While the hotel staff were very accommodating, I encountered some issues during my stay. I had contacted the hotel a month prior to inquire about their spa services and made a booking well in advance. Unfortunately, I was informed just two days before my trip that the spa would not be available.

Additionally, I arranged for a private photographer for a photoshoot at the venue. To my surprise, I was suddenly informed of a 1.7 million IDR fee for using the space, despite the fact that I was already a paying guest. In my experience with several five-star hotels, I have never been asked to pay an extra charge for taking photos on the premises.

Property was great. They have shuttle service for the city center but you need to have vehicle for rest of the times. Far from the shops and restaurants but they have good restaurant aswell.
Be carefull with the frogs and lizards they can get into the room. Pool infront of the room was great

The Puri Wulandari is, by far, the most incredible resort we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived we were completely enchanted by the service, the views, the luxurious accommodations, the pool, the complete sense of peace the resort brings. Our villa 109 had the most breathtaking views, infinity pool, glorious outdoor shower, huge bathtub and massive patio with a canopy day bed. I cant say enough about how incredible the resort is. This stay changed our lives, quite literally. During our 15 minute complimentary photoshoot my, now fiancé, proposed and was captured so beautifully. The entire staff helped make the moment so special and shared in our happiness. We will be coming back again to celebrate with family! A truly unforgettable experience!

The place is amazing and the staff is so friendly. However, I experienced a theft there. One of the team stole $100 of my money that was placed in my back and when I reported to the management they did not take any action only giving me a free massage. I had to not clean my room consistently because I did not trust the housekeeping team anymore.

Paradise on earth!

The resort was absolutely amazing! This was our first time in Bali and wanted a hotel that was outside of the busy downtown core but still close enough to visit during the day. This hotel was beautiful and the staff was amazing. they were kind, warm and you can really tell they take pride in the location. The location has the essential Bali feel and has the character and charm that transports you to the region. The villa was private, with the most amazing view. the resort also has free shuttles everyday to Ubud centre which makes day trips so easy. We are already planning our trip back and suggest you book your stay ASAP.

What an absolute delight it was to stay at Puri Wulandari. From the moment we arrived at this beautiful setting we relaxed exactly as we had hoped for. The staff are all outstanding, honestly they are so willing to help in any way they can, it was heart warming.
The villas are comfortable and spacious with beautifully kept gardens, views etc - so tranquil.
A special shout out to chefs Made Sumayasa and Putu for the cooking class, which started with an early morning visit to the market and culminated in a delicious Balinese 3 course lunch. It was such fun and we had a ball learning from your experience. Thank you to all your amazing staff - they make Puri Wulandari very special.

Wonderful place to stay and recharge. The team here are just brilliant and so kind and went out of their way to ensure my wife and I were always treated well. Above Western prices for drinks... be warned! Restaurant best value with the Indonesian flavors which are wonderful. Western menu not well executed at all and over priced. Great value breakfast to have bundled in room rate. Villas are first rate, though a little tired. But views of the valleys from the lounge areas and private pools are the winners here.

I usually never write such feedbacks but if it has to help other travelers, it has to be true. Guys, this place is extremely over priced in terms of accommodation and then for food which is far worse than a normal food, very ironical to say this for a boutique resort in Bali, but staff is rude. We were even denied complimentary stuff in the hotel. If you do not want to ruin your trip, I would recommend you to steer away from browsing this place.

Most beautiful hotel I’ve ever seen

Absolutely blown away by this hotel. The staff were beyond accommodating, they were fun, generous and kind. Each of them knew our names and itineraries daily, asked about our adventures gave us great tips and introduced us to not only their culture but their personal lives as well. Hands down the most stunning hotel I’ve ever seen. This was a last minute booking, thanks to @hotelsdotcom as I had another hotel reserved which was not being responsive. @hotelsdotcom recommended canceling that room and booking another. After reading the outstanding reviews of @puriwulandariresort I made my new booking 3 days before arrival 😱. We were greeted with scented cool towels on our arrival, provided lunch, a small tour and escorted to our unbelievable room. @puriwulandariresort arranged all our daily activities and added complementary floating luches/ breakfasts and massages daily for booking through them. We had a blast and loved every minute and are already planning our return trip same time next year. ❤️

If you are looking for a luxurious and peaceful retreat, this is it. The staff knew us by sight and cleaned our rooms every day while we ate breakfast. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and suits a variety of tastes. They arrange anything you need at the front desk, including arranging drivers and letting us know how much we should agree to pay a driver. We had our own private pool and outdoor shower, free bottled water, and a beautiful view of the jungle. It is well worth the extra money to stay in this beautiful hotel.

Close to town, personalised service.

2 adults, 2 children (7y and 4y). Very personalised service by all staff due to the small size of the resort. We were made to feel very special every day by the staff. Unlike other hotels that often default to 'no' for requests, this resort says 'yes' to almost everything. Lots of ants and insects, spiders, lizards, frogs and small mammals around that were a little unnerving when inside the villa or on the roof. The staff light a mosquito coil every evening in the gazebo however there are gaps around all doors so be sure to wear a personal repellant too. The door gaps also meant dirt, leaves etc. came inside often. Beautiful location, exquisite views, close to a main road and near enough to Ubud for outings. A little noisy from the white water rafters on the river so not as tranquil as it looks. We took a walk down to the river, very nice to do for daily exercise. Pools are not heated so for us personally it was often too cold to swim (early August) but we did enjoy the pool daily for quick dips. Too deep for young children so they need heavy supervision when outside. Would recommend a stay to anyone. Ubud is a lovely place to stay and we miss it already.

The room was full of insects and we can barely see at night because there is not enough lights. There is no buffet at breakfast but in demand from a small menu. We complaint about the insects and the employees said that it is normal as you are in Jungle so we decided to leave 1 day before as my wife was so scared from lezard and other insects. We were surprised that they want us to pay the night we did not stay, after threatening them to put what happened on social media they accept not to pay for the night that we will not stay.

I am not one to leave reviews but after my experience I feel I must. This property is amazing and the service is outstanding. I was truly sad to leave here. The staff was so genuine, helpful and nice. I felt more at home and at peace here than I do at my own home in the US. I cannot say enough about the people who work here. It felt like saying goodbye to friends when we left. We will certainly be back. I strongly recommend this property for anyone looking to see the real Bali, the real Indonesia. If you are looking to get away from the commercialized nonsense and experience true peace and tranquility then this is the place for you. The views from the villa were exceptional - unreal! The private pool was really nice to chill out and admire the views. The staff at the resort were very attentive and responsive. They offer golf cart (buggy) pick up and return service from villa to lobby or vice versa since it is a bit of a walk. Daily breakfast was really good, they offered Indonesian, American and Continental breakfast options. The Villa had all the amenities you would expect from a 5-star resort. They offer daily shuttle service. Restaurant prices were on the higher side and they offer expensive daily activity/tour packages, something to expect from a 5-star hotel. Other than that we had an amazing stay at Puri Wulandari and would definitely be coming back :) shout-out to the hotel personnel!

The most amazing place to be...

Hidden away at the outskirts of Ubud in the Hills of Bali, this boutique hotel is opulence and luxury defined.

A limited number of luxurious villas, each with a beautifully appointed open lounge area, outdoor showers, and large infinity pool means you are enjoying every bit that your luxurious room offers.

The food is great. The service is beyond words. All staff go over and beyond expectations to ensure you have a wonderful time at Puri Wulandari.

I am a return guest, having stayed in 2012 and since recommended this place to several friends who have loved it as much as I have. I will be back.

Great villa, no iron though:)

Really needed an iron and the ironing board, which hotels.com says is available upon request. Requested 3 times from staff to be told they can not provide one, and will instead laundry/iron a few items for free to compensate. At check out they tried to charge me ninety some dollars for laundry. After I complained they discounted the bill by 50%.

Amazing views

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights during our 2 week trip to Bali and were impressed.

The villa views are insanely gorgeous. Uninterrupted views of the jungle and we even spotted monkeys in the nearby trees. You feel like you're hidden away at a secluded jungle villa.

The villas themselves are spacious. The outdoor showers are a treat. Although some villas did not seem to have full privacy as you'd hope.

The pools are clean and refreshing and definitely usable. We enjoyed many hours soaking up the sun and lounging with the views in the evening. These were pretty private but again you could see through the shades.

The rooms are clean but could probably use a sprucing up renovation soon. You can see how dated some of the finishes are but overall very clean and maintained.

The staff is fantastic. We did experience a bit more profession at other hotels in Bali but we did enjoy chatting with the staff. Sometimes they seemed a little uncomfortable but overall very kind and hardworking.

Room service was delicious and gorgeously set up.

The one complaint is the pricing of the bar cocktails. We asked the bartender to recommend a cocktail and were recommended a mudslide. Upon receiving the bill we were astounded by the $36 USD equivalent price. For ONE cocktail. The hotel seems to train the staff to recommend this as it's the most expensive thing on the menu. They did make it right by covering our room service fee (which was about $22USD for salad, pizza, and dessert so rela

STUNNING HOTEL ESPECIALLY FOR HONEYMOONERS

This place is absolutely breathtaking. I don't think I have ever stayed in such an amazing place in my whole life. From the beautiful villas which feature a private infinity pool, gorgeous outdoor terrace with jaw dropping views to the luxurious interiors - My personal favourite was the spectacular bath tub which was a huge square tub overlooking a stunning view. They clean the villas twice a day so its always immaculate and pay attention to small details such as leaving you small sweet treats and flowers for the bath tub. As we were honeymooners, they welcomed us with a lovely cake and drinks and were attentive for our every need. The breakfast was also fantastic. The only slight cons I would say are the pricing of the services and activities within the resort which are way more than if you were to book the same activities out of the resort. For example the drive into Ubud was more than a local taxi cost. But this is to be expected and also they do offer free shuttle service to Ubud at a number of times throughout the day. Central Ubud is about a 20 min drive away. Overall I would highly recommend this place, for all travellers but especially honeymooners. The highlights for us were: The view, the private infinity pool, the villa, the bathtub, the breakfast, the service, the small details, the interior of the villa .. So basically most things! Also the pool was in fantastic condition. It's simply breathtaking and I can't recommend it enough. Thank you for a great honeymoon!

Great resort with beautiful views

Puri Wulandari is exactly what it says, a 'boutique resort.' We felt like royalty staying here, our villa was perfect, it was clean and had great views of the valley. The staff were so friendly and always willing to help make your stay more enjoyable. The restaurant food was delicious and well priced. The grounds were lovely to walk around and the shuttle bus into town (about 15 minute drive) made it so easy to go shopping or out for a meal. We will definitely be staying at this piece of paradise again!

Hidden Gem in Ubud - Beautiful, Tranquil Setting!

My wife and I stayed at Puri Wulandari in Ubud for 3 nights (Sept. 24 – 27) and what a pleasure it was! We stumbled upon this gem by a chance and that too at a reasonable price, compared to other hotels in the vicinity. We stayed at the one bedroom Srikandi Pool Villa – which was one of the top most units with a great view - overlooking the tropical forest.

The resort is very well laid out with lush plants. The reception, Dining / Bar, breakfast areas - all have great locations – especially the breakfast area. Resort is situated on a hill, so walking to one of these areas gives you a bit of an exercise – but they have a prompt cart service.

The villa was decorated in traditional Balinese style. Swimming pool, outside sitting area were nice and so were the bedroom and bathroom which was large. Bathroom fixtures can be improved - hot water pressure was not very sufficient and it took ages to fill up the Jacuzzi.

Food overall was excellent – especially the breakfast was top class. One specific dish I remember was the Eggs Benedict. Every day they served some exotic tropical fruits and fresh juices. They can offer a more variety to dinner menu.

Their service was outstanding. They made every effort to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. I guess that showcased the great Balinese culture. The SPA treatment (Balinese massage) was wonderful. They also arranged for our airport pick up and sightseeing tour of the island. They also offer shuttle service to the Ubud market.

Overall our stay was really nice at the hotel but the service let our experience down alittle. The staff were obsessed with taking our room numbers when getting breakfast or dinner so they can clean your room without disturbing you which is nice however we had said to the staff we would our very early on an excursion and would be back around 10.30am. On our return from the trip we were told we couldn't access our room for another half an hour with no apology. None of the staff seem to communicate with each other. we had also had taken the opportunity to have room service at lunch on a couple of occasions and each time on return in the evening the dirty plates etc were still sitting there. Apart from the service everything else in the hotel was great, really nice rooms with great views.

From start to finish we were absolutely in love with this place. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The only area of improvement that could be made is the cocktail pricing at the bar, very overpriced but that just meant we spent a bit of time in Ubud so not so bad either.
Overall a really great place to stay and the most relaxing holiday I have ever had. Such a beautiful location and amazing people. Thank you for the fantastic hospitality!

We had the most amazing week here as part of our honeymoon. The hotel room (villa) was huge and beautiful, the staff were amazing, every guest was made to feel indivially important, we were treated like royalty, especially our butler Widia who took great care of us along with all the staff, turn down service was lovely and bedtime sweet treat and cakes were left for is everyday. Wonderful staff. Surprised that we couldn't walk to our room. The rooms are on a steep slope going down to a river that you can hear but not actually see. However, they have a very prompt golf cart service to take you from your room to the restaurant or spa.The \"room\" is much more than just a room and includes a private outdoor area with an infinity pool and a great view of the tropical jungle on the opposite bank.We recommend an early morning breakfast in the outdoor restaurant.

Awesome views of valley and forest. Excellent service. Best value when you consider hotels in the same league. Honeymooners will love it and will be pampered. Started our journey here in Ubud for 3 days for best pampering and relaxation and then moved to Seminyak and then Kuta. You will need the quitness and relaxation somehow in Bali whether you love city life or not. The private pool is just lovely with best views of the forest and valley. The kind of pool that Viceroy will have with less than 1\4 the price of Viceroy. Thanks to Widi who was always there for any requests and for always following up. If you don't know what to do or have no plans, they will plan it all for you. Rafting was great. Beautiful views and waterfall

Gorgeous villa, pictures don't do it justice!

The moment that we walked into the villa, we immediately regretted not booking a longer stay. We jumped on our phones to try to book one night longer, but the hotel had already booked up. Since we came for our honeymoon, they had the reeds hanging over the door, which indicate newlyweds are staying inside. Within moments of arriving we had our welcome drinks and our complimentary honeymoon cake. The pictures seriously don't do it justice. We had a view of the river below our villa. The front door to your bedroom leads you into the changing room area and then into the bathroom. The bathtub is filled with flowers and smells incredible. Everything about this place was lovely. The view was phenomenal. The only problem with staying longer would have been the fact that we wouldn't have wanted to leave the hotel at all. The main pool view is spectacular. I highly recommend eating breakfast by the pool. If you order breakfast to be eaten in your room, you are only allowed to choose one style of breakfast and with fewer options. My wife wanted Indonesian and I wanted Continental, which wouldn't have been possible if we ate in our room. Dinner was nice, but we tried two separate desserts and they both tasted just mediocre at best. While you eat dinner, they will tidy up your villa and turn down service. Honestly, this was by far the most incredible place that we stayed at in Bali. If you are even considering staying at this place, just do it! You will be happy that you did!

I would stay again but......

I stayed in Ubud two years ago, therefore, I was going back to a place I knew. When I read the reviews of the Puri Wulandari I noted two comments which I thought would not adversely affect our stay but did. 1) the bathroom does not have proper lighting. This could be remedied inexpensively with a magnified lighted mirror. 2) the shuttle bus to town does not run frequently enough. The previous hotel I stayed in Ubud had at least 10 shuttles a day and was closer. Because Puri Wulandari is further it should strongly consider more shuttles. The \"covered\" car standing under the entrance canopy is an immediate \"eyesore\" and should be removed. There should be consideration of breakfast service \"section\" for families with children as there was a lot of disruption from the children (running around making noise)...which the staff kept apologizing for. The private room pool was a real quiet and tranquil asset, considering the noisy children.

A wonderful resort to stay

A wonderful resort to stay in. All villas have a very nice view. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have delicious food in the hotel's restaurant, we will not forget our romantic dinner in this hotel. Really we enjoyed staying at this hotel

A beautiful retreat outside Ubud

The hotel is mainly meant for newly wed couples or older couples, so it was very quiet and beautifully nested close to paddy fields. As it is located well outside Ubud, the hotel provides a shuttle to Ubud, which is convenient.

Beautiful hotel, but a nightmare experience

My wife and I have spent the last week at Puri Wulandari, and up until last night it was a perfect vacation. Our nightmare began last night when my wife went to the hotel spa for an Indonesian Honey Facial, which was described as having only honey, cucumber, and lime. Before going in for the treatment my wife asked the spa staff twice whether there were any chemicals used in this facial, and the spa staff confirmed that only these natural ingredients would be used.

Much to our horror, half an hour into my wife's treatment she felt an intense burning sensation all over her face and even in the corner of her right eye. She asked the woman who was giving her the facial to show her what had just been put on her face, and the woman handed her two bottles containing a strong alcohol cleanser and a chemical acid peel, both of which looked incredibly cheap and as far from natural as you can imagine. As of this morning her entire face is covered in red spots and it continues to get worse by the hour.

All day I have been speaking with the hotel staff to explain the situation, and this afternoon the hotel manager spoke with my wife and I. We were scheduled to leave for Candi Dasa tomorrow morning to spend the rest of our trip at the beach, but we now have to spend the rest of our trip in our room here. We asked the manager to waive our room charge for the next three days, and in reply he said that all he could provide is a free lunch at the hotel restaurant!
