We stayed at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, for six nights to celebrate my mother’s upcoming 75th birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience.

Arya at check-in was superb, warm, and welcoming. As the room we’d booked wasn’t available, he upgraded us to a Club Room, which was absolutely fantastic. The room was spotlessly clean, modern, and very well-maintained throughout our stay. The Club Lounge was also exceptional, with great food and service, and the staff ensured we were happy at all times.

The hotel even arranged a birthday cake, which was a very kind touch. Anil from housekeeping on the 22nd floor did a phenomenal job; he kept our room in pristine condition and went beyond expectations, always checking in to see if we needed anything.

From start to finish, it was seamless. On any future visit to Mumbai, we’ll definitely stay at Taj Lands End again.

If I could give a 1/2 star more, I would.
Taj Lands End provides a level or service and comfort that makes arrival to Mumbai effortless. We upgraded to Club Level which provided airport pick up and access to a private breakfast, tea and happy hour lounge. This is an elevated perk. Staff are attentive and food is very good.
Our only issue was the strong scent of Jasmine throughout the building. While the scent is lovely in the Lobby we noticed our room was located by a 'scent dispenser' so we smelled it constantly.
We will be back!

Room and staff was fine. The hotel was very crowded, did not feel like five star hotel, at best three stars. Breakfast buffet was like a zoo. No proper seating available, had to ask for service several times. Outside the hotel is a big slum on the seaside. No proper place to walk. Hotel staff seems to be unhappy as they mentioned that they are really unhappy with the employer.

Rooms were spotless,all staff extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast is surely something to behold all manner of sweet and savoury delights, the idlis were particularly good served with sambal and the dosas were delicious with a lovely fluffy potato fillings.I’ve never been away at Christmas time before,the Taj had a magnificent tree and presents in the foyer with Christmas lights.They even laid on a Christmas parade with Santa on a motorcycle!! Stayed for 2 nights on the 19th floor. While the lobby and service areas are great, the rooms are very dated and need a deep clean. My room had dirty furnishings (sofa and curtains) and a very soft bed.

We did book a car to take us around some sights for a few hours, the driver was excellent and very courteous. The safest I felt in a car during my stay, so thank you Shailesh.

All in all, an average hotel with premium prices.

The bathroom had a great shower but smelled quite bad, as did the hallways on my floor. In-room dining was also a letdown. The food was average at best and arrived cold. Not the premium experience I was looking for (or paying for).

• Room Cleanliness: The room was not up to Taj standards - it was dusty, dirty and generally unclean.
• Hotel Maintenance: The overall property appeared poorly maintained, giving the impression that there may be insufficient funding allocated for upkeep.
• Breakfast Service: The food was tasteless, and despite empty tables being available, we had to wait in long queues each day which was very inconvenient.
However, I want to specifically recognize Mr Chouhan, Housekeeping Manager, who was outstanding. He went above and beyond to address our concerns, did everything possible to keep us comfortable, and was the key factor in maintaining any sense of guest loyalty during our stay. His dedication to customer satisfaction is commendable and sets an excellent example for the team.
I hope these issues can be addressed to bring the property back in line with Taj's usual high standards, while ensuring staff like Mr Chouhan are acknowledged for their great work.

Bad experience . Room was not clean for 2 time . After complaining they told us this property and the glass we have is dated to 2003 manager told me when they purchased the property 2003 never upgrade rooms . Paid top dollar . Then I can pay $1100 Indian rupe pernight to have clean room .

General service is good but the hotel is very crowded and we had to ask for service at breakfast. Lobby was crowded most of the time. Rooms were good. This is a poor man’s five star hotel. At best 3 star hotel. It is crowded at reception desk. People are yelling on hotel staff as rooms are usually not ready when promised. The breakfast is busy with some service. Staff is helpful and efficient but not enough for number of guests at the restaurant. Feel sorry for the staff as they are constantly running around to keep guests happy. Management does not know how to handle the hotel. I would not recommend staying there. Find a decent 3 star hotel instead. These guys charge a lot of money and try to extract more from you on every step of the way

I stayed here for 3 nights just one week before Christmas and I was stunned by how beautiful the festive decorations were in the lobby area. The hotel itself is spacious, beautifully furnished, and the food at the 3 restaurants is excellent. The complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and cocktail hour at the Club Lounge was also excellent. The staff were efficient, courteous and always smiling.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

1. I booked our stay starting Nov 22 (checkin date) till December 7 (checkout date). I informed the hotel that my wife will checkin in the morning of Nov 23 but I am paying for the previous night so the room will be ready when she arrives at 9 AM on the 23rd. The hotel sent me message saying that they can't guarantee unless we pay for the first night. We did. But after all that drama, the hotel failed. When she arrived on 23rd, the room wasn't ready!
2. I stayed at the hotel in 2005. The telephones in the room, which don't work properly haven't been upgraded since then. While the telephones haven't kept up with the times, the room rates have!

It's the little things that count with Taj. Had the opportunity to stay at the Taj Lands End for a week. Its my favorite hotel to get away and refresh. An amazing location walking distance to the Bandstand with lots of character. Shah Rukh and Rekha's house is also walking distance and gets lots of traffic especially SRK's 'MANNAT' house.

The hotel staff is exceptional and it shows from the moment you enter the hotel. You're treated with class and respect throughout. I hardly get to remember peoples names but exceptional and over the top service gets top praise always.

We booked the Club level to participate in the evening and daytime fun snacks. From Tushar at the Reception area, accommodating us to the most amazing room to Deepak our room attendant who made sure every ammenity was restocked to the T. Hats off to Deepak for attention to detail. He is my go to Room Attendant at the Taj Lands End. Ask for him and take care of him. good guy!

The breakfast is exceptional... Everything is available if its not already laid out in the buffet area. Opens at 7 am. Great way to start your day... The seating area that overlooks the Bandstand at the higher level is nice if you don't mind the walk back and forth to the buffet. FYI - if you want Kulche let them know a day in advance. Puri is always available. Masala Chai is amazing.

One suggestion would be to make the SAUNA and SPA area larger, like a entire whole level larger. Make that the GO TO feature. Thanks!

This is one of the worst Taj properties I have visited. The decor and furnitures are outdated. The rooms smell. Who in this day and age has pink floors and doors? I complained and their response was that this is an old property and is not being maintained! If you cannot maintain then close it!

Will never stay at this place again and will make sure to tell all my friends to stay away.

It is really sad that the property in a nice location and they just ruined it by failing to maintain it and keep up with the times. They are totally ruining the great reputation of Taj.

It was truly a five star experience. If you are going to Mumbai, and want to be taken care of by some of the best, friendly, helpful and purely nice people, this is a great resort. A special shoutout to the staff at the 21-club - I received so much advice and helpful suggestions! If you want to have a great time - and live it up - stay at the Taj. Disappointed with my Taj stay this time. The rooms were not cleaned properly and the property seemed like it needed updating overall. The famous Taj hospitality and going above and beyond for guests also has seemed to vanish. Simple housekeeping/ guest services requests couldn’t be met, it was surprising to hear “no” from the staff on several occasions. Check in was a disaster on a busy rainy weekend with no help to carry heavy luggage. Overall a very below average experience which is sad because I am a Taj loyalist but will probably find another hotel to stay at during my next visit to India

Quite disappointing. Extremely displeased. I had thought a 5* hotel like Taj everything would be like clockwork. But it was poorly handled. The only nice thing was an upgrade to suite level based on my Mom's neuropathic and quadriplegic condition. After this, the butler services had to argue about the same thing every morning for over half hour -two three managers each day it took to get a breakfast delivered to the room for a diabetic critically-ill patient on two days taking ten different tablets, nebs and other service to be performed. It was so very exhausting after two months of hospital/ICU, I thought finally at Taj 5* we'll get some peace and quiet. The housekeeping staff left the door open and could not get a comforter and bedsheets for well over half hour letting my Mom shiver at night. While doing my bed, the housekeeping staff in the morning yesterday got extremely close to her knowing she cannot move. It was so disgusting to watch I had to yell at him to stay back. Then, the waste of time talking the same thing to ten different staff and managers - disturbing us, and creating a lousy experience for us at Taj. The constant knocks and doorbells - one housekeeping staff even attempted to enter the room while we were there. The dinner served that I had paid for was in bowls like katoris and they said only one dish per person (not buffet). Then, the butler service threatened me with security when Mom was having a medical issue. The extra bed was not made.

Underwhelming Experience

Having stayed at multiple hotels in Mumbai over the years, this was one of the more underwhelming experiences. Check-in was extremely slow. We were asked to wait in the lounge for our room, but staff were unwelcoming and often absent. No one updated us when the room was ready, and after waiting well past the expected time, we had to track someone down — only to feel like we were inconveniencing him. Thankfully, another staff member eventually helped, but it still took another 30 minutes before we got to our room.
The room itself was spacious and well-designed — definitely the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The snacks and drinks in the lounge were far below the standard I’ve experienced at other hotels. I wouldn’t pay to upgrade again.
The Wi-Fi was another major issue. Even the paid premium internet constantly cut out, making business calls frustrating and nearly impossible.
While a few staff members were professional, most lacked the attentiveness and polish you’d expect from a property in this category. Compared to the warm, seamless service at The Oberoi or The St. Regis, this fell far short. I wouldn’t return.

They accommodate 3 people in a twin room, using a rollaway bed- this takes up space in the room and makes it very inconvenient especially if there are multiple large bags. We did not know this when the booking was made - I didn’t see that explicitly mentioned. The twin beds are pretty small and the room is not very big either.

I did not know you needed a special room to use the roof top pool, so that was a disappointment. Also there was not a good place to watch sunset unless you were club level. All was good but not great. The pool chairs had old cushions with way too much bird poop. It said no cameras but 5 people were shutting something for instagram right beside me. Evening buffet was nice. The breakfast buffet - the food was good but it took 25 minutes to get my eggs, i went to get a latte all the cups were dirty, no one was clearing tables so dishes were piling up. The view at breakfast was good. They were just way under staffed.
The bunnies and turkeys were fun. Overall is was ok. We expected more from the Taj.

This is a great place to stay with a very upscale feel. It is located in a very congested neighborhood. The check-in process is very chaotic.
