I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place was so bad I feel obligated to warn others. First off, there was no continental breakfast, despite it being advertised. That was just the beginning.

The walls were only half painted, like someone gave up midway through a DIY job. Under the sink, the cupboard was literally rotting, and everything about the room screamed neglect. A light fixture on the wall was broken and hanging loose, which felt like a serious safety hazard.

The curtains were also broken, barely hanging on, and did nothing to block out the light or provide privacy. Even worse, there was masking tape still around the plug sockets—clearly unfinished and unprofessional.

The whole room was dirty and smelled of damp, making it incredibly unpleasant to stay in. I’ve stayed in budget accommodations before, but this was on another level of bad. Would absolutely avoid at all cost!

Absolutely Horrendous, Nothing Like the Photos

I don’t normally leave reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I want to warn others.

The hotel advertised “breakfast included” but there was nothing available. Not that I would have eaten it anyway, as the whole place was filthy. Thankfully, there was a McDonald’s across the road.

When we arrived, we were shown a printed list of guest names and asked to pick ours out a clear data protection breach. The man at the desk was polite and gave us some information about access after hours, but that’s the only vaguely positive thing I can say.

My first room (Room 10) was appalling. There were unidentified stains on the wooden bed base, cigarette burns and damage on the bedside table, and rubbish in the corners. The fridge placed bizarrely inside the wardrobe was dirty and smelly. The window was tiny, stuck high up, with no way to open it, so the room was airless and dark. The bathroom was no better: smears on the mirror, hair in the shower, and no towels provided. The room looked nothing like the pictures online, which show neat rooms with towel art a complete misrepresentation.

I asked to move rooms and was given Room 16. It was slightly better but still dirty: stained cups, dusty and broken fittings, and a fridge that stank. For starters the staff was super friendly however, for a family room it was tiny. There was no breakfast, no microwave, and no dvd player as the place advertised. While fine for the price and to just crash for the night if you are using the family room with children this is not the place, there was thumping base until 1AM and there was no sleeping through it. I expected a bit more for a £100 a night large room. Will not be back

Shocking experience! Room was extremely dirty, dated and disgusting. So called hotel rooms are directly above a pub so loud noise was coming from the downstairs, after pub were closed party moved to some of the rooms and continued until morning. No soundproofing, there is nobody to contact after pub is closed, number left for out of hours contact was inactive. There is no breakfast apart from 4 little boxes of cereals, remembering probably olimpics in London.

Disappointing hotel overall. Pretty run down, room was fairly small. Location was good, just a 10 minute walk to the underground station. For me the worst thing was that the hotel advertised a free continental breakfast - well that turned out to be just a couple of boxes of cornflakes and some milk in the room! Got only one cereal bowl as well - apparently to share between hubby and myself. No spoons for it, but got spoons for the tea/coffee so probably just wanted to save on the washing up.

What a great little find. Can't fault the place for what we paid. Old-fashioned boozer and comfortable rooms above it. Owner really friendly and welcoming. The only issue I have is that there was no breakfast despite it being advertised with one. Don't know if that is an issue with Hotels.com or the hotel. Apart from that if you're in London and need cheap accommodation near to the underground then get on this. We're already booking again for next year.

Great location. The hotel is right across a shopping plaza including a supermarket, mini-mart, Subway, McDonald, coffee shop etc. it is close to subway train station and bus stops. It is also few kilometres away from St Pancras Central train station. The hotel is clean and staff are friendly, flexible and accommodating. Price is very reasonable considering amenities mentioned.

I booked a one night stay at the Beaconsfield Hotel, Green Lane, Haringey in London. I was told by Hotels.com that my stay included breakfast and when I got there i was told there is No breakfast. The room was small. I was not given the WIFI code straight away. Thete was no remote control for the TV. I was very disappointed with Hotels.com. l have had no response to my complaint. I would appreciate some goodwill gesture for a very poor service.

Appalling attitude, dirty room

From the moment we tried to check in the member of staff was rude! Couldnt fond our booking so told us we must of cancelled, he just gave us sheets of bookings to look through to see if we could find us on the list! We couldnt, i showed him the conformation booking emails and on the hotels.com app n then after arguing with us for 20 minutes he decided to give us a room for the money lol e was paying through the app but constantly saying how much money he was loosing out on as the room was £125 as he had to give us a triple room instead of a double.
Its advertised breakfast included, there was no one or no breakfast to be seen anywhere in the morning! Check out was through a back door and tou left the keys in a box.
The room was dirty and definitely not worth £125 he wanted. Definitely wouldnt stay here again and im no hotel snob and dont normally write a review but his attitude was that bad i feel like i need too!

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone! Firstly I arrived on time and all the doors where closed. The main entrance of this hotel was the doors of a pub which where locked and I waited for a good 30 minutes. I tried calling the hotel number several times and no one replied. Checking out was even out was even harder, I couldn’t find any staff or reception to return the key. The service is terrible. The hotel room has a strong smell of alcohol and cigarettes, the shower room was unclean and in bad condition. Also the walls of the hotels are really hollow and you can hear everything from the other room.
This was a waste of my money and time and the hotel room does not look the same as on the picture. For the price you can find a decent travel lodge in good condition.

- Receptionist is uncontactable because the access to the pub downstairs where the receptionist is closed till later in the day. Even so, there is no phone in the room for you to call the reception.
- Free WiFi never works
- Free Breakfast is not true (the only place that seems to be where the breakfast can be held is at the pub and it is closed till later in the day)
- Bed is uncomfortable
- One of the two towels given does not feel fresh or clean. Could not call the reception to change because room phone does not exist.
- No extra toilet paper and no way to ask for extra because the reception is not around.
- Shower drainage is clogged and does not drain well.
- Someone broke into the hotel on my second day there and the police had to be called to calm the situation after lots of shouting and cursing. Apparently a husband was upset with the wife for leaving him or something like that. I was truly terrified of my safety.
- A guest wrote in the hotel guestbook saying he will never come back to this place again. I sincerely agree.

Truly disappointed with my experience and would have switched hotel on the first night itself if I were not on a tight budget. As of this review being written, this hotel is rated 2.6 stars and I believe this to be OVERRATED.

It was the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. We got there at about 11 pm because the flight was delayed and we had to wait for an hour or more to get checked in. They dont have an elevator/lift so we had to carry up our big suitcases. The room is not at all like they show in the website; its very small and unlivable. One of the staff really tried to help us during the stay but it was an overall terrible experience. We decided to move out after 3 days since we were suppose to stay there for 9 days; we ended up booking another hotel.

The hotel is above a pub, so prepare to hear music late at night until closing time. It is in the Islington area of London, 40 minutes by Underground from Central London and over an hour from Heathrow. It's a 10-minute walk from the Manor House station. Decent place, no frills.

The worse experience ever!!!!

I booked the room and hadn’t gotten a chance to sleep in it. Upon arrival the doors were shut. I arrived at 10:45. I thought I was on time because the check in time were from 11 am to 11 pm. I called the number left on the sight but with no success. I took pictures with the time stamp so that they couldn’t deny I wasn’t here ontime. The spent a few hours after that looking for hotels. I was so annoyed and tired.

I was actually disappointed, as a total hotel amateur, I though that in London hotels were going to be nice and cosy, welcoming and clean. This hotel was the opposite. The free breakfast that was advertised when I booked was in fact just 2 small bottles of apple juice, some milk and mini cereal boxes. The whole room smelled of Cigarets.

Avoid at all costs

On arrival, there was no electricity or heating, we were shown up a suspiciously smelling dark staircase (no lights), and into our room which was freezing cold (no heating and windows open). Then we realised that we also had no running water including the toilet, so I popped downstairs to tell him and he shrugged and said it would come back on soon. There was a huge crack in the mirror on the wardrobe, making it look very shabby. Bedding and towels supplied were clean, tiny loo/shower room adequate but needs a deep clean. Bed was short for me, I’m 5’9 and my feet hung over the edge so not ideal when the heating doesn’t work. Breakfast supplied was a small packet of Nesquik chocolate cereal and longlife milk, adequate and as described.

We ended up going over the road to McDonald's to use the facilities and warm up before attending an event at Alexandra Palace. Returned at 12 midnight to find power but the heating wasn't on, complained again and it came on 10 mins later. Music downstairs went on till 2am and was replaced by a beeping alarm on the landing outside of our room that went on all night.

Management completely disinterested in and kind of dialogue, calls and emails have been ignored.

Would not recommend this place, frankly I'd rather stay in the McDonald's over the road.

We were surprised it was called a \"hotel\" as it turned out to be a small room above a pub. We had to wait quite a while at \"Reception\" i.e. the bar, whilst the barman served all the locals. We were anxious because we had to move the car to somewhere a mile or so away where it was legal to park. The room was at the front of the building, facing a busy junction, so very loud all through the night with shouting, boy racers, sirens etc. The shower worked, but the bathroom was tiny, with no shelf to put your wash bag or anything else on. The booking had been for a double room but it turned out to be 2 single beds. I awoke in the morning (not that I'd slept much) to find water dripping onto the bed from the room above. The whole place was shabby and needed a major uplift or closing down. Good points = The shower worked, the kettle worked, there was milk and cereal for breakfast. Bad points = everything else.

Good for a night or two

I only wanted a stop over for the night, attending a Kate Bush function. Very happy experience. It certainly wasn't the Ritz, but the bedding was clean, which I was happy with. Staff were friendly and helpful too. Decor needed a bit of attention, but , overall, I was pleased, and the venue was a short bus ride away.

This is a grotty pub and not a hotel

This is a pub with no hotel reception. Ignored at the bar for five minutes waiting to check in, then told only had one room but we'd booked two for two nights - man disappeared for 10 minutes to check for himself. Then took us to rooms - 'breakfast in the fridge' was the comment which turned out to be a carton of long life milk and a packet of coco pops. Bathroom was filthy, with extractor fan covered in dust and mould, shower full of mould and dirt, toilet and shower room tiny - had to have door open to sit on the toilet, sink had no plug and was almost impossible to clean teeth or shave as mirror cabinet too far forward and finally kettle in the room wouldn't fit under the tap to fill. Window was broken and wouldn't close and traffic from road very noisy. Room had a double bed but not enough space for two people to be in at the same time. Very poor. Access to street via a metal outside staircase with no lighting at night!

comfortable but unfinished.

Booked hotel as it's location was near the venue we were visiting (Alexandra Palace). Easy to find & get around as it's only a short walk to the subway. Staff were friendly & the room comfortable. There were a few damp patches on the wall & the hotel is under refurbishment & not finished. For 2 blokes it was perfect and I would go back if going to the venue again. I wouldn't go there for a leisure break with my wife though.

The room I stayed in was nothing like the photos.

'Suspect hairs' around the bed and on the carpet.

Noisy traffic through thin windows.

It's a pub.

Nice clean comfortable rooms

Very happy with my stay at this hotel and would stay again. Initials impression as I walk into the pub/reception were OK but I was pleasantly surprised to find a clean comfortable rooms with an excellent shower and other facilities. Brilliant for the price

First of all, the postcode is far from the premises !!!
Friendly guy on reception but room cramped & bathroom even more so !!!
\"Breakfast included\" it says on the website - I was quite disappointed when I was told it was a miniature box of crunchy nut cornflakes & a carton of milk that was in the fridge, in the room !! Breakfast ??
I know its London, its a fairly cheap hotel but could do better.

Cheap but not cheerful

We arrived and were left at the bar of the hotel for a very long time with no information about the room, breakfast, etc. Breakfast was a box of cornflakes in the wardrobe and UHT milk in the fridge. The fridge was so noisy it sounded like a drill in the room. The bar was loud until the early hours of the morning, then the next morning the corridors outside the room were being hoovered before 9.00. The decor of the room was appalling and no effort had been made to make the room look nice. There were fresh towels and water in the shower was hot, but that is the only positive. If you want a good nights sleep find somewhere else to stay!
