Excellent location for cruise ship passengers, 10-minute walk to the terminal. Good fitness centre. Not so many restaurants or shops nearby. But walkable to the Bund.

Rooms arrangements was unacceptable. Reservations was made for 2 rooms but was assigned to 21 & 12 floors which required a different access cards. Such arrangements created significant inconvenience for my elderly parents who needs assistance. This set up made it difficult to support them and caused unnecessary stress for our stay.
Your staff gave reasons as too many tour groups over weekend that made reservations 2 months in advance. My reservation was made 3 months in advance.

Concierge lady was not friendly and nor welcoming, but did successfully checked us in. Even after we asked for a room cleanup, we still saw an old towel and some dirt on the floor. Otherwise, view from room was good - had a good view of the bund, though not the Pearl tower.

I guess the front desk staff can be more friendly and helpful. And hard to reach the concierge from room. You won’t get to see full the bund view if staying at lower floor. So just take note .

My family chose this hotel specifically because we wanted a room with a view of the Oriental Pearl Tower. Even though we arrived earlier in the day, we requested a room with a better view, and the front desk told us this could be arranged. However, when we checked in later that evening, we were assigned a room on a lower floor, where the view of the Oriental Pearl Tower was blocked by the building in front.
We went back to the front desk to explain the situation, and were eventually told that only one room was available for adjustment. During this process, a female staff member at the front desk openly criticized the staff member who was assisting us, saying that the room should not be adjusted, and this happened directly in front of us. Having stayed at many hotels, this was the first time we experienced such unprofessional behavior at the front desk.
If the hotel had clearly distinguished between high-floor and low-floor rooms at the time of booking, this arrangement would have been understandable. However, it was difficult to accept being placed on a low floor, followed by an unpleasant service experience after raising the concern. Shanghai offers many hotels with river views and views of the Oriental Pearl Tower, and next time we will choose a different one.

I stayed on the 30th floor facing the river and the view as spectacular facing the river bend. It is a beautiful property and well maintained with great service. Staff is polite and attentive. I also received the club level services where i receive complementary breakfast, afternoon snake and lite fare for dinner. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable 6 -day stay.

Over all a bad experience, the persons in the reception could not speak English and the one who did it was very complicated to understand her English. I would expect this from a hotel that was a Chinese franchise, but the Hyatt is an international franchise! I was also not give. The room I payd for with view over the Perl tower but partially if I was very very close to the window I could see it not like in the photos that u can see it as u enter the roomm

The English level of pretty much all the staff was close to non existing (even for basic words) making this hotel less convenient for non Mandarin speaking visitors. Unfortunately, the service level was also not very quick - checking in to our two rooms took more than 15 minutes; despite what should have been a standard procedure, the staff seemed unprepared and lacking training.

Beautiful, modern and spacious rooms, great location and prime accessibility to the Bund and Nanjing Road. The street outside was very clean, no street noise and very safe and secure. The hotel also features a rooftop bar and restaurant with almost panoramic views of the Bund / Shanghai City.

Happy anniversary at Hyatt on the bund

Staying at Hyatt on the bund was a wonderful experience. The room has a nice view over the pearl tower and the river. In addition, hotel prepared a cake and special juice at the room for our parents' 50th wedding anniversary. We were so happy and deeply appreciated this hotel's excellent service. THANK YOU SO MUCH, HYATT ON THE BUND! Restaurants are very refined and other facilities are also pleasant to use. I strongly recommend to stay at this hotel if someone is planning to visit Shanghai.

We had to move rooms twice because the rooms were dirty.

The first room the carpets/floor hadn't been cleaned, there was crumbs of food all over the floor and on the chair within the room. We informed the front desk, who were actually very good, and were told it would be cleaned by the time we were back from a walk. It hadn't been cleaned some 5 hours later so they move us.

The second room was the same but also had hair in the sink and bath where the room hadn't been cleaned. Again, I complained and 45 mins later they moved us.

The last room was good but the air-conditioning was not good enough considering the current temperature in Shanghai. I guess they use power saving at night to reduce their costs and so during the night is got warmer and warmer till around 7 when it started to feel cooler again.

Overall, the hotel is tired and in need of renovation. I would say it's not worth the money it cost.

Poor service great facilities, views and location

Service was quite poor from the door. My family had 5 large suitcases and some bags but we waited for a while for a bellboy or any staff at the entrance of the hotel. Had to go in and ask the person checking temperature to help and bring a trolley as well. Later, one of the staff came to help luckily but did not expect this from a five star hotel since every other hotel we have been in SH or else where had great luggage service. I told the staff at reception about the luggage situation and was totally ignored.

The only saving grace was the view of the bund, the bar and the facilities: swimming pool and hot tub. Staff at the fitness facilities were super friendly.

Hotel with fabulous views, great restaurant with Sunday champagne brunch and excellent club service. My only complaint is that the ac in restaurants and club lounge is poor- a much mentioned complaint so I’m surprised still not rectified.

The view was beautiful although the shape of the building allows you to view inside other guests rooms and them yours. The bed was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and beautiful. The carpet, chair and other decor were in need of a good cleaning or replace them to update. The room temperature was very warm. We tried to turn the heat down and off, but it was very warm all night. Hotel bar is has an amazing view with many cocktails choices and a short list of food options. The pool and locker rooms were bright, beautiful and spacious, but you must have a swim cap or purchase one for 120rmb.

Very good food, breakfast and Happy Hour offerings were delicious, free drinks for Happy Hour if you book club rooms. However, view from the club rooms to the skyline is not the best. Great location. Overall the Hotel needs a deep renovation - mediocre condition of rooms and public areas do not make you feel like 5 stars.

Walking distance to the Bund, major shopping areas and short taxi ride to the beautiful Yu Gardens. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful! 아래가 공사중이어서 29층임에도 밤에 소음때문에 잠들기 어려웠습니다.
그리고 용접 불빛때문에 창문을 열어놓고 잘 수도 없었습니다...
조식도 너무 맛이없어서.. 서비스 빼고는 별로였습니다.
특히 화장실에서 찌린내가 너무 심하게 나서.. 다음엔 다시 안가려구요

Good view of the Bund from our room. Spacious & consistence good services from reception, to room services, restaurants, bell boy, etc. Except amenities in room. Tea & coffee were not replenished. And basis items are not provided unless you request. Housekeeping needs improvement, We check out for a night to travel to Hangzhou but requested to stay in the same rooms which the reception kindly agreed.
When we check in one night later, the tea & coffee was not replenish and a plastic bag we left behind accidentally in the coffee making cabinet was not cleared. Otherwise our stay was excellent.

Called in two days prior to my arrival and asked about the construction noise. I was told they stop at 10 pm - a lie. Construction noise is 24-7, impossible to get a good night sleep. I cancelled the second part of my stay and moved to a quiet hotel.

Disappointing stay

The room view was amazing. But other than that the check in was slow. There were a lot of things in the room that did not work properly like switching on the lights and the shower and bathtub there was also problems. In the bathtub you could only use the shower head and not the tap to fill it up. Because the switching mechanism was broken. We also decided to order room service. The food was among the worst we have tasted in China, in our 8 years of living here. And considering a hotel like Hyatt in Shanghai preparing such poor Chinese food, was disappointing. Compared to the price as well the standard of the food was very poor. After this experience we will definitely not be returning to Hyatt on the Bund again.
