We asked for a single bed to be added to the room, which it was. However, it was placed directly in front of the air conditioner which needed to be on as it was very warm on both days of our stay. It was the only air conditioner and there was nothing in the bedroom.
In the bathroom there was only 1 roll of toilet paper supplied which did not last 2 days.
The grout between the tiles in the shower needed a good scrub to remove mould.
The plug for the kitchen sink did not fit the plug hole.
The door handle to the balcony was loose.
The carpet in the lounge room had not been vacuumed properly and was evident when I moved the single bed.
Generally, the room was very tired and neglected.
The hotel was supposed to be manned from 10.00 AM but on both days there was nobody there at 10.00.

The rooms are old and neglected and do not look anything like the website. We were texted late check-in details on the day of our arrival although we arrived within reception hours. I did not see Reception open the whole 5 days of my stay. The apartment had not been cleaned prior to our stay, rubbish in robe, mould in bathroom sink, thick dust on walls behind curtains. Killed three very big cockroaches over three nights. Kitchen sink plug did not fit. We ran out of toilet paper on day 3, with no spare rolls supplied in cupboard. Old stains on linen on main bed and on spare linen and blanket in cupboard. All appalling and I fought for a 50% refund which Wotif were every helpful in progressing. Do not stay at Lodestar Waterside Apartments. There is no service or attempt to maintain apartments.

Reception seems to be non-existent, with our room key and information left in a lock box despite checking in soon after 2pm. This was communicated clearly by email. We never saw anyone during our 1 week stay.
Basic supplies were scarce; not enough glasses and cutlery for the number of guests, no plugs for sinks or cloths for washing dishes, a single dishwashing tablet for a 1 week stay, no broom. That might be ok if you're going to be serviced regularly, but nothing during a 6 night stay.
Having no wifi is a real downside and a tv that doesn't have HDMI capability is limiting these days.
The apartment needed a deep clean. Tiled floors clearly had dirt worn into the tile and grout. Walls were dirty along the beds.
Beds not the worst I stayed in, but not particularly comfortable.
Having a washer and dryer was convenient and the location is handy and walking distance to the river and South Perth cafes.

My stay was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, we found the room was not as pictured. There was black dirt on the windows and a significant layer of dust throughout, which was a major issue for me as I have dust allergies. This resulted in a very uncomfortable night's sleep. On top of that, the screen door was missing from the entry, the light fixtures by the bed were loose and broken, and we even had to deal with someone else's half-eaten food in the fridge. The actual state of the property did not live up to the images or reviews previously seen.

If there were negative stars, this place would deserve them. It doesn’t even qualify for one. We were placed in a unit where every other apartment on the floor appeared to be privately owned and occupied by people partying all night long. Despite the hotel’s own signage stating that quiet hours are from 11 pm to 7 am, the noise was non-stop. We called the “after-hours” emergency number, only to be told they couldn’t do anything about it. Things got so bad we had to call the police to file a noise complaint. That’s how out of control it was. To make matters worse, our balcony was under renovation and completely unusable—blocked off with safety hazard tape. It was not only an eyesore but a serious safety risk that should have made the room uninhabitable. The air conditioning unit was heavily rusted and incredibly loud. By the second day, we had to stop using it entirely because of the unbearable noise. How this property can legally rent out such a hazardous and poorly maintained space is beyond me—it’s a total violation of basic consumer rights. The most appalling moment came on the third day of our stay when the entire electrical circuit in our unit began flickering in the morning before cutting out completely. When we called the urgent after-hours line again, they said they couldn’t do anything because it was a public holiday. Unreal !! Rubbish experience from start to finish. This place is a disgrace and a serious safety and health concern. Avoid it at all cost.

Very nice property, and nice staff. The room was extremely dirty (including questionable debris on the toilet wall). Electrical switch and light were hanging out of the wall exposing wiring. In summary a a nice property and staff but I would not stay again because of the lack of cleanliness of the room.

I had booked an apartment at Lodestar Waterside Apartments between 16 Feb and 24 Feb 24. I think the place is extremely bad, amongst other things, the living room light was not working, the television set was not working, the remote control had to be taped, and the frying pan was so bad that it was unsuitable for use. I thought it was very unprofessional of the management for not checking. Moreover, the mobile signal was very weak. For the above reasons, I have booked another place and had checked out on 18 Feb 24.

This Property needs an upgrade to bring it to a reasonable standard. Meet with filthy stairway and corridor to the apartment. Kitchen dirty - food on the outside of the refrigerator plus dirty shelves on inside of the refrigerator. Plate taken from cupboard with food on it. No hot water in the kitchen. Only time I have ever had to buy cleaning products. Walls marked, curtains dirty and the doona fit only to be thrown out. Condition of the apartment totally negates the excellent position of the property.

The property is extremely dirty and outdated. We walked around the property barefoot for 10 minutes and our feet were black. The cleaners tried to clean the floors but they didn’t even have a proper mop. The toilet was leaking and the floors were wet. The showers were constantly leaking and we couldn’t turn them off, the noise kept us up at night. Because it was holidays, there wasn’t anyone at the reception to help us. On a positive note, it’s a good location and the apartment is large.

Our room hadn't actually been cleaned (towels, sheets had been used) when we were given the key. We had to ask for it to be cleaned. It wasn't particularly clean in general. The beds were comfortable, at least. There was an aircon issue that thankfully didn’t end up being a problem. Overall, not at all recommended.

Generally good. Unit was clean but decor tired. There was traffic noise from freeway, we reduced this by keeping windows closed while sleeping. We appreciated the spacious kitchen and full laundry. Kitchen had oven as well as microwave. Our appartment had adequate utensils. We were taking part in a sports team so spent little time in the appartment during the day. The location was excellent for getting to the various sports fields throughout Perth.

This place is a scam.

Arrived to the most disgusting, un-hygienic room I have ever seen in my life.
- blood stains on the walls
- mold on the bedding
- brown stains on the bedsheets
- piles of hair and dirt all over the floor
- chips and scratches covered over all walls and counters
- multiple burn marks on the floor
- all kitchenware unwashed
- sinks and hot plate dirty
- toilet takes 6-7 flushes to clear
- Wi-Fi doesn’t work
- reception staff rude and unhelpful. wont do anything.

Property management has gone silent, taken our money and refusing to communicate.

Avoid this place at all costs!

Small things detract from the overall enjoyment of the property: no privacy scrim curtain in the bedroom, no luggage stand, needs shelves or a chest of drawers for clothes, no plug for bathroom sink and the standard of lighting in the lounge area is poor. The low lounge is a pain for an old bloke with crook knees as was the first floor location but I concede they would not be a problem for most people.

The units themselves are basic and clean. If you're only intending on sleeping and showering there they're more than adequate. Has fridge and cooking facilities and dishwasher too. Being right next to the freeway could be a problem if a light sleeper and need quiet. Limited parking however seems to be enough for all guests. A slightly dated appearance.

Please dont use either of them. You will never see your money or actually get to stay. Having looked at the exterior I would suggest you dont go in..car park is dangerous hard to manouvre. Would be easy to get your car damaged. Staff are unhelpful and probably testimony to the shoddy second rate interior. Dont waste your money there are many better quality hotels nearby.

The property was booked due to being in close proximity to one of the hospitals.
The apartment was a good size, however very dated with visible marks on the walls and carpets. There was also dust on the bedside tables. The property was in a good location to local shops, cafes, jetty, zoo. Being next to the freeway, there was constant noise from road vehicles and trains.

The location of the property is ideal, and the size of the rooms was generous.

But the room was dirty. The shower was in a disgusting state and the carpet was so dirty that it looked unsafe to walk on with bare feet. The curtains were filthy and had obviously not been cleaned for many years. Half of the lights around the unit did not work, including one above the bed which had a bit of insulation tape over the broken switch, and the small balcony had a timber section with loose boards with nails sticking up in a way that made it impossible to stand on without a lot of care. The kitchen was poorly equipped with pots that had no lids and a very dirty exhaust fan. It was essentially unusable.

The parking area was also difficult. Only a few bays were available for visitors, but it has been so long since the signs on the parking bays had been painted that it was difficult to work out which ones were available.

And finally the place was sprinkled with threatening signs. You will be fined if you lock your self out. You will be doubly fined if you lose your key. If you park in the wrong place your car will be towed away etc. I really dislike people who think we are bad an uncaring visitors. Do the owners really think that threatening notices will improve the behaviour of uncaring visitors? Do they think that we chose to rent their dirty facility in order to behave badly.

Nice and close to the city, fountains could be removed and a pool installed would make it nicer. Good kitchen facilities, but no tea towels. Room was cleaned half way through our stay but only one bed made, was thinking the room would not get serviced so that was odd. Parking a little tight in a 4WD but workable.

There was a dreadful odor that would not go away even after using teatree and orange power and opening up to air it out.
The carpet looked oppressive and so did the ugly big couch, I had to cover some ugly things like couch and the rusted mouldy air con so I didnt have to look at them.
I had to wear a mask with filters so I didnt have to breathe in or smell the odour which was around washing machine and fridge area.
The shower was good and clean. Appliances like washing machine, fridge and other things were all near new and clean, bed was clean and nicely made.

I loved the fountains in the pictures for the apartments but was a bit disappointed to find that they had been a bit neglected.
We had a lovely stay - only issue was with loud noises and talking from whoever was in the apartment above us.
This was on and off between 11:20pm and 1:40am when the note for the Quiet Time states no loud noises between 10pm and 7am.
The noises woke my Husband up who initially thought it was our 3 older kids making a racket in their room but they were fast asleep and also woke up our youngest daughter.
Other than that, the staff were very friendly, our beds were very comfy and the rooms were neat and tidy.

Only given 2 towels when our apartment was serviced. We asked for more towels (family) of 4 and we were told the cleaner would send more towels but they never arrived. There were two big cockroaches one running around kitchen and one in laundry sink. The floor at the entrance of the apartment was always wet from a leak somewhere. No hand soap provided for kitchen just watered down dish soap. No servicing on the weekends. the only window that could be opened was the bathroom. There was a sliding door that has a fly screen that could be left open for air however you could not lock fly screen to secure your belongings. There was a funny chemical smell constantly in the bedroom. The good things were all the amenities and how close they were to the beautiful south Perth foreshore and Perth CBD.

Unfortunately this property is majorly in need of updating. The carpet and furniture were in poor condition with stains on the couch. Pulled out the sofa bed to find it filthy underneath. No sheets were supplied for it either. Broken handles on drawers, no cloth provided to wipe down surfaces while staying so had to use the tea towel.
The fridge also froze everything you put in it even when it was turned to it’s lowest setting.
The location is right by a freeway but was reasonably quiet.
We didn’t feel safe there with a sign on the door stating to deadbolt when in the apartment and had somebody knocking on a window at night.

The photos of this property a highly photoshopped, doesn't give the most realistic view of where you're staying.

The sofa bed in my room stuck up at one end so the couch was pretty much rendered useless. I tried pulling it out and returning it into the sofa, but it stayed pretty much the same.

The reverse cycle aircon barely cooled down the lounge let alone the rest of the apartment.

The parking isn't clear, and not labelled. I got yelled at by 2 permanent residents of the complex for parking in \"their spot\" even though those particular parking spots weren't labelled. Not enough parking for the whole complex even though it was stated there was.

Door looked like someone had broken into it recently - wood was all chipped away around the lock.

Shower was recessed into the floor luckily, as the shower base filled up with 3 inches of water quite quickly after turning it on - didn't feel very great at all.

Next time I am in Perth I won't be staying here.

Didn't like that the apartments are not well maintained - eg. TV remote control didn't work, basin had no plug, etc., and location is close to Kwinana Freeway and noisy at night.

Convenient location.

Convenient location, freeway noise could be heard but didn’t bother us. Very pretty streets in the area, shops not far away, some within a short walk (10 mins) We were allowed early check in as soon as a room was available, and it was good to be able to park outside our room. The kitchen was old with new dishwasher. We didn’t cook,we only stayed one night. We mainly stayed here for access to the airport and also to use the washing machine and dryer in the unit. It was very convenient to relax while we did our washing and repacked. The little patio looking at the water feature was very nice. There was a lot of light in the room and I had trouble sleeping. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly. Wifi was slow and kept cutting out.

After hour key collection worked well. Room clean & presentable.
However towel changing wasn’t as indicated and biggest issue was extremely poor mobile phone (Telstra) connectivity, dropped to 3G! I had to leave apartment and make phone calls in the street

Terrible furniture. Ingrained food and finger marks on table, old beds, only an old two seater couch for five people.
Manager excellent and very apologetic but he said the owners refuse to spend money on furniture upgrades
