This hotel scammed us. Let me first start by saying I don’t write reviews ever but I hope this helps someone else not lose their money or have to stay in an unsafe situation. We arrived at 11pm after driving for hours and upon arrival we pulled up to the front which looked like a back ally way. The door was locked so I called and was told they would come let us in. Walking in , the place was a disaster and completely under construction. I was reassured that the room would be fine. I had booked a king and double bed for myself, boyfriend and 3 little kids. We opened the elevator and there was ripped plastic skirting jaggedly hanging off the elevator walls and drywall all over it. My kids began crying saying they were scared. Walking down the hallway to the room, there were crosses on the doors, the doors were all open and it seemed that most of the hotel was vacant. Dry wall again , all over the floor of the halls and leading into the room. The room itself only had one bed. We seen the room and left. We were not going to allow our kids to breathe in drywall dust all night and felt unsafe. I asked for my money back at the front desk but was told to request it back from Expedia. Expedia told me I would need to have the hotel approve getting my money back. The hotel would not answer Expedia and would not answer our several attempts to contact them. It looked NOTHING like the picture, there was only one bed and filthy. I do not recommend staying here. We want our money back!

When we arrived my was lready charged. The front desk manager was excellent to provide me with getting parking and room service. We asked for a suite with king beds but that was changed and my room was with one full bed with the bathroom was down the hallway and not in my room. The 4th floor was being renovated and the hallway from elevator to room had debris that could have been harmful to me as i am on a rollator with a disability. After filing a complaint i was moved to 8th floor. The walkin shower there didnt work. The manager did make me comfortable for the rest of my stay. Pics were taken as to hazard if you need them. I will not stay at this location again.

They are undergoing construction on several floors. The parking area underneath and the hallway leading to room was cluttered with construction stuff. The room was very spacious. Some electrical outlets did not work, but we made do for the 2 nights we were there. Great view of the beach from our balcony. Saw the sun rise the 2 mornings wew were there. Just beautiful!

The hotel was under construction which was not mentioned on the online booking. There were no wash clothes and limited towels because the dryer was not working. The walls had signs on them that stated wet walls. All in all the hotel looked abandoned and dirty because stuff was all over the floors, mattresses in the hall and other things. The rooms were ok the bathroom only had a half of a roll. The hotel was ok for a one night stay for adults. I would recommend taking children.

rooms was very dirty, we got stuck in the elevator, they were renovating which i feel like should have been on their booking site because i definitely wouldn’t have booked. we were supposed to stay 3 days but ended up staying 2. stoves didn’t work, microwave barley worked so we checked out and the manager was supposed to issue us a full refund and she gave us partial. i came to enjoy my weekend but that hotel wasn’t part of my enjoyment so don’t book with them and if u do good luck.

What should have been a special weekend for my daughter, who was in town for a cheer competition, turned into an extremely stressful and disappointing experience due to the poor condition of the hotel and the lack of comfort, cleanliness, and basic accommodations we were promised.
From the moment we checked in, the issues began.
Our first room was unacceptable. The bed sheets were visibly stained, which immediately raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and sanitation of the room. In addition, the room was located facing the parking garage, and we were forced to endure constant vehicle noise throughout the night, making it very difficult to rest.Because of the condition of the first room, we were moved to a second room, but unfortunately, that room was no better and created even more inconvenience. We went from having two beds to only one bed, which was not appropriate for our stay. The bed in the second room was also very uncomfortable and bowed in the middle, making it difficult to sleep and clearly not in suitable condition for guests.
The second room also had several unacceptable maintenance and housekeeping issues, including:
No running water in the kitchen sink
No towels in the room upon arrival, requiring us to go back downstairs to request them
A shower with extremely low water flow
A shower head that was not working properly, making it nearly impossible to shower comfortably
To make matters worse, the hotel was clearly under renovation, yet

It was just my husband and I, we had a king size bed with full kitchen and oceanfront. I was blessed with witnessing the dolphins swim along side the beach, absolutely beautiful! Our check in process was easy and very friendly. The manager, Shorlanda and her associates were very helpful. I didn't realize that my card had already been charged for the room and I was trying to pay in cash. Shorlanda and Shanoi quickly realized what happened and called me back in to give me my money back. Very honest and friendly staff! The hotel is under construction right now (March 2026), so please expect that when you go. Our room was beautiful! How you're made to feel upon check in can affect your whole trip, actually wanted to stay longer. Thank you to the staff for helping us have a relaxing, and enjoyable weekend! I do recommend it, and we'll be back.

Nothing went well. From walking through the door to getting in the room. Coming through the door there was construction going on from the door all the way to the back of the hotel. This was on every floor.

As far as the room, nothing was as advertised. The tv remote didn’t go to the tv. Took four hours to get the correct remote. There were only three pillows on the king size bed. The blanket was decent. There wasn’t any towels or rags in the room at all on our arrival and the service was the worst overall!

Looking at the pictures online the hotel looks like a 5 star, clean hotel with great amenities but when you arrive it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned ever plus the toilet didn’t flush unless you add water to the tank, they had a kitchenette yet not one single utensil, pot, cup unless you pay $35 to use them. As for the stove one out of four burners worked.

This place is under a complete renovation and no where on the site when booking does it state that. The photos of the place are all stock photos and this place looks nothing like them.

Construction crews everywhere, elevators sounded like they were going to crash down to the ground.

We switched rooms bc the first had no view, there was a random kid shoe we found.
The second room was a disaster. Mold in the bathrooms, broken pieces on all furniture.

3 tvs and only 2 remotes.
Phone didnt work to call the front desk.
Holes in the wall. Thin bedding, pratically a sheet only. The toilets barley flush.

Booking site listed a heated pool NONE are heated, the hot tub doesnt work, not hot at all.

This place shouldnt have guests at all.

The front desk clerk/manager (whichever title the male represents) has the worst customers service I've endured ever in life. My husband and I were traveling back to Georgia when my husband realized that he didnt have his wallet. My husband knew the last place he possessed his wallet was at Pallette Hotel, in the bedroom, on the night stand. My husband called back to the Hotel to inform the front desk male staff that he left the wallet in the room and was sure that the wallet had fallen in between the night stand and bed. The front desk male stated he would have staff go check the room and give us a call back. It took my husband and I several times to contact the front desk hotel for an update. The front desk male was ignoring our calls because he did not want to take the time to honor our request of going to the room we stayed in to verify the wallet was there, as we knew it was. We eventually called from a different number, the front desk male answers, knew exactly who my husband was and stated \"Shawn Moon, we sent staff back to the room and we didn't find your wallet\". This answer did not sit well with my husband and I. We asked a family friend, who was also on vacation in Myrtle Beach, to go by the hotel and request to check the room. When our family friend arrive, the front desk male was still there, giving her the same answer. Even saying the room was occupied. Another employee heard our request, went to the room, found the wallet exactly where we told her it would be.

we had an oceanfront room at first with two bedrooms and a pull out couch with a kitchen. when we got in our room nothing was hooked up and the fridge and oven were pulled out and the floor underneath where they sit was disgusting. Smelt like cockroach/ bug spray killer and the floors were slick with a greasy film over them. we saw baby roaches in the sink when we arrived and then several big adult roaches later on at night while we were trying to eat dinner. we got refunded and moved to a smaller non ocean front room. we were told it was a bigger room when we were moved but they informed us that it wasn’t oceanfront so that was expected, however the size of the new room was not. i’m just happy i got a full refund for the room and the staff was nice.

Worst Hotel Experience – Unsafe, and nasty

The conditions were unacceptable and far below reasonable standards of cleanliness and safety.

Upon arrival, I discovered bugs in the room, rusted bathroom fixtures, broken furniture, and unsafe equipment with exposed wiring. The air smelled strongly of mold, and nothing about the room felt sanitary or secure. These issues made the stay intolerable and completely ruined what was meant to be a relaxing vacation.

This experience not only caused discomfort but also raised serious health and safety concerns. No guest should be subjected to such conditions, and I believe the property is being misrepresented as suitable accommodations.

I went through 3 rooms before I found a “decent” one. They were remodeling just about all the rooms. Rooms were dirty. They ran out of towels and wash cloths and was told they were washing and drying and would be done in 30 minutes but we never received any. No batteries in the remote & etc…..

This was a great stay for me and my family. My teen was able to sleep in the living room on the sleep sofa and have her own space. We enjoyed our privacy and being able to have meals inside thanks to the kitchenette. Had two balconies and two really soft beds in the suite. Will book again

This property was the worst of the ones around it. To start the trip off, I had done a book now, pay later option. Luckily I was called bc they told me that if I didn’t pay the first night by 1 (can’t check in until 4) then my reservation would be cancelled.. couldn’t even find a a manager to talk to! And the lady l was talkin to about it, GOT ATTITUDE with me “I’m not goin back and fourth” LIKE EXCUSE ME! Got there, and the guy at the front desk.. ARGUED with me about it instead of letting his customer feel heard.And the place STUNK! There was maid carts in the relaxing areas and all around just below average. My room was very big but just overall outdated. Appliances are rusted. Room furniture is bulky and ugly. I’ve never wrote a bad review and I travel a lot. I made it a point to do this review..

What I liked was that the price was reasonable, staff were friendly and we had access to the beach from the resort.
What I didn't like was there were dead roaches all over the bathroom floor, the change filter light was on on the AC unit and the bath towels were stained with brown spots. After sleeping in the room for 3 nights I ended up with a sore throat and losing my voice due to breathing air that was being filtered through the dirty filter in the AC unit. Fortunately we were only there to shower & sleep each night, we did not spend much time at all in the room due to my children playing in a softball tournament all day. Pictures online are very deceiving and make the place look nicer than it was. It was disappointing.

As a result had to switch lady at the desk well it will be same as what you got, because I asked for ocean view and she states I didn’t request for ocean view. 2nd room tub drainage issue had to modify and the lights didn’t work well in the second room but we settled.

Rooms are nothing like the pictures.Its very outdated and they have the nerve to charge a deposit.What can you possibly damage.They charge for everything.A kitchen but no kitchen supplies.You have to pay for those.You pay for housekeeping to clean your room.The TV is so small.Its not enough room in the kitchen.I cleaned the room before we left and it looked better than how it looked when we got there.Im not gonna even talk about the pool area.They need to do some major changes if they want people to come back.

When I first arrived I noticed this wasn’t the place I thought it was but I still have it a try…so when I checked in I ask the front desk about out/in door pool and jacuzzi she then said that they have an outdoor pool and yes, they had a Jacuzzi come to find out. They did not clean the pool at all the whole weekend we were there the Jacuzzi was out of order. The whole building looks rundown we get into the room. There’s dirty towels from the people being for us hanging in the bathroom, molded couch, the air conditioner was leaking all on the floor, the remote to the TV fell apart, and just one more thing the curtain in front of the balcony window was hanging halfway off, which we fix that and the remote before leaving. The room floors were disgusting black on shoes and socks. Will not never come back there and will be very mindful the next time.

This hotel has alot of potential but workers need to take pride in they job. It was dark outside when I checked so I really didnt see the trash in the lobby. That need to be clean. The elevators were nasty trashy. Went to the room the hallways had a moldy odor. Went in the room I thought it said it had a pull out couch but it didnt so I went to change rooms. That room was so nasty the sheets nasty the floor had some slippery nasty it smelled. Changed rooms again still the same nasty. Changed again this time it was ok , it was clean. by this time all other hotels were booked so I had to stay and make tbest out of the weekend here with my daughter. But I will never stay again. every hallway we went too smell musty. Then when we checked no one said nothing and it was like five clean ppl standing there and nothing. I didnt see anyone clean nothing over the weekend. I seen one cleaning cart pushed on the floor that stayed in the same spot for hours. This hotel is nothing like the pictures. I wish I had pictures to post. But never again Oh! I forgot to mention the parking is across the street in a lot and they didnt mention that on the site unless I didnt see it.

WORST stay of all time!! I honestly don’t understand how this place is still running.

To begin with, the pictures are completely different from what it actually looks like. From the entrance to the room, I was completely disappointed. When I got into the room assigned for my stay, I couldn’t believe my own eyes. MOLD everywhere. A HORRIBLE smell. The place was completely DIRTY. I was disgusted and did not want to stay there. I tried everything to book a different place, but due to their policies, the second night would not be refunded.

I was given a second key to a different room, which was way cleaner than the first one, but it still smelled. There were visible signs of water damage, and the microwave seemed like it was going to catch on fire every time we tried to heat something. At bedtime, I was shivering from the cold, and there was NO BLANKET on the bed, just sheets. The bed was completely uncomfortable, and during the two days I was forced to stay (or lose my money), I slept terribly.

Downstairs, the pool area smelled terrible as well. There was a strong smell of pee, and one of the pools wasn’t working. The ONLY good thing about this place is how close it is to the beach.

First time visiting Myrtle Beach a solo trip for my birthday weekend I enjoyed every bit of it from Broadway on the beach on to the actual beach. The beautiful staff at the Palette resort was very helpful and I would definitely plan another stay there. Thank you South Carolina for a great time ❤️

I’m sorry, but my family and I have been going to Myrtle beach every year for at least 8 years. Hotel wise this was my absolute worst experience. The place states it gives you dishes for your kitchenette. But you literally have to go down to the desk and are very very limited on what they give you?! We ended up just buying what we needed at a nearby store. Let’s not forget about when we first checked in our room wasn’t even cleaned? It had ZERO towels, soap etc. there was sand in the floor (kinda to be expected in sorts with the beach) however there was also hair balls by the dining table. Not to mention when we used the stove only one burner of the four worked? They woke us up early one morning having us switch rooms due to the floor flooding. When switching rooms, they first gave us a key card to a room that literally had people sleeping inside of it?!! They fixed that giving us a new key card and room. Upon the new room it was actually very clean. Towels and all. The room over all was better the stove worked and everything. (Down fall the tv was way smaller.) OH and don’t let me forget about the pools smelling like straight up pee and was disgusting the entire week we stayed. The only “pool” clean was the small lazy river.. I can promise you it isn’t worth your money or time not even if you needed a cheap place like us this year. Look elsewhere.

Couldn't check in to hotel until 8:45 at night due to what they said was a water line break or something. No discpunt offered and in fact was denied when requested. Room was suuuuuper dirty. Hair in bathtub, handprints on mirrors, residue on muiltple surfaces. Hotel hallways and elevators smelled like portapotties, and the door to the room barely opened (it scraped against the floor).

Friendly front desk staff. They only clean the rooms once every 5 days and if you want it more frequently you have to pay a fee. The rooms were dirty there were stains on one of the comforters. The TV was broken and had to be replaced as soon as we got there. The screen door was stuck shut. There were no meals provided. The elevators stunk and were dirty. Towels had to be brought down to the front desk and then they would give you new ones. The garage had a bunch of broken equipment and trash In it. Had to go through it to access the beach or go around to end of the block. When coming back the elevator needed a code which was not provided to us so we had to walk around to the front door which felt inconvenient.

I booked the room because it had a balcony and a king bed at what I thought was a decent price. The room was gross, there was an indescribable odor, the balcony was barred up, the bed cover was stained, it was sandy under the cover, the floors were slippery, the pool looked gross, the ceiling above the bed was peeling, the elevators were dirty. All around, I will never book at this hotel again.

When we pulled up to the property there is not a big enough professional sign posted for people to find the resort. Parking is so small and tight only 4 cars at a time can pull up but have to be in and out because you end up getting blocked in or you cant get in. How they charge you for your stay is ridiculous. You have to pay if you want your room clean you have to ask for towels then exchange them out for new ones. Why is there a kitchenette in the room if you have to pay for cooking supplies and hope there are available. The hallways were so dirty our room was not properly cleaned before we arrived. We could barely open the sliding door. The screws were so loose the handle came off and we had to aak for maintenance 4 times before someone came 3 hours later. A complete failure I definitely not be returning.

Staff was absolutely terrible. Was supposed to get a refund for the first night because they put me in a room way smaller than the room I was supposed to get because of “maintenance”. When I talked to the manager he looked at me like a deer in headlights and didn’t know how to respond was supposed to get a call back for days. Every time I called they said he was on break no one stays on break all day lol. They are liars and my family had a terrible time.

We had a wonderful stay at the Palette beach resort. The staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We loved the location of our room—It was just steps away from both the pool and the beach, making it easy to enjoy the best of both worlds. Our room was clean and comfortable, with extra blankets provided for added coziness. The King bed was very comfortable and the microwave was brand new and worked perfectly. It’s also clear that the resort is making upgrades to enhance the guest experience which we really appreciate.

That said, there are a few improvements that could make the stay even better. The hallways and main floor could benefit from brighter lighting, and added lights around the pool area would make it more inviting in the evenings. Our refrigerator ran loudly through the night, which made it a bit hard to sleep, and unfortunately, our TV didn’t work even after maintenance tried to fix it. Lastly, having a designated storage space for cleaning carts would help keep the main gathering area looking tidy and welcoming

Overall, this resort offers a great beachside experience with a friendly team and ongoing improvements. With just a few tweaks, it could easily become a five-star stay.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My stay at the Palette Resort in Myrtle Beach was a complete nightmare from start to finish. The bathroom door didn’t even lock which is basic privacy and safety. The pools were absolutely filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned or maintained properly in quite some time.

What really pushed me over the edge was the blatant false advertising. The listing claimed there was a bar and grill on sit there was no bar, no grill, and no explanation. Just a flat-out lie to get people to book.

I didn’t feel safe having my family there, and ultimately had to leave and pay out of pocket to book another hotel last-minute. I’ve requested a refund and am still waiting, with no clear communication or resolution.

Do yourself a favor: Avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of better, cleaner, and honest options in Myrtle Beach

Fool me once but never again

The worst place I have stayed for that amount of money ever! We had no hot water for 2 days and my four days of stay. No utensils whatsoever in the kitchen area. No phone. No clock. Had to ask for a hair dryer. Run down dirty pool was not touched till the third day of my stay. The front desk except for the guy named Joe or rude and unfriendly. Our vehicle got broken into and they're parking lot and they said that they had no cameras for us just to call the police. I honestly could not believe that they were renting out a place for that amount of money and it that rundown and that untaken care of. Thoughts pictures on the website there was no floats for the lazy river the chairs the pool area was never cleaned up we seem beach towels lay there all week. I had high hopes for this stay but was very disappointed.

I really like the fact it was so easy to get to the beach from the property and it is very clean there .

I was a little thrown by no floats for the lazy river and I didn't have any wash rags in my room and only 2 towels and it was a room for up to 4 people .
