The most bizarre check in check out experience Ive ever had . With no staff in reception, having to check in at the local deli, it’s bizarre to say the least.

Room was clean. Checked in at 1pm on Saturday remotely as reception closed at 12pm. Was out all day on Sunday and received a letter under our door that we hadn’t checked in and a call out fee would be charged. Unfortunately reception was not open on the Sunday morning we went out and was closed by lunchtime. Upon returning that evening our access card had been deactivated. We called the after hours number and spoke to the contact and he was rude and obnoxious. Lucky a permanent resident was able to give us access to our accommodation.

W were a bit worried as we heard that the staff are not friendly, and they might deduct your deposit. Internet says it’s a hit and miss. We’re now happy to share that we had an enjoyable time staying at Starwest Apartment Alderney on Hay. The room was clean. Amenities are as described. Having a kitchen is great help as we prefer doing our own cooking. Location is good. We had our city tour by CAT buses. There is a kangaroo sanctuary just round the corner! We went there and saw some kangaroos up close. We had a very good stay!

The room in good condition and spacious, but staff support poor . WiFi P.W expired after first day, had to wait 2 days to get new one?? as staff on holiday??. WiFi was almost useless anyway as slow and constantly dropped out. Couldnt get TV or aircon to work or staff assistance, turned out batteries were flat and had to buy own batteries and toilet papper. Paid for carpark but non available sometimes!! No signs on how to check in, it was convience shop next door.

There was no clear communication from the staff. I had to work out everything - from location of trash/recycling bins - to how to gain access to the property but myself or by asking other guests. The reception, such as it was, is the Convenience store next door. The 'manager' never seemed to be on duty...within an hour of checking in I'd told 'reception' that my inroom safe wasn't working. * days later nothing was done about it. Ditto a light bulb needed replacing in the laundry room of the apartment, the 'manager will be tiold when he arrives' Nothing. I did my laundry by the light of my mobile. No internet code was provided on arrival. A fellow guest obliged. There was clearly a change of towels after 7 days, but I only discovered this after it happened. This the only room service. A pity, since the facilities were good in the appartment and the local very handy

Arriving late and after an 8 hour drive to get to Perth, after a seamless check in, we go to our room only to find that it hadn’t even been cleaned/serviced since the previous people had checked out. The hotel was fully booked so they couldn’t even swap us rooms. We had to wait around for an hour waiting for it to be cleaned. Not what you are wanting to do after a long drive and with tired, hungry kids.

As we were on holiday the room was only somewhere to sleep. Facilities were fine. My son and I are 6ft 6 and beds were big enough. Place could do with a fresh coat of paint and carpet replaced (we didn’t care), and TVs updated for streaming, chrome casting etc.No real complaints

Impressed with this apartment, Suitable for family stay. Down side is we couldn’t get the smart tv to work, we got only regular channels. Wifi wasn’t automatic, we had to ask for it. Shower gel and tissues lasted 2 days and we had to ask for more with no issues. We stayed for 10 nights and rooms were cleaned on day 7, that’s when we got new clean towels etc, I think they say you have to pay extra if you need to new towels before your laundry day. Swimming pool water was on the colder side, there are certain times when gym is off limit for guests. Clean and sufficient kitchen, could do with changing the plastic cooking utensils-really old and chipping off. Parking was expensive, $15 per day and not even guaranteed. Overall it was convenient for our stay and would definitely book again when we visit Perth

It would be a very good improvement if the key cards were in covers with a collar attached so that you can wear them around your neck. That would reduce the risk of people locking themselves out a lot.
And as information for any future guests; 1 the door by the elevator needs a bit of force sometimes and 2. if the lock on it blinks green & red then you have to go out/in through the carpark on the left side of the entrance . That's what i hadn't been told at the reception and had to figure out for myself
