Good and comfortable.

Check in was easy. Front office staff polite and helpful. Hotel is well maintained despite its dated renovation. My room facing the river and high floor. Room is clean and carpet seem to be changed recently. King size bed is soft and comfortable.
Hotel is about 10 minutes walk to wuyangcun Station of line 5. Hotel is near local small eateries and shops.
Hotel is near the Pearl river and can take leisurely walk to Canton Tower.
Hotel has provided shuttle buses to and back from Canton Fair.

Gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pool and squash court available.

Didn't like that we can only get 4 bottles of water per day maximum. If not, it is chargeable after the 4 bottles.

A bit of cigarette smell despite that it is the non smoking level.

Deserve the price

Nice view with river and canton tower. The area is relatively silent but, still very close to Zhujiang New Town. Service is good, the staff is helpful. Hotel is aged, need renovation. Breakfast was good.

This wasn’t a good experience

Not a good place to stay if you don’t speak Chinese as they don’t seem to have any staff with at least a helpful level of English.
Still allows smoking in the rooms so the whole place smells of smoke even the non smoking rooms.
Foods average at best.
There’s no bar in the hotel so no where to relax at the end of the day.

My suggestion would be spend a bit more and stay at some of the bigger named hotels

Rented & paid for 2 nights, 2nd day morning I gone out for work, came back in the evening I couldn't enter the room with the same card/key.
Swimming pool is located outside of the hotel, very inconvenient.

Very good choice for the Canton Fair

Excellent service for to & fro travel to the Canton Fair Complex. Registration office at the hotel is so convenient for the visitors of the fair. Very good hospitality and service. The location is far away from the msrkets for the shopping. Like most of the hotels in China, the staff here also except one or two, cann't understand English. Still they manage to provide the best service possible. I will stay here for my next visit to Canton Fair.

Just about adequate, but we wont be rushing back

We were in Guangzhou for the twice annual Canton Fair and chose this place becase of the brand name that we were familiar with. My team and I were first time visitors to China. Checkin was smooth and as we were taken upstairs, we noted that one of the roms smelt like it hadn't been occupied in a while. The other rooms were ok.

Generally the hotel and its facilities were adequate for this grading. Infrastucure was solid and functional, though the decor was a bit dated. One thing we found was that apart from comfortable rooms for guests to sleep in, the hotel didn't really have any place to hang out other than that. So it was either, you were in your room or had to go outside of the hotel to relax. There is a lounge bar downstairs, but the loud music and closed environment may not be to everyone's taste. We walked in, had look around and walked straight back out.

The prices of the food and services increased dramatically once the Canton Fair started. For example, after a long flight and having arrived in the early monring hours, I missed breakfast (which closed several minutes before the 10:30 time advertised) and had to resort to a croissant from the coffee area just off reception. That cost me Y6.00. A couple of days later, the same croissant had more than doubled in price.

However, we soon learnt that almost everythng in Guangzhou goes up during the Canton Fair, especially taxi rides, so we used the Metro more and more as the days wore on.

Great Hotel.

Went to Canton Fair worked for me. Restaurant room all perfect. Had shuttle bus, currency machine in lobby. Beware of China internet Gmail, Google, Facebook are all blocked cannot use in China. I bought a China Mobile phone well worth the $100us.

Atrocious hotel for non-smokers

Overall, very bad hotel for non-smokers. Everything smells like cigarette smoke, the linens, the air, the lobby, the bath towels, the furniture.
Food is bad, tastes artificial and rubbery. Cleanliness is 5/10.

Good position within a 20 minute walk to the World Mall area, don't go the other way!
Rooms on the very top floors are refurbished, make sure you ask for the new rooms. They gave us the 12th floor and it was disgusting, we complained and were moved to the newer rooms.

I have been on previous occasions in this hotel on my business trips . Before, breakfast was included in the room rate, but now, they charge the breakfast with very high prices ! I spend more in 15 days of breakfast for 2 people that the room rate ! even when I don't consume for some days. I hope that the manager attend my complaint.

Nice Hotel close to the Canton Tower

The staff were okay, the place has a welcoming enviroment. The hotel is cleaner than I expected to be. The room was very nice. I thought of it to be one of the better ones I have stayed in. I would recommend this hotel for a nice room for the price. There are many five star hotels nearby at higher prices. I will definatly be staying here in the future.

I had a fabulous stay in this hotel. Rooms are really clean , big and well maintained. Location is amazing , you can see river pearl and guangzhou tv tower from room. It's really amazing in night. It's close to lot of shopping places like Beijing Lu .... Didn't eat much in hotel but food menu looked good.

OK experience, room nice and clean, gym OK but located in separate building, with outside passageway unpleasant in winter cold.
Chinese restaurant OK. Breakfast buffet OK.

Management rather rigid on their policies.We had to change plans, and the hotel did not accept to swap our last already paid day for another day of stay when we returned in town 3 days later.
Therefore we decided to go elsewhere for next stay.

Stay was comfortable, hotel needs renovation!

The location is very good and the surroundings very beautiful, the bellboys were all very helpful and cooperative having said that the front desk was not so accommodative when I saked for an extended checkout, after a long conversation on the lines of hotel policy they finally very reluctantly agreed to a 3:00 pm checkout inspite of having vacancy. The hotel needs to update its interiors and furniture as it feels like a property of the early 1990's however if one wishes to checkin for a night and is being offered a good deal, I would totally recommend this hotel as its kept very clean and well maintained.

Best Hotel in Guangzhou.

Beautiful and the best location. Central but super quiet, 5 minutes walk to locate supermarket and lots shops and coffee, water view and open views over the center of city. Better then Sheraton Hotel but we pay 1/2 the Sheraton price. Best breakfast and good pool view restaurant. So, the last 20 years, when come to China Guangzhou, we always choce to stay in this hotel.

Run down, dirty. More for local people

This hotel is run down and dirty. The beds are so hard almost like concrete. It is more for local people than for Westerners. This hotel is NOT up to Western standards! I have stayed here for many years, but will not stay anymore. In fairness, the staff are friendly and hard working and the area is plesant.

Good Hotel - no risk

The Ramada Pearl is a very good hotel. Rooms are clean and good sized. Lot's of natural light. Ask for a room facing the river. Staff is almost over attentive at times, but the service is good and everyone is friendly. Most of the desk staff speak good english as well. The fitness center and the Pool are very good as well. The hotel's surrounding area is full of shops and places to eat that are easy to walk to. Getting a taxi from the Hotel can take some time, so if you need a cab, give yourself an extra half hour of time. I have stayed at this hotel several times now and it's been consistent every time .

Very Impressed

I have stayed at 10 different hotels in China and they had the best service. The shuttle bus service to the Canton Fair was the best. They had 3 big shuttle buses and there was always a seat. It was like clock work on time. Was able to get my sims cards and China Mobile prepaid cards at the customer service desk. Most of the staff spoke some english and I could could get my point across. I would stay at this hotel again.

I stayed at the Ramada Pearl Hotel in Guangzhou for 2 nights in early September 2010. Overall, I found it to be a very good hotel. The rooms are quite large with a view overlooking the river. It is in a fairly good area, although a little seedy at night time. Getting there was a little difficult, I arrived during the afternoon rush. Overall I would recommend this hotel as a good 3.5 star property

The Hotel Ramada is a good Hotel, for what you pay, but them have to be careful whit the client, non smoking area is important for occidental people. We now that the 30% of the chinese is smoking people, but in america the porcentaje is lowing, only the 10% is smoker. We request a nonsmoking room and they give us the first nigth a smoking room. we reclain and then they change the room.
The indoor pool in this cool period is not warm. very cool and we can not use it. The bath room of the area pool not very clean and small.
The western restaurant the prices is to hight to take breakfast . but the chinese restaurant is ok.

Great big room with decent view. Location seemed to be in a business district which was walking distance from a few sight seeing attractions including the Asian Games construction and giant sight seeing tower.

If you are in town for the nightlife this location may not be the best.

WARNING: As expected, room service and mini bar is rediculously priced. Go the nearby 711 and other convenient store to get snacks.

I typically stay at 5-star hotels in Asia because they are equivalent to 3 and 4 star hotels in the US. I had received a recommendation to try this hotel, but should have asked more thorough questions. I would equate this hotel to a large Motel 6 or an old US Best Western. Accomodations are just okay. You get what you pay for...

Overall is good , but I had bad experience during my stay because my next door room was very noise…. Some people were singing and chatting even 3:00am. Next day the hotel reception changed another room to me. I was appreciated at their high efficiency.

High standard

High standard hotel rhat used to be a preminum hotel a decade ago. Now its starting to feel a bit old. A bit old bathrooms and bad sound isolation to the rooms. The gym and the pool area is very nice. A good 4 star hotel.
