We throughly enjoyed our stay at Eden Vale Inn. The room is clean and has everything you need. The outdoor patio area is peaceful and lovely. We ate our breakfast outside each morning. The staff is helpful and friendly. Most of the information and communication needed is done by email or text. We will definitely will return.

Eden Vale is a hidden gem! We accidentally stumbled across the Inn while looking for accommodations close to Roseville. The location is closer to Placerville, but not far from Roseville. Small and quaint, the staff was courteous and attentive. The room was beautiful and we even had an outdoor tub (private). We will definitely be back when we visit the area!

Overall experience was great. The place was very nice and quiet which we loved. Only issue was the one L2 EV charger. If I was the owner I would add a 2nd and maybe 3rd EV chargers since a lot of people in CA have EVs. The usual Tesla owner hogged the charger all afternoon and night so we only got to use it for a hour and got barley enough range to get us to a supercharger.

We had a great stay. The owners were so friendly and helpful. The property was 30 min from home but we felt like we were far away. It was a nice relaxing spot for a quick getaway from our busy life. We enjoyed sitting outside next to the pond. Our room had a private outdoor soaking tub. It was about a ten min drive back to the freeway and restaurants.

A very pleasant stay. Our room “The Cypress” was compact yet very cozy. The bed was very comfortable. The outside tub was amazing! They provide a eucalyptus mint bubble bath that smells so good.
By far my favorite part of our stay was the breakfast they provide, it was absolutely delicious, my favorite dish was the tomato basil soufflé!
I definitely recommend this place.

I booked this hotel as a birthday gift to myself. I could sit in the soakong tub and read a book without my family bothering me or chores getting in the way. Edenvale exceeded all of my expectations. My wife and I were seeking a quiet, relaxing and beautiful place to spend a weekend. Being Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to avoid the hectic, touristy places, where crowds would be everywhere we turned. We found Eden Vale Inn, and it was perfect. Starting with David and Caren greeting us when we came in, and said thank you and goodbye when we left, they couldn’t have made it better. The room was small, the smallest in the seven room inn, but very tastefully decorated, and with all high end fixtures, including the rain bath shower and lighting in the room. The bed was super comfortable. The quietness, with the only noise you can hear was the birds singing outside, was serene. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous, one day with a scrumptious marscapone stuffed French toast and pineapple sausage. The pond that sits just outside our room was perfect for a short walk, with chairs to sit on and relax by the water. So peaceful! If you are looking for a de stresser for you and your significant other, this place is the best!! We’ll be back!!

This place truly is a hidden gem! Perfect place for a quick romantic getaway in the Sacramento area. The property is peaceful, the outdoor bath was fantastic, and the room had lots of thoughtful amenities. I also appreciated that bath products were available to buy since we forgot some. The only downside of our stay was that with The Juniper room there isn’t much view of the nice property, but then that’s why it’s the least expensive room (still worth every penny though). Also, the religious symbol (Christian cross) in our room was slightly off-putting, given that we are not religious and that the inn is typically used as romantic getaway for couples like ourselves. We would also have preferred not to see a cross in the lobby as well, so as to be more welcoming to people of all faiths. But regardless, we had a great stay here and would definitely come back.

I would highly recommend staying here! This bed and breakfast is super nice and not like your usual bed and breakfast. The grounds are beautiful and everything is super updated. The bathtub and fireplace that comes with the room is amazing and makes it so cozy! We felt so relaxed the whole time. Also, the free breakfast they bring to the room is so yummy, it feels like 5 star room service and it’s different everyday. The fruit that came with the breakfast was so fresh. Eden vale feels so serene and private, it’s the perfect little couple’s getaway :)

We absolutely loved everything about our quick stay! Our son was at a camp nearby, so we wanted something close for our 8:30 pick up. Eden Vale Inn was 10 minutes from his camp, and we fell in love with the are? Communication was great, and they were very accommodating with dietary restrictions for breakfast (which was delivered to our private patio) The soaking tub was a lifesaver after our 8 hour drive from Southern California! Our only complaint was that we couldn’t stay longer ;) We loved it and can’t wait to go back for a much longer visit next time. The beds were heavenly soft, the area was peaceful (and traveling without our own kids, the quiet was wonderful!) We highly recommend Eden Vale Inn!

Wonderful bed and breakfast! When we arrived the check-in was super easy and David took care of us. There is a private entry to all of the rooms. Everything was clean. We stayed in Cottonwood and the room was spacious and we had a great time lounging. The private outdoor bathtub is a dream! Two people fit very comfortably. The grounds are beautiful. Tons of little nooks to find and sit and have a glass of wine. Everything was great!! Breakfast was brought to our patio in the morning. The beds are very very soft, but that was the only thing we'd change. You will enjoy your stay here undoubtedly!

Classy Inn in Rustic Placerville

What a delightful surprise the Eden Vale Inn is—a precious gem nearly hidden in the forest. We were visiting (from Santa Barbara) family in Shingle Springs and never imagined finding ourselves at such a classy retreat in rural Placerville. Everything about EVI is top drawer—appealing website, warm reception, cozy guest rooms, first-class amenities, yummy food and generous hospitality, stellar service. Innkeepers Karen and David are exceptional in providing a pampering experience. And, communication before, during and after our stay was attentive and caring. Our only regret is that we could stay only one night—not nearly enough time to enjoy all the classy comforts that EVI has to offer their guests. Next time much longer visit!

We were surprised by the quality of this B and B. Everything about the room was wonderful especially the linens. There was a fireplace, door to a lovely patio, and many other features we haven’t found in most hotels. The breakfasts were excellent, and the owners were gracious and helpful. This bed and breakfast deserves five stars. I would give it more stars if there was a choice. The Cottonwood Room was large and had the latest high tech lighting and fixtures. We had direct access to the beautiful gardens. They welcomed our service dog and everyone was very comfortable with his presence. The breakfasts were outstanding.They've thought of everything to make their guests comfortable. The location is perfect for wine tasting adventures. They provide a club member pass so that you are able to take advantage of wine club discounts for a day. Thank you for creating this beautiful space. We will return.

nice location to base a driving holiday in North California/SF area. we were 90 minutes from Lake Tahoe, 90 minutes fron Napa.

the Inn is a high quality B&B, busy at the weekend but quiet during the weekdays, we stayed for 4 nights. Breakfast was excellent, healthy and just right. The room was spacious enough, good bathroom and shower and with a small kitchen area just outside the room where there was Team and Coffee making stuff, a microwave etc.

we were there in early March and the weather didn't really support outside eating, but that also looked well provided for in the warmer months.

Spectacular!

We spent five wonderful nights. The acres of gardens at our doorstep to stroll through, the private soaking pool, the pond for moonlit rowing, the dining and sitting areas blend into what was the most romantic environment we could have imagined.

All this supplemented by an outdoor fire pit where s'mores are a nightly offering and readily available barbecuing facilities along with an outdoor kitchen area.

This was nicely complemented by our room that was outfitted with everything of extremely high quality. For example, the individual room air conditioner ran so quietly one would think it is not working. The bathroom and fixtures were extraordinary. The bed and its linens were superbly comfortable. The lighting offered every mode one could want with a simple touch. And the accolades could go on and on.

The breakfasts were plentiful, varied, nutritious, tasty and excellently presented. We are not able to imagine any particular eating preference that could not be totally satisfied.

All of the above was surpassed by the excellent service that took advantage of every opportunity to make our stay more pleasurable.

Be sure that the name Eden Vale is an appropriate description for this place created by Gail and Mark. We would encourage you to enjoy this piece of Heaven.

Perfec tWeekend Getaway

While scanning magazines, looking for ideas for a surprise getaway for my husband's birthday, I saw an article about Eden Vale Inn B & B in Placerville. Less that an hour from our Sacramento home and located in gold country, it seemed perfect. The website depicted a serene, beautiful locale, so I booked a room with a soaking tub. It exceeded our expectations. The room was state-of-the-art, yet rustic. A chilled bottle of champagne awaited and we enjoyed it while soaking in our private patio tub and then in front of our room fireplace. The entire weekend was so peaceful and romantic, yet we still managed to take in two wineries, a nice hiking trail and a very good local restaurant. Mark and Gayle were helpful and knowledgeable about the area, yet unobtrusive. The breakfasts were yummy and healthy and beyond anything I could prepare myself. We can't wait for our next occasion to go again.

Seven Stays and Looking Forward to Our Eighth

We recently stayed at the Eden Vale Inn for our seventh time and are already looking for to our eighth! We have visited B&B's throughout Northern California and in other countries and the Eden Vale Inn is by far the best. Innkeepers Mark and Gayle are warm and welcoming and take care of every detail. The rooms are wonderfully appointed, quiet, and realxing, Many have soaking tubs for your pesonal use. All of the controls for your room (lights, fireplace, etc.) are next to your bed. The breakfasts are skillfully prepared by Gayle who has studied cooking in France. We enjoy wandering the grounds which has a lovely pond, flowing fountains, and a myriad of plants. Perhaps our favorite things to do is enjoy s'mores by the firepit and meet guests from all over California. If you are looking for a romantic, relaxing, and renewing experience in the Sierra Nevada foothills, we would strongly recommend the Eden Vale Inn. Maybe we'll see you there on our eighth stay!

The Proposal!

Eden Vale, by far is the best B&B I have ever stayed at. The B&B was beautiful, with plush gardens and beautiful scenic surroundings. Eden Vale is ?expectably? clean and invitingly comfortable. It is ABSOULTELY beautiful place to stay, not to mention the wonderful and fabulous ?Gourmet? breakfast that they serve! Staying in the beautifully decorated rooms was a relaxing experience. The rooms were clean, electronically updated and very private and quiet; we hardly knew anyone else was there. The one attraction that Eden Vale has is that it seems like we were away from it all, that we were way out away from everything and everyone? but the best thing about it was, we were 30 minutes from home. Our stay at Eden Vale was also a WONDERFUL memory I will never forget, from meeting Gayle-Erbe Hamlin and Mark Hamlin, whom were very hospitable, to our unforgettable stay there. Eden Vale Inn is a must!

My husband and I spent our last anniversary at Eden Vale Inn and it was delightful! Gayle and Mark were such lovely hosts and made our trip extra special by helping us with local destinations and dinner reservations at some wonderful local restaurants. We went bike riding on paved trails through some very scenic countryside, and rested in their peaceful gardens. We can't wait to go back.

We really enjoyed the design of our room and the friendly atmosphere. The room was in a rustic setting but had modern up to date amenaties. Great time with my wife in the Spa with a couples massage. We have traveled all over the world and have had massages at some of the best Hotels in the world and this was one of the best. Really enjoyed the Japanese soaking tub on our balcony and the comfortable bed. The wifi in the room was a big plus as my wife had to do some work which required the internet.If you want to go to the casino its only 15 minutes away. Go and have a great experience at the Eden Vale Inn like we did. you won't be disappointed.

We had the loveliest, coziest, yummiest rainy weekend in the beautiful Northern California foothills (off Highway 50, not far from Placerville and Coloma) at the Eden Vale Inn Bed and Breakfast this past December. What impressed us most about this wonderful place - besides the incredibly well-prepared breakfast that everyone raves about - was the beautiful design of the building and garden (rustic and elegant) and the attention to detail in the decoration and comforts. Our hosts were very hospitable and YES, we plan to return to see it in the sunshine...

Eden Vale Inn - A true gem and romantic getaway

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Eden Vale Inn and it was truly a romantic getaway for us. The blessing is that we found this Inn separately. My husband was downstairs researching a place for us to get away on his android phone and I was upstairs on our laptop computer also looking for the perfect place to spend our anniversay. What was amazing is that we both found Eden Vale Inn at the same time and we knew it was meant to be. We booked a room for one night and ended up staying an extra night. The Inn was perfect in every way. We stayed in the Gray Pine room with a private deck and a japanese tub, oh so romantic! Everything was perfect. Mark and Gayle were wonderful and warm. They made us feel so welome. We had a truly fabulous time together and we were able to really relax and enjoy ourselves. We are definitely going back and we may even make this a tradition and spend our wedding anniversary at the Inn every year. It was a memorable time and the innkeepers made it so special. And on a final and important note, the breakfasts were gourmet and so delicious. Kudos to a beatiful bed and breakfast inn.

Perfection in Placerville

Eden Vale is one of those rare gems where you wouldn't change a thing about it. The rooms are ultra-luxurious and furnished beautifully. Very modern--no grandmotherly chintz here. Mark and Gayle are friendly, gracious, and helpful, but not in-your-face. Breakfasts are amazing, and the pre-breakfast coffee service delivered quietly to your front door is a thoughtful gesture. Having a glass of wine in the private Japanese soaking tub was so relaxing, and having another glass (or two) by the fire pit overlooking the pond was great, too. This is a great spot for a romantic getaway, but is also kid-friendly if your kids are fairly well-behaved. My little darlings had a wonderful time swimming in the pond, swinging in the hammock, making s'mores, and enjoying the tub and the rain shower. Not to mention an awesome selection of DVDs. We picked up wine, cheese, and other snacks at Nugget Market in El Dorado Hills before checking in, so we didn't even leave the inn for dinner. Picnic by the pond was just what the doctor ordered for sheer relaxation. Then we went river rafting to get the ol' heart pumping again. We can't wait to return to Eden!

Summer Getaway at Eden Vale Bed and Breakfast

My husband and I found Eden Vale to be the most delightful place to get away from the city for a few days because it has the atmosphere of an upscale country farm. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Breakfasts featured wonderful veggie quiches, scones, blueberry pancakes, mixed fresh fruits and more. You could look out from the wide veranda high in the trees over the grounds covered with native plants, vines, and fruit trees to the sound of bubbling fountains below. The weather, even at 9:30 a.m. is so perfectly cool, you want to sit there forever. The Placerville area is surrounded by scenery so beautiful, you will want to just take some time and explore the countryside. Eden Vale Inn has all sorts of places, inside and out, to sit and read in a private spot, to visit with family, or to walk among the trees. Gayle and Mark take such pride in making theirs a real destination, not just a stopping place along the way. They treated us that way too, as though they had known us for years. We enjoyed our stay so much we are recommending it to everyone.

Upscale Living in a Rustic Setting

The Eden Vale Inn Bed and Breakfast near Placerville California is an amazing blend of sophisticated style with rustic outdoor elements. The attention to detail is spectacular and the attentiveness of the innkeepers is excellent. The gardens are beautiful and relaxing, and the food is wonderful. A very restful and enjoyable stay for my girlfriend and I. We will come again. Highly recommended.

A Little Bit of Heaven

It was a Love-At-First-Sight experience from the moment we first arrived. The attention to detail is amazing. Our privacy was so complete that we felt like we were the only guests there. Relaxing Stay

Ingenious barn structure with several wings provide privacy for all. Beautiful, imaginative gardens and SO many birds! Lovely swimming hole. Excellent, healthy breakfast. Decor is unfrilly, unlike many B&Bs and leans toward Asian simplicity.

In all regards, we had a wonderful stay.

If you love a beautiful garden and pond with lots of amazing bird watching this is the place for you. The amenities are first rate... a most comfortable bed, a great soaking tub, wonderful modern lighting, a terrific shower, and beautiful furnishings. The breakfast will be tailored to your desires and can't be beat. Most importantly, Gale and Mark are such great hosts. It's like staying with good friends. The wine tasting is first rate as are the local restaurants Gale and Mark recommended. This place is not to be missed!

Superior Bed & Breakfast in Placerville

Eden Vale Inn Bed and Breakfast in Placerville completely exceeded our expectations. We were greeted by the friendly host and given a tour of the Inn. Everything was so clean and expertly arranged. Our room was equipped with everything you would need or want on your stay. Inside was a comfy bed with comforters and excellent pillows, a fireplace and romance lighting and the bath was state of the art faucets and a shower with multiple shower heads and outside was our private soaking tub with privacy doors. In the morning coffee was delivered to our door. When we went to breakfast we were greeted by the friendly staff and received a homemade meal which was fresh and delicious. The only thing I regret is not having time to stay longer. Good job Eden Vale!

Beyond Expectations

This place is incredible. complete w/ a spa in foothills abt an hrs E of Sacremento.

Owners Mark & Gayle ensure your enjoyment & satisfaction.

Iinside the main building (and old barn now a beautiful home) & out buildings are incredible, The place has rustic charm, yet is spacious, modern, w/ high tech hiden inside (push a romantic & lights dim, fire place comes on)

We enjoyed the outdoor personal large hottub on our private deck.

The service and food was outstanding, complete with man choices of wiine delivered to our room that evening.

. The grounds are beautiful, from a fire pit for the eveing under the stars, we enjoyed to a row boat on the small lake, to a secluded garden areas we enjoyed walking through (several areas) to just relax or read a book.

The location is close (6 miles) to Coloma. Our drive was just a few minutes to enjoy the Marshall State park that is history abound with Gold discovery and Sutter's mill. There is a museum there and building from the town of Coloma and the community of Sutter's mill. The American River is near by, with White Water River rafting. (up to level 4 rapids) and an many are's for gold panning.

The town of Placerville (abt 10 mi I think) is nearby also. Having once lived near by I know you can enjoy the history of hangtown and the home of the painter of light, Thomas Kinkaid.

So, while the Eden Vale Inn, Bed & Breakfast is secluded in the rolling hills of Sierra Neveda's, it is near many things.

We were there in May and the weather was beautiful in the high 70s with a light breeze during the day and very comfortable at night.

We will RETURN. Possibly, I would like to go back in the Fall to enjoy the Apple festivale and of course we could go anytime to enjoy the many winerys and tours for wine tasting.

This is a GREAT place for your HONEYMOON or your 2nd honeymoon.

I Don't Like Bed & Breakfast Places!!! But This One I Loved!

As a rule, I just don't like B&B's.... For me B&B's are usually like staying at somebody's house or sleeping over at Grandmas.... I mean, I don't mind a few antiques but there is a reason that old things are old. In a room I'm staying in, I much prefer modern rooms, modern conveniences, modern bathroom and the quality finishings of a first class hotel. The food at your typical B&B can also be sketchy. I have gone out to breakfast after a few B&B breakfasts.... Eden Vale Inn is the very best of all worlds. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable and have everything you could need and/or want. The common areas of the buildings are comfortable and intimate if you want or can invite conversations with other guests if you chose. The grounds are interesting and well-maintained with numerous seating areas that are all different, peaceful & inviting. The breakfast was really good and way better than any restaurant I could have found. My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Eden Vale Inn so much that we have already booked another date there. The only mistake we made was staying only one night. We won't do that again and you won't be sorry you chose to stay at The Eden Vale Inn! Bill & Sandy Chico, CA

A magnificent experience!

If you can imagine peace and serenity in the Garden of Eden, then you understand the beauty of the Eden Vale Inn Bed and Breakfast. Paradise

This was our first visit to Placerville, and we could not have picked a better place to stay at then Eden Vale Inn. This paradise is gorgeous! From the grounds, to the rooms, to the main areas of the inn ... it is all beautiful!! We felt genuinely welcomed by our hosts, Mark and Gayle -- they were sweet and helpful to us. Breakfast was delicious, the bed was oh-so-comfortable, sitting by the outdoor fire pit at night was lovely, and so much more. This is a pet-friendly place, and our doggie just absolutely loved it too!! We cannot wait to be back.
