My room was changed twice. Firstly the washroom drain was making a noise. In the second room, shower water was not draining as the tiling was not quiet correct. We were then uograded to the 8th floor, which was fine. The hotel looked a bit outdated and could do with some renovation and updating.

However, the staff afe very friendly and accommodating. They listened to our greviences and acted quickly to move us to other rooms as required. Good job.

Arrived early at the hotel. Staff would not check us in and wanted us to pay for extra night despite us arriving at 5 am. Paid for the extra night. Small rooms, breakfast is just okay, not upto 5* standards. Stayed at other 5* hotels , lots of choices.
Would I return to this hotel? Most likely not! Turned us off at checkin, then got turned off seeing the room size and bathroom.

Unfortunately, this stay was not great. The coffee was instant coffee and their espresso machine was broken. The shower in the room was broken and actually fell on one of our feet and hurt it pretty badly. Wouldn’t visit again. Giving three stars because the location is absolutely excellent

I changed my booking through you from Sheraton to the Met in my 2nd stay in Delhi from 1/29/26 & 2/02/26. I was supposed to pay on arrival which I did. But they already swiped my Amex card firming day as deposit as they got my Amex card no.When I checked out on 1/26/26 for my first stay. I found it out when no I was checking my Amex APP and pointed it out to them. If I didn’t find out, they could have overcharged me already. It was a CHEAT. Also, the front desk managers were arrogant and not helpful, and their room cleaning staff were looking for tips all the time with annoying and unnecessary flatters to please their residents. I won’t come back there again.

The rooms were very clean and the breakfast wholesome. The room's lighting was so complicated that I had to switch every light off; the lights were still on at night, so I had to take the key out, which meant I needed my phone's light to go to the toilet.
It is a typical room design, if a little cramped.

It was supposed to be a 5 star hotel but their rooms are bog standard tasteless. Even Budget hotels in UK like Premier Inn or Travel Lodge have better and cleaner rooms than this hotel. The prices of tea and coffee were extortionate. All in all, it is a very basic hotel! Location was good as close to Connaught place but apart from that everything is just basic budget hotel quality. Also, Wi-fi is crap..they think wi-fi is some sort of gold dust restricted to only on 2 devices and a lowly 1 Mbps speed and they call their hotel 5 star!!! It is a 0 star for me

At check-in, the bellboy stood waiting for a tip in a way that felt almost defiant. I had no issue tipping, and of course I did, but I was also struck by how openly another staff member complained about low wages and expected money, even in front of a supervisor who seemed to accept it as normal. It would be so much better if tipping could remain a gesture of appreciation, something dignifying for everyone, rather than a necessity born from difficult working conditions. Bad vibe in general.

The stretch of street you might walk along to reach the livelier intersection leading to Connaught Place can feel a bit out of place, with homeless people and stray dogs around. It was uncomfortable at times, but I never felt threatened.

This room was booked on Hotels.com to be two beds. As we arrived we were given a room with only one bed. Later, we inquired at the front desk on the phone and were informed there were no other rooms available. However, inquiring at the front desk, we found there was another room with two beds. This is my favourite place in Delhi, whenever the rates fit in my budget, and this was probably the 6th time I stayed in this hotel. And will do so in future also. But, this time there were a few \"surprises\".

1: The digital safe in my room was too small, can only take wallet, cash, and such. Most travellers, and particularly business travels, carry a laptop. And when we go out in the evening, the digital safe should be large enough to take the laptop.

2: For any room service, this time I was asked to pay on the spot every time. I have no idea why I was selected for this \"honour\", but hereafter I will prefer to be treated like an ordinary guest who settles his bills at check-out time. The client, who is to reimburse me, prefers a single consolidated bill.

These were the two major things. A few minor things are a) the in-room dinning menu is all too heavy. A few lighter things, like Khichadi, curd-rice, will help. b) the towel rack is not in the shower cubicle, but at the other end of washroom. Strange. c) Senior citizens feel a bit safer with an anti-slip mat on shower floor.

Above is NOT a \"cribbing review\", but some constructive suggestions for improvement.

The place was ok. The room definitely needs updating. The furniture is dated, as well as the decor. My main qualm is that the room had a dank smell. A little bit on the wet and moldy side which was not pleasant at all. This really changed my perception of the hotel. It’s located in a great area, the breakfast buffet was good and the room service was great too. But the weird smell was off putting and really set an overall not great tone for my stay.

The highlight of a short tour of Delhi at the height of hot weather was the incredible comfort we experienced at The Met. The breakfast was so satisfying with dosa’s and Omlettes on demand to great tasting masala chia. They had so many dishes at breakfast that it was hard to decide what to eat. The chef assured me that the meat was halal and the two non-halal items were prepared completely separate.

The showers were the best after sightseeing all day in the heat which many people don’t think about but will greatly appreciate. The staff of Shiv, Sunil and Marvinder proactively kept asking if we needed anything like water, towels, etc and got us whatever we asked for immediately.

The property is a great balance between historical and modern. The managers checked that we were enjoying ourselves and Mr. Shrivastava even gave me his direct contact with permission to call anytime if I needed anything.
The bell staff and front desk staff were very welcoming when we arrived and gracious upon departing.

I highly recommend staying here.

Poor customer service at reception . I bought some clothes and told reception a package will be delivered and I might not be in at that time, reception said ok but when the package was being delivered, they declined. The boys st the reception desk gave poor excuse when questioned. Most of the staff are very good or excellent. Raj Kumar , cook, Himanshu and others.
Temperature in Delhi was 44-45 and door persons had to wear heavy clothing, suits to stand outside in that heat to open door for guests. Human abuse. They can stand inside and come out to open the door. I will not be going to this hotel again. .

If I could give less stars I would…The hotel itself was fine physically. However, we feel like we have been taken advantage of since we arrived. We were WAY overcharged for the cab ride from the airport. We have confirmed this with several other places. Then we wanted to use our spa credit that came with our room for massages..not only were we not allowed to use our spa credits, but they overcharged us on the massages as well. The prices keep changing for everything. This is not a good feeling for the place you are staying. Lastly, during my friend’s massage he felt very violated and was touched inappropriately during the massage, he was offered “extra” services that were unwanted. Overall a terrible experience. Do not recommend.

1. The air conditioning in the room cannot be controlled. A single 'button' that goes through 1,2,3, off fan speed.
2. The electric outlets are Indian plugs only. No provision for visitors like me from the USA to plug in. U need your own Indian to US/International converter device.
3. Switching off or dimming the lights in the room is very difficult. It goes dark, or some bright lights remain. In my two days I could not figure out the lighting!!!

Wonderful Stay at The Metropolitan Hotel, Delhi

I recently spent a few nights at The Metropolitan Hotel in Delhi and had a truly wonderful experience. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, providing a great base for our stay. The main restaurant offered an extensive range of dishes each night, ensuring there was something for everyone. The quality of the food was consistently excellent.

One of the highlights of our stay was our meal at the SAKURA restaurant. The dining experience there was absolutely exceptional — the flavors, presentation, and service were top-notch, making it a memorable part of our trip.

Overall, I was very impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay here again during my next visit to Delhi. Highly recommended!

At this property, the staff treated you like you were royalty. They were so kind and so wonderful from the man cleaning my room to the front desk to the servers. The room was clean. The pool was nice. The food was excellent. The massage treatments were fantastic. All in all we think this is an excellent properly. We would highly recommend it if you’re coming to Delhi and want to be treated well and staying a nice place with fantastic amenities.

Had many issues, cable/tv did not work well. It runs off an old cable system, audio would cut out and had call service twice. TVs are computer monitor sizes.
Hot water stopped working all together, no running water twice over two days.
Restaurant food is average to poor quality.
Our room smelled like mildew, however another room we visited did not.
Overall the hotel needs updating.

Overall good experience. Had issue with bath tub drainage but it was taken care of within minutes. Staff is great especially in dining. Thank you Stephen, Sunil, Anil and the guy who made eggs in the morning. Lots of Food options. We were early for check in but Rakesh accommodated us as quickly as they could. Will stay here again.
