This was our second stay at NLH Kerameikos, and there’s a good reason we came back. The location is fantastic, making it easy to walk to countless restaurants, cafés, bars, and many of Athens’ main attractions.

The rooms are modern, spacious, and well designed. We had a room with a balcony this time, and the views across the city were superb. The air conditioning was excellent and very welcome in the summer heat.

The only downside was the bathroom. It was quite small, with a cramped basin area, although the shower had great water pressure.

A special mention to the housekeeping team. Our cleaning lady was an absolute gem, always smiling, friendly, and she kept the room spotless. The reception staff were also warm, helpful, and professional throughout our stay.

Breakfast was the only real disappointment. On our first morning we went during the last hour of service and it was chaotic. We tried again much earlier the next day, and the experience was far better. If you book breakfast, go early. That said, with so many excellent cafés nearby, we’d probably skip the breakfast option next time.

Overall, another excellent stay. Great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, and we’ll definitely be back.

Stayed one night in Athens, and for a quick overnight it worked out fine. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location made it easy to get around the city. Guest service was adequate but not especially warm — check-in and any requests were handled without issue, but there was nothing that stood out as attentive or memorable. For a single night, I’d say it’s a reasonable choice. For a longer stay, though, I’d look elsewhere, since the lack of personal attention would likely wear thin over several days.

Room smaller and different than photos. Especially bathroom and shower. Water went everywhere. However was clean and modern. Staff efficient and reactive. Good location. Close to metro stations and good restaurants. Artistic vibe & neighborhood. AC was controlled centrally; not the best if you like selecting the appropriate temperature for yourself. They were able to adjust that for me so I could control it myself which I appreciated.

This is a fine hotel. The staff is friendly, it has a lot of amenities, and the breakfast is fantastic. My only complaint is that the mattress was topped with a 7-10 cm foam pad, which made it far too soft for a comfortable night's sleep.

The staff were very cold. There were zero amenities other than one small tube of body lotion fur out three day stay. Toilet paper rolls were almost empty when room was cleaned and every day we had to ask for toilet paper. Do not recommend this property at all.

The rooms were very nice and clean. They were small, we had 2 suitcases and no space to open them. The bathroom was also very small. The deck was a nice feature, we could see some of the Acropolis from it. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and helped us get taxis. Please use the hotel for all taxis or you may get scammed and pay too much, especially from the airport.

It's quite out from the busy area but still closed to everything, like where to eat, a few minutes walk to Monastiriki Square where busses and shopping where all happening. Our room at the 5th floor had a decent size and a view of a mountain of Acropolis.

The staff was very warm and welcoming and the accommodations were comfortable and modern. Our Acropolis view suite was amazing! Imagine a close up view of the Parthenon (all lit up) every night when you go to bed and right there every morning when you wake! We had that view! The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the Agora, the Acropolis, and other historical and cultural sites, as well as restaurants and shopping. They have a coffee bar in the lobby and serve a nice breakfast every morning. Our suite was serviced regularly and always clean and fresh.

We really enjoyed our stay at NLH Kerameikos. The location was great and put us within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to see and do. The room had just the essentials of what we needed, which suited us perfectly. The staff was super friendly and genuinely made the stay worth it. We were also happy that the room got really cold, which we loved after long days out exploring. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting Athens.

Had Acropolis View suite. Early check-in thanks to Expedia Platinum.
Big wraparound balcony, amazing views. Room not very big; massive king size bed, which was very comfy, but took up most of the room. Couldn’t turn AC off - it was pretty noisy.
Two half litre bottles of water left in fridge every day was a bonus. Good quality coffee but why do little creamer?
Local area a bit run down but obviously being regenerated - NLH and another modern hotel opposite ( with nice bar & garden and fantastic cocktails - try the Devils Gun!!), bar “Lokali” around corner had a lovely vibe, good drinks & service, popcorn and a great garden.
You’re 10 minutes walk from Monistiraki station (direct metros to/from airport) 3 minutes from a Souvlaki place that had a permanent queue of locals & tourists waiting for tables & take-away, 5 minutes walk from Psirri neighbourhood and Ermou which are absolutely chock-full of quality bars and restaurants that are nicer and cheaper than Monistiraki. Market is close by on Athinas as are some good charcuteries etc.
In 2-3 years Karameikos will likely be a real hotspot for travellers and locals. Today it is generally a bit rundown with a few bright spots…which makes it excellent value in Athens city centre.

The room was so hot and I was not given any benefits. I chose VIP access and nothing special was provided. My husband also dealt with an unhelpful desk agent on one night. Other nights, we had a good experience with the night staff. The room was SMALL and there was not a lot of privacy in the bathroom (smoked glass and a big gap. But it was very clean.

It's in a good location about 10 mins from the centre. Staff were super friendly and helpful. While the staff were friendly, and the hotel looked fine, the room was absolutely not good. Size and cleanliness ok, but zero privacy! Insight from two internal windows along the corridor, and the small external window behind the bed had insight from very nearby buildings. Only option was to have the blinds permanently down. Also light comping through all night via the internal windows, no soundproofing contrary to advertisement. Can not understand anyone rating this high! Privacy has ZERO to do with economy !!

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing and far from what I expected. From the moment I arrived, the experience felt stressful rather than welcoming. One member of staff was particularly rude and unhelpful, which set a negative tone for the visit.

That said, I would like to give full credit to Ms. Sofia for her excellent service. She was professional, courteous, and genuinely attentive — the only highlight of an otherwise unpleasant stay.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience did not meet even basic comfort standards. The breakfast selection and quality were below expectations. The room’s air conditioning was switched off, making the room uncomfortable. Additionally, the room was poorly insulated and not soundproof at all. Traffic noise from outside, the sound of wind, and general street noise could be clearly heard despite all the windows being closed. To make matters worse, noises from the neighbouring room — including toilet flushing and shower water running — were easily audible.

Overall, the stay did not justify the price paid. It felt like a complete waste of money, and I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience.

Room was uncomfortable. Big but with the worst possible layout so that you somehow had no space for luggage. The bathroom was way too small and had no counter space to put toiletries. Or even sufficient towel racks for 2 people. The shower was missing a door so no matter what you did the bathroom would flood whenever you showered. The gym was terrible—half the equipment did not work. And the equipment that did jittered so much under you that it felt like it would collapse any second. They also don’t provide anything to clean the equipment before or after use. Overall I would not recommend this hotel. Very poor value for price. The property is not set up

The evening concierge was wonderful. She provided a lot of information and assistance and offered great recommendations. She really improved our experience. The room was good. It was large and well organized. The balcony was nice giving us a place to have an evening cocktail or a morning cup of coffee. Unfortunately, the light on the balcony was directly in line with the bed and it could not be turned off. We could not open the windows to appreciate the nighttime breezes or enjoy the morning sun. We had to keep the drapes fully closed to blind the obtrusive light. What a waste.

Great, reasonably-priced hotel within walking distance of most of the action in Athens! My wife and I walked to the Parthenon from our hotel, then after dinner ventured to Ermou Street before returning to our hotel late. The hotel has really tiny elevators - you barely fit with any luggage - but that's not a huge deal to me. The room was small but clean, and had a little balcony that overlooked the street below. The staff was very friendly and helpful! For the price, we'd definitely stay here again in the future!

We booked this hotel for a 1 night stay in Athens post cruise. The staff, were welcoming and helpful, great continental breakfast on offer (13€) our room was large with a small balcony and we could just see the Pantheon. Our room was clean and had a lovely big comfortable bed, good bathroom.
It’s only a short walk into the main sights, many restaurants etc. The surrounding area looks a bit scruffy, but after driving round Athens on the hop on hop off red bus, it seems a lot of Athens is like this. We felt very safe both day and night when out and about. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Athens for a longer stay.
