We had a very enjoyable stay at the Kippen Inn. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed a lovely cooked breakfast each morning. The bar and waitress staff were really helpful in helping us with some bags and even getting us some scales to weigh our luggage for a flight. It was much appreciated. The bar area was fun to to have a chat and the food was very good.
The bed was comfy and the shower had plenty of hot water. In our room it was a combined tub and shower so that may inconvenience someone with mobility issues.
The only thing that may need attention is the wifi because we were sometimes not able to get wifi for the television.
Overall, it was lovely and would not hesitate to return

Lovely inn in a lovely village. Dated on outside but room was large, clean and modern with rustic charm. Friendly and helpful staff. Within driving distance of Stirling and some shops available in small village. Fridge in room was appreciated. Parking not ideal for larger cars, rear of car would be exposed to road. Shower door could be improved. Overall really nice experience and would stay again, price fair for this area and time of year.

Very old building so lots of quirky features like different shaped wooden skirting boards, the bath in our room in need of refurbishment but clean & both sink & toilet looked new, our room was lovely & cosy (a bit too hot at times but preferable to it being cold)
Paul the chef & manager friendly & welcoming. All food excellent - locally produced, beautiful presentation & very inventive dishes - the marinated salmon was amazing & the tunnocks tea cake dessert to die for.
All staff were friendly & attentive without being overbearing. Ben in particular was so professional but immediately made you feel at home & nothing too much trouble for him

This was a beautiful little gem in the Scottish countryside not far from Sterling. The staff were amazing and the rooms cozy. They have dining option on site and the food was very good.The church bells in the city do chime every hour day and night.

What a wonderful little Inn. Besides the delightful owners, the Inn appears to be a gathering place for the small town. We arrived when some locals had taken over the garden off the bar and were doing a live jam session with piano, violin, guitar, etc.. The place was packed, and it went on for 3 hours of good fun and beer. Some of the ballads brought tears to my eyes. Do not know how often it happens, but the mix with locals is a great experience

Interesting place to stay

Characterful old pub, our room was large. Windows were a bit draughty but the heating worked so it wasn't too big an issue. Friendly reception from hosts, and a lovely dinner in the pub. We had to leave at 8am so missed breakfast unfortunately, but note that on Hotels.com it says breakfast is from 8 30 and at the Inn we were told from 9.00am. Bathroom large, clean if a bit chilly. All in all a good stay for our last night in Scotland.

Misleading ad and lying staff

I found out when arriving in Stirling that the spot wasn’t in Stirling but 15 miles away from the town. Their isn’t regular schedule bs and cab was £25 each way. The refused to refund money even though their ad states Stirling. They blamed everyone except themselves. However it seems that Hotels.com is powerless to do anything to Inn like pulling their inaccurate ad. A well they disturbed me 3x that evening. N the morning I had. Breakfast . The glasses thy put out were gross. These people are liars. Mean.

Give it a try...you won’t be disappointed.

I just know that this is going to be a “wee gem” of an Inn in the near future. We stayed here 4 years ago and can see the difference The owners took it over in November 2020 - and have already made many improvements for the better inspite of a long period of lockdown. They are hardworking , friendly and 100% dedicated to making this the place to eat and stay when exploring Stirling and The Trossachs.
Our room was spacious and clean, but the decor was a little dated and tired. I understand that their focus has been to build up the food clientele and am confident that they will refurbish the rooms in due course.
The ambience in the bar is very good and the restaurant is perfect for all types of dining. This brings me onto the food. It is OUTSTANDING! All diets are catered for and all dishes are beautifully presented...even breakfast! We’ll be back!

An OK stay - not as good as the reviews would have us believe. Food was good - but eating area next to the bar makes for a noisy atmosphere and some of the language was a bit 'choice' especially later on in the evening. Room was comfortable and clean but shower in en-suite was very old with mould in the sealant and a shower door that just about closed. Mould on windows caused by extreme condensation didn't give the feeling that this was a really 'cared for' establishment. Staff were all very friendly.

We had invited friends for an evening meal however they had to leave at 10pm as the hotel closed and the only place we could go to in the hotel at that time was our bedroom which was small. Breakfast was not available until 9am and until that time we had no access to the hotel other than our bedroom as the door to the main part of the hotel was locked. Breakfast was continental with a small selection of hamsand cheese but only syrup or lemon curd to spread ie no jam or marmalade, most unusual in any Scottish hotel The waitress was a very pleasant person. I had emailed the hotel at the time of booking but got no reply and all in all Scottish hospitality was lacking

The Inn at Kippon was one of the pleasant surprises of our trip. Kippon is a very small town, but it has a beautiful park and views. The woman who seemed to manage the inn was very accomodating, and always seemed to be there. The food was good. There were several dogs in the pub, so it must be dog friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. There was a black and white cat in the neighborhood that was friendly and greeted us whenever we were outside.

Terrible experience no hot water no heating. Dinner was cold. Ended up leaving as we were so unhappy. This Inn is dated needing a good clean and upgrade. Staff need to be trained specifically in how to make sure food is served at the correct temperature. Waiting for a full refund.

We simply loved this quirky little Inn!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable two night stay based at The Inn at Kippen. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and we enjoyed excellent meals and hearty breakfasts, all cooked to order and delicious! Our room was clean and comfortable, and all the usual tea making facilities were on hand for that late night or early morning cuppa.
We can't thank the staff enough for making our stay so enjoyable, and with a nod to the friendly locals, whats not to like?!
Kippen is quiet village with shops and bars and is ideally placed for exploring Stirlingshire and beyond. I'm sure we will stay there again on our next visit to the region!

Not during Kippen Fair

Our stay was spoiled by the noise. During the day it had been Kippen Fair. The pub was very busy and lively during the day and this carried on into the evening. Rather than stay for food we drove out and returned after 9pm. As we pulled up the police were arriving from the other direction. It turned out someone in the pub had over indulged in alcohol and was becoming a nuisance. He was subsequently taken away. We went up to our room and were planning to go to the bar for a drink. The noise in the room was loud as we had to have the window open due to the heat. The next thing we heard was a woman in the street, with a small baby. She was shouting to her partner in the pub that he had to go home. The guy came out and went over to his partner, took the baby out of the pram and stood wobbling in the street. A friend then brought them drinks out which they drank outside our window still talking loudly. After a while we got to sleep to be woken several times up to 2pm by people shouting whilst leaving the pub. Next morning was very quiet. We went down to breakfast at 8.20am to find it didnt start until 9am. Not a problem at all as we went for a walk and came back for 9am. We were shown to a table and that there was a continental breakfast waiting. I had expected hot items as well but what was there was adequate. After 20 minutes or so another couple arrived and were shown the breakfast but were also asked if they wanted cooked breakfast and what they wanted. Not over happy!!

There was no heating in the bedroom in the morning and it was rather chilly. Half an hour to wait for breakfast, first no milk she had to go for it. No granary toast just white. We were the only two staying in the hotel that night so nobody else for breakfast.

This historic inn is set in the beautiful village of Kippen. Though off the beaten track, it's well placed for visits to Stirling and the Trossachs. The rooms are comfortable and cosy. Food at breakfast and dinner is delicious and very reasonably priced.

Wonderful place to stay

Awesome stay. Rooms are comfortable and clean. 3 star quality is probably accurate, but I'm personally not interest in anything fancier. We had a room with 2 singles and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Room had a small TV as well as a kettle and Tea/Coffee fixings. The building itself is beautifully \"old\" with tons of character. Parking was available right in front, but best you have a small car.
All the staff was amazing and were willing to help us with anything we needed. Breakfast (don't miss it!) was officially served from 9-11am but as we had to leave by 9am to catch our flight home, they opened the kitchen early and made us a beautiful meal. Don't miss the dinner menu either - Michelin rated food was delicious. Expect a laid back experience (ie. take your time). If you are in a rush you will end up frustrated.
The town of Kippen is tiny, not much to do there, so use this as a staging area. A 15 min drive gets you to Doune Castle or Stirling, both well worth a visit.
We stayed 3 nights. I'd go back without hesitation.

I had called Expedia to book a room because my app wasn't working. The employee mistook my r's for p's and I ended up 20 minutes outside of Stirling. I was upset until I began the drive (beautiful) and pulled up to the Inn. It's in a beautiful setting with easy parking. Very friendly staff and the apple and plum pudding was heaven

We booked 2 rooms for one night. My sister and her husband needed to switch rooms with us because their room smelled a little like dogs, and she is allergic to dogs. The rooms seemed very clean, other than that faint dog smell in one room. Both rooms were extremely small. The restaurant on the first floor of the Inn was very nice, and the food was amazing!

Beautiful inn close to Stirling and Doune Castles

Our family of 3 had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Kippen. Our room was beautiful with an organic feel due to the use of a lot of reclaimed wood. Beautiful large bathroom with a wonderful shower! The beds were also very comfortable. We were greeted by Jamie and Alexandra upon arrival and they helped make her stay even more wonderful.
Especially Alex who offered a hug upon departure! We also dined at the inn (highly recommended) and had a wonderful meal, meeting Mark owner / chef. A good choice for sure!

Perfect for relaxing highland trips

This is a jewel in the area. I was kind of skeptic first, as some of those older buildings are rather worn down. But this is a really nice place, the personnel is amazing and the food fantastic (even if portions were a little smaller than expected). It was enjoyably quiet at night, the rooms had enough space, and even if they were a little old, they had charm and were kept clean and functioning.

Handy Place near the Trussocks

Nice place to stay for a visit to Stirling and the Trussocks. The rooms are decidedly \"quirky\" but comfortable enough for a couple of nights. Parking is on the quiet roadside beside the pub. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but the real treat about the Inn is the food, We ate a delicious meal both nights we stayed.

Quaint Hotel with Restaurant

Quaint to look at from the outside, everything went downhill from there. Steep stairs to get to the first floor were not easy for any person with the slightest leg problems. All floors terribly uneven and flexed and could cause problems. Had to find someone at the bar to get milk for making tea in the room.
The food was OK though the Cullen Skink vegetables were undercooked and had some bones in the fish. Ordered toast with breakfast but never did get it.
A disappointing stay.
