Comfortable rooms and nice kitchen for tea and breakfast. Grocery store 1 minute walk away. No soap was provided though and there was inadequate lighting in the room.

Our stay at Seven Stars was above our expectations.
The accommodation was extremely comfortable, with large spacious rooms, super comfy bed, and a separate kitchenette to prepare our included breakfast. We would have loved to stay until 11am book out, but we were head on touring.
The Pub was delightful: very warm and comfortable, with great food. The staff were very friendly and gave excellent customer service.
It’s been the high light of our travels so far!

I would say having more switches in the room would be good. One side of the bed din't have an appropriate switch at all... there was only one table lamp for the entire room. One of the lamps was plugged into a faulty plug and the bulb blew. The shower water was way too hot and I couldn't tone it down. Generally a bit noisy but to be expected in the Inn.

The room was a good size but unserviced. The breakfast advertised was poor. The en suite could have done with upgrading. There was no non slip mat in the bath/shower. The landlady was helpful and pleasant but the lack of chef when we arrived was disappointing as we chose to stay in the pub to enjoy in dining

Lovely little place. Nice and clean with a comfortable bed. We had a meal in the bar on the evening and the food was delicious.
Just note that breakfast is help yourself in the shared kitchen and not a cooked breakfast. There is cereal and bread to choose from with a selection of jams.

Bit disappointed. First night party in the pub until 1.30 am so kept awake, second night water company decided to start digging a hole outside the pub at 10.45 pm so very late to sleep again! No water to the pub due to a leak. Got up early to leave at 9am only to find hole in the road and access out blocked by the draymen delivering the beer so held up for half an hour. Room not serviced while we were there.Don’t think we will return!

Property itself was excellent, paid for bed and breakfast but no breakfast! No milk or bread to have anything to eat. Poor food in pub, staff didnt inform us of no onion bhaji on curry and replaced it with lettuce???? One member of staff ignored us at the bar and only served the regulars until I spoke to him.

An easy drive to Bath, very welcoming staff and the bar below wasn’t loud to disturb our sleep at all.
The bathroom is lovely and easy to use bath and shower.
The plugs were far away from the bed and the only light source outside the sun was a single lamp. These are the only real downsides that stop me giving it five stars!

It has a garden it is quite far out from Bath centre unless you have your own car. Remember to ask for wifi code, it is not volunteered. No information in the rooms. It is self service breakfast with limited things in the fridge.

The room was lovely and very clean. It said breakfast was included which was very disappointing , it was continental but all they provided was a loaf of bread, some cereal and a piece of fruit. The food at the pub was also disappointing, poor quality with limited choice

The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The area was idyllic, and all staff were very friendly and cheerful.
My only small complaints were that my phone had trouble finding a wifi connection, the shower was a little too powerful, and there was an ambiguous humming noise in the ceiling (I assumed from some sort of boiler) that became quite loud when you're trying to sleep.

Rooms are in separate annexe from pub with own key so you can come and go as you please. Room was very clean and bed comfortable. Unfortunately, check in was very poor. We were left standing in bar area for five minutes before being shown to room and passed key. It would have been nice had we been greeted properly and given, at least, some information regarding checkout, breakfast, additional facilities etc. As it is we soon realised that tea/coffee making facilities and the buffet breakfast were all located in a small kitchen area shared by both rooms (this isn't clear when booking although all items were fresh and clean) Again, given the lack of any information, we checked out by pushing the key through the main properties letter box as the pub was closed at the time with nobody around to pass them to. All in all, stay was fine but just lacks a nice welcome or any clear information.

Nice room but very noisy!

Great room and nice continental breakfast for the price. We stayed on the last saturday of the month and it was 80's night. It looked good fun, but we wanted to sleep and the music was really loud and people talking outside our room until after midnight. There was no double glazing so you could hear everything. No complaints about the room though!

I have never stayed in a hotel room where There were no drawers or wardrobe in the bedroom. Four hooks on a wall was not enough for two coats a suit, tie and my clothes for the funeral. Nowhere to put my clothes in. After a very distressing day at a funeral and wake of my friend we went to have an evening meal and told there was no food on as a birthday party. We had to go out to eat and when we arrived home the noise was deafening from a live band playing punk music which sounded like they were in our room. We were drains and shattered. This noise lasted till midnight. We could not even hear the TV. It was horrendous. The van was packed beneath our window to pack the car. The noise and shouting and carrying on lasted till 1 am at which point I was in tears . This was totally unacceptable.

Nice location, but going out of business

The owner told us when we arrived that he was closing up the business (which was principally a pub) in the next few weeks. As a result there was no breakfast and the they were no longer serving food for evening meals. The accommodations were good, but were not being looked after. The owner gave us a substantial rebate for not being able to provide breakfast and we purchased breakfast in Bath. A pity about the overall experience as with this rather pretty location an engaged operator could have provided a wonderful experience.

Do not stay here- total disappointment

Im not even sure where to start, we booked this room because we were not familiar with the area and wanted easy access to food, a clean room/bed, and of course breakfast. When we arrived, there was no one here, not even a car in the parking lot and all the doors were closed and locked up. After waiting in the parking lot while looking for other accommodations in the area the bartender pulled in and said the girl who was supposed to open had called out sick.

The rooms: Im pretty sure all she did was make the bed and throw us two (hopefully) clean towels. The coffee mugs had been used, the coffee bags had been opened and lose tea bags were provided and to top it off the bathroom shower had mold all over the tile seams.

The pub: After settling into the room we decided to make the most of it since we really had no where else to go and the room was prepaid. We went down to the pub for dinner to find out the kitchen had closed down and they no longer served food.

Breakfast: Needless to say we never received our complementary hot breakfast in the morning that was also promised.

When we went to leave there was no one there again so we left the key on the nightstand in the bedroom and left.

This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had, do not stay here. You will not receive what you paid for.

I was not asked my name on arrival, well the money for the room was taken when I booked, mid August, so don't supposed it mattered who I was. The shower was awful, it took ages to rinse my hair. The room had not been hoovered. The bed was comfy and had a lovely courtyard view. I had no breakfast as the pub wasn't open at 0830 when I told breakfast would be available.

Arrived at Seven Stars at around 5pm and shown to our room, it became immediatley apparent that no cleaning had taken place for some time. The bed was unmade,as left by the previous occupants (at first we were told the bed was o.k and was in this condition because their iron was broken).the bathroom and toilet were filthy, black marks on the carpet and the electrics were a danger (pulled out a light plug and the entire socket came away).cups and saucers had been used and left dirty,and the T.V. Didn't work.I could go on, it's hard to find anything positive to say about the room.
The Manager was called and eventually,after some time arrived in our room with fresh bed linen, in his defence he offered us an immediate full cash refund along with free drinks and his appologies.

A nice room, but very poor service.

After being initially pleased with this hotel, the size of the room etc we were immediately disappointed with things like: paid for breakfast which we never received, had kettle with teas and coffees but with no cups and we had only one toilet roll (for two nights between two) and it wasn't replenished!

We paid for breakfast upfront and arrived at the pub (in the pouring rain) at 8am for it and then no one turned up! When we raised this with the owner there was no apology or offer of compensation. We paid for breakfast both days and didn't receive either which i think is really poor service.

Overall, it was a very frustrating experience and we would have expected more for what we paid per night!

I was traveling with my 15 year old niece. This hotel says it has wifi...only in the Pub, not in the room which was loud and not suitable for a young person on a Friday evening. There was a bit shouting fight outside the pub that scared us off going downstairs. The tea cups in our room were used (not washed) which made us question the rest. The phone number listed does not work and has been taken off the side of the hotel. We planned with the hotel to have breakfast at 8:30am. No one had shown up by 9:30am so we left, leaving the key in the room. As the phone number didn't work, we had no way to contact someone. I called hotels.com with this info and they also couldn't get a hold of the hotel.

A country hotel close to Bath

We had great difficulty finding this hotel as it not in Bath but in the village of Timsbury some 8 miles away. the expedia app directions finally sorted things out but there was great confusion initially looking for this place in Bath. The booking confirmatiom did not mention Timsbury.
The hotel is a nice village pub with friendly staff and locals.

What a disappointment!

Arrived late - after 6.00pm after a big day in Bath, drove the long trip to the Inn to discover that the rooms had not been prepared and still suffered from the previous occupants- dirty sheets, dirty cups, and dirty bathroom. As there are only two rooms and we needed both I was compelled to return to Bath looking for accommodation on the Easter weekend...to no avail! Forced to drive all the way back to London. Really guys this is not good enough...all I wanted was a clean bed and a wash after a big day out and you disappointed us.

Room clean apart from cobwebs. Room is a bit tired and needs talc.A very noisy generator kept us awake most of the night.
We paid for 2 nights B&B , breakfast advertised as full English, but only had tea and toast on day 1, due to a gas problem, and no breakfast at all on day 2, apparently owner was still in bed when we eventually left at 10.30.
So all in all, not impressed at all and would not recommend.

Noisy but nice

I stayed here for the bath half 2015.
In a way we were lucky that this is a pub with nice guestrooms, because we arived fairly late...but the pub was still open.
However, as the rooms are right above the pub, anyone who is a light sleeper might have issues, unless they take earplugs with them, as the walls are fairly thin.
But the room was great, the service was very friendly, I had a lovely breakfast, so I would definitely recommend this place and I would consider going there again for next years bath half.

Great Overnight Pre Bath Half Marathon

Great stay - booked as an overnight before competing in the Bath Half marathon. The location is ideal for the Odd Down park and ride just 10 minutes away.
Very obliging with an early breakfast and I am sure the full English (large though it was) helped towards a PB time on the day!

Lovely rural English pub with very friendly atmosphere. Probably very old but renovated quite well. The food in the bar was great.
Breakfast was also good. Unfortunately the shower was very ordinary. Highly recommended.
