We stayed one night as we were going to Loch Katrine for a cruise on the Walter Scott. Our room was clean and comfortable. Tea coffee supplied. It was dated but for the amount we paid it was good. The hotel is quite large and seemed to cater for bus parties. There was a large function suite for the bus parties to dine in. We had breakfast and an evening meal. Our meal was very reasonably priced. The bar is well stocked. We managed to walk into Aberfoyle from the hotel along a path through woods which was lovely as bluebells were everywhere! All the staff were very pleasant .

Room smelled so fresh when we walked in, it was good size and very clean, a comfortable bed and buffet breakfast was nice next morning. All staff were lovely and friendly!! A lot of nice walks around.

Good hotel to stay at, but has no amenities.

The hotel needed serious updating, but was clean and good. The food was very good. Staffing was very pleasant and efficient. Very close to town, about a mile but on a charming paved path. The town was cute and close to Go Ape where my granddaughter and I zip lined. The town had a great restaurant. The hotel is very large and serves bus tours.

Ideal location for exploring The Trossachs

Fast, friendly check-in. Room was bright, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. The food in the restaurant was nice and there was enough to choose from the breakfast buffet in the morning.

The staff were lovely, they were so welcoming, friendly & helpful, they even gave us a room at the end of a corridor near the fire exit so that it was easier for letting my dog out at night.
I would 100% recommend this hotel

Dog nxt door bark all night scared to move in room had to turn tv off at 11 pm cause apparently it was upsetting the guy innnxt rooms door , banging on wall shouting threat ext , I was going to leave hotel but I had a cipla pints so couldn’t drive , in all honesty it was like a dog farm

Don’t stay here

Place was clean although I thought there was a pool based on the strong smell of the bleach product used for cleaning. I can see the appeal for bus groups but don’t stay here unless you like visiting a seniors care home. Food was terrible.

Aberfoyle stay

The Rob Roy hotel on the outskirts of Aberfoyle is an excellent place to stay to explore this beautiful area of Scotland. Parking was available onsite and thehotel ison the A81 road from Glasgow so it is easy to find.
The hotel Staff were excellent, especially Karen on reception.
Overall excellent value for money.

Comfy, clean, but thin walls!

Comfortable and clean, but very thin walls. We were awoken at 7am by the neighbors and the people in the hall. Breakfast was fine --something for omnivores, vegetarians, and lactose -free/gluten-free guests. Good location.

Nice enough. Nice surroundings. Clean room & facilities. Friendly staff. Only drawbacks were lack of air con or a fan, in 29° heat it was a struggle to sleep! And the shower was awful! It's a long walk from reception to your room, so if you can't walk far, mention this when booking! 1 mile walk / drive to Aberfoyle, nothing directly next to the hotel but at least that meant there was no noise outside from noisy revellers! It's was very quiet!

Lovely 2 night stay. Twin room, good size. Extremely clean. Definitely newly painted (maybe plastered too). Not a mark anywhere. Room had brand new furniture and beds too. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

The breakfast was good with a selection of cereals and hot food, We had one evening meal at the hotel which wasn’t great, found a pub in the village which served lovely evening meals and would definitely recommend

have driven by the Rob Roy many times in the past but first time i have stayed and will be back. It is a good location and certainly seems to be friendly and welcoming. Facilities are a little dated and could do with a little modernasation but for the priced paid very much value for money

Checked Hotel online. Looked at Menu, which was our Anniversary Dinner, we Liked, so we booked Hotel. Went for Dinner only to find out there was a set evening menu, which was not the one online. That seemingly stopped at 6.00pm. I asked if the Chef was prepared to cook a meal we had seen online and it was refused. We had to go elsewhere in the Town and had a fantastic dinner. I had to leave my drink also, as I had to take my car into town. Very disappointing service. No thought for the customer. Wouldnt recommend to anyone, as their website is false information. Very deceptive

The hotel is based in a beautiful location.
However the place could use a good clean, spider webs everywhere and felt more like a nursing home than a hotel.

My partner almost had a severe accident. There was a piece of large broken glass in her drink and she almost mistook it for a piece of ice and drank it. That could of been fatal!
Let the bar know. Should never of happened.

The beds felt like sleeping on concrete and woke up sore both mornings. And the floors could use renovated, every step was a crack or creak.
Only decent thing was the staff they were polite and helpful.

The hotel is in a good location, being only a short drive or 15 minute walk away from Aberfoyle, the hotel is clean and nicely laid out. The room was clean and spacious and was adequate for what I needed. I only had breakfast in the hotel, but that was excellent. I went for the cooked breakfast, but there were plenty of other options available. The hotel is a great base to explore the Trossachs and surrounding areas, I will definitely come back again.

Nice hotel, in beautiful, quiet surroundings.

Rob Roy provided me with exactly what I needed. A simple, no thrills, clean accommodation for a one night stopover, at a very good price. The room had tea/coffee facilities, with an clean en suite bathroom, with an efficient shower. Also, free wi-fi.

1 night b+b in March reasonable price. Room good size, clean, warm but located in a tired annexe of hotel. Breakfast good. Not height of tourist season so hotel was empty and lacked atmosphere. One small coach group there. Some staff could have been more welcoming. Appeared to be short staffed though with one surly character. Applied strict segregated meal times to coach group that were there from England. We also found them inflexible in this regard. Could do much better in my view.

We needed to split the drive between the Midlands and northern Scotland. Rob Roy looks like an old fashioned motel but is very comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. A great place to recharge with great breakfasts.

I stayed here before and after the Runrig \"Last Dance\" concert in Stirling for which the Motel is handily placed and reasonable priced.
Although not impressive from the outside, the Rob Roy Motel exceeded my expectations and I would have no hesitation in booking it again if in this area or recommending it.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The waitresses both at dinner and breakfast were very attentive and efficient.

Hotel was quiet upon arrival. Staff were very helpful at check in and asked it we were eating as we would have to book for evening meal which we did.
Well stocked bar and we were also given information on how to walk into the village by the path behind the hotel grounds.
Bedrooms were a good size with king-sized bed, tv, hot drinks and biscuits available. bathroom clean and modern.
Only fault with the evening meal was the lack of choice and there must be a different menu for each night. Although portions were small, food was nice and well presented. The same standard for the buffet breakfast which was plentiful and filling.
Could not fault the hotel at all and if we were to go back to this area, I would be happy to stay here again.

Our stay was most enjoyable. Staff were helpful, rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast was first class. A couple of niggles - the fire door was open almost all of the time. This suited us for easy access to our car but it must pose a security risk, as does the open access to the \"tunnel\". Also, it was a long walk from our room to the dining room. This could be quite refreshing - or tiring!

Overall hotel is dated but spotless. Very comfortable rooms and clean spacious bathroom. Water pressure is excellent. The location is very handy to explore the surrounds, and there’s plenty of parking. The only negative is that the wifi isn’t great.

We could hear people above us walking around as there was no great soundproofing between walls and floors.

We found this hotel very dated, tiny rooms and extremely noisy..... very very budget, breakfast was terrible as we told a few things had broken down in the kitchen, even the coffee was cold, couldn’t wait to get out of there!
