worse breakfast in some time. The food at breakfast resembled the worst kind of hospital food imaginable. Not at all enjoyable and you would expect more given the room rates.

Rally of the Lakes Visitor

The hotel room I booked was meant to be an accessible twin room, but when I arrived at hotel was given a very poor quality room with a double bed at the back of the hotel. The smell on the corridors was poor as cleaning was in progress still as we arrived to the room - the leftover pizza covers, smelly food and what seemed to be smelly nappies from waste bags outside some rooms. Also the room was too far from reception having to go through two corridors after getting off the elevator. The room was unsatisfactory and was moved to what I was told a better twin room. However, I was very disappointed with the room considering the price to stay at this hotel. The hotel is overpriced and not value for money - it probably has a good reputation - hence so many don't complain about it and the INEC is what redeems it. I would not recommend this hotel, the food quality is ok, but limited choice at breakfast comparted to other hotels I have stayed in while in KILLARNEY. NOt value for money and overpriced hotel. The twin room with the balcony was too small, had limited space and for a recent upgrade - it tried to be upmarket looking - but failed in this miserably. The staff at the breakfast area were not friendly and could not wait to get you out of the area to set the table for the next guest who appeared for breakfast. Poor overall experience with this hotel, they would need to review their prices of staying at this hotel.

I would say you would want to tell adult guests it’s not ok to hang around the lobby in bedtime attire but you can’t assign class to guests I guess. :)

Very expensive for what it is. Brilliant breakfast apart there were problems with the room the bed was really hard so much so that you were numb on the side of your body that had contact. The toilet sounded like a jet engine for a minute when flushed and the next night it was very difficult to flush. At 21.40 it was impossible to get a seat in the bar as the were occupied by children. Why the kids (under 12) are allowed in the bar that late?

I stay in Killarney every few weeks and like to try different hotels. The Gleneagle is in a great location, staff are friendly and helpful. The room was, clean, tidy, quite large, warm which was great. The only downside is the hotel is going through renovation work, which when finished will be great. Just meant that some things were limited, restaurant and bar areas. However don't let this put you off great facilities spa, pool, gym and attached to the convention centre.

Very nice hotel close to city center. During the day you can catch a shuttle at various times into the city for 2 Euros or a taxi cost about 6 Euros. There is a gym, pool, and hot tub. The staff was quick and friendly. Room service was slightly slow but tasted good. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The bar in the lobby didn't seem to know how to make a decent cocktail but they had plenty of other drinks to choose from. This hotel has a combination of adult and kid friendly environments. I would stay here again, no question.
