Family of 4. The hotel has clearly been neglected. The room which was partially cleaned had someone’s underwear in a drawer and food crumbs in the corner. When reported the response was that they’d come and get the underwear. We had to prompt them to disinfect the area. Loose handrail in the bath. Cupboard panel missing in the wardrobe exposing the dirty air con vent area. Tv isn’t a smart tv. Alarm clock only allows the old old iPhone charge and no other charge options like most hotels of this status. The place needs a review and upgrading, or, lower prices to reflect the quality of stay.

Can I suggest informing customer of validating parking tickets before being stuck with a $26 car park fee at Wilson car park. I was not aware of that. I thought it was $8.
Felt claustrophobic without being able to open the window.
Dark and gloomy when we walked in, i would suggest having the curtains open.

Honestly no, the room was not clean. There was a soya sauce cap behind the curtain, what looked like cat/dog fur on the carpet and a burnt out globe in the bedside lamp.

Whilst presentable, I'm not sure 4 star is where we should be for an Accor hotel.

Easy check in. Clean room. Had breakfast included with our stay. The first morning we had to wait 10 minutes as no one was at the dining room to let us in. Scrambled eggs were waterery, bacon was cold and sausages tasted awful. Definitely not worth what we paid for breakfast. Everything else was good though.

Once again I had another great two night's stay at this hotel. Nothing is too much bother for all the staff here. From Crystal sorting out my room for this and two other stays I have upcoming in December to Camilla who was very helpful and friendly while serving at the bar. I even went out for the day and realised I had left my laptop charged in and phoned reception and spoke to a lady who was working on Saturday morning who arranged for Housekeeping to go and unplug it. This was very helpful as I was out all day and my laptop does get hot if left charging for too long. I look forward to my next five day stay starting tomorrow.

Despite it being a very busy time for all the staff, with the Ashes Cricket Match starting the day I left, they were all as great as they normally are. I left my Computer Mouse in my room when checking out and only realised the day after. I went back and spoke to Kristal and then two others on Reception the next morning and they all could not do enough to help to try and locate it for me. The good news was when I went back on the third day after checking-out, they had found it for which I can't thank them enough for. A great service once again and I look forward to returning to the hotel again in a few days time for a weekend stay and also the further seventeen days I have booked here throughout December.

The bathroom in our room had no shower door so the whole bathroom floor would flood. I had to use every towel we had to clean up after a short shower so no one would slip. Reception said this is because it was a wheelchair access room, but feel this would be a hazard for anyone in a wheelchair also. Drainage was not adequate for this room.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and once again had another great stay. It is always my first choice when staying in the CBD, The service offered by Ella at the front desk, from check-in to check-out, was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for her. Also a shout out to the two maintenance guys (sorry I don't know their names) who tried to fix the safe in the first room I was allocated. Despite their efforts they had to close off the room and offered me a change of room with an upgrade to Room 1028. This was greatly appreciated and a very nice way to start my eight week trip around Western Australia with the first three night's in this room. I am staying here three more times during my trip, for a further ten night's, and am sure those stays will be as good as this one was Graham

Noisey, can hear the next room and conversations in the corridor.
The room service trays (not just ours) remained in the corridor for more than 12 hours and after the cleaning staff had gone through the rooms.

The staff were great. The location was walkable to everything. However, this hotel is very dated and very old for a 4 star hotel in todays time. It needs a renovation and even new paint. Also more channels other than just local tv for a four star hotel.

Average Mecure..

It was a long overdue trip to Perth, after spending much time searching for the right accommodation I opted for Mecure which by most standards is and has been a good option. We weren’t overly disappointed because we didn’t spend all that much time in the room except for the latter part of our evening and a little bit in the morning. The bathroom was the greatest let down. No extractor fan meant after a shower the bathroom was muggy as could be, the shower itself is beyond tiny, the old style mixers meant regulating water temp was a problem, the wash basin has surface cracks. The overall room is in desperate need of a facelift but it’s ok, as average as average could be. My overall rating would be 2.5 to max 3 star rating. Would we return probably not. The best part of the accommodation was the location and that too our view was overlooking a very unsightly rooftop. Mercure…invest in a revamp! Last but not least we had the most inconsiderate bunch of people on our floor, made an absolute racket towards midnight and early morning.

The hotel is relaxedly quiet and the staff are warm, professional, non-intrusive - yet helpful when needed.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets crisp! It had all that was needed. The shampoo, conditioner & bodywash products were so delightful that I have ordered some for home use!
I did need to request decaf coffee sachets & housekeeping promptly provided some. A shower cap might be a nice addition to the complimentary items available. And maybe an oatmeal or shortbread biscuit, to go with a cuppa? It was nice to have the tea, coffee & milk. Could maybe add hot chocolate sachets?
The restaurant on the Mercure's Hay Street entrance serves tasty food and is open at useful hours. All in all, a happy, restful stay at a hotel close to many useful venues from the waterfront, to churches, shopping malls, cafés and the Perth Mint!

Refurbishment needed - carpet in room has stretched and wrinkled, wall paper bubbled, bedside lamp shade damaged and switch broken, caroets in lift lobby and hallways on our floor dirty, water pressure in shower very poor sometimes and only just adequate at others, so that you had to stand so close to the shower that the non slip coating on the bath was 450 cm further down the bath and i was standing on the slippery bath base - no rubber mat provided, curtains partly hanging off the track.

The pictures aren’t honest

There are two parts to the hotel, one side is refurbished and are the pictures displayed on the website and the second part is the old hidden side and where most holiday visitors are placed. It’s where the bathroom has cracked tiles and paint peeling in the tub. The carpet is stained with red wine, hand prints on the walls and dust covering the light fixtures. It wasn’t a relaxing experience.

Our only complaint is the quality of the bed, it did not provide a good sleep. Every time one person moved the whole bed shook, plus it felt smaller than a queen size bed and had some sort of plastic topping on the mattress which makes a terrible noise everytime you move.

The Hotel was very handy for a walk to shopping and sightseeing. The room was good had all you would need. The swimming pool was a disappointment for us as when we went up to the top floor there was not enough chairs or loungers to sit on . So we never got to use it.

Check in was easy as was checking out but the whole place looks tired and needs some serious cleaning and refurbishment. The lift is really dirty as you walk into it the metal strips need really cleaning. The room We stayed in although was pretty clean the bathroom was functional but very outdated with some cracked tiles, the ceiling needed cleaning. We stopped on the 13th floor which was great for views and on the same floor as pool and gym. The pool at 1.6 m is not suitable for young children under 6 unless they are competent swimmers . There's hardly any sun loungers I think 9 in total a few chairs and a bench so problem when the pools busy no where to sit or lie to sunbathe. There was also a very rude man conducting his telephone business call who told my grandchildren off for playing at the end of the pool where he was talking business. Not the hotels fault but I didn't think a pool was for conducting business telephone calls. As for breakfast there's a good range of choice but some of the quality seemed in my opinion poor. There were also quite a few flies which put me of after they were landing on the exposed food. The cups for coffee several were dirty and although had gone through the dishwasher were still unclean. The coffee machine serves great coffee though. The hotel is fabulously placed for a short walk into the city. It's reasonably priced but is really for single people couples businessmen flight crew etc.

V Good Overall Stay (but Health and Safety!!)

I recently stayed at the Mercure Perth for over two weeks, giving me plenty of time to experience all the hotel has to offer. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable, and the excellent breakfast each morning deserves a special mention. The variety, quality, and freshness of the options were outstanding and really set a great tone for the day.

However, I did notice some significant deficiencies around health and safety at the pool area, which unfortunately dampened an otherwise positive experience. The pool shade area is currently undergoing works and has been closed off, leaving no shaded areas for guests by the pool—a real inconvenience in the Australian sun.

Additionally, the pool deck has several loose floorboards, which I found quite concerning especially as we were on a family trip with children. These pose a significant hazard. This seems like a pressing issue that should be addressed promptly to ensure guest safety. (picture attached).

The rest of the hotel, including the room comfort, staff friendliness, and central location, met my expectations for a Mercure property.

If the health and safety issues around the pool area are resolved, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. Until then, I’d suggest proceeding with caution if you plan to spend time at the pool with children or even not, given the lack of shade,.

On arrival was offered an upgrade but unsure why.
No milk in the fridge
No information booklet
When wanting room service the phone didn't work and had to use mobile. When enquiring about room service found out it was heavy expensive.
Other people next to us allowed their children to play in the hallway past 2130 and again before 0730 the next morning.
When explaining all of this to the receptionist at checkout all we got as a response was \"oh I'm sorry about that\".
Won't stay again or recommend.

I booked my stay for 2A & 2C and there were only two towels in the bathroom. We got the two towels we needed but when the room was serviced the next day they only provided two towels. There was not any fresh milk in the fridge only an opened milk. The tea/coffee was not replenished for the second day.

Some negatives Hot water was very hit and miss, cold most mornings. If you got to breakfast later than 8 you missed out on pastries, bacon,cold meats etc.

I was not happy with this hotel. There was no parking, except valet (and no advice on best way to park). There was no toilet roll holder in room and no toilet paper and it took hours to get any and this was not replaced when it ran out. The rooms were very dated, and the shower temperature was hard to control. I would not recommend this hotel, The beds were the only god point. The Mecure in Liverpool was so much better.

In desperate need of a refresh/update

The staff are great and the hotel foyer has been updated... but it ends there. The room, while large, is dated and in DESPERATE need of a renovation. The carpet was lifting everywhere and the decor screamed late 1990s or maybe 2001 at best. It looked tired, felt tired and even unclean.
If it were not for the staff doing their absolute best, we'd have left.

An enjoyable and relaxing stay in Perth.

An enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Mercury. The room allocated was spacious, comfortable and clean. I used both the gym and swimming pool each day and both were very good. The gym was well equipped. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is well situated with Perth city centre on a main bus route and 10 minutes walk to the main railway station in Perth.

No room to park for check in. There is no one to control the time limit for this so people just parked there car for over 45minutes. Also couldnt walk to our room as you could only go to floor 1 and needing another access card to go up levels. Only 1 elevator working and only small which is the reason why we tried walking. Showers not the cleanest. Needs more lighting in room and also tableside lamp not working. Tried calling reception and housekeeping and no one picked up as we were only given 2 towels for 4 guest. Will not be staying here again.
