Avoid at all costs
Staff are unhelpful and borderline rude.
Booked a double room for sole occupancy and was given a twin room. When I protested this was not what was booked I was fobbed off. I asked to speak to the duty manager and waited over 30 minutes before going back to reception. Duty manager was aware I’d asked to speak to them but decided I wasn’t her priority.

Fobbed off that the hotel was fully booked and could not change my room and offer no alternative so agreed they would give me a refund and checked out. Went to another hotel.

Now radio silence and struggle to get an answer from them with regards the refund.

This hotel is tired and dated and the room I was given just felt unclean so I wasn’t prepared to stay there.

Yes, old. We were very sick and only one person attended to us. Head of housekeeping woman helped get us something to eat. In a non accessible room. In bed all 3 days with no updated tv. No Ice was offered nothing to drink or eat but once. We’re seniors and no one noticed we weren’t alright from main desk. First trip abroad from US sick 10 days.

The location of the hotel is ideal for the Wallace Monument, it’s within walking distance. I have to admit though that the cooked breakfast, on a self service basis was poor. Albeit the continental breakfast was ok. We also ate in the hotel the evening before which the food was available was off the bar menu, it was nice. Rooms simple but clean and comfortable.

Rooms were spacious & bed very comfortable. Staff were welcoming & approachable creating a nice atmosphere already initiated by the drive up to the hotel through the stunning university grounds.
At 9am breakfast (serves till 10) was good with no complaints in quality but choice was very limited and only empty spaces where the fruit & pastries had been.
And so, petty as this may sound it has affected my rating

Disappointing, staff cold and offered no guidance on the facilties when checking in. Stayed for 6 nights and the bedding was not changed the entire stay, last couple of days nobody even refresed the tea and coffee. Rooms dated with damage. Asked for a try from the bar to carry some drinks to my room, instead of giving a clean one from the pile on the bar, they gave me one that was full of spilt drinks, poor customer service

Room 103 needs a refurbishment, mouldy ceiling in bathroom, bizarre electrics - light switch behind TV!? Outside guttering next fixing. Lights from the next door office on all night shining in the room, no headboard to bed, beds very short. Overall very poor experience in this room. Breakfast was also poor quality for the high price.

The hotel is part of the Stirling University campus. Many of the staff are hospitality students. The room was good, everything was clean although it could do with an update. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding.
Standing outside for 30 minutes when the fire alarm was activated at 2am did spoil the whole experience though.

i clicked through the email about 'how was check in?' The stay was fine, but check in and then subsequent trips to breakfast were not good as there was no obvious flag on the hotel system that we had booked breakfast. i had to search on the app with little mobile reception at the reception desk and eventually find a small note of Full breakfast included which the hotel grudgingly accepted. We were then obviously not added properly to the room list and had to go through this rigmarole again at breakfast. It was annoying that the actual booking wasnt properly communicated to the hotel from hotels.com and suggested that booking direct may be preferable

Staff weren’t friendly in the restaurant. Receptionist made a mistake with my booking and on check in we waited 30 minutes to check in.room had window wild open, cold and smelted terribly.Manager next day was professional and offered us a free meal. Sewage in assessable bedroom was terrible and we felt sick all night. Tv didn’t work and staff didn’t always come. No porter after 11 pm. No phone to call reception and had to use mobile. Very disappointing for the money.

Room was big, but didn’t really have any lighting? 1 spot light on the wall and a few lamps that didn’t work. Shower also didn’t turn on, and overall cleanliness could’ve been better.
Breakfast was alright, but a bit boring (would’ve loved some more fruit/cold cut options).
Great parking options, but need to be aware it’s on campus of Stirling uni, so there’s a good few minutes to get into town by car.

Appreciated the on campus housing option when visiting our daughter studying at U of Stirling. The room, although small and somewhat dated, was very quiet with a lovely view of the greenspace behind. Especially appreciated the accommodation for gluten free breakfast options (as a Celiac). Bus stop conveniently located across from the hotel.

Initial room was nice enough, but smeeld strongly of either perfume or air freshener - so much so that it was as if someone had tipped the entire bottle into the room. This was rectified by offering us a different room.
The Hotel purports to be dog-friendly, but ours wasn't allowed in the bar. As he wasn't allowed to stay in the room on his own, we had to shut him in the car while we had a drink.
The grounds surrounding the hotel are beautiful, with a number of scenic walks, through wooded areas.
Parking was easy and free fopr residents, and some of th staff were very helpful and friendly, whilst others - most notably at breakfast - were a little less so.
The breakfast buffet offering was abysmal and definitely not worth the £13.50/person. Pastries hadn't been replenished, very little on offer on the buffet, other than overdone bacon, inedible sausages and eggs cooked to destruction. Best go elsewhere to eat for better value and quality.

Didn't realize this was on a college campus. There's a bus stop just outside the main entrance. Two false fire alarms in two days, one just as we unloaded and one at 10pm or so, staff handled things well and fire department was prompt. One night there was only one person working the bar/restaurant and a group that had been in a conference room for an event was using all the tables and piling up used glassware on the bar and we stood in line awhile and weren't able to be seated. Not walkable to any other places so we ordered a pizza to be delivered after asking the desk staff about options. The next night we were able to get a table and the food was very good but service was much slower than we expected. Safe and quiet but we would stay closer to the city next time. Great for college visitors.

Overall a good stay, suited our requirements, breakfast was good but finished at 9:00, and cleared away very quickly. We eat in the restaurant the first night and it was very good, it would have been nice if reception had advised us to book a time after we had checked they were open (Sunday night). Rooms are tired(very) but still functional and ours was large.
Our room had a round toilet seat on a normal shaped toilet, Why!!!

Located within the University of Stirling campus, the extensive landscaped grounds offer a safe and tranquil environment. A bus service links the campus with Stirling town for those without their own transport (which is recommended for this out-of-town location).
An excellent breakfast and a bar are available although there are no lunch and dinner facilities.
Carpeted throughout, the building is warm and quiet. Wifi is free.
Rooms are comfortably appointed whilst the usual bottled water, often found in other hotels, is not one of the items provided (except by payment from a vending drinks machine).
This hotel does attract business conferences.
A pleasant and comfortable venue.

This is a convenient place, outside Inverness, but be aware it is a big hotel and hosts conferences and it can be noisy if the crowd spills outside on summer nights. The staff were great and the food was lovely (we only had breakfast). The rooms could do with a little upgrade, but they were clean and that's the main thing. Thank you goes to the staff, they do a great job.

Room is very dated, it was clean enough but the furniture was old and damaged, light didn’t work properly as it flickered consistently.

Bed was really uncomfortable, super hard in the middle then softer at the edges. Never seen a tv so small in my life.

Room was really humid when we first went in.

There was also very obvious staff conflict in the evening, one waitress in particular appeared very rude to another one. Conflict was very obvious to customers, not very professional.

We had requested a twin room. Instead, two cisgender guys 6' and 200 lbs+ snuggled up in a double bed. Can't blame that on Expedia, but the conditions that the hotel itself set. Window was inoperable, but they did bring us a swamp cooler with ice. We had dinner and breakfast there. both were good. The girl at the front desk and the manager did try to change the room when we got there, but were unable. They just kept showing us the fine print where it says \"as available\".

The hotel had not received our booking and said hotel was fully booked. We were put in one of the suits, so thought the stay would be amazing, but if this is one of the best rooms in the hotel... well I wouldnt want to see the other rooms.
The rooms were tired and dated, only good thing about it was that it was clean. It got extremely hot in the rooms, we were staying with a 4 month old and he was just in his nappy and still struggled with the heat. Had to put him in pram and walk the corridors to get him sleeping as the corridors were cooler.
Toilet felt like it was going to come off the wall, and was a big crack running along where it was attached.
Had friends who stayed at the hotel that had made reservations in the restaurant, but it was lost in the system and since it was fully booked they couldnt get a table.
Just feels like the hotel has so much potential, but falls short in standard, and staff seems very inexperienced.

Few were turned out as there was no availability and I left after 20 minutes waiting at my table.

This hotel is part of the university. It advertises a pool but you must walk to it(10 min). Children must be strong swimmers and only lane swim. We were not told to take towels so we had to walk back wet.
Room was very warm, no fans available and windows opened only a crack. Lift was a far walk from rooms.

Had a lovely 2 nights stay here clean room , bed was comfortable, room had everything we needed apart from air-conditioning but still manged to sleep with window open. Even got to see 2 different bagpipers playing at the hotel main entrance! Hotel staff was very friendly and room was quiet! Food was lovely and had a lovely breakfast before our long journey home. William wallace monument was a spectacular view from our window, highly recommended and would stay again.

Booked a double bed room for 3 nights 2-3 months advance but checked into 2 x single beds room initially without any explanation until we questioned about it and next day the staff has changed to a double standard bed room.
The girls in the front desk were unfriendly and no basically customer service.
Breakfast was good and staffs were helpful in the restaurant.
I will not recommend this hotel to my family or friends

The welcome was spot on, efficient and friendly could not fault the young lady on reception. One bedside light in our room was not working, reported this immediately, reported again at breakfast and again later yet it was not repaired.

Set in lovely surroundings near to Stirling University. Access to building was good. We had booked an accessible room which was a long way from reception through carpeted corridors ( not easy for pushing wheelchairs). Bar area was on two levels and all areas on lower level were occupied. Staff member did offer to move people around but we declined. Decided to take our drinks to entrance area. Shower room was ok size but had a tiny wash basis - try sitting in a wheelchair and washing your hands and your lap would get very wet. Also mixer tap not working properly which meant we couldn’t get any cold water only lukewarm - no matter how long we let it run. The rooms looked like they needed some updating but I didn’t feel the price reflected this. If programme of updating is due then I think more consideration needs to be given to the location of accessible rooms and the facilities within them. We did leave these comment with reception but have not heard anything since.

Pleasant surroundings and comfortable room. Easy parking. Our sleep was disrupted by inconsiderate noise outside the room late at night.

The hotel is set in the grounds of Stirling University, which is a bit confusing when you're looking for it but the grounds are lovely
