We came late at night. It was so dark at the entrance we thought it was closed or something. When we entered there were a dozen of men playing billiards. Nothing wrong with that, but just saying if you’re checking in by yourself. The entire facade of this hotel is pretty and modern but needs focusing on daily up keep. Our bathroom baseboard had barnacle dust. It gross. There was an unfinished project too. The created a wallpaper hole on the wall and forgot about it. The bed sheets felt it had tiny dusts on the foot part. Yuck. But the location was superb right in front of NASCAR. The back was Sheetz gas station were all truck drivers park at night. There you go. All in all it was ok. The lady in the morning was very nice.

The heater was noisy and clanged off and all night keeping us up all night. Heard the adjacent room complain to the front desk on checkout about the same issue. The smiled and asked him if he wanted a copy of his receipt. The buffet was the worst I’ve ever seen, chose to stop at the Sheetz next door. The room did not have any heat on when we arrived at 9 pm and it was only 13 degrees outside. Took forever for the room to warm up and the floor or anything you touched was still freezing. This place is an embarrassment to the Hilton name and they should remove it and run as fast as they can.

I rented 2 rooms, one tv didn’t work in the room, the other room fridge didn’t work. The elevators were shotty and scary to get in. None of the key doors worked only the front.

I had a very good experience at this hotel with a room that was spotless and well cared for with a comfortable bed. I was on the third floor facing the racetrack and it was fun to watch some local vehicles running around the track. The front desk clerk was friendly, courteous and welcoming. I will stay here again and have no hesitancy recommending this hotel to others.

We have stayed at this property several times. The last 3 times when we walk in to check in at night the owners family are all lounging in the check in area with their shoes off and feet all over the furnishings which is always off putting. This time around we had room 205 again. There was no blankets. The blankets used were a bed skirt on the bed. Thats it. They put bed skirts on the bed to be used as blankets which is odd. After driving 8 hours to get there we were too tired to call down the desk. The next morning breakfast is always very blah. Today there was no OJ and no hot coffee. It was out. The pancake machine also wasnt working

Tru Hotels have been greatly cutting back on breakfast options. No eggs, bacon/sausage or potatoes offered at this location. The bowls for cereal and yogurt were too tall to place underneath the cereal and granola dispensers (defying common sense, of course). The bagels were of so-so quality at best (in many locations, Tru once stocked quality bagels). On the positive side: Staff was friendly, polite and efficient. Room was good. Television set and remote were easy to use for those who understand Internet TV (that includes me).

What a great find . The hotel was very convenient for us and I loved how modern clean and funky it was !
Everything had been well thought through - the staff were very courteous . Guess what …….when we tried to tip they refused and said they “ were just doing their job “ - we were totally amazed and found it quite refreshing . We complimented the hotel to the manager - she’s clearly doing a great job with the staff - thank you .

The first thing I noticed when I arrived was the strong air freshener. This was overkill. Not everyone can tolerate something so strong.
The TV remote was a joke. Could never get the channel to turn on. Same with the phone.
The ice machine and bucket was on the main floor which meant that I had to go downstairs to get ice. They said that the only available ice machine is on the 3rd floor but it was out of order. Why don’t they have ice machines on each floor?
Many of the workers are from India and don’t speak English. I tried to explain something to a room attendant and they had to use Google translate to understand what I was saying.
It was pet friendly which was nice.
Loud racing noise from cars on the NASCAR motor track in front.
Sadly I can’t recommend staying here. I’m a Hilton member but this hotel disappointed.

The AC Was either too cold, or hot air blowing. The room overlooks I 95, and the traffic was so loud that we couldn't sleep. The TV didn't work, so we couldn't drown out the traffic that way. Guy at the desk was disengaged & not very helpful. They exercise bike was broken.

Great pitstop

The staff was friendly and helpful. All needs were met. Breakfast was fresh and decent selection: eggs, sausage, cerals, pancakes, etc. Coffee and tea available at all hours. The pool was murky but I think it was just the chemicals. Quiet location with amazing views of the Nascar Dominion track. Everything was very clean. We stayed just one night on our way to Washington, D.C. and would stay here again. Price was great for all that was offered.

I liked the free breakfast buffet, the lounge and the dog friendliness. I didn't like that the cleaning people couldn't speak English, so I wasn't able to ask for additional towels or things like a trash bag or a liner for the ice buckets unless going down to the main lobby. This was a major inconvenience since I was on the 4th floor.

We Do Really Love Tru

Stay was comfortable and good. The shower had some mildew and the wall paper was peeling. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast while we know it was free left a lot to be desired. We love common area for games and mingling. Only bad part was the coffee was lukewarm and hot water was maybe room temperature.
