Even though the room is spacious, there are some roaches roaming around when you’re out of the room. The staff are accommodative. I really appreciate one staff that helped me to roam Saigon. I’ve tried some of the Vietnamese foods through her. The thing is you need to have Google Translate to communicate to the staff.

I stayed 15 evenings so had a thorough experience of this hotel. Even though this place is right by Benh Thanh Market (which is a very busy area) my room was quiet. Understand though that I was facing the back of the building.
I like the staff here, they were all very friendly and helpful and attentive.
You might see some comments in other reviews about the conditions of the building (rooms/hallway need a coat of paint, elevator maintenance, bugs sometimes--which is common anywhere in SE Asia even at the Hilton--etc..) but for the price you pay for the convenience you get and the friendliness of the staff I'd say this is a good value hotel.

Room was meant to be luxury as i paid for. Paint off walls, cables for tv hanging out everywhere. Ants on walls. They have a flask but no kettle. If you want hot water for a tea call reception they bring it to your room for your flask. Breakfast ansolutely shocking. A sandwhich with no drinks. We asked if we could have at least a tea. They said at extra cost wow. The only plus on this hotel is location. Fantastic location. About 30 other hotels on the same street. Use them id suggest.

Unfortunatley, once i got into my room, i was disgusted...it smelled like mold, i could t breathe, could t sleep, got soar throat from tryingv to sleep, never slept..dirty all the way around, bed lumpy, filthy...dont waste your time..spend few more dollars and go somewhere else

Great location only a minute from Ben Thanh market area. The room is very clean, decent size, and comfortable. The reception staff were friendly and organised our bus to the Mekong. We previously stayed here in June and will be back.

The staff were friendly, check-in was easy, location is close to everything but not loud. We stayed in 803 (mid-size room of their 3 options), nice size, bed reasonably soft for Vietnam, A/C, wifi, and shower good. We left some of our bags with the reception for a few days whilst in Hue and returned for 2 more nights before we returned home. Will be staying again later in the year when we're in HCMC.

the happy land hotel is located at a very convenient spot, walking distance to all the sightseeing places. The staff are polite and nice but speaks limited English. Travellers like me who don’t want to give taxi scam a chance could choose this hotel, it’s very easy to reach from the airport by public transport.

We stayed 3 nights here before heading home from 3 weeks in Vietnam. The location was the best part - it's down the street from the Ben Thanh Market and food market and it was less than 10 minutes walk to two different craft beer breweries. (East West is down the street and Pasteur is not far)
The room was tidy with ornate white furniture. The bed was somewhat comfortable. The air con worked but sometimes smelled like cigarette smoke so we had to open the window. Our room was at the back so relatively quiet. We could hear everything in the hall though, very loudly.
Breakfast was fine. There were always a few options with fruit.
We didn't interact with staff very much but they were pleasant when we did. They let us store our bags for our late flight. Overall, it was ok but we wouldn't likely return. Probably decent value for money (but we didn't see other hotels nearby to compare.)
(If you stay, do not go to the spa next door - terrible. The girl was on her phone during the foot massage and even stopped the massage to type stuff into her phone several times...)

I checked-in in the afternoon with my family and several large suitcases. There was no one to help us with the cases up the stairway entry to the hotel except the tiny girl that was working the front desk. She was the only person working the front of the hotel and was required to handle all the ins and out. She did provide good service to us but she was also handling a few other guests at the time and just seemed to have too much in her plate.
The room we stayed in was a large family room with 3 King beds. It was fine but the bed linens were not the best and the white bathroom towels were grey. Definitely not as nice as the photos.
The breakfast buffet was horrible, there was hardly any food and it was poorly made. We just went out to eat instead. I would not recommend this hotel because it seems poorly managed, having very little staff and not week kept.

Overall experience is very good. Like most other hotels, the location of this hotel is great and accessible to many tourist sites by walking (walked to ben thanh market, food street, independence palace, post office, cathedral, bitexco tower, saigon square etc) so as to avoid being trapped in the traffic by cab.

Great hotel to stay in Ben Thanh area, beautiful renovated bedroom and bathroom. Buffet style breakfast. 50 meters walk to Ben Thanh market. Down side is the stairs walking up to the reception, no porter to assist with luggage. Definitely will be back again. Room 701.

I stay at the Happy Inn every time I am in HCM, it is quite central and the staff are pleasant. The breakfast has only a small selection but is fine for its purpose. Gets a bit boring if you are staying for some days. The rooms are acceptable. some times I am given a room with no window although this is not stipulated in the hotel information. I jump up and down a little and they move me.
In a nut shell the beds are good, the rooms clean, hotel reasonably new and price is good value. I would let my family stay there.

The hotel located at a convenient location, about 1 minute walk to Ben Thanh market, restaurants are everywhere. If you stay further away from main tourist area, you will ended up paying for taxi. The staff were friendly. They have safety box, security cameras on hallways, laundry service, 2 elevators. It would be a fantastic experience if there were no bugs in the room. However, what I didn't like was there were ants and mosquitos in my room that bite me. Ants were everywhere.. on bed, countertops, restroom. This was very unpleasant. Other than that, it would had been a better experience.

Happy at the Happyland Hotel....
Overall a great stay. Staff was outstanding and all spoke english at some level. Bed ma ttress was very hard. Great for my back, but may not be for others. This was a standard room. I will definitely stay there again.

Given the standards set by other hotels in the area, Happyland was distinctly lacking. The staff were as helpful as possible and cleanliness was never an issue, BUT . . .

. . . the breakfasts were abysmal. Pre-cooked eggs, \"plastic\" bread, and commercial noodles were pretty-much the only options. On one day, only pho was available (nothing else)!! Given the availability (and minimal cost) of fresh fruit, freshly-baked bread and authentic noodle dishes throughout this area, there can be no excuses. It should not be possible for an old lady at the side of the road outside the hotel to provide an infinitely better breakfast than the hotel kitchen. Get your act together, management!

If you want to see the buzzing street with real action and people. This is the place to be. Hotel is run quietly by Japanese boss with Japanese breakfast-minimalist! You can forget it. I prefer 1 USD Pho at Pho24 30yards away. It's walking distance to the whole city to see how people live and you will see real Vietnam on your door step 24 hours a day yet the hotel is the Oasis in that. Rooms are good if go for ensuit and luxury. There is free PC with internet in the room but all set up in Japanese. Staff are very friendly esp those 2 beautiful girls in the reception.

I booked two rooms for my family. For the price I paid comparing with similar hotels nearby, I am quite happy with this hotel. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Only complaint is the bed is rather hard which is one of the common complaints by most of their guests. It would be more comfortable if they use a softer bed or add a layer of bed padding. The room is pretty clean and the condition is good. The buffet breakfast is just ok. It will be nice if they have more varieties. This hotel is just one block away from Bến Thành market so it is great for those who want to shop. There are also plenty of restaurants within short walking distance. I also managed to arrange for some tour packages with tour companies nearby.
