The staff were great, the room was clean. The only real problem was the access cards, the system is Very Old ( like maybe 2001 ) and we had to have our cards reset 5 times in a 3 day stay. The breakfast was Much Better than expected, 2 full size Belgian waffle makers that were self serve, scrambled eggs, sausage links, cereals, muffins, coffee and juices and I’m sure I’m forgetting some things.
As I said, All the Staff we interacted with were kind and professional. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll be happy to stay there again!

The room was in good condition except for the shower knob. It had black tape over the middle of it. There was no blow dryer & the tv had only a few channels to watch. Also, there were no accommodations for me that I’m disabled. I had to go downstairs, as if I was going into a basement. The elevator was broken or something. I needed assistance to get down 2 sets of stairs to get to my room a few times due to not being able to bring the rolling cart to my room door. So I had to go up & down the stairs to take my luggage to my room. Very inconvenient for me, & a struggle. 😔

We stay at the Best Western every Christmas because it is clean and comfortable. This year, the room was a bit dusty (possibly due to the construction), we got only one set of towels for two people, there was no alarm clock, and a quarter of the room was completely empty, giving the room a spartan feel. I'm hoping all of this will be improved upon before next Christmas.

The room was very clean. Staff was friendly. Scrambled eggs were good. During the winter months, might want to provide a comforter as it was quite cold and we didn’t realize it until we were in bed.

Also, our bill disappeared from my email. I didn’t delete cause I was going to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Can you resend the bill? Many thanks. We will stay again. We have family in the area.

The staff was super nice, the location was very convenient to our friends house, and the room was big. That is about all the positives that I can mention.

Some of the faucets were leaking, there was no shower gel in the respective container, the bed was sinking in where one of us lied, and we could hear every single neighbor - especially the ones above us, and not because they were particularly loud. They are renovating right now. I hope that eventually they'll be done with all the rooms and that they'll put some sound insulation in. The price we paid was definitely not justified, not even on a Thanksgiving weekend.

This property is near downtown Placerville (Main and Spring Streets) Although it’s not walkable unless you’re an experienced marathon walker, it’s an easy 8 minute drive. Now for the property. Excellent, friendly staff!!! Every single person I encountered at the front desk was wonderful! When I got to my room #227, the sink in the bathroom was clogged up. I played with the plunger/stopper, but water was just sitting in the sink. Since there was another sink in the coffee area, I didn’t care. Strangely the following day. The sink seemed to be draining better. I wish there were more blankets in the room. I expected one in the closet, but nothing. I don’t like sleeping with a heater running all night because the room gets very stuffy. I could have called for a blanket request, but I was so tired from the flight that I didn’t want to deal with a clogged sink or blanket. When I turned the heater on, the unit blew a bad scent out. I tried switching from heat to the fan mode, but that didn’t help either. The bathroom bathtub had VISIBLE long black hairs. At the end of the day, I didn’t care because don’t nitpick. Im just sharing my review for people who walk in thinking they booked a 5-star hotel.
Positives: Great staff, comfortable bed, great location next to a nice Mexican restaurant and close to historical downtown Placerville, lots of parking and a nice free breakfast in the morning serving both hot and cold options.

From the moment we drove onto the property we were disappointed how outdated it felt. From the door handle falling off in our hands, to the zero hot water in our room, to the “lime green” water in the hot tub, to the bathroom sink faucet that was literally ready to fall apart, to the “fireplace” that was nothing more than a colored lightbulb that blows hot air. For $244 a night, this was the most over priced hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff was nice, but clearly wasn’t there to go above and beyond. When they were told about the lack of hot water, thier only response was “I’ll note that”. An “I’m sorry” would have gone a long way. 20 years ago, I could tell this hotel was very nice! But with lack of upkeep , room 308 is far from a $244 room. There aren’t may options near placerville, but for the money, I would definitely recommend driving a little farther.

Saturday morning, October 25, our room did not have any hot water in the morning 6:30 am to 8am. I called the front desk and they said they would get a maintenance person to look into the matter. When I returned from breakfast around 8:30 am there was hot water. This is the reason we gave good ratings on some of our responses.

The hotel was in the middle of renovations. The dust and air quality in the room made it difficult to breath and I ended up with a sore throat that lasted for the next 2 days. Our room was next to a noisy freeway.
Breakfast was more than we expected with eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, yogurt, waffles and much more provided. It was replenished as necessary.
Staff were helpful and available. The room was stocked with tea, coffee and accompaniments with a pot to heat water and a refrigerator..
The bed was comfortable but the pillows were tiny on a king bed.

There was a leak in my room as I was on the top floor.
It looked like it had been repaired before. I hadn’t noticed it when I first checked in. It rained the first night so the repair obviously didn’t work. I was given a new room but I don’t think that room should have been rented out in the first place. Also my key rarely worked
to get into the building.

Just what I needed for an overnight stay

Staff were the high point of this visit, made us feel very welcome. The facilities and amenities are fine for the price.

We were driving up from SF bay area for whitewater rafting and wanted to get the driving done the night before. We needed a clean, welcoming hotel with breakfast included. This hit all the marks for a reasonable price. The hotel is remodeling / doing some construction, but we weren't inconvenienced by any of it.

After this stay I will not return. I have stayed here many times, and each time it feels more like a struugle. I have to lug my baggage down the steps and up the steps. This time the hall was blocked and I had to carry my heavy bags back up the steps and across the pool area to the bottom floor to get to my room which was closer to the center of the building

Best Western Plus Placerville is amazing-complimentary breakfast, complimentary coffee/tea in the reception area, has a well equipped gym with even a Peloton, a swimming pool where one can take a dip after a long day and a beautiful garden well maintained by Aquiles. Mary at the front desk was efficient and very helpful. No wonder this hotel is often fully booked.

Red flag warning, this place has no elevators! However, I was told they are installing them with a new construction project. I stayed with my daughter and dog. Because we had the dog, we were relegated to basically the basement of the property. This means we had to haul the dog and the luggage up and down two flights of stairs. Having been injured earlier this year, and now being 70, that was more than a little inconvenient for me. Not to say it was inconvenient for getting the dog outside to do his business. Hotels should understand that people with pets should be on the ground floor with easy access outdoors. Kudos to the hotel Handyman who helped us with our luggage our first day we were there.

The person checking us in didn't inform us that the water was off before we checked in. Then after we went to our room and unloaded and left for dinner when we returned the flip lock was locked with all our belongings in the room.no one at the desk knew how to open the door so they had to call maintenance and we had to wait for him to come feom home to basically know it off the door jam with a hammer and screw driver. And after all that didnt even offer a discount or some compensation.

It is very difficult to rate this hotel. On the one hand, it is a good hotel, and I could recommend it, but it definitely does not match its price of $200 per night. For $100-140 I would say that its fair rating is 4/5. Pros: good service of the staff, rooms without foreign smell of chemicals after cleaning, enough space in the room, convenient parking, swimming pool. Cons: if the room overlooks the road, it is a little noisy, our window was blocked in a slightly open state and I could not close it completely to reduce the noise level. Poor ventilation in the room. We could not turn on the ventilation in the toilet. In general, the room was clean, the beds are ok, but the pillows are not comfortable, the curtains are dirty and covered in cobwebs. Small dining area for a fairly large hotel, about 8 tables and 3 of them for 2 people. I am not trying to find fault, I just want to give feedback so that the hotel can improve. Minus one point for the price, minus one for minor flaws.

Very friendly service with a Nov clean and quiet room. The mattress was a nice firmness and lots of pillow options.
The breakfast was good, especially with make you own waffles and specialty coffee machine.
The one big downside is a three level hotel without an elevator. It’s difficult with for seniors.
It was a nice stay overall.

Placerville Inn is a well-maintained and welcoming hotel with clean comfortable rooms. The comfort and satisfaction of their guests is clearly a high priority for their friendly staff. Parking is plentiful and convenient. I will always stay there, when I visit Placerville.

A bit disappointing for a usually great stay

I always get a room with a couch or easy chair as my back makes sitting on the bed painful.....the couch here was filthy with a capital F. The manager brought a bedspread a sheet to help me cover it so I could sit on something clean. I have stayed here many many times, this was the first bad experience I had and they were very accomodating to help me get it covered. That kind of dirt doesn't show up in a day. They have many construction people stay there......so they need to stay on top of the conditions of the furniture.
