The two-bedroom apartment was very spacious and well-designed, with two bathrooms that made it especially convenient. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. While the breakfast was good, it could be improved by offering a wider variety of options for guests who do not eat pork or beef

The rooms were very big. Staff were friendly and helpful. Whilst the first room didn’t have aircon they did do the next best thing and put a big standing fan next to the bed, before I had to ask.

This place was so far from luxury. Extremely narrow hallways smelling of smoke. Rooms with cheap parquet and filthy upholstery and you could hear every word from the hallway. We checked out within a few hours of check in, it was so cringeworthy.

The rooms air conditioning system was out on some very hot days. I was unhappy that they didn't contact me before hand to give me the opportunity to make other arrangements. They didn't let me no until I reached the property. And then i was notified with a sign in the elevator that indicated no AC. Very unhappy stay.

Hotel with a beautiful location and exterior but outdated and poorly maintained on the inside. The rooms are extremely outdated, poor lighting that does not work well, toilets need a proper scrub, bathroom doors used as room doors in the 2 bed apartment. though the front desk staff have excellent service - Delano and Ronelle stood out.

we checked in, not a family room, asked for a family room, none was available, Bath was situated in the open where the bed is, we had our 7 yr daughter with us, no TV in the room, furniture was horrible, not comfortable at all. Although what I can say was positive was the staff members that assisted us. Luca is a great asset to your business

We'd certainly recommend staying.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay. Our room had everything we needed and we loved having the lounge space as well as the fridge and microwave. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, arranging for our taxis to the city centre and organising laundry (to pay for). Our room was cleaned and tea/ coffee/ small water bottle replaced each day. Woolworths next door was handy for snacks to take out for the day. My only negative was the bed was a bit soft for me (that's my personal preference!) Great place, lovely restaurant. We highly recommend the Colosseum Luxury Hotel.

Rooms was not as per the pictures seen online. Also no tv in room while in bed. have to sit on a seperate small couch and watch the bare minimum stations available on tv. the shower is right next to the toilet which makes everything wet inside. not very nice.

A lovely room to sleep. I got the back of the mall so no view. The hotel entrance looks grand from the pictures but it’s small and just for checkin. A small bar/coffee area as you walk in. For the price difference I would stay at the Marriott and have access to the on-site swimming pools. Colosseum does not have an on-site pool or gym. You can make use of the pool & gym at Island club which requires you to walk outside the property.
Room is spacious and has microwave which was handy.

Room was clean. Very strange layout. Lights are also very harsh (spotlights in living room). Very old equipment (tv, kettle, microwave). Nice to have a bathtub though. Staff were okay - nothing special.

We have stayed at this hotel several times over the years and by now one would think upgrades would include smart TV’s. We stayed in the Penthouse Suite and the tv in the bedroom is a 17” tv you can hardly see. There is no means of even connecting a hard drive to watch a movie or tv.
Options are 17 channels which is the lowest DSTV package available.
If they had smart TV’s you could at least log into Netflix or other streaming service.
Larger TV’s would at least allow you the opportunity to see what is on the TV.
For a penthouse suite and price they charge amenities are lacking.
The balcony wraps around and has beautiful views but you must go on the balcony in order to appreciate them as the windows were dirty.
Staff was exceptional as always and accommodating. Upgrades to rooms especially for Penthouse units is long overdue.

The toilet roll holders were loose and would have obvious to the cleaners. the fire detector was covered with wet toilet paper, which would have visible to the cleaners. i did inform reception.

Great location. Rooms are not sound proof and guests can be overly noisy at odd hours of the morning. Rooms are spacious and most of the staff are friendly and attentive. Rooms do need some maintenance. Hotel is fair value for your money.

We stayed in the penthouse suite and the main door was broken. We asked to have it fixed as it kept popping open through out the night which was very dangerous as my kids were in the room next to the door. They said they fixed it but upon further inspection the same issue kept happening. We found out at check out that the plate on the door needed to be replaced. There was absolutely no remorse from the staff and the manager couldn’t be bothered. I’ve come to this hotel for nearly 10 years and this experience brought me to the decision to never use this property again. Not just the door but the heat didn’t work so we had to sleep with extra blankets. The service was quite poor. Never returning again.

Checked in into the room with horrible smell. Apparently the shower drain was clogged, so the carpet near bathroom was soaking wet and smelled really bad. The water runs orange. Got my shampoo refilled 9 days later! Trash was never taken out, I had to leave it outside the door. The floors were dirty for most of my stay. Money were stolen from my sons diaper bag!!! Next, laundry bill for my toddler socks and shirts came almost $80, what?! They come in minimum 3 times a day to your room, knock on the door even if theres a sign dont disturb. and give you a bottle of water, then just knock to ask if everything is okay, or come in to put coffee but no sweetener. No electricity and hot water on the day of my Birthday! Means i couldn't take a shower and use coffeemaker. Beautiful views from my window was the only positive thing but i checked out 2 days early because I didnt want to be there anymore. Also, i stayed 18 days (supposed 20), I never saw new breakfast, all same every day, and some fruits were from yesterday with brown edges.

The breakfast organisation was terrible. Long queues and a rediculous wait for coffee. The room wasn’t cleaned properly and essentials not renewed i.e toilet rolls and coffee. Rubbish not removed. For the penthouse we expected a better level of service.

It's a nice enough hotel just too far away from the main attractions of Cape Town. We should have known that when we booked but on the map it looked closer. So it was taxis every time we wanted to go into Cape Town. We did use the hotel shuttle which we were told by a member of staff was free after 6pm but at checkout we were told it wasn't so had a very unexpected and costly bill to pay.

The location was great for me The food is as good and the rooms were clean. However the electric went offf often throughout the day making it very inconvenient. It stayed off for hours before coming back on. The worst part my room was clean but smiled of urine and the water was brown. In fact there was no hot water. I had to boil water in a tea pot clean. I dealt with this for 4 days. Cape Town was nice the hotel water, electric and smell made it a disaster.

Fabulous staff and warm welcome - amazing daily breakfast and yet again the staff make the hotel ! Everyone is so friendly ,accommodating and nothing is too much trouble . Rooms spacious , location of hotel great ( and quiet at night ) open parking or secured undercover , easy 5 minute walk to Canal walk shopping mall and easy access to CT and surrounds on the nearby freeways. Yet again a very pleasant stay at a great price . All The staff are 5 star 👍

Room given was a smoking and we ordered non-smoking. After some negative feedback, we were changed to a non-smoking room. Smaller room but got credited for the difference in price, and meal vouchers given. Delightfully surprised at the good service. Has been coming to Hotel for years and still one of the best in Cape Town.

The Colosseum is on the outskirts of the main city but access in is easy and it gives good links to many other areas. I stayed for a 12 day vacation and was pleased I chose this hotel.

We won't be staying in this hotel again. On arrival our room was not ready. Check in is at 14h, and the room would only be ready at 15h after a late check out. This was unacceptable to us. They then upgraded us to the penthouse suite, which was very nice of them - thank you. Breakfast was not 4* quality. There was little variety, and the trays and dishes were constantly empty. We had to ask numerous times to refill.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and very attentive. Any concerns were dealt with straight away. Its located a few minutes walk from a massive shopping complex which is a bonus. Everything about the hotel is excellent, l cant fault them on anything. If l go back to Capetown l would definately stay at the Colosseum.

Our room's air condition wasn't working. We reported it when we checked in and several times after. The response to fix it was non existent. They eventually gave us a portable air con which leaked water all over the floor because they said the hotel was full. They only offered us 400 Rand ~$29 credit towards food there after making bad service, no air, and making wife sick due to the stuffy room. This wasn't a good experience.

Large business type hotel in a shopping centre. Fine for an overnight stay after a late flight into Cape Town. Bathroom looked a little beaten up and fan stayed on all the time. So it was noisy.

Generally good service and friendly staff. In our room, there was a wooden blind behind bath tub. Unfortunately, it did not block out the light enough. So we would wake up earlier than we would like to on holiday- as the sun woke the kids up.
Booked an in house massage. It was terrible. Therapist didnt seem to know what she was doing and i came out feeling worse and more sore. Really spoilt my stay

From the moment you arrive the service are very good, I ordered room service on two occasions and the food was good. Breakfast was good but food are not replenish timeously ie. two mornings no bacon, white bread. I stayed in a Executive suite and it was very spaciousand of high standard. One morning I forgot to put out my laundry and when I phone at about 11.00 which is way past the cut off time housekeeping still made a plan to get my laundry back to me the same day. Will definetely stay there again.
